  1. Damn, the elbow looked pretty stiff. I also like how the "bleep" sound missed the "sh!t" in "bullsh!t". EDIT: Just saw the whole show from last night. Steen and Corino are just too, too good right now. I hope DBD only enhances the feud between them and Cabana/Generico.
  2. Regarding the whole Daniel Bryan deal...I think it's funny that in WWE, every employee will swear up and down to you that they are not in the wrestling business, they're entertainment, and that the so-called wrestling media is beneath them. Then they run what is essentially a classic invasion angle (we've all seen stuff like this before in various places, haven't we?) and go very far out of their way to work the wrestling media they claim to hate. He's not gone, it's just an angle.
  3. Anyone planning on ordering DBD VIII? I'm pretty tempted. But with the big Lesnar vs. Carwin PPV coming soon after, I don't know how much disposable income I'll have. The price is right for the ROH show...but that UFC show is a must see for me. Two big shows worth ordering? These are good problems to have.
  4. I thought the video package they put together for the Austin Aries/Delirious angle was pretty strong. Was that in-house, or from TWS?
  5. There may have been a time when you could have dismissed ROH for having, and I quote, "Skinny white kids flipping around high school gyms." Hell, I may have even thought that a few times But those days have long since passed. The wrestlers there are top-flight, blue chip athletes in most cases. Some may be a little short on charisma, but since Jim Cornette has become a regular fixture in ROH, promos and angles have improved tenfold, IMHO. There are like six or seven angles right now, all built on personal issues, and they all make good sense. If you're a fan of good pro wrestling, then ROH is the place to be, baby.
  6. <p>The iPPV format seems to work well enough. I ordered the Big Bang, I was not disappointed.</p><p> </p><p> I just watched the latest ROH On Demand. Prince Nana is pure gold.</p><p> </p><p> "Balls? I didn't come to New York for Balls."</p>
  7. I'm really digging the Steen/Generico program as well. Good fire for the babyfaces, good heat for the heels. One of the best feuds I've seen lately.
  8. You could put Dwight in there against Kendrick Perkins and watch him do the J-O-B.
  9. Kenny King, I think, can be a huge star. Good talker, great look, and plenty of flash in his repertoire. He'll be working a World Title program in the next year or so I hope. I sure hope the tag team scene doesn't change much right now, I really want to see this KoW vs. The Briscoes feud play itself out. Hero is such a good heel. Gotta love that young knockout kid.
  10. So, Mr. Revis, he of the Jets, says he is looking for a contract in the vicinity of $20 million per year. I'd put cornerback in the top five or six most important positions on a team, but that seems like a high price tag for a DB. Granted, that's what he publicly wants, not what he privately expects, but still. As has been said before, against a QB that has ample time to throw, a $20 million dollar corner isn't going to look spectacular.
  11. American Males, American Males, American Males, American Males, American Males, American Males.
  12. If ever there were a man who needed a good old-fashioned punch-to-the-junk, it's Bubba. This war...it would be like if one side of the war had tanks and napalm and Green Berets, and all you had were a bunch of crippled kids throwing dirt rocks at the tanks. I would watch Impact tonight, but I think "The Jetsons" is on so...I dunno...35 year-old cartoon, or 55 year-old wrestlers? Tough call.
  13. God of War was the clincher for me. The Ratchet and Clank series sold my girlfriend on it. And MLB the Show...so, so good. I made a closer, did like 3 seasons with him. Too fun. Can't wait for Red Dead Redemption on Tuesday as well. And something new that grinds my gears...when your local hockey team lets a 3-0 series advantage slip to a 3-3 tie (goddammit Bruins!)
  14. I always prefer a little padding to the hard-bodied look. I don't want to bruise myself.
  15. To be fair, I think we're all still waiting for the "Cornette Hates and Murders Russo" videogame series. So there's one medium. I certainly question the intelligence of sending something like this to someone in Taylor's position, but I never really considered that there was any real intent. I just saw it as venting, however over the top and ridiculous it might be. He would have been better served putting something like this in a journal. Cornette's never killed a fly so far as I know, so he's cool with me. Hell, you can bet your ass I've thought about killing people I really dislike. Not Russo, since he's not on my personal list. And not over something like wrestling or entertainment. But other people of varying degrees of badness? Yeah, I would very much like five minutes in a room without windows taking extreme liberties with these people. But then, some people say I'm an angry person.
  16. That may be the understatement of the year. But hey, maybe if I saw Russo crossing the street, my foot might just become paralyzed and thus be unable to reach my brake. Don't sue me!
  17. Given Cornette's violent and graphic tirade that earned him a cease and desist letter from TNA's lawyers, I think you have about as much chance of him going back to that company as you have of seeing a donkey fly over your house. ROH, baby. That's the place to be.
  18. Man, oh man, would that ever be sweet. But yeah, Remi, what you say is pretty spot on. The Titans really ought to pay the man, and he is the one who justifies the big bucks on that team. I understand that the NFL philosophy on running backs of late has been to try and find value in the middle rounds of the draft or to grab a middle of the road free agent and put him behind a good O-line and QB, but there's a difference between good backs and great backs, and CJ is a great back. Probably the best in the league. I have no love for the Titans (it goes back to a comment made by Zach Pillar after the Titans lost to the Pats in the 2003 division playoffs) so I would love to see them bungle their handling of Johnson.
  19. I think there was a point right around the time that WWE started the ECW rehash that Rhino could have been huge. He cut this super emotional promo about what the old ECW stood for, what he stood for and all that stuff. The live crowd was so into it, but they never went anywhere with it. Typical TNA. Too bad, because he had a great look and was a good worker that the people really bought into.
  20. Damn, Hyde, that would be down right...logical. We can't have that, now can we?
  21. WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT???!!! "Awful" doesn't do it justice.
  22. His heel promos remind me a little of Mick Foley's ECW anti-hardcore stuff. Not so much the content, but some of the delivery. It helps that I'm a mark for Corino, too. Finally got around to watvhing the Big Bang, too. Awesome show...I was surprised by how competent Kevin Kelly was on play-by-play. Too bad we're stuck with the Hog on HDNet.
  23. Yeah, I'd accuse him of being one of the writers, but that's just too low of an insult.
