1. I was bummed to see the Korean Zombie bite the dust. It wouldn't have been so bad if Roop hadn't thrown that same head kick like six times prior to him catching Jung with it. Seems like a perfect opportunity to do the Garcia/Zombie rematch though, since both are coming off of losses. Cowboy/Varner was alright... It wasn't half the fight that the commentators were making it out to be though.. "Folks, you are watching what could be fight of the year." Sorry, but a fight of the year can't be a 30-27 decision where Varner gets completely outclassed. Did anyone else get worried about Aldo losing? He looked kind of mentally drained when he was warming up backstage, and sort of out of it when he came to the cage. Still, that being said, Manny had nothing for him. I will say this though, a couple of those punches that Aldo threw from back mount were -very- questionable shots. I haven't watched the fight again yet, but it looked like the two shots that put Manny away were to the back of the head, or at least to open him up for the final two that landed clean. Regardless, I think Aldo has officially cleaned out the division. A rematch with Mike Brown would just be kind of silly, in my opinion. It's just a matter of... Does he move up to WEC's 155 and clear that out, or do they move him to the UFC's 155? Kid is incredibly young for the type of performances he's putting on.. so it's not unrealistic for them to let him rock the WEC 155's for a while. Any way you cut it, the dude is just scary and almost borderline sociopath in his cool approach to busting faces. lol
 2. Wow, Chael is really throwing himself out there this time. GSP vs. Sonnen sounds like a pretty interesting fight though, could be a good fight for GSP to move up to 185 on.
 3. Joe Warren may not be the "baddest man on the planet", but he's certainly tough as nails(as most of us already knew). Here's a highlight video from last night for those that didn't get to see the fight... I wanted a gif of the knee, but couldn't find one. http://www.youtube.com/user/BellatorMMA#p/u/0/NzC-bXyioxc
 4. You think BJ would beat Gray, really? Care to tell me why? I see that fight pretty much going the way GSP/Penn II went minus the corner stoppage, plus a decision.
 5. I really think Gray Maynard beats Edgar again... At this point I don't think there's a fighter in his division or below that can beat him... His wrestling is just too stifling, and he's so damn careful with everything he does. But I'm hoping Frankie wins, because the Lightweight division is going to be a lot more boring with Gray Maynard as the champion. I can't wait for Soto/Warren tonight... Rooting for Warren big time just because he's brutally honest and really hilarious to watch most of the time. And also Daff, I'm digging the new avatar you're rocking. I'm probably one of the biggest Anderson Silva fans around... But Chael was able to do whatever he liked all day long against Silva, and Andy knew what he was up against... I mean wrestling, it's what Chael does.. He doesn't have any surprises, he just takes you down and grinds on you. And Anderson had no answer. I expect nothing but the same from him. And something else, Chael(unlike a lot of other fighters) had the balls to at least half-way stand with Anderson, and he landed a few decent shots along the way. I fully expect an even more inflated ego from Sonnen, and him possibly pulling off the win(by decision of course). Not something I want to see, personally... But Chael(if he can work on his sub defense just a bit more) could be Anderson's kryptonite and he's the only person that's had Anderson anywhere near the brink of defeat in the Octagon... That trumps Belfort, Okami or anyone getting a shot first in my eyes. .... Wanderlei Silva looks almost like a wolf with his Hollywood Hogan style goatee he's been rocking since the knee surgery. Looks like Karo is back in the UFC against Dennis Hallman at 123... It would be hilarious if Hallman pulled the upset; but I really wanna see Nate Diaz bust Karo up so pulling for the Heat.
 6. It would be kind of hilarious if Warpath beat Rogers though.... And then we could call him Brett "Can't Get Right" Rogers.
 7. Maia could do well spending a little time with Eddie Bravo in my opinion. And probably doing a lot of cable pulls to work on some power, as you already covered.
 8. LOL, that's a pretty funny visual actually. I can just see Kurt Angle shooting in a low single and a prime Liddell smashing him right on the chin. As sloppy as Diaz/Davis was at times, I always enjoy watching Nate fight. He brings it, as opposed to just stalling like a lot of fighters these days. I hate Marcus Davis, so it was just a feather in the cap to see Nate sub him. Maia/Miranda showcased some great grappling(albeit a bit one-sided at times) and Miranda definitely earned a lot of respect in my eyes for his submission defense. The dude is going to be a beast. I agree with you though on the armbar, Maia should have finished it... But I think it's due to the fact that he telegraphed the thing so long, Miranda was just able to know.
 9. What was expected to happen happened with Toney/Couture. I really wanted to see that upset, but it was not to be. I haven't got a chance to watch Penn/Edgar II, had to go to bed early to get up for work. But planning on watching it later. Diaz/Davis and Maia/Miranda were two damn good fights though. I really enjoyed watching Miranda's submission defense, especially to that calculated armbar that Maia attempted at the end of the 3rd.. Beautiful defense. Miranda definitely has a future in the sport if he figures out how to put it all together.
 10. Because I thought Chael Sonnen would lose(which he did), and I dislike GSP that means I hate wrestlers? One of my all-time favorite fighters is Matt Hughes, I'm a Midwest guy... We love wrestling here, a lot of people eat, sleep, and breathe it. If you spent more time reading my posts instead of critiquing the ones you disdain, you'd see that I A) gave Chael props after he tooled Anderson for 4 rounds, and B) said I'd love to see a rematch. As far as St. Pierre goes, I do blindly hate him because he's one of the most talented fighters in the world and is too scared to commit to a finish. It disgusts me, because you know how good both his standup and ground is... So it's not so much that I dislike wrestlers... It's that I dislike wrestlers who like to turn a fight into a really really boring slobber-inducing comatic chess(one sided) match. Does that clarify things any better? I'm not a "bad fan"... I just enjoy upsets, and James Toney beating Randy Couture would send a lot of shockwaves through the MMA world, imo. I really want to see more boxers transition over, because that's the only way we're really going to see accuracy. Edit: Had to leave in the middle of my post, so I'll finish my thought... I'm not buying into the James Toney hype machine. He's absolutely -no- threat to anyone that's a serious contender in the heavyweight division, but neither is Randy at this point. Dana saying if Toney beats Couture that he's in the "title mix" was very laughable. So again, I'm not delusional about Toney... But I'm also not one of those people who thinks Couture is going to come out and smash Toney with no regard for his punching ability.
 11. Okay, well, your posts stick out to me as well.. You come off as one of those douche bags that is sitting in a luxury leather chair, staring down over the top of your nose, and smoking from a pipe. You're an elitist, clearly... Or trying really hard to be. So I guess we're even... Both drawing conclusions and looking foolish. It's not so much that I care about Toney's mobility. I've watched a lot of his fights. It's the fact that he has good accuracy. Randy's been clipped by Lesnar(yes, I realize the dude has hands the size of most faces) and Nogueira, and neither of those two have a third of the accuracy that Toney will have. Again, we'll see tomorrow night. I got Toney pulling the upset.
 12. Okay, so.... Because I give a boxer a chance of beating a near 50 year old MMA fighter who's been clipped a lot in his recent fights.... That makes me a daily user of Sherdog? Interesting... Excuse the hell out of me for believing a guy who's been throwing punches for the greater part of his life has a chance of landing one on Randy as he bumbles in and then following with a couple more on the mat to finish it. Not very many fighters in the UFC have the kind of accuracy that Toney has. I can't wait for Toney to win, Dustin, so I can serve you a monsterous piece of humble pie. Then maybe in the future you'll keep your snarky comments to yourself about sherdog or whatever lame MMA forum you want to use for a basis to flame someone.
 13. Two days until James Toney puts Couture on his ass with a hook to the head and upsets the entire MMA world. The closer and closer it gets to fight time, and the more videos that come out with Toney's training, and how much better shape he's got in. I think Couture is looking past him as well.
 14. Lashley got exposed by a decent prospect, nothing more nothing less. Feijao won! Alright! King Mo's gorilla slams are awesome. Jacare won but I thought he'd choke Kennedy quick.
 15. Cottonwood would also be another possibility for replacement. He's kinda slow and so therefore easily manipulated. Nexus needs someone by Monday night to be that "enforcer" style role or they're going to quickly start looking like Wade Barrett & The Small Fries. I mean you have a barely middleweight ginger guy who they basically buried while plugging Wendy's at the same time. A guy that is really only getting any recognition for his 450 splash... Tarver can't do anything worthwhile, and just genuinely looks stupid with his little half-mask. Otunga just isn't big enough to be doing half of the big man moves he tries to do, like Faarooq's standing spinebuster. It's just going to turn into a joke if they don't get someone bigger in there that can make something happen.
 16. Good insight, brash. I guess I never really took that into consideration.
 17. Yep, this Nexus angle is going to blow up and go nowhere at this point... Unless they add a few new guys to it. Skip Sheffield gone now, and that was probably their most intimidating figure.... They should bring one of the cut NXTS2 guys in to fill that spot. Husky Harris maybe?
 18. Rosholt, for as absent-minded as he can be, has shown some moments of greatness though. I just don't know what Lesnar and company are doing with Konrad. I mean it's obvious that he's already got the control down, let's see him work more positions and try to finish more than just once. Dude seriously needs to drop some of his weight, because when Roy Nelson has a better physique than you, there's issues... Edit: I was just reading a forum and someone joked that watching Konrad fight was like watching a Discovery documentary about beached whales. Not sure if it's in good taste or not, but I found it hilarious after sitting through that.
 19. I'm glad Bellator exists to give people like Cole Konrad a chance to develop, but still get -some- exposure. But man is it really becoming hard to watch this guy... Seeing Konrad and knowing the kind of wrestler he is, and seeing him struggle to finish C level fighters just shows you further how much of a beast Brock Lesnar really is. This heavyweight tournament is a turd. I was kind of surprised to see Blackburn lose, as his gimmick has always been beating the people he's not supposed to, and getting beaten by those who he is.
 20.

Unless Toney hits the first punch he swings, Randy is taking him down. And once the fight hits the ground, it is all over for Toney.

I think you are severely overestimating Couture's speed. And Toney may only have a puncher's chance, but I mean... the guy -is- a puncher for a living. Don't be delusional... Couture himself has acknowledged that he's probably going to have to eat some punches if he wants the takedown.

 21.
I really like Wade Barrett, Skip Sheffield, and to an extent David Otunga.

Not really much into Slater or Gabriel, because they aren't very good heel characters.

I cannot stand Tarver or Young...

Barrett just has a natural aura about him. When I look at Wade Barrett, he's convincing enough looking to be a champion, albeit his wrestling ability could certainly improve.

Skip Sheffield has some serious intensity about him. His eyes and the way he carries himself walking reminds me of Sid Vicious in the 90s, and that's a huge compliment.

David Otunga can talk, but he definitely belongs as a tag team wrestler. He's just not competent enough in the ring to be a successful singles star.

 22.
I can't wait for 118...

We're going to get to see BJ Penn over-commit on everything he does, and Frankie won't be able to do a damn thing about it. Not sure which round it ends in though, Edgar is very durable. I just don't think he's going to be able to deal with the king-sized beating that an angry BJ is going to put on him, and I see it ending with a Rear-naked.

I'm still sticking with my pick that James Toney is going to smash Couture. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Randy won, but my gut just says Toney and it's said it all along since fight was made. I just see Randy being too prideful of his Greco Roman that has dominated so many people, and making the mistake of clinching. That's where this fight ends if Couture can't shoot a double in his later years(and he was never that great with doubles anyway, different style). Toney is going to land some wicked shots, ala Carwin/Mir, and the ref's going to have to face the music. Toney vs. Lesnar, for as lopsided as it would be, would probably sell a million buys. Could see it now...

"8-1, and he the champion? Pssh in boxing he wouldn't even be talked about at the water cooler, kid. Brock Lesnar just an overgrown wrassler in a man's world." And so on and so forth in Toney's banter hilarity.

Maia over Miranda - easy sub

Florian over Maynard - decision

Diaz over Davis - decision

I hope Lauzon doesn't lose to Ruediger. That's all for now.

 23. Chael wants the rematch. Anderson claims rib injury as excuse for the total spanking he took for the majority of the fight. Chael's done a million more times offensively to Anderson than all of his opponents combined... So yeah, I mean... I guess count me on board for the rematch.
 24. Well, to my credit, I do think he's a good fighter. I just didn't give him the respect of being able to hang with Anderson Silva, who I think is in the greatest of categories. Anyone can see Chael Sonnen is a good fighter, I just didn't expect that much out of him. So now... Would I like to see Sonnen and Rich Franklin at Middleweight? Yes.
 25. Wow... again... There was some analogy back in the day that someone used for something like this... and that analogy was "It would be like having sex with Jessica Alba, getting close to climax, then pulling out and using a sock." Chael Sonnen should be the Middleweight champion, but his submission defense cost him one more time. Anderson Silva is a lucky man.
