  1. I'll reserve final judgement till the supplemental thing is done but that was just awful. I can't imagine them making Raw any less appealing. The main event looked alright but by that point I was so disappointed with the draft I barely paid attention. Jericho moving was the real kicker, just when I thought Edge was going to get away from him and be entertaining again. Maybe I expected a bit too much from it, but really, when they hype up how big a shake up it is and yet nothing comes out of it looking at all interesting...blah. Good thing it's reached a time of year when I won't be watching for a few weeks anyway I'm not really worried for Smackdown though. If anything it could be better with Edge and Jericho gone, new people could potentially step up (which makes Morrison's move even more baffling). Thing is with Swagger as champ, matches like him vs. Show and him vs. Rey wouldn't be terrible but as feuds I really wouldn't bother tuning in. With that being said I did love the DiBiase/Truth segment.
  2. I personally enjoyed it. It made sense to go with the story of swagger wanting it in the ring and Orton outside, could maybe have done more with it but still it was good for where it was on the card, and a lot of what the announcers said about swagger combined with his win really furthered him; the stuff about him taking too much time, taking himself too seriously, having lost recently but doing it when it counts...I dig that. In fact the commentary as a whole I enjoyed more than I have in a while lol, when there's three of them it's much better than any combination of two.
  3. And how do you know this? edit; saw the story, though it said it's happened before with people who weren't on the brand by the time the promos aired. Still, they seem like likely candidates.
  4. I don't mind NXT although it is dragging on, but Heath Slater beating Chris Jericho makes me want to kill him.
  5. Firstly batista isn't as ripped now and secondly I think even then Terry was bigger. Batista looks huge but I wouldn't say freakishly so.
  6. Anyone think a Taker move to Raw is out of the question? Doubt he's got long left and it'd provide a big boost whenever they do use him...
  7. Saw that and it was great. Reckon it was improv'd though? I hope they all were, based on what some of the others said lol but I doubt it.
  8. Awesome. Apparently Miz called Danielson the Susan Boyle of the WWE but with less charisma...just brilliant.
  9. Indeed I love how it collides with the nostalgia, might have to check some stuff out myself because we know how the memory can shade things xD
  10. Nothing will ever top billy and chuck. Their wedding is one of my favourite wwe segments ever.
  11. Honestly...he should be higher up already. And it is Rey's fault. Not seen any rumours about him not being put over, but the suspension really hurt him. It was the third straight PPV he and Rey were facing off. I think it HAD to be him going over. The reactions he was getting around that time were insane, Summerslam in particular, let's go ziggler, and not a minority. Then Morrison wins the belt, there's that downright painful promo at Breaking Point, and it all falls apart. I thought they were gonna do something with him and Vickie based on what I think was a seg on wwe.com, but instead he did nothing till that random match with Kane and thus, the sleeper was born. Which I don't really mind, the zig zag is cool but by now who doesn't have an impact finisher like that, the sleeper allows him to be a threat to much bigger guys as well. As for my three, it'd include Ziggler, and then Christian, who I really, really hope moves up a level. He doesn't have to be the top guy, doesn't need the title (though it would be amazing), but he can offer so much more than what seems to be the Matt Hardy role he's played on Raw for a couple of weeks. Him vs. virtually everyone in the main event scene would make for fresh, appealling feuds. My third guy would be Miz, who surely has to win MITB at some point and cash it in on Cena...or Taker, but only the latter at Wrestlemania.
  12. Cole called Shelton a ten year vet at Mania, after a brief "really?!" I quickly assured myself "no"
  13. Well, no. The roster is still absolutely huge. The brand split is needed, even if some exceptions are made, else even less guys will get TV time. Ask Punk...Edge...Jeff Hardy...
  14. lol. First of all Shelton is 34. To mention Shad when an argument against Swagger is he hasn't been pushed until right now is ridiculous. And Morrison is surely an example of the slow build that the above poster is looking for. Same with Kofi. Playing the face, it takes longer, and it should. Swagger can work a good match, has star written all over him, and he's not amazing on the mic but nor are any of the guys you listed and that'll improve with time, especially working with Edge and Jericho. And besides right now he doesn't even need to be great in that respect.
  15. WWE clearly WANT him to be a star. Polls like the one mentioned are probably fixed, lol. Surprised they had the pros "vote" for him tbh. But still, so long as WWE don't give up, and given the way they've pushed him so far, I think it'd take a while, then he'll be ok.
  16. Good in theory. But Taker cannot be booked as a heel at this point. Anybody going up against him will get bood and if they end the streak it's HEAT, pure and simple heat that will last for a good while. For me, it's a Cena heel turn or Miz cashing in MITB after winning it that night. Preferably the latter. He's probably gonna be a heel for all of his career so might as well solidify it lol.
  17. Look at his career and compare it to most other people's, he's not going to be forgotten. I don't buy that he has to have some sort of quantifiable measure of success in a business where everything like that is relatively meaningless. Kane holds the most eliminations, big show all three big titles, stuff like IC/WWE champ at the same time I don't even know, KOTR is long forgotten...you really think anything like that takes precedence over the significance of Taker's presence for two decades if he loses one match at wrestlemania? I'm not saying it should end, just that if it does, I don't think the "young up and comer" idea would appeal. Then we'd just have a guy mentioning how he ended the undertaker's streak years from now. And that's what the primary memory of the undertaker would be. THAT would reduce him to a statistic of sorts. It'd be like jericho still mentioning him beating rock and austin in the same night. Big deal at the time, not as big as this would be obviously, and it didn't do that much for him long term, but still, eventually nobody would care. edit; the only way I'd want the streak ending to be done with a younger guy would be the ultimate OMG moment that catapults them INSTANTLY. That being, next year, Taker vs. Cena for the World title. Better if Taker's challenger. Taker wins. Out comes MITB winner from earlier in the night (The Miz would far and away be the best at pulling this off) and end the streak, win the title, and become the biggest heel in a very, veeery long time. THAT would be awesome. But having someone end it....they have to already be or instantly become one of THE top guys. Or if Cena ended it, it'd have to be with the much-denied heel turn.
  18. You know, as far as ending Taker's streak goes, I've been thinking. Would it be such a bad thing to end it...for the sake of ending it? This match is one of the biggest in Mania history. There's no guarantee Taker's gonna be wrestling this time next year. And all the talk of using it to "put over a new young star"...well firstly I just don't see WWE doing it, because they have trouble trusting people, and giving them that rub would be like the point of no return. No, anyone who gets to end the streak will have to already be an established star. And there's nobody more established than Shawn Michaels. There will be no bigger match than this at Wrestlemania for a long time. The only match Taker has left that would be worth it on this scale is against John Cena. And on the basis that the streak will end, I would rather Michaels did it. It'd be an amazing Wrestlemania moment. And in a way...that's enough. It won't happen though.
  19. Three? There's Vince/Bret and maybe Taker/HBK will have some weapons etc. And I mentioned MITB separately. But I'm fairly sure Punk/Rey is just one on one now. So I'm not sure if I'm missing something.
  20. It's the streak he wants to break, he's beaten Taker before, but this is all about Michaels, Mr. Wrestlemania, wanting to do what nobody else has done. Mania being relatively gimmick free except the MITB spotfest and token No Holds barred/hardcoreish match is great, especially given that extreme rules is a month later lol.
  21. Symbology wise casket would've worked but really....it makes for such a sloppy way to finish a match and would really have a very negative affect on how it all builds up to a finish IMO. One on one...career vs. streak, is more than enough. I hope nobody inteferes, but if they position it as the main event, it wouldn't surprise me xD
  22. xD lol yeah apologies, just based on different logic to the tna one I suppose. My answer is simple: Heath Slater.
