Yeah, if someone has 5% overness in a couple of linked regions and 10% in your home region, I think that trumps just 12% in your home region, for an example.

Cool, thanks. I was assuming it was already taking these into account, but I guess it wasn't.

Turned out to be a moot point anyway, as the Main Event->Midcard champ ended up being signed by NOTBPW and saying she was too big for me now when I tried to see how much they were offering. So she dropped it right back anyways.

  2.
Sorry, maybe I was unclear. I'm an E in Tri-State, but got enough that I hit F+ in the spillover regions.

And yes, having them go up and down has happened. But this was just *such* a big difference that it threw me off, and I had to ask about it. Thinking that maybe it was "F+ in region means we're active there" or something.

  3. Ok, maybe this should go in the 'small questions' thread, but I wasn't sure how small it would actually be.

So, I just hit the point where spillover from my primary region bumped me up to F+ popularity. Yay.

Then, the next day, I got complaint emails from three of my workers about their push. No biggie, I usually hit the autopush once a month anyway, and I hadn't done it yet.

After doing so, take a look at my overview. My workers are all jumbled up. Someone who had been pushed as a Lower Midcarder (and just taken a loss) is now a Main Eventer. My Main Eventer who just won the title is now a Midcarder. People pushed all around, up and down.

    And I don't get it.

The only thing I can come up with is that because we hit that magical F+ mark, suddenly the autopusher (and the workers themselves) are comparing popularity across those regions as well when they weren't before? Is this how it works?

Is there some other things I have to keep in mind for the pushes? Other magic lines to cross?

  4.
2021 is done.

With Ekuma stolen before January show, Openweight title started the year vacant. I created a tournament title to be held every January (The Buy-In Tournament), and decided the winner would be given a title shot against Juana Huracan in February. California Love Machine was given the bump as thanks for his complaints. He would go on to claim the title in February, and hold it until August, when Riley McManus would become 3-time champion after pinning Fro Sure in a triple threat. Riley has turned heel (I didn't have anyone better at heel, and my split was way off), and is dodging challengers left and right. Claire Winters is the top face right now, though JOJI and CLM are both up there as well.

Blue Chip Championship started the hear with Frankie-Boy Fernandes. He held it until February, losing to Joaquin Sanchez, who passed it on to Amber Allen in June. She has the best reign thus far, defending three times in 5 months before losing to Cali Slick in November. He is the current champ.

PWC joined RIPW in declaring hostility towards W$W.

I got Brandon Smith back, joining Running Wolf as my top faces in a program with Riley. Then TCW went national. Both of them signed pretty quickly -- I got two more matches out of Smith. Guess it was not meant to be.

Up to the 30th most important promotion in the world. Last show had an attendance of 883; closing in on that 1000 mark. Roster was reloaded a bit after TCW called, and now my main event is heel-heavy with Nick Booth, Charger Siaki, Riley McManus all being heels and Claire Winters being the only face. I'm surprised she's stayed up there, honestly. I never expected her to be the original signing to stick around.

End year roll was to hire a dirty doctor...and yeah, that's just not going to happen. I can't see Riley telling me to do that, and I wouldn't. So, for the first time, I'm rerolling. And I swear, that's all the cheating I'm doing.

2022: Link To The Past: +5 to Chain Wrestling

Brawling has finally crossed into the D- range. Chain Wrestling has now gone up to a 64. Other in-ring stats just plodding along. Basics has cit C+, Psychology a C, and Safety a B-. Entertainment stats seem to have hit a plateau; none of them have effectively changed this year, though I think I wasn't doing as many angles with Pennyworth either. Respecct has crossed into the E range, and Reputation has reached that magical 100 mark.

Pennyworth has been having some decent matches, a C match against Amber Allen in September being the best. I'm trying to work him with her a bit, because she's better at technical. He went 5-6 this year, yet his momentum is still high.

  5.
5th year of Wall Street Wrestling is in the books.

I introduced a mid-level title for the undercard to fight over in February, with a multi-month tournament leading up to it's being awarded at the June finale show. Americal Elemental II claimed the inaugural Blue Chip Championship, and held on to it for 3 months before losing to Frankie-Boy Fernandes in a fatal-four-way match. Fernandes has defended it twice in the three months since then. I suspect that the title reigns for this belt will fall in the 2-6 month range most of the time. Pushing too many wins on a guy with the belt gets them up out of the range of where the belt is supposed to be.

Claire Winters started 2020 as the Openweight Champion, but dropped it in March after 5 successful defenses to Richard Pennyworth III, making him a 2-time champion. He spent 6 months ducking challengers, defending the belt 3 times in that period, once losing due to a countout. He defeated California Love Machine in October to retain, something CLM was absolutely furious about. I couldn't make him willing to lose, but I'd already decided who was going to be the next to hold it. In December, Ekuma took the belt off Richard, and ends the year as champion.

In other news, I hired Bulldozer Brandon Smith in May, planning on him taking the title off Pennyworth sometime around August. He signed a touring contract with PGHW, and went and broke his neck after I had used him in one match--a Called Shot battle royal. He's got another 9 months or so before he's back. I almost thought it had happened a second time; I hired Cali Slick and 3 days later I get note that he was injured...but it was just an 8-day injury that didn't even end overlapping any of my shows.

In November, RIPW declared hostility towards me. First promotion relationship right there. McManus and Cattley (the current CEO) gained a simmering tension relationship out of it.

In regional battles, I've now won the last two in a row, and it's now in a field of 5, as Vibert is trying the whole hardcore thing again, opening up PWC in the Tri-State. So now the Tri-State region has W$W, PWC, NYCW, RIPW, and MAW fighting.

Unfortunately, some promotion that doesn't even have a logo, Radical Wrestling Forever in Mexico, took the Most Improved Company this year, even though W$W won it last year.

Colour sticking at 1, Announcing and Refereeing at 0. I've tried to bump his reffing skill up a little, but despite using him as ref in a bunch of dark matches, I'm seeing no improvement (not even in the editor). Anyone know if he needs to be pushed as a ref to get gains there?

With my heel performance at 97, I think I'll just bump that up to 100, and put the rest in face, bumping that to 37.

For once, moving forward, owner goals have nothing to do with money. I can't fall below Small, and I can't fall below #33 (currently #32). Means I'm ok spending a bit on contracts to try to break that D+ ranking. I have hope for January's Main Event of Juana Huracan vs Ekuma for the Openweight Championship...

EDIT: So much for that. Ekuma got snaked by RIPW before my January show. Back to the drawing board.

  7.
Well, in the last 6 months I've had lots of old big names die. Sam Strong, George DeColt, and Crippler Kingman were the biggest.

Also, I finally broke 4 digits on a salary and hired Bulldozer Brandon Smith. One week later he signed a touring contract with PGHW. I used him one show before he went out on tour, which I expected, but put him in a program with the champ regardless. First match of the tour, he breaks his neck. Out for a year plus.

    User Character

My user character is Richard Pennyworth III; modeled after one of my e-fed characters. He's a legit millionaire, which I did change from the original starting conditions, but that doesn't seem to have any effect as long as a user is playing him, so all's fair. He's a technician, was great in college amateur wrestling. Tried to write him up in that same way.

    The Company

The company is again, based on the same e-fed, a company he would have started. He obviously didn't in this case, but I had a logo, so Wall Street Wrestling was born in the Tri-State region.

This is actually the second attempt. My first went about a year and was so far in the red it wasn't funny...and I'd forgotten to update the location, so WSW was in the North West.

For an owner, I did some sort of searching that I haven't been able to replicate (you'll see me try if you watch that video), and inspired by Historian's "The Climb" diary, I went with Riley McManus as my owner. A starting salary of $700 is rough, but since he doesn't charge me for a while it works out.

The product - Heavy Traditional, Medium Mainstream, Very Low Cult, Medium Modern, Heavy Realism, and Low in Hardcore, Lucha, Pure, and Daredevil. There is a face/heel divide, and women are integrated. 60% intensity, 40% danger, match ratios of 90/80.

    Year 1 - 2016

The first year was rough. I was hemorrhaging money, and slowly but surely whittled my roster down to people I could pay under $200, with a couple of exceptions. It turned out Fearless Blue had great chemistry with Riley, and JOJI had great chemistry with Pennyworth, so both of them got to stick around despite larger paychecks. At the end of the year, I was about $10k in the red, though I don't think I ever quite hit that 5 figure mark. I only have one championship [can't afford tag teams, and with a roster hovering in the 7-10 people range, there's no need for an undercard belt--even 4 years in, that remains the same]. The inaugural WSW Openweight Champion was RileyMcManus, naturally. He held it for 10 months, defending it 7 times. In the meanwhile, Pennyworth was losing his way up the card, and by October was being classified as a Main Eventer. Pulled the trigger, and gave him the belt in October, and he was still champ at the end of the year.

    Year 2 - 2017

My frugality was starting to pay dividends, and in April 2017, I finally managed to turn a profit for a month. I think it was around a $20 profit, but it was indeed a profit. Running bare bones refs, no announcers or color commentators, no locker room leaders, and Reese Paige is sitting on the sidelines as Riley road agents most matches, with someone else filling in for whatever match he's in on the card.

This is good, because his owner goals were to have a $10,000 balance by the end of 2018 and to not fall below #40. But two promotions have opened, and I'm sitting at #42...rough.

Pennyworth holds the title until June of 2017, defending it 5 times. In the meantime, I'd hired Logan Wolfsbaine for around $200 or so, and he was lighting up the ratings, pulling (relative) A* matches out of everyone he was up against In June, he took down Pennyworth and grabbed the belt, and would hold it for the rest of the year.

At the end of my second year, goals trip. I fail the one--I'd gotten up to #41, but hadn't had enough closings/wins in the regional battles to bump back up to 40. However, at the end of the year, I had around 14k in the bank, so yay me.

    Year 3 - 2018

Riley's given me two compatible goals this time. Don't go into debt. Ok, fine--I wasn't planning on it. Second, have a bank of $25k by the end of next year. My profits are around $600 each month at this point, but I'd have to play this right.

The profits continued, and relatively early in this year I made the jump to Small. Immediately started taking penalties for my production values, but there was just no way I could afford to bump them up. Dropped back down to local. Then the next two months, did the hokey pokey again. After that, I fixed max size at Local for the time being. I'll let my popularity bump up a bit without being considered a 'competitor' of RIPW, NYCW, MAW, and GSW. (I think PSW was still around at this point as well, but they've since closed so I don't remember exactly when). I do cheat on occasion to get my exact popularity score, and see that even with the regional battles still hitting, I'm gaining slowly but steadily (usually around 0.1% a month. It's a SLOW battle, but I'm winning). Usually RIPW takes #1, but I'm doing fairly well holding at #2 most months. Occasionally MAW takes that slot, dropping me to #3, but I don't think I ever hit #4.

Logan continues his reign as champion, bringing me my first matches rated in the Cs. He is finally defeated in July 2018 after over a year as champion and 13 successful defenses by Seth Whitehead. Seth holds it for a couple months, but his contract is up and he's wanting a huge pay raise (I think he was going from the $230 range to the $650 range), and that's just not happening. He drops it in October after only a single successful defense to Riley McManus, now a 2-time champion. Riley holds the title through the rest of the year.

    Year 4 - 2019

The plan had been to turn Logan heel and have him fued with Riley, eventually becoming a 2-time champ in his own right. RIPW had other plans, however, and snagged him (where is now champion). He remains the only stolen worker thus far.

I've started actually using storylines -- my product doesn't require them, but it's keeping me focused. A lot of the undercard is still kind of just hanging out, but I still don't think I have enough of them to justify their own belt.

Riley held the belt until July, where he dropped it to someone who's been around since our second show, Claire Winters. The first female to hold the belt (I've had 2-4 on the roster at most times), but it was time. She was auto-pushing to Main Event for a while, and most of the other top heels had already had at least small programs with Riley, while Pennyworth was busy with another story. She took the belt, and around August or September turned face thanks to Pennyworth finishing up his other program and starting one with her. As of January 2020, Claire still holds the belt, and has 3 successful defenses. Right now, I'm thinking Pennyworth will be the one to take it off of her, but probably not right away.

    Roster

In the absence of Logan, American Elemental II has been carrying the bulk of the 'carry people to amazing matches' duties. He's only up to a Midcard status right now, and still has negative momentum because I was jobbing him out for so long. He's gone 7-13 since he started in June 2017.

Another guy that has been slowly moving up the ranks is Texas Hangman. He was the big man for a while, destroying the lower rank little guys and losing to the higher rank little guys. He's currently up to an Upper Midcard status, having gone 11-6 with 2 draws since his debut in June 2017.

Bruce Garofalo, who I think is a generated worker (I turned it on to medium in late 2016 or early 2017) from the TITAN Factory has been up and down the card based on the number of people. He's an Obese Heavyweight with a Slob gimmick rated Great, and is consistently in the Creative Meeting's 'next big thing' category.

And finally, Joaquin Sanchez. Came out of WWA:Mexico and is the protege of Cique Jr. I'm actually not sure if he's generated or not. He is a Super Heavyweight with the Giant gimmick, and has been in WSW for a year. In that year, he is undefeated, with 9 wins. At least two of those wins were when he was down the (Lower Midcarder both times, I think), and an upper-carder was on their way out. Destan Boucher wanted a pay raise from $210 to $740, so he looked at the lights for the giant. The very next month, Robin DaLay wanted a $300 raise, so he jobbed out as well. He has climbed the card to the Main Event, and is currently aligned with Pennyworth. I was going to have Logan be the one to eventually knock him off, but, well, that's changed. I've pulled in a couple more expensive guys as I start to make more money, but none of them seem quite right for the task yet. So he may be undefeated for a while longer.

    Mystery Box

January of 2017 gave me Pop Goes the Weasel...+20 to Weasel performance. Eh. Whatever.

2018 rolled Forgive me Father. +20 to Religious. Groan.

2019 was where Joaquin Sanchez came from. Chance Encounter was rolled. I rolled randomly (it says you can pick, but whatever), and came up with Mexico. Counted how many people were active and unemployed in Mexico, and rolled randomly on that, and Joaquin Sanchez became my friend. I offered him a job, and he came stat.

2020, just rolled, is Link to the Past, +5 to chain wrestling. That's nice, because that didn't seem to be growing on it's own.

    Current Status

WSW stands at Small, routinely coming in 2nd in the regional battles. My bank account is at $29,096 with 3 days left to hit Riley's $25,000 goal. I think I'll be ok there. I did just take a $5,000 loss in December, but that's because I was selling out the Weston and seeing about 45 to 50 people not getting a seat, so I made my own venue, The Exchange, which seats 450. I had previously created one called The Trading Floor that sat around 125, which worked until I allowed myself to make the jump to Small. Sold that one, and upgraded. I don't know if Selling Out an arena makes a difference, but I like the idea of using my own home instead of a generic location.

WSW is a F+ in popularity still in the TriState, but last time I looked we were around 15.5%, so pushing towards that E-. Spillover has brought the Great Lakes, Mid Atlantic, and New England to an F. Current "Hot Prospects" are Blue Phantom, Bruce Garofalo, American Elemental II, Marjorie Deleon, and JOJI.

    Resilience 100

    Microphone 22->24

Charisma 33->37 (took a 2 point jump in October, though I'm not entirely sure why)

Acting 28->30 (a similar 2 point jump in June)

Star Quality 78; this has taken jumps a couple times, once when Pennyworth switched to Muscular, and again when he switched to Ripped.

Sex Appeal 64; the same two jumps for toning.

    Menace 10; ditto.

Announcing and Reffing have stayed at 0, but I've gotten a point in Colour. Respect has gone 14->18 in the last year, and Reputation has gone from 74 to 89, with an 11 point jump in August that I can't explain.

Pennyworth's best match is a C- against Logan Wolfsbaine in Juine 2019. In fact, 6 of his top 10 have come with Logan. Another 3 have had Claire Winters in it.

Full Roster at this time is:

    American Elemental II

    Aubrey Morel

    Beth Deeley

    Blue Phantom

Bonnie Clyde [was dating Christopher Ball, who was going up the charts...then cheated on him with Logan Wolfsbaine. Sorry, Chris. Bu-bye]

    Bruce Garofalo

Claire Winters [Current WSW Openweight Champion]

    Dewey Libertine [Referee]

    Frankie-Boy Fernadnes

    Joaquin Sanchez

JOJI [Just rehired, hasn't re-debuted yet]

    Katie Jones

    Kip Keenan

    Marjorie Deleon

Raheem Stash [Just hired, hasn't debuted]

    Richard Pennyworth III

    Ricky Turner

    Riley McManus

    Swipe Romero

    Texas Hangman

    Vixxen [Road Agent]

    Zel Quinn

When I hired Dewey, he was a locker room leader. Then he suddenly wasn't anymore. I was starting to make money at that point, so I brought in an announce team for a while in Herb Stately and Rob Miskovsky. At the same time, I brought in Vixxen, swapping Reese Paige out. Herb and Vixxen were then my locker room leaders. After the bouncing around, and trying to counter the production values of my rivals, I had to drop the announce team. Soon after that, Vixxen lost her locker room leadership. NOW, Dewey has it again. It's official, I don't know how locker room leadership works.

TL;DR: In 4 years, I've gotten up to $29k in the bank, I'm small and growing, and my user character has gotten ripped and sexy.

  9.
North American Heavyweight Championship: Primus Allen vs. Spencer Spade ©

I could be wrong here, but I think Primus goes over to keep the feud going -- I think the story ends if Spencer wins.

Special Attraction: Ross Henry vs. Gino Montero

Ross needs to build momentum again.

Six Man Tag: Brandon Smith & The Mission vs. Bowen Services

Bowen wins to make up for Spencer losing.

North American Tag Team Championship: NOTBPW's Brett Starr & Donte Dunn vs. Homegrown ©

Homegrown just won. Not time to lose yet.

North American Women's Championship: Tiffany Jade vs. Jaime Quine ©

I just don't think Jade is ready.

Grudge Match: Georgia Bulldogs vs. The Hazard Gang

Toughest one to call, I think. In fact, in an earlier attempt that didn't post, I think I put this the other way.

United States Championship: Johnny Anderson vs. Funakoshi ©

Funakoshi may just be a transitional champion, but I have a feeling he's going to get a strong run.

Special Challenge: Houston Handley vs. Alicia Strong

    Please.

  10.
Quick Picks

NA Heavyweight Championship: Ross Henry vs. Spencer Spade © w/ Lisa Bowen

Comments: I think it's still too early for Spencer to give up the belt again.

Grudge Match: Matty Faith vs. Ash Campbell w/ Lisa Bowen

Comments: To even it up, leading to one final match later.

Grudge Match: Primus Allen vs. Harvey Robbinfield

Comments:Primus is still in the 'returning' phase, and should be strong here.

Loser Leaves Town: David Stone vs. Paul Huntingdon

Comments: I'm still rooting for a David Stone / Cameron Vessey IronMan match, and Paul has apparently been unhappy.

NA Tag Team Championship: Homegrown vs. The Devil's Rejects w/ February Malaise vs. Gangsta Nation © w/ Brother G

Comments: I can't decide, so by default, stick with the champs.

NA Women's Championship: Brooke Tyler vs. Jaime Quine©

Comments: Is it time yet? I dunno, but since I'm calling the others to retain, I'm saying this is a switch.

Tag Team Match: The Keith Brothers vs. Bowen Services w/ Lisa Bowen

Comments: Fresh off their huge tournament showings, the Brothers should continue their roll.

GWC World Six Man Championship: The Fallen w/ Father Grim vs. The Diaz Family

Comments: I think this sticks in place for now. I'm really surprised that Mexico hasn't put their guys in place on this one yet.

United States Championship: Dillion Wiuff vs. Cali Slick ©

Comments: Cali holds on this time.

ooh, first (posted) predictions for me. Hooray for being caught up.

I'm glad you're enjoying the diary. I have to thank King_Bison for most of the renders, particularly the big heavyweight renders. He has made most of them -- a lot of them at my specific request.

Well, then, King_Bison ... you don't happen to have a zip file of a bunch of renders I could snag do you?

  12. Sneaking in between Days 1 and 2 to comment. I've spent the last week catching up on this -- the first diary that has sucked me in since Scapino's back in the day. I love all the render's you are using; one thing that's always hurt my immersion is the 'big heavyweights' looking like scrawny dudes. Can't tell you how long it took me to realize Skull DeBones was supposed to be huge.

Love where you're going. You've got another reader.

  13. Just to double check I fully understand the last bit. I generally book in order from the start of the show to the end (Match #1 first, Main Event last for example) . Does this now mean each time I put in a new segment I will have to move it from the bottom to the top?

If so, is there any chance this could be a chooseable option or would that not be possible?

Fully agreed. I tend to book my shows how I'd view them. I certainly show the Main Event on the bottom. While I often shuffle things around after I fully book the show to what I hope is the right flow, this would require me to basically reorder the entire show every time. Having this an option, similar to how we can display the ME on top or bottom, would be very helpful.

I was also thinking that instead of just "Independent Show from XXX", give the 'company' an acronym of 3-4 letters. Doesn't need a name, but if it was something like "GYE (Independant Company in XXX) held a show..." Even better if it remembered the ones it used and occasionally went back to them.

The Independents, after all, would theoretically just be promotions too small to be modeled in TEW.

  15.

It's my understanding that a "real" calendar would be a programming nightmare with the way things are setup in TEW. The 48 week calendar is simpler and easier. I don't mind it, personally. But I can see why it might bother other people.

Yeah, this; mainly with repetitive events. Just look at this month. If I schedule an annual event on March 22nd -- do I want it to always be the 22nd, or do I want it to be the 4th Friday, or do I want it to be the next-to-last Friday? Or do I just want it to be 'around' the 22nd, and the actual day is flexible? There are ways around it, but always being on the same day is much easier to program...and you just can't do that using a real-world calendar.

All that said, I was disappointed when the series moved away from Real-World, and I'd love to see it go back.
