  1. The new features are listed on the Developer's Journal, and the trial is exactly the same as the full game, except you can only play a save for two months of in-game time. So you can try out everything for yourself before making the purchasing decision.
  2. As one of those random expiring attributes: Money Woes: This worker has fallen on hard times, and for a random period of time - if unemployed - will take pretty much any job in the business, even if the company is far below his popularity level.

  4. More specifically, it was the main event and then the second best match.
  5. That's exactly the same restriction that real life bookers are working under. That's why tournaments are often structured in a way that still pits babyface against heels whenever possible. It's part of the challenge. Having said that, the new product settings will have a slider that you can use to determine babyface/heel strictness in your company. I believe the middle option will allow you to have babyface and heels, but without penalties for booking a babyface/babyface or heel/heel match.
  6. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Travis" data-cite="Travis" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46105" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I've also wondered about that. But also let's say you have a show that airs on Saturday, but you tape on Monday. You can block tape 4 episodes on Monday, but after you finish that taping, can you go back into the schedule screen and change the next taping day to Tuesday(same day) or even to Wednesday, and block tape another 4 episodes, and then again on Friday, to have 12 shows total in the bank before the Saturday show even airs? Will the game know that it has 12 shows finished and draw from that bank of shows the same way it knows it has 4 shows taped and ready to air on the next 4 Saturdays?<p> </p><p> I used to do something similar but only 1 show at a time in TEW16, but mostly if I just wanted to finish up a TV contract. You could just go in and reschedule your taping day if you weren't airing live and do another show. I don't remember if it would just air that episode the following week though.</p><p> </p><p> But I'm excited for that feature. I'll use it heavily for a smaller company. I used to love doing 30 minute episodes built around 1 match, but when you have a roster of 12 or so guys you'd get complaints that someone wasn't getting used enough. So I'm curious if you'd still get complaints even when you're block taping shows and everyone appears throughout the tapings at least once, but when the air date of the episodes can be a month apart would you still get complaints from people that they aren't on TV enough?</p></div></blockquote><p> That'd be dope. I'm mostly interested in being able to block tape a month's worth of programming (or using the method you outlined and tape a few month's worth of programming) and then just multi-advance until either the next tapings, or the next PPV. Say, I block tape four episodes of a TV show. Then I could just multi-advance to the final Sunday of the month to do the PPV. After that, I would tape a month's worth of programming again and repeat. This would make it so fast to advance through the game.</p>
  7. I actually have a question about block tapings. If I block tape 4 episodes of Superstars, do I still have a taping scheduled for the following week, or is the show on a break for the following four weeks until all the episodes have aired?
  8. Yes, I know that TV was a big deal. I should rephrase what I meant. TV wasn't quite the anchor it is in today's wrestling. Back in the day, TV shows were comprised by highlights from house shows taped all over the world. Accompanied by pre-taped interviews and promos. In TEW, highlight shows are only available for touring companies. The current TV formula was really started by Nitro in late 95, and WWF followed with RAW around February 1997 - though RAW was slowly becoming a more important show from 1995, through 1996. But early 1997 is when the current RAW formula for the WWE was born.
  9. This is something I was wondering today. Those of you who make mods, how do you handle wrestling TV shows that were, say, pre-1997? Or pre-Nitro. I mean the TV shows like Superstars and Primetime Wrestling that were syndicated, before the era where RAW and Nitro made TV a major focus for a wrestling company. Prior to this era, TV shows were syndicated and were mainly used to promote the house show business. Very rarely did anything of note take place on free TV. How do you guys simulate this? Do you have the companies have all of their B and C highlight shows operational, do you cherry pick? What's your approach? I'm asking because TEW isn't fully equipped with handling TV of this era, so you kinda need to have a workaround of some sort.
  10. Technically, you have the autobooker, so you could kinda accomplish the same thing. I guess to really do this, though, you would need the autobooker to kinda have a distinct AI/type of booking to make it feel like a specific person is in charge. But you can only book SmackDown and autobook RAW if you wish.
  11. Oh, that penalty only occurs in 2016 if the gimmick is set to be non-generic. I obviously set all my gimmicks to be generic.
  12. Has two figureheads ever really been the case, though? Back in the days of John Cena and Batista, John Cena was clearly the figurehead. Batista was the 1A - super popular, big star. Head of SmackDown. But not the figurehead. And isn't Roman Reigns still the face of the company for the most part? Or are they now making Drew into that? I feel like there can only ever be one, regardless of the amount of brands. The figurehead is simply the Face of the Company; THE star that you send to talk shows and whatnot. It would be cheating to be able to have multiple since the figurehead clearly offers advantages. There can now be four brands per company, and if multiple brands would offer the ability to have multiple figureheads, of course everyone would create four brands for maximum benefit.
  13. Okay, that's fair. The journal states that the new system saves time in mod making, but I'll have to see that for myself. The way it sounds like is, I create a worker, and then create a gimmick for that worker from scratch. I assign a name for the gimmick, and then tick the boxes in the grid to determine what the gimmick is like. And I do this for every contracted worker in the database. This sounds like a lot of added work compared to how I did in 2016, which is I just had the 13 base types as their own gimmicks, so I basically only had 13 gimmicks in the file lol. And when creating workers, I would just assign the gimmicks. I know this isn't how most people like to do things, though, so this is moot.
  14. Hard to say without seeing it in action. It sounds better than the old system, and potentially fun, I have a wait and see approach. The whole concept of gimmicks is so hard to create in a game like this, though. As in, in a way that takes into account all the nuances of individual characters, but remains easy and simple to use. Also, in modern wrestling, the whole concept of gimmick is all but dead - barring some stand out exceptions here and there. I mostly play historic, so this doesn't concern me much, but if I were to make a modern database, I have no idea what gimmicks I would assign to guys like AJ, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins. I guess Rollins as a heel is a weasel. But a lot of the wrestlers are just normal dudes. They're just - wrestlers.
  15. If that's the creator's call, then that's how it is, but I do respectfully disagree since I see value in being able to play a Wholesome gimmick. Not everyone can do it, honestly. A Bret Hart and a John Cena can. A Seth Rollins or a Roman Reigns can't. I've stopped watching modern wrestling, but the last time I paid attention to it, they were trying it with Roman Reigns, and it's just not his fit, so the character bombed. It's actually a specific trait to be able to play that wholesome hero. But that's just me. This is nothing game-breaking, or anything.
  16. Yeeeeeaah, you do make a good point in saying that weasel/underdog covers both heel and babyface, respectively, but one could still argue that Bryan went through an entire gimmick change as he turned heel. Fair point, though.
  17. Are Wholesome gimmicks not a thing anymore? Just noticed when going through the list of Attributes. With the gimmicks now being: Dominant Comedy Swagger Gimmicky/Cartoonish Bad Ass Legitimate Weasely/Underdog Realistic Mysterious/Occult I struggle to think what gimmick I would give to a Hulk Hogan. Or a Bret Hart. Or a John Cena. I always used Wholesome with them. I guess Realistic is the only way to go. Also, Weasel and Underdog being lumped together seems odd. A Weasel is a Bobby Heenan, whereas an Underdog is a Daniel Bryan. Oh well.
  18. Doesn' TEW always count the last match as the main event? Or has it been announced that angles can now count as show main events, too, and I've forgottenP
  19. Eddie and Rey at Halloween Havoc 1997 was about 10 or so minutes, and has a ****3/4 rating from Dave Meltzer. In TEW, you would need to stretch it out to 16 minutes to get the most out of it. The most overrated thing in wrestling in my opinion is the long match.
  20. Two days ago, I officially choked my first world record pace speedrun in Mega Man X 100%. As in, I can say the run was realistically on record pace going deep into the late game. So, I guess this means I now have three weeks to grind this out - because I'm taking an extended speed break once TEW comes out.

I've suggested it, actually.</p>
