Weird thing I noticed that I wanted to bring up.

Chang Koehan is set as a freelancer while his Permanent Unit partner, Choi Bounge is not. This probably isn't the best setup for AI purposes since the AI likes to sign Permanent Units together. Also CFC's/MDC2's massive stables also probably aren't really good from an AI perspective anymore due to the differences in how stables work in 2020 compared to 2010, but I figure that's more of a later fix than a "now" fix.

Fixed the Choi thing. Dunno how that happened, but it's worth noting that a lot of the fighting-game characters I added into the game came from a fictional mod that I was making from scratch that I eventually cancelled so that I could just build on the 9000verse. Made sure to credit you for catching the mistake, because I appreciate the feedback, and I imagine it won't be the only error that I've overlooked.

Also yeah, I imagine I'm gonna need to really retool how CFC and MDC2 will work; most likely scenario is to eventually split them into even more companies (ie: Nintendo becomes its own company, Marvel and DC become separate companies), but that probably won't be until most of everything from the original conversion of the mod has been touched up.

Hey, so question, I noticed there's a lot of extra pics of characters who aren't free who don't exist in the files yet. Would it be fair to assume that those hint at future plans? or are they nothing anyone should be concerned with?

Because if so, then one of the things I asked for looks like is already happening

All I can say is, I have a lot of ideas roaming in my brain that may eventually show up in future updates ;)

I am open to ideas/feedback in terms of further adding to the database. However, don't expect updates to be frequent, as I only have so much free-time on my hands from week to week.

That looks like a great success story, wumbology55! But after watching a Markyd video this morning I was inspired to look up the complete opposite of a success, my 2013 TNA save. I don’t think I’ve ever shared the stories from this save, so buckle up because it’s full steam ahead~!

My UC is Jeff Jarrett, and I am booking with Dixie Carter as the owner. From the start I knew it was going to be tough, as I immediately had to drop to an Afternoon time slot on Spike after failing their minimum show grade for the previous time slot twice in a row. I also had just over $70K in the bank, when I had several roster members on $100K+ monthly written contracts. However, while both of these hurt me, neither of them measure up to the biggest obstacle to my success in this save: the locker room!

Yes, I am guaranteed at least two negative incidents per show, and my backstage rating has been sitting at 0% since the first six weeks. I sent away some of the toxic influences too (Joey Ryan, Brooke Hogan, Eric Bischoff, etc.), but there were just too many people with negative personality types. I’ve had many walkouts, some of the most notable being Taz (beat up Chris Sabin/got mad about being suspended), Wes Brisco (picked a fight with Bully Ray and got beat up/mad about being suspended), Devon (Same story as Wes, but with KURT ANGLE as the victim), Samoa Joe (wasn’t mad, but decided it was time to leave less than a month after renewing his contract. What a Chad!), and funnily enough Chris Sabin (mad about being fined - even worse, he was my X DIVISION CHAMPION at the time!) The only two guys I’ve outright fired for their locker room antics are Jessie Godderz & Knux, the latter of whom won a $95K wrongful termination lawsuit against us.

I also lost both Tara (the former Victoria) and Taryn Terrell to WWE, which genuinely surprised me. The Hogans and Bischoffs have been allowed to leave, and I fired many members of the locker room who were on written deals in the aftermath of Bound for Glory. I’m working with a skeleton crew now, consisting of the best main event guys and a lot of young, hungry indy guys and gals on handshake deals.

Now onto the real content here, the storylines! Despite the many, MANY bumps in the road getting there, Bound for Glory wasn’t radically different from the real show. Like reality, AJ beat Bully Ray for the World title in the main event after winning the BFG series. In my world, AJ has been undefeated since returning in time for Slammiversary 2013. Aces & Eights fell to pieces as I fired/suspended most of the members in reality, which actually worked very well with my storyline as Mr. Anderson destroyed the group from the inside after becoming its Vice President. Anderson turning on Ray in the main event and then beating him on Impact two weeks later put a stake in the angle’s heart.

Meanwhile, Bad Influence have been tag team champions for nearly six months, though they’ve defended the title far less times than they should have as a result of both men entering the BFG series. Velvet Sky and Kenny King won the Knockouts and X Division titles respectively at Bound for Glory (Gail Kim was the previous KO champ, and the X title was vacant per Sabin walking out). Hopefully the new talent I have brought in can revitalize all of these divisions, as they start out pretty weak.

So, in mid-November I’m $3.5M in the hole. AJ & Sting’s contracts are coming up in a few months. I have no earthly idea how I’m going to recover this company. But I believe it can be done. Wish me luck!

I've yet to have a save with this level of insanity.

Then again, most of my saves have been real-world WWE saves.

Seems like you have been adding alot to the mod and it's nice to see Senran Kagura getting a few characters added, and I am betting that the Dead or Alive promotion is probably going try and bring them in right away unless they have exclusive contracts. With there being more King of Fighters characters added, how skilled are you going to make them when compared to characters from other fighting games?

With DBZ getting more representation, have you added any of the Dragon Ball Super characters, Xenoverse characters or Android 21 from the FighterZ game? also are you open to suggestions when it comes to new workers?

Speaking of DOA, it did get a tiny bit of a change in-universe to better include more of the roster - IIRC it was originally a Women's-only promotion, but I changed it to Integrated so that characters like Bass, Zack and Jann Lee can get involved. Plus obviously characters like Honoka/Marie/Nyotengu got added.

The skills of the KoF characters are relatively varied. Some of the lesser/younger characters have less skill while the older/more notable are more likely to be skilled, sort of a natural power progression.

I imagine I'll eventually add more of the more modern-era characters in a later version, but I'm mainly focusing on the new promotions at the moment. I am open to suggestion but I'm mainly just working on what I feel like I want to add next.

Since you have been adding and changing things, what are some of the franchises you have added or expanded in the mod?

I'd say King of Fighters probably gets the most added representation out of all the franchises that got worker additions in my version of the scenario. The original version already had a bit of SNK representation - Terry, Iori, Rugal, Yamazaki, the Sakazaki family, etc. - but it clearly didn't have a whole lot of it (weirdly enough Kyo Kusanagi wasn't in the latest 'official' version that was released). My version of the data definitely fixes that, I'm pretty sure most of everybody that has been in King of Fighters is in here now. You probably didn't get the tip-off from reading this, but I really love King of Fighters. There's also a couple Samurai Shodown characters in there for good measure.

BlazBlue got a good few characters in there since IIRC the data originally only had Taokaka and that was it.
I've also been working on getting Dynasty/Samurai Warriors characters in there (again, only one was in there originally, Yoshihiro Shimazu of all people).
I also added some Senran Kagura representation - in short, basically everyone from the four major teams in Shinovi/Estival Versus.
Plenty of additions for Persona (another franchise that went criminally under-repped with just Naoto Shirogane to start with). Might make a promotion for that on its own.
There's a few more real-world wrestlers like Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels, Goldust, Cody Rhodes, Young Bucks, etc.
And among the new companies, I've been working on a promotion based on the Yakuza/Ryu ga Gotoku franchise since I've been recently playing those games as well, and much like KoF, there's a lot of characters I can pull from Yakuza to realistically play a part.

The Naruto, Bleach and DBZ representation was slightly spruced up a bit more with some additions that were either not really considered at the time or weren't very prominent until after the later official releases of the data - this was mainly to help balance out the rosters and make it less likely for those feds to start snapping up people left and right. Also a couple more JoJo's Bizarre Adventures characters got added because I know some people probably would love to see more of that.

There's also a planned One Piece promotion that I have set in New Zealand (since Oceania needed representation beyond Pokemon I felt like, and the Oceania area already had a couple workers down there that were pirate characters so...), but that one has been a bit easier to fill out since plenty of the characters featured in the anime were already included.

The last thing I can confidently mention is that there's also two other brand-new promotions that are linked to one another, themed on [adult swim] - one is based off the general programming you'd regularly see, the cartoons and other weird shit you'd probably see on [as] during the 2000s, and the other is based off the anime/AcTN block [as] had, featuring characters from franchises like Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist, FLCL, et cetera. Much like all the KoF-related additions, you can probably tell that I have fondness for [as] based on this.

There's probably more to come for me to add (even though so far I've already added like 200 workers on top of what was already there at the start), but I'm hoping that once I get those four new promotions fully pieced together, I'll put up the data for download, for you guys.

  7. I’d love to link up with you and discuss what changes you’ve made and see if we can collaborate, if you’re interested.

I'm not really the kind of guy who does online collaborative work, but thanks for the offer anyways.

So far I've mainly just been adding workers and stuff revolving around them (ie: relationships, chemistry, movesets).

Fun fact: Some of the workers I added to the mod, were workers I already had made for a from-scratch mod I was working on a couple years ago, that I decided to import and adjust for the timeline and balance set by the 9000verse.

  8. A couple weird things I noticed in the updated SvR mod that I feel need a second look if you have future updates, or at least a bit of elaboration as to why:

    * Gunther is on a one-month 'loan' contract for some reason

    * Jaxson Ryker is on Raw despite the fact that he got released from WWE a while ago; similarly, Steph De Lander and Catalina are on Evolution when they were released, but I dunno if you put them there intentionally

    * Also, Paige manages Steph De Lander, and I'm curious as to why

    * Nikki Cross no longer has the A.S.H. gimmick, dunno if that was an error on your part or if you just prefer her as Cross

    * Naomi is with Evolution but Sasha isn't?

    * Timothy Thatcher is listed in the talents moved to SmackDown (though isn't on the roster) even though he was also released a little while ago

    * Alba Fyre/Kay Lee Ray is on NXT Evolve and not WWE Evolution

    * Obviously some descriptions for the WWE wrestlers are still somewhat inaccurate - stars like Gunther, Max Dupri, Giovanni Vinci, Ezekiel and the like still use descriptions based on their past gimmicks/names. Obviously, no pressure to change those eventually, but just wanted to mention

Will update if there's more weird tidbits I notice while playing.

  9. There is a link to the celebrity photos extension in the TheWho87 database topic. Will I find a database with added celebrities (singers, actors) somewhere that can be used in the game as On-Screen Personality? There is a post on reddit from last year that something is on the forum but I can't find it. Anyone have such a database? Thank you in advance for your help.

There's this "Celebrity Expansion" pack if that'll work for you.

  10. Nash Carter/Zachary Wentz was fired from WWE. He filed to divorce Kimber Lee and is now dating Gigi Dolin/Priscilla Kelly (Dave Meltzer said it on today's WOR).

Am I the only one who feels like the Worker Relationship between Wentz and Kimber Lee should skip past "Divorced" and go straight to "Strong Dislike" or "Hatred"?

I mean... she cost him his job and potentially the rest of his career if he ends up blackballed, I feel like it'd be hard to forgive someone for that.
