Since he's still got probably the best legit athlete resume in the past 50 years, he can afford to look a bit silly on TV so that it's not a foregone conclusion that he's winning his match on Sunday.

The first paragraph is pretty true, the second is pretty out there. There were tons of great matches in the Attitude era. They did a better job of creating new stars, since they pretty much had to, but it was a lucky coincidence that they also had a bunch of great wrestlers who were waiting for a break.

You can only make someone look weak so many times before weak is all people see.

Agree with the second paragraph completely. It may not have been the best "technical wrestling" I've ever seen, but Kane, Taker, Rock, Austin, Trips, Angle, Jericho, and so on and so forth down through much of that roster, put on some amazing matches quality and story wise. Exciting matches almost every night.

It's the show before their PPV event. They have to make the guy thats going to lose look strong going into his loss. Otherwise, if he looks weak before taking a loss, its almost like double the damage kayfabe wise. It's actually kinda smart when you think about it that way.

I get Show coming out on top the show before the PPV. It just seems like Show and Brock would both benefit more from a GOOD brawl, back and forth, won by Show. Brock being a wuss does little for either man.

The top guy is the best because every company has the best worldwide roster assembled (assuming they pretend no other wrestling companies exist...which is usually how they play things) and they are the best of the best.

No, I can't explain what a United States champion is with this logic.

Honestly, United States does make sense to be a secondary championship in that regard. Bray and his boys have looked like idiots for months constantly losing to Punk and Bryan and they finally have some juice to run with now instead of just being full of empty threats. On the other side, Bryan presumably is changing for the time being with months before WM and its pretty obvious he will turn back soon enough, and when he does it will have him in a better place than when he started. I don't know what else the story can do since he's obviously not booked in the WWE title match so working with Bray before snapping out of it at the Rumble seems to be the way to go.

They could always just have Bryan be another lackey in the group and make him look weak again. It is the WWE, burying people is second nature. That said, I'm glad he joined the Wyatt's and gave them some steam. It could be a much needed boost if they book it right.

Of course, I booked the entire thing five months ago and have bullet points for how it all goes down. As long as they don't botch the ending, it should leave everyone better off. Some things have happened out of order and my prediction for Mania puts another out of order, but it's so close to what I have on paper I've debated pressing charges.<img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

We have Brock, we have Reigns, what role is Batista going to fill here? He's just another jacked up guy who couldn't hold a candle to Brock on his best day and Brock's worst, and any good that could've come from a return has been tossed away by advertising his return a month in advance, and then bringing Brock back out of nowhere right in the middle of said hype.

Hope is for Bryan to use the Wyatt's up through the rumble and his whole turn being him using them to get himself the rumble win and Mania title shot.

Then all we have to hope for is Punk winning at EC, and we might have a Mania main event worth watching this year. Given the rule of Mania main events, it can't be Bryan vs. Cena or Orton. It can't be Cena vs. Orton. Severly limits what's left that could actually main event the biggest show of the year.

  16. What's going on with TNA being up for sale? Any leads on who may buy them or how much the company might be going for? Is WWE considering buying it for the video library? Can't imagine WWE using them for anything other than the library.

Lets be honest. It really can't be selling for that much, given the condition the promotion is in at the moment. WCW sold for barely anything, and I'd have to believe it was in slightly better standing than TNA currently is.

I've heard a lot of talk about Spike potentially picking it up, but so far that's just been talk without any real fact to back it up. I've had a couple of conversations with my boss about finding out the specifics. If it's cheap enough and Spike's going to keep it on the air, it could be worth getting an offer on the table.

You may be skeptical about whether this will happen in the long run, and there's nothing wrong with that, but to complain about it not happening in the second night is really reaching.

Most other heel stables didn't call out the ENTIRE ROSTER the second night of it's debut and make them all look pathetic.

Weren't you the one who was saying "They can't fire everyone! If everybody walks down the ramp against the bullies they will win!" So which do you want to happen? The entire roster coming down to Bryan's rescue and completely neuter the heel stable on the second night of their debut and "look like bad guys for using numbers?" Or a few select babyfaces to do that and get fired, because while McMahon can't fire EVERYONE, he can jolly well fire the 3-4 babyfaces that may be thinking of helping Bryan out.

If everyone the SHIELD jumped decided to jump them back at the same time, it'd be turn about is fair play. Until now, they weren't spitting in the face of EVERYONE on the roster in one night. It's not even about helping Bryan. I know Stone Cold set up the fantasy image of how the good guys must always rebel against the evil boss, but realistically, such characters should be extremely rare. Most people simply won't risk their jobs that way, especially not for a guy who probably wasn't even their friend. I can see rare circumstances like the Usos being willing to stick out their neck for each other, but I don't see anyone (kayfabewise) who would do that for Bryan besides possibly Kane. At this point, HHH and Orton hasn't done enough harm to the rest of the roster yet to trigger that kind of reaction.

They've taken away everyone's ability to have an opinion and made them all stand on the stage and lose whatever dignity they may have had left. That'll be like picking up a fairytale book, reading only the first 2 chapters, and then go on to complain "Hey, this book is a bad example to kids because the bad guys don't get punished and get away with all the bad stuff they did!", despite the fact that the ending of the book may very well have ended with the bad guys getting their comuppance.

Are you seriously expecting the WWE to erase every trace and element of bullying from their angles and storylines? Neither have even seemed all that upset by the situation.

I don't expect bullying to be gone. I do expect a bunch of grown men who travel the country preaching standing up for what is right to stand up for what is right. Not doing anything basically tells kids they've been lying, and standing up to bullies is a bad idea. It's just going to end worse for you.

To me, one of the many things that really weakened the Nexus' image as a threat was the fact that on the second week of their debut, John Cena summoned a bunch of allies and immediately neutered their one and only strength, numbers. Something like that should only happen near the end of the storyline, where all individual attempts at tackling the stable by themselves have failed. If you're going to throw water on the Wicked Witch in the 1st or 2nd chapter, you might as well just end the story right there. Daniel Bryan is the protangonist now, let him be the sole underdog in the spotlight standing against the bullies for now, and see how things go down in the future.

You don't know how things are going to go down?

Bryan wins the belt at Survivor Series. Orton wins the belt back at Royal Rumble. The rumble then becomes a battle to see who takes on Orton at Mania to finally put an end to this stable.
