  1. <p>WWE 2k14 is awful. I actually hate it and have traded it in already.</p><p> </p><p> The gameplay is shocking - it's a reversal-fest and you can't put on decent matches. Every move I do is reversed, every move they attempt I reverse, rinse and repeat (yawn). I could not find a single redeeming feature that made me think "this is actually pretty good". Most of it was a rehash of 2013, I mean the Creation Suite is exactly the same, no new logos etc that I can see, just the same items that were in it the last 4 years so you create the exact same workers as any other year. The title Creation is a bit better than last years. I didn't bother with arena creation or logo creation because I have no interest at all in those things.</p><p> </p><p> 30 Years of Wrestlemania mode - well I gave up on WM1 because it is crap. Tedious mess of John Studd reversing almost everything Andre attempts before glitching into 12 (yes 12) Lou Thesz presses! Pretty shit considering it's supposed to be a powerslam challenge and I cannot figure out how Andre does a powerslam! Tried every combination of buttons I can when Studd is at critical. "The Streak" modes are just as tedious and annoying with 90% of the match just being reversal after reversal after reversal (and no you can't switch the reversals down for this mode).</p><p> </p><p> The "current day" roster is pretty rubbish too. I get it's meant to be full with legends etc which is cool... but David Otunga in the game over the Intercontinental Champion, Curtis Axel? Seriously? 3MB in over The Usos? Too many "who cares" wrestlers in the game and not enough I will ever use (outside of legends). This also makes Universe mode suck. Shame really because WWE games were making some real good steps previously. This just seems like a quick cash in.</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Of course this is just what I think, I'm sure there are plenty of you who do like the game and I respect your right to those opinions and I ask you respect my right to an opinion in the same way. </span></strong></p>

I read a parody article about him hiding and disguising himself right around the Wrestlemania "clear out" every year to avoid Vince. It was a pretty funny read.</p>
  3. And I would have to (politely) disagree. The January 4th Wrestle Kingdom/Tokyo Dome show in Japan it could be argued would also be a Legendary event - especially from their attendances in the 90's averaging over 50,000 spectators. Just because the Western world doesn't really know about something doesn't make it's prestige any less and this is the issue I have. This is my opinion on modding a RWM (for what it's worth). I have built each individual promotion as it's own separate entity and balanced it accordingly, because the WWE is not the be all and end all of the wrestling world, and that is where some real world mods can fail because building everything around the WWE just because it is the most popular promotion in the world doesn't work. NJPW, CMLL and WWE are 3 completely different promotions with nothing in common so why would you build CMLL and NJPW around the WWE? I will listen to valid arguments, and points from anyone who downloads my work but the one thing I will never be swayed on is that you should build a RWM around the WWE. I also don't think you should add 50 promotions you know nothing about because how can you get a correct balance unless there are a team of researchers for each promotion or you have people who watch those shows religiously helping out? I've followed this guide and it has come in extremely helpful (dare I say invaluable) but I still know there is work to be done and constant improvements to my mod, even following this guide.
  4. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="liontamer" data-cite="liontamer" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25169" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>random question....<p> </p><p> caught main event replays tonight. first time I've seen WWE since the Rock lost to Cena. Is it just me, or is the shields theme awefully familiar? Thought it might be a slowed remix of the Batista theme.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You know, I thought the same when I first heard it. It's probably just similar but they do recycle and remix songs for other wrestlers (I can't remember who, but they remixed one of Crush's old themes for someone).</p>
  5. <p>I think most of the divas both past and present thought they were bigger than they actually are. With the exception of Trish Stratus and a few of the earlier female wrestlers, they come in thinking it's an easy way to stardom and after realising it's not bitch that they weren't used properly or held down, shit if you're held down, work harder! Get noticed, in the real world you have to make yourself impossible to replace, unfortunately for them there are 1,000,0000 Marias or Bellas. This isn't to say they are all like that, but you can tell which are. The Funkadactyls are irritating as hell, I must be getting old because I don't understand a single thing they say.</p><p> </p><p> Oh and one thing that REALLY bugs me about the divas? The grunting and screaming they do in the ring after every single move, kick and punch! This isn't tennis! Could you imagine how annoying it would be to hear every male superstar grunt and scream after every move? It riles me up so much that diva matches tend to just get forwarded through quickly... I love you tiVo <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Wow, didn't mean to go on a rant like that but I just hate the divas division, but before anyone chimes in, I don't hate womens wrestling - I just don't like the WWE's version!</p>
  6. <p>If booked right, Randy Orton as a heel could be a great change... but not as the generic heel, he needs that undeterred aggressive, evil streak. 2009 Orton was probably the only time I've found him entertaining so going back to that persona (for me) wouldn't be bad.</p><p> </p><p> I'm just glad Cena's out for a few months so we can get something fresh in the main event for a change. Even without the belt it seemed like Cena appeared in more main events than the Champion. When he returns, maybe it'll be with a refreshed character and not the same fan ass kissing face he's been for the past... er... how many years?</p>
  7. <p>The problem with TNA at times is they go through this "lets throw shit at the wall and see what sticks" before something decent happens storywise. Aces & Eights, was a good storyline but people crapped on it because the people being unmasked weren't International Superstars. What people fail to realise when saying these things is that everyone needs to start their career somewhere... "Stunning" Steve Austin -> The Ringmaster -> Stone Cold. Flex Kavanagh -> Rocky Maivia -> The Rock. Terra Ryzin -> Jean-Paul Levesque -> Triple H. Nobody gives workers a chance any more, they want the pay off NOW NOW NOW! Like I said before, with the exception of Wes Brisco, all those people unmasked look at home in that group. I would have been having WTF moments had it been John Morrison, MVP or Chris Masters being unmasked, but Knux, DOC (curse you for leaving), D-Von all made perfect memebrs, even Bischoff looks like he belongs in the group. Of course, that's just 1 persons opinion.</p><p> </p><p> I think TNA just need to cut their losses and start again. Release the "fringe" talent and higher paid workers who are doing nothing and bring in a few indy guys on PPA deals. Build up their debuts with video hype - get the crowd into them by making them interesting (as I think someone else pointed out). Overall TNA have amazing in ring performers and should be doing a hell of alot better than they are. I would love for TNA to succeed, I honestly enjoy most of the matches but all the while you have Hogan pulling Dixies strings I think they are going to fall flat on their face more times than not. </p><p> </p><p> Anyway I think I'm just rambling on and repeating myself more than Mike Tenay on commentary so I'm going to stop now. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

That way it makes it very simple for potential mod makers to pick a base.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> To save you a PM, my Real World Chronicles data and Diablo X mod are both "freeware".</p>
  9. Because TNA had to pay those talents contracts and couldn't afford it. Bellator are paying Tito Ortiz so there's no cost to TNA. If TNA refuse a Spike request, they're not going to last on the network very long, that's just business whether we like it or not. We all knew it wouldn't be anything huge (which is why TNA didn't even give it a weeks worth of build). If it had been someone big, they would have strung it out a couple of months to keep people guessing and tuning in. August 1 Warning wasn't the reason I watched the show anyway so I didn't care who it was. On a positive note, AJ vs. Aries this week, a match I'd waited to see in TNA didn't disappoint. Manik vs. Sabin was for me a great match too. Always liked TJ Perkins ability. Looking forward to next weeks too with Bad Influence squaring off against each other, as well as Magnus vs. Anderson. Aces & Eights vs. Main Event Mafia on 15th August with the man getting pinned leaving intrigues me.
  10. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Blackman" data-cite="Blackman" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25823" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Just watched Unicorn City, supposedly a geeky movie. Didn't think it was that awesome. Reminded me of Clerks though, as it romanticises the geek lifestyle in the way Clerks does that for slackers (or actual clerks obv).<p> </p><p> A friend told me to watch it. He also told me to watch Krod Mandoon (mini-series). That was hilarious though. Had a lot of laughs. It's downright silly, but that gets me almost all of the times (as Jay and Silent Bob is still one of my favorite movies). Also watched the Emperor's New Groove and that was also right on the spot.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I've got Unicorn City to watch. I'm hoping I enjoy it. I did just watch G.I. Joe: Retaliation and although it didn't really keep me as interested as the first, it wasn't bad for what it was (or at least that's what I think). I also just watched Hamlet 2 which... er... yeah... not really sure what I thought of it to be truthfully honest!</p>
  11. I'm still not sure on whether Sabin being champion is good or not. On one hand I like the fact TNA have put the belt on someone you wouldn't really expect them to - and Sabin is pretty deserving of the belt, but on the other hand I really enjoyed Bully Ray as champion. I'm just going to see where they go with it - hopefully there will be a few more twists before BFG.
  12. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Stennick" data-cite="Stennick" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25170" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>So TNA releases Crimson after putting him over the entire roster for a year? Did they just now figure out that the guy had ZERO heat? They didn't catch onto this while you know they were putting him over as Ginger Goldberg destroyer of worlds? <p> </p><p> None the less they also made their gut check look like a joke. What atleast two of the guys released were brought in via the gutcheck.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Taeler Hendrix decided not to renew her contract and I think Christian York asked to be released due to TNA's rumoured financial state they didn't fight to keep them more than telling them they were done. I may be wrong (it happens more often than I'd like) but it does make the Gutcheck look pointless. I also heard that the reason Adam Pearce lost out to Magno a couple months back in Gutchesck was because he refused the OVW assignment and wanted to be brought into the full roster. It now makes sense why the guy who botched most of his spots got the "contract"!</p><p> </p><p> I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more "fringe" talent cut in the coming weeks because TNA really needs to streamline their bloated roster. They also don't need a developmental promotion so surely whatever money they are paying OVW is dead money.</p>
  13. <p>I have to say I was left with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth after Man of Steel (and not from the overly priced crap tasting popcorn). Usually when I go to the cinema I come out with 2 attitudes, indifferent or raving that what I just watched was amazing. Man of Steel however had me coming out of the cinema saying "Thank **** that's over". No matter how hard I tried to find something that could make me get into the movie and actually care about what was happening I just couldn't. To those of you who liked it all I can say is I'm jealous because I wish I had too! In my opinion it rates lower than the Green Lantern Movie (which again wasn't brilliant but it didn't have me dropping an F bomb upon leaving the cinema either). </p><p> </p><p> I never listen to others opinions on films relating to Marvel or DC... hell any super hero movie to be honest and will ALWAYS go and watch it for myself - even if it gets panned (Elektra) but I did tell a friend afterwards who told me it was "brilliant" and that "I'd love it" to never speak to me again - jokingly of course!</p>
  14. You're entitled to your opinion, doesn't make you a jerk. As for what I'm going to do about it... ummm... maybe employ a favourite of many wrestling fans on other sites and call you some names, talk about your mum and troll a bit because you don't agree with me and my opinion is the all knowing and all conquering "Oz" of opinions? And isn't it what all those cool kids elsewhere are doing? Wait no... we're all grown up's here so I think instead (like your response) I'm just going to be polite and say the "Woo Woo Woo" Here Comes the Choochoo Train gimmick was NEVER entertaining, not even at the start. I agree with you to that extent. Worst thing in WWE right now? No - the gimmick is close, but I liked Ryder before this stupid gimmick. He had potential to be a solid midcard star. Zack's not terrible in ring and can (if given a chance) put on a pretty entertaining match - not CM Punk or Chris Jericho standard but certainly better than some who are getting air time. He's also not bad on the mic (lame ass gimmick aside). My thoughts were just a way to try and freshen him up, give the belt a bit of meaning rather than the trouser belt it appears to be these days and maybe cement both Zack and Fandango into strong midcard wrestlers and in the process get rid of Ryders ridiculous gimmick.
  15. So just heard that Fandango suffered a concussion at the hands of Ryder. Whether legit or not here is how I think the 3 way title match could be "re-booked". Somehow Ryder gets himself into the IC title match as Fandangos replacement. He wins the belt (it's doing nothing on Barrett from what I'm told so could be used in a storyline and help a couple of superstars). Next night on Raw, it is claimed by Miz that Ryder caused the injury intentionally to get Fandangos spot in the match. Ryder denies it and this sets up a match for later on Raw between Ryder and Miz. Ryder, during the match hits the Broski Kick on Miz for the 1,2,3 before smirking to the camera as Miz looks dazed and out of it. Let it build between Miz & Ryder for a bit until Fandango comes back and then have Ryder cut a heel promo saying that in the WWE he has never been given a chance and has had to make his own opportunities unlike Miz and now Fandango who seem to get everything handed to them. He can mention he has worked harder than anyone on the roster but is still over looked by the WWE "powers that be". He admits he intentionally injured Fandango because he figures from now on, he's going to take what he wants and screw what the WWE Universe wants - it's all about Zack Ryder. A bit vague I know, obviously I'm not on creative (nor have I watched Raw since before Wrestlemania) so only went into minor detail, but I think this gives the IC belt some credibility and doesn't hurt anyone involved, - except Barrett maybe, but lets face it, he's not been booked as a strong champion anyway from what I've heard.
  16. I think I heard somewhere Hardy is just resting up and letting a few little injuries heal up. He has put his body through so much over the years it's a wonder he can still walk! TNA might just be trying to use him sparingly.
  17. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Jaysin" data-cite="Jaysin" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25170" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I'm kind of hoping for a Beer Money reunion to go against A&8's(Team 3D).</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I'm hoping for Americas Most Wanted at Slammiversary (I know it won't be).</p>
  18. <p>I'm not really a big fan of Storm. Don't get me wrong, he's a pretty good character, but something about him to me just says he should never be THE guy. To me he has always been a top "tag team guy" and I can't really see him as anything else (but that's just me). He was always the better half of Americas Most Wanted, and the secondary half of Beer Money for me. Roode would always have been my choice as the break out star of that team. I don't like that they've put Aries & Roode in a team and see them feuding with Chavo and Hernandez as a big step backwards. I guess you can't have everyone going for the World Title though. Hopefully this will be Stings last title shot too. Again Sting to me is a legend, he will always be one of the greats, but he doesn't need the rub that a world title match can give.</p><p> </p><p> I think Magnus will definitely be a huge star for the company - providing, of course, he stays with them and stays healthy. the other thing of course is that they don't keep changing him face to heel like they do with so many of their roster within a 12 month period (thankfully it seems to have calmed down a little). I also like Matt Morgan and don't think he would be a bad choice for the World Title but I seem to be in the minority on that point with those I talk wrestling with. Right now I think Bully Ray as champion is working better than I originally thought it would.</p><p> </p><p> I'm tired so apologies if my ramblings bore or make no sense!</p>
  19. Storm and Magnus would be a pretty cool pairing. Not a massive fan of Samoa Joe these days so hope it's not him.
  20. Right I'm not responding to any of the crap about WWE posted in here because this is the TNA forum. I'm not interested in anything WWE is doing right now - if I was I'd go read the WWE thread. I enjoyed the vast majority of Impact this week. The Bad Influence/Aries & Roode match deserved a better ending, but hopefully it leads to a 3 way match against Chavo & Hernandez (who I hate as a tag team) with Bad Influence coming out on top. Also hoping that it'll be the last time we see Chavo and Hernandez as a tag team. I'm tired of all this stereo typical Mexican shit, especially from 2 men born in Texas (yeah it's their heritage... I get it - Latino and all that). Sting and Angles partner was obvious once the camera panned back to the remaining 5 Aces & Eights members beaten down backstage... only one guy in TNA capable of carnage like that on his own! Before that I thought it was just going to be Jeff Hardy returning. Gail Kim is turning into an evil vicious bitch and it's coming across really well - her attack on Tara shows that TNA have some big plans for Gail. AJ Styles brooding is starting to run it's course, I hope they pull the trigger on which way his character is going to go - but with that said it is pretty cool to see him with a bit of a darker personality. Kenny King and Sabins confrontation was good. King is not too bad on the mic. A little clumsy maybe but I think he'll improve that. Everyone seems to hate on Aces & Eights because of their members, I personally think each member (except Wes Brisco) fits in the group well. Brisco just doesn't come across as anything more than a kid playing a character in a school play. I've given him the benefit of the doubt at first - was even optimistic but no improvement. He's not cool, he's not menacing and I think he needs to either work on his character or Aces & Eights need to drop him. Garrett Bischoff has a look about him that fits the group if nothing else but Brisco, absolutely zero charisma and limited in ring skill. DOC & Knux are just bad ass and I think they would be a devastating tag team - my pick as future tag champions. Magnus is another guy I rate highly and I don't think it will be long before he gets some gold. I also think he's a future World Champion. His match with DOC wasn't bad, both guys showed some decent in ring skill, and D-Lo losing his cut and being told he now had to start as a prospect again was a good turn in the story. I thought it was a bit weird that Matt Morgan wasn't on the show, especially given his #1 contender match last week. The other plus point was that Hogan didn't hog the camera time this week. All in all though it entertained me.
  21. I stuck to my word and didn't bother with Wrestlemania this year and to be honest from what I'm reading I didn't miss much. Outcomes were pretty much as people suspected by all accounts and no surprises. Glad to hear The Shield went over Orton & Co. Really can't think of a reason to watch Raw due to nothing noteworthy happening at 'mania and absolutely nothing of any interest going on in WWE as a whole. Final nail in the coffin for me as far as WWE programming goes.
  22. I've never rated Michael Cole, and to be honest I think Matt Striker could do a better job. That's not to say I hate Cole, he is tolerable in small doses. Problem is, I grew up in the era of cheese-fest commentary with the likes of Vince McMahon, Bobby Heenan, Jesse Ventura, Roddy Piper and Randy Savage - which I loved back then - but I was young! Nowadays though I actually prefer listening to play by play from Mike Tenay in TNA (although that Todd bloke and Taz get on my nerves). I'll also always be a HUGE Joey Styles fan (from his ECW days) - for me he is second only to Jim Ross when it comes to the best commentators I've heard. The King & JR played off each other brilliantly in the early days when King was heel and JR was the face. It really worked. It continued to work for a time when King slowly began turning into a face but not for long. It soon became tedious. You either need 1 guy calling the action on his own, or if you're going to do the whole commentary team, you need someone who can put over the heels and play off the guy putting over the faces, it's just more entertaining. As for JBL... he manages to stretch 30 minutes of one liners into a 2/3 hour show by constantly repeating himself or saying the same things from last week that nobody found funny or interesting back then. When he does call the action he is actually very good and knows what he's talking about but I think he needs to do a bit more calling and a little less repeating. Anyway... ramblings over.
  23. No doubt in the WWE, Trish is probably the best they've had in years - for the product they were putting out - and popular as hell. She took the chance given and ran with it. She trained hard and worked to keep her spot - as you said she did have the complete package for a WWE wrestler. Her Hall of Fame induction shows how highly regarded she was by the company. I can't agree she was the absolute best female wrestler in the last 25 years because I think there were many in Japan I would rate higher in terms of charisma, matches and in ring athletic ability. Unfortunately due to the language barrier, many of them wouldn't get over with a US based, Global Sports Entertainment crowd. Sometimes I miss the days of not knowing what will happen in wrestling - that naive child that once thought Hulk Hogan really was immortal, or who laughed when The Mountie was hauled off to jail. The kid who literally jumped up when he heard Bret Hart had won the WWE Championship and got angry when Owen Hart turned on Bret. It used to be compelling but I can't decide if that was because I was young and didn't know better or if the writing has just been on the decline in recent years.
  24. I've been having an "old school" phase recently and just finished watching the Alien films again. Hadn't seen them in years. I also watched Predator and Predator 2 - but can't bring myself to watch Aliens Vs. Predator again. I think once was enough for that film.
  25. If you have a penis and are over the age of 12, you know John Cena's character is stale. Women and children love him. Children because they're easily amused and women because they are probably ring rats that want his babies. There is only so long you can keep "Milking" that cash cow before all of a sudden, he can't go anymore and you forgot to bring up a new cash cow, uh oh... I think WWE had every opportunity to build new stars the last couple of years, Sheamus has made leaps in his popularity (who again I have no time for), Ryback, Ziggler, CM Punk... the list goes on. Seeing Ziggler lose week in week out and then be demoted to a tag team with Big E. Langston leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Now I know CM Punk broke records, held the belt for over a year and such but CM Punk losing to a Peoples Elbow (in my opinion) pretty much killed any credibility in his 400+ day streak and stalled his momentum quite a bit. That was poor match booking and Rock should have at least hit a Rock Bottom for the finish. Ryback, well he's kind of slipping into the midcard rapidly. Randy Orton can't be considered a contender because he has no momentum right now. Turn him heel, and maybe you have something... granted it's just a repeat of a few years ago and no progress for any of the rest of the card for another year. Brock Lesnar I guess would be one feud, but is he now on board full time? And what will that mean for CM Punk? There's of course Sheamus, but the kids love him too (not to the extent of Cena... but he's the only one close) so do you turn him heel and forfeit any chance of making him the next money making machine? I guess my question is, who becomes the next big thing? Have WWE missed the boat on some of the talent they have teased to be contenders just for them to constantly fall short and drop back down the card? What if Cena gets a long term injury, or is forced to retire? What happens then? These are only "what if's" but I'd be interested to see what other peoples ideas are, especially in the case of a long term Cena injury - or indeed which stars WWE should be trying to put in that elite tier at the top of the card.
