Probably a Horsemen turn on him when he causes Flair to lose a non-title match or something like that, and then he can beat Flair for the belt. </p><p> </p><p> His program with Steamboat is going to be great though. A couple of solid technical workers...it's a dream.</p><p> </p><p> I'm also going to try to hold onto the Hollywood Blondes and Dustin and get them all to their full potential. Should be an exciting run for WCW.</p>
  2. Playing a WCW 1993 save (I think it's ScottKen's mod maybe?). Signed Warrior away from WWF to feud with Big Van Vader. He's a natural to pair with Sting as Painted Warriors up top of the card as faces. Signed Mr. Perfect away from WWF and I'm going to work him into the 4 Horsemen with Arn and returned Ric Flair. He's working a program with Steamboat right now to get him into that whole picture. Imagine those matches. But...the big coup is about to happen. I'm going to sign Shawn Michaels to a 10 year deal.
  3. Aaaah, I must have missed reading all the patch notes, since I just pulled the trigger this weekend on purchasing. Cool, thanks! Guess I can always go into the editor and create a broadcaster and a deal if I want to mimic a "sugar daddy takeover" by a media mogul.
  4. Did I miss a change where we're now (1.11) only allowed to Launch Internet-based broadcasters? I thought in prior versions we could launch terrestrial or cable ones...
  5. Weird - thanks. Will see if I can figure out what's going on and if it's just isolated to this DB or what. Edit: Definitely something with the base game. Reoccurs with all of my DBs EDIT2: I didn't read the patch notes for all of the previous patches. This was a designed change. No problems on your end!
  6. Hey - love this time period. Question - I went to do a "sugar daddy" takeover of ECW, and noticed that I can't launch my own broadcaster except for Internet ones. Is that intentional?
  7. Agreed. Sometimes I just want to book "trash wrestling" like this. Bloody-ass brawls and scantily-clad ladies.
  8. Welcome to the wonderful world of "no product fits my needs."

Or don't create any events till you have you workers employed (thought that was the normal thing to do) seems a bit weird to create events before you have a roster. Bit of a non issue inmho.<p> </p><p> Edit: take AEW for example. The got there roster, then announced the show weeks in advance, then booked the show. They didn't announce the show, scramble around to hire wrestlers, then put the show on</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Right, that makes sense if you're starting a new promotion. But if you're taking one over you inherit their existing schedule, which means you can easily get boned. In which case, turning the penalty for this and storylines off until you get "settled" is reasonable IMHO. It's the same suspension of disbelief you have to engage in to believe that your avatar character could just walk right in and take over the book at an established company.</p>

I know a lot of people are very stubbornly against things like that, consider it exploiting the system or cheating. <p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> People need to get a grip. It's a single-player game. If the tool is there to correct the issue but they personally consider it cheating then they should either get over themselves and use the tool, or deal with the penalty.</p>

However, it's too unforgiving at the start of the game.<p> </p><p> Literally, just as I am getting ready to book my first show after signing my roster of free agent talent, I'm getting an attendance penalty out of the box, not because I neglected to do the mandatory pre-booking, but because I literally COULDN'T do any pre-booking, since ... ya know ... I didn't have any wrestlers until just now.</p><p> </p><p> Hell, the biggest stars - the ones who I need to pre-book in order to avoid attendance penalties - tend to take the longest to make up their minds about signing with me.</p><p> </p><p> I don't want to simply disable mandatory pre-booking. It's a great mechanic, in theory. But it needs to be scaled back for my first couple of shows, in order to give me a chance to "get settled in."</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Turn it off and then turn it back on when it's "realistic." I do that with Strict Storylines too. Not fair to start me with a product demanding "X storylines over 70 heat" but not have a preset amount that are there, so that I automatically get dinged on my first card.</p>
  12. I don't leave my laptop on 24/7 though. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's certainly an annoyance. I can deal with having to move the savegame around say via Dropbox - that happens with plenty of games. But having to remember to unlicense the game before shutting down for the night if I'm planning on playing on the Surface and then finding an internet connection so that I can license on the Surface and play while I'm out and about, and then unlicense again when I get home and want to play on my laptop again, and then RElicense so I can play on my laptop that night, is just insane. Maybe doing that enough can bankrupt elicense through server costs though? One can dream. It honestly just means that I'll probably license it on one or the other and then only use it on that one. If I'm out and about I'll play something else, like FM, or I'll only play it on my Surface, which is mostly used outside the house (or as a third screen for entertainment while WFH). Edit: It is what it is, and it sure seems like it's not going to change (which is a shame). I'm not expecting my post to change that at all - that's not my purpose. Just expressing my frustration. The limitation affects my perceived value of the product because it affects my ability to use the product in the (not uncommon I'd wager) use case that I described. I'm getting less value out of the product because I'll be able to utilize it for fewer hours.
  13. This is such a 20th century limitation. I have a laptop for gaming and a Surface tablet that I carry around with me. While WFH I typically have my Surface open to do non-work related browsing. If I want to play on both machines at different times it's crazy that not only do I have to move my savegame around, but I also have to jump through licensing-hoops.
  14. Placement mode and the improvements to auto-booker actually have me generating cards and getting through them in a reasonable period of time. Gonna have to pull the trigger on that purchase now.
  15. Right, now that 1.09 has addressed the booking screen I know what I'm doing with my Sunday.

Similarly, I'm free to spend my money however I see fit, and set whatever criteria I want for that. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  18. Honestly, this along with auto-booker being fixed is single-handedly responsible for me not purchasing the game yet.
  19. This. Just because it's possible that some people "get used to it" doesn't mean that it's better. It's still bad.
  20. Sounds like credit was lost somewhere over the past 10 years. Which is sad, but not terribly unexpected. Have some recognition from me. Thanks man!
