Dormant since 2005, this round robin tournament will pit 6 of NJPW's top young lions against each other. Tonight's matches saw Hirai Kawato defeat Tetsuhiro Yagi, Katsuya Kitamura beat Ren Narita after a vicious Jackhammer, and Shota Umino pick up an upset win with a Horizontal Cradle on Tomoyuki Oka. As with most LION'S GATE shows, this event saw some participation from outside wrestlers. Okada barely escaped tonight as champion, as EVIL's vicious offense pushed the champion to the limit. Even in defeat, EVIL looked just like the main event star many fans think he can become, and put on a Match of the Year quality bout. Okada successfully defended his title for the 8th time, and is now all but guaranteed to break Hiroshi Tanahashi's record of total combined days as IWGP Heavyweight Champion. On the morning of January 4th, 2018, Okada will have held the title for 1,359 combined days, one more than Hiroshi Tanahashi's current record of 1,358. However, Tetsuya Naito is determined to stop this record at 1,359 days. He showed his determination by besting Tomohiro Ishii in a brutal match that was perhaps even better than any of their previous contests. Los Ingobernables de Japón were immensely successful tonight, as Naito wasn't the only member to win. In the other big singles match, Hiromu Takahashi defeated Will Ospreay to solidify himself as the #1 Contender to the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title, which was successfully defended by KUSHIDA against Tiger Mask later in the night. After the title match, Hiromu made his way down to the ring to confront KUSHIDA once again. Their title bout will be the 5th singles match between the two, and each man has 2 wins. Hiromu was not the only wrestler to issue a title challenge. After pinning Tama Tonga, Beretta got on the mic and challenged Kenny Omega for the United States Title! Beretta said that he wants to take on the best heavyweights Bullet Club has to offer, and that no one is better than Omega. After their six man tag match, Togi Makabe confronted Michael Elgin backstage, challenging him to a match for the NEVER Openweight Title. These two are more friendly rivals than enemies in opposite factions, so Elgin was more than willing to test his mettle against Makabe. Suzuki-gun maintained their supremacy in the tag team division, as both Killer Elite Squad and Taichi and Yoshinobu Kanemaru retained their titles. KES will most likely go into the World Tag League as champions, while Taichi and Kanemaru will enter the Super Jr. Tag Tournament, which is the last item of note. After Taichi and Kanemaru retained the title, Rocky Romero came out to the ring and announced that he has not forgotten about Roppongi Vice's feud with Suzuki-gun. A distraction by Miho Abe allowed Kanemaru to spit whisky in the eyes of Taguchi, who was then hit with the Taichi-shiki Last Ride/Deep Impact combination that Suzuki-gun calls the Highball. UONUMA 2017 results! by Dean - 10/7/17</div> Tensions between CHAOS and Los Ingobernables de Japón boiled over at the Niigata Gymnasium earlier tonight, as the show ended in a massive six man brawl that spilled out of the ring and around the arena. An incredible match ended in controversy as Tetsuya Naito hit Will Ospreay with a low blow while the referee was distracted. EVIL capitalized, hitting Ospreay with the EVIL and scoring the pinfall. After the match, Okada and Ishii retaliated, brawling with LIJ while the bell rang countless times. Once the action spilled back in the ring, LIJ had the upper hand, and EVIL once again hit Okada with the Darkness Falls onto a pile of steel chairs. EVIL ended the show with a foot on Okada's chest while Naito cut his trademark post-match promo, ending as always with: CHAOS will have their hands full come KING OF PRO-WRESTLING, as LIJ wasn't the only faction to get into it with them. Beretta and Kenny Omega had some heated exchanges in their tag match and continued trash-talking after the bell. I also have quite the Tag Title match lined up for Wrestle Kingdom, which may or may not involve one of or both of these teams. On the other hand, the fact that Elgin didn't win the NEVER belt really threw me off, but I think he is going to get a rematch at KOPW or Power Struggle. I just think the top 3 matches for the Tokyo Dome are obvious at this point, but I just can't see exactly how Gedo is going to get there. Anyway, I am going to be posting the cards for my New Japan Road show and KOPW soon.

Omega addressed the crowd afterwards and promised to be the star that will bring New Japan Pro-Wrestling onto the global stage, claiming he has already done more for NJPW's international expansion than Okada, Naito or Tanahashi. Omega bid the fans good bye and good night, and left Kobe World Hall standing tall. While Bullet Club closed the show, the feud between CHAOS and Los Ingobernables de Japón heated up throughout the night. While LIJ have consistently picked up wins over the Road to DESTRUCTION tour, CHAOS pushed back tonight as both Tomohiro Ishii and Will Ospreay emerged victorious. Ospreay's rivalry with Hiromu Takahashi continued, as they've traded wins back and forth over the course of the tour. A singles match between the two to blow off their feud is more than likely. The IWGP Tag Team Title once again changed hands, as Davey Boy Smith Jr. pinned Tanga Loa after an impressive Killer Bomb. War Machine did not back down after the match, and were never actually pinned in any of these 3 Way Tag Team matches. They certainly have the right to invoke their rematch clause sometime before the World Tag League at the end of the year. Lastly, the mysterious vignettes showing a switchblade-wielding figure once again perplexed the fans in attendance. There are rumors swirling regarding who this could be, so it would not be surprising if this information leaked out to the public sooner rather than later. With only one singles title changing hands on this tour, the status quo in New Japan Pro-Wrestling has not been altered too much. If I'm not mistaken, Juice hasn't won a single tag encounter involving Omega, and that's just not how New Japan booking usually works. Either someone on the Bullet Club side is complaining about losing and Dean is trying to avoid morale issues, OR he's doing the "Challenger loses repeatedly, then wins a big upset victory." You were 100% spot on with the Tag Title switches, as I like all three teams to be honest, and really enjoy the occasional hot potato of a title just as much as super long reigns (just wait as I have some interesting plans for certain singles titles, to say the least). As for Juice, I had him pick up 4 wins over the course of the tour, which I agree is probably on the low end. I just had a hard time finding a realistic fall guy on the Bullet Club side (I don't see GOD taking a ton of falls as they have to kept strong for the Tag Title scene). As for complaining about losing, I actually completely ignore those and cheat by floating the loser a bonus after the show. On the other other hand, if you don't use autopush for a while, someone might take a morale hit if their pop grows and their push isn't adjusted accordingly. So yeah, keep autopushing everyone. 2) This is probably because your ring announcer figure isn't nearly as over as the wrestlers he/she is talking about in the segment and, in the game's understanding, comes out looking "bad". I wouldn't worry about it, especially since the angles get such high grades, anyway, and since a ring announcer isn't in any way a significant role in this game. If it truly concerns you, you could make them minor angles so they don't affect your show grade at all.</div></blockquote> Ok thanks. I would only be concerned if the angles were making his popularity drop, but it seems like it is slowly increasing.

2 questions: 1.) After every show, I go into my roster screen and use the "autopush" feature on my whole roster to take into account any popularity changes that may have happened in the last show. Are there any potential downsides to doing this? 2.) I have a basic angle where one of my ring announcers reads off the card for the show. I have the ring announcer on screen and the top 4 guys on the card off screen. Announcer is rated on microphone skill (which I have as pretty high) and the wrestlers on overness. Still, every time I run it I get a message saying "ring announcer looked dreadful" or "ring announcer did not come out of this looking good". Why is this happening? The angle gets anywhere from a B to A rating. Thanks in advance.

Both the IWGP Tag Team Champions and IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions lost their titles tonight - Suzuki-gun used the distractions of Miho Abe, Taichi's valet, to take advantage of Taguchi Japan, while the Guerrillas of Destiny won the Tag Team Title without ever pinning the champions, War Machine. It would not be surprising to see both former champions have another shot at their titles in the near future. War Machine in particular will have one more chance later on at DESTRUCTION in KOBE. While the tag title changes were exciting, it was the singles title matches that stole the show. KUSHIDA made his 2nd successful defense against El Desperado, while Hiroshi Tanahashi did the same against Zack Sabre Jr. KUSHIDA was confronted by Tiger Mask in the backstage press room after his match, who challenged him to a title match. Tiger hasn't challenged for the Jr. Heavyweight Title since 2010, but he scored a win over KUSHIDA in this year's Best of the Super Jr. tournament. This could be his final chance to capture a title he's held six times previously. However, the challenge that transpired in the ring after the main event will be the one to steal headlines. After defeating Sabre and addressing the crowd, Tanahashi was confronted by none other than "Golden Star" Kota Ibushi! Suzuki put up a vicious fight but Elgin managed to overpower the Suzuki-gun leader, using his patented Elgin Bomb to pin the veteran after nearly 15 minutes of stiff strikes and brutal exchanges. Despite the presence of El Desperado, Elgin overcame the interference, incapacitating Desperado with a huge Powerbomb on the floor. After the match, Elgin got on the mic, thanked the fans for their support and promised to defend the NEVER Title anywhere, anytime. The NEVER Openweight Title was surprisingly the only title to change hands tonight. The Los Ingobernables de Japón trio of EVIL, SANADA and BUSHI successfully defended their title when BUSHI used the MX on Rocky Romero, while War Machine beat the odds and held onto their IWGP Tag Team Title after hitting the Fallout on Tanga Loa. DESTRUCTION in HIROSHIMA features four championship matches. Is there any way (other than the editor) to view a list of venues/arenas if you aren't in the pre-show booking mode? Like on a regular day where I don't have a show, I can't find a way to scout venues.
