If he ever fights Shields you're going to see him absolutely blast him on the feet.

And Rampage's boxing has looked really bad in his last two fights and he's lost one and nearly lost the other because he was content to stand still and throw plodding hooks. If he does that against Machida it's going to a ridiculously one sided decision.

I'm not really sure why you think Machida's gas tank is going to blow either, and certainly not why it would run out before Rampage's.

Not sure I agree with you on St. Pierre taking people down just because he's comfortable. I'm sure he's comfortable everywhere the fight's at now. However, if you listen to St. Pierre's corner(more specifically Greg Jackson) he's calling out to an exact science what he wants to see St. Pierre do that round, and very seldom do you see it not happen. I agree with you on the GSP/Shields fight though... St. Pierre would ragdoll him on the feet.

Rampage's boxing hasn't looked bad, his speed has looked bad. Which is understandable considering he's been making the movie, and living the Hollywood lifestyle. Plus, I never said Rampage would beat Machida with his boxing. I distinctly said he would win based on the fact that his chin is good enough to absorb some Machida blows, and secure a takedown or two.

As far as gas tanks are concerned, the only time I can remember in recent history of Rampage's tank going E would be Rashad. Machida on the other hand had some gas problems in the Ortiz fight, and in the first Shogun fight. Rampage is going to lay on him, and tire him out. Then when it becomes more maintainable to stand-up, he'll have a better shot at getting the KO or TKO.

You're also assuming that Machida is going to come out the same fighter, as if getting blasted severely in the dome isn't going to play any part. Getting knocked out is a confidence killer any time, any sport, regardless. Rampage takes this.

 2.
If you had posted that video without all the betting information, I'd have given the benefit of the doubt to him just for the fact that when he got tagged in the gut, his reaction was very on course. Then he very unnaturally threw himself to the ground after getting "tagged" with a less-than-pillow punch. -If- he threw his career away then it had to be worth it to him... Dunno too many people who are successful(or even semi-successful) that would throw his trade away for a less-than-great statistical chance that they're making some bank.

If that KO was legit though.... Gabe Ruediger called, and he wants his stomach back.

 3. In regards to Machida vs. Rampage... I think Rampage takes the decision by having the chin to take a few Machida punches to get the takedown. While Rampage isn't going to submit or realistically even ground and pound him out, I think he can grind on him for a round and tire Machida out trying to get out of unfamiliar fight territory. Everyone keeps bagging on Rampage for only using his boxing, but what they don't realize is he's trying to improve it... And no matter how much sparring/training you do, you can never really get the real improvement unless you fight... Why do you think St. Pierre takes people to the ground and works positions to the point that people hate him? He's using the fight to improve himself, just like Rampage is. Why does Rampage really need to use his wrestling for anymore? People already know he has it, his wrestling against Henderson is still fresh in everyone's mind... His hands are what are winning him fights, and quite honestly it almost won him the fight last time... Rampage wins this, probably by decision after Machida's gas tank blows before Quinton's. Diego/Paulo is an awesome fight. I'm not taking anything away from Paulo for his performance against Kampmann. Kampmann himself has proven you can have an off night. Sanchez is a good gauge for exactly where Paulo Thiago is, if nothing else.
 4. Tonight was absolute GOLD standard in how not to run an MMA event. There were times when I really felt like I was watching Aqua Teen Hunger Force with the random yelling microphone guy trying to get the crowd into it... That was so very disturbing. It's like they were making it a circus rather than an MMA event. Every fight was pretty much sloppy and terrible. Everyone that was supposed to dominate underachieved, for the most part, except for Rizzo... Filho and Kang 2 coming up... Oh boy.... Some of Daley's "submission" attempts were just embarrassing. At least he's trying, I guess? Ken lasted longer than I expected, but it ended just about how I expected it. Think Pedro seen one of Filho's lost ghost buddies because he hesitated a split second before pounding Shamrock after he went down from the leg kick. Absolute comedic night of MMA, so maybe I shouldn't be so disturbed that they had a ringleader trying to get the crowd in. MMA is a circus in Austrailia, and the fighters did the notion well on this night. I give this event 4 laughs out of 5.
 5. I want Ninja to look dominant and brutal, doubt it'll happen though. I'd like to see him in the UFC, think it'd go over positively considering Shogun's success. They kinda piggybacked Little Nog on Minotauro, they should do the same with Ninja.
 6. I'm ashamed to say I'm onboard for watching Shamrock and Rizzo throwdown tonight.... I can't help myself. As much old school UFC as I've been watching lately, it just makes sense to watch this. Hell, I'd watch Shamrock fight anyone from that era now. Sometimes the fights that matter the least can end up a permanent memory. I think Rizzo is going to absolutely maul Shamrock about two minutes in. It's going to be exciting for as long as it lasts but I see no way Shammy wins it. Plus an overweight Ghost Whisperer is fighting Denis Kang, that in itself should be entertaining enough to warrant watching. This card has all the makings for a night of laughs with some popcorn seasoned with hot salt.
 7. People act like Fedor is somehow above M1... He owns part of the company, unless I'm just dead wrong.
 8. I had heard that rumor, but hadn't seen it confirmed. After you said that I read more on it, and you're right. They release fighters from their contracts all the time for having poor performances, and just pay them their base. Not sure why they'd set a poor standing and let Hunt fight when A) he most likely will never make the weight and B) is on a massive losing streak to low-end fighters(aside from Mousasi). Would have made more sense if they just gave him his cash and sent him on his way. Who knows, maybe Hunt will make weight and turn it around, and I'll eat my words.
 9. Watching DREAM a second time, mostly without the volume on during the fights... But watching the video montage for Mizuno and couldn't help but laugh. It's like "Hey... Remember when Cro Cop beat this guy's ass severely?" It's like reverse marketing... They would build him up for a second, and then immediately go back to Cro Cop beating him up. And then it's like "Oh yeah, it's gonna happen again!" Fast forward to Manhoef getting absolutely spanked for the next several minutes... Japan's organizers hide their face in shame. Yeah, Schiavello is definitely on speed: "Manhoef is ready to molest and violate Mizuno!" .... Really? This guy has taken a few props he's gotten on various message boards and has since kicked his personality into an obnoxious overdrive.
 10. Well, to Aoki's credit he's got a lot of strength for someone his size. Plus he's got that Nogueira death grip when he's on the ground. As I said before, I take nothing away from Kawajiri in this fight. It was a mental error that he made, thus he needs a better camp. I like both Kawajiri and Ishida, but the fact is neither are going to get better unless they branch out. I mean it's cool to stay in the same camp, but come on.... let's see some training outside of Japan more often. Aoki won in surprising fashion and makes you feel like it was a setup to keep him relevant, and I'd be onto that conspiracy if it were anyone other than Kawajiri(or another upstanding Japanese fighter).
 11. Shinya Aoki called, he told me to let you know he'll be auctioning Kawajiri's detached foot on ebay. -Clearly this is a setback for Crusher, and I don't really take anything away from this except: A) Shinya Aoki has some retarded grappling skills but likely will never be a super relevant fighter due to his small frame and lack of striking and B) Kawajiri needs to get into a good mental camp at this point, because his skills are peaked... just needs someone with some intelligence to guide the skill. -Commentary last night was some of the worst I've ever heard. It's proof to what I've always said, eventually a "know-it-all" in the commentator booth will antagonize fans. And that's exactly what happened. Say what you want about Mike Goldberg at this point, but I'll take him over Professor Shiavello any day now. -Mousasi choked out a fat wrestler that most likely was gassed by the time he got off the airplane. Still, 31 seconds into the fight.... Is this tournament the biggest joke in MMA tournament history? Mizuno's win was absolutely hilarious. Manhoef is done, and I'm most likely finished watching him compete against someone with even AVERAGE well-rounded skills. Dude is stubborn, he's obviously approaching the end or is out of his prime, and he's not working on his ground game... So stop booking him. I'd rather see a boring 15 minute grappling match than see a guy with no skills and some striking power getting to fight. In my opinion this just makes UFC signing Mark Hunt even more retarded. 0-5 in his last 5 fights with a KO loss to a middleweight. Good job Dana. -My biggest bowl of disappointment tonight had to be Karl Amoussou losing =/ Was really hoping for the second-coming of a Wanderlei Silvaesque fighter. That's what he's been touted as, but it's just not there.
 12. People who say UFC will never go into Japan because of shady businessmen are forgetting where ZUFFA comes from.... lol It doesn't get much more corrupt than the heart of Las Vegas.
 13. UFC just opened a HQ in China... and you think they're going to have a problem getting into Japan? UFC already has a medium size following in Japan and it's only getting bigger. I have a sister in law that lives in Japan, and her entire family loves it. And since they're by no means "hardcore" MMA fans, I'd imagine there are others You bring up the Yakuza, but you have no real proof of the matter other than all the rumors that ran about with PRIDE. And just because the Yakuza might have been involved in that doesn't mean PRIDE didn't -get them- involved. The Yakuza doesn't have involvement in every single outlet of money making in Japan, and obviously most of their income is through the way of illegal Keno gambling and the like. You've bested me on a lot of topics, and I you... But this is one where you're going to have to concede unless you can get Brashley to drop a bomb on me. UFC has every intention of moving into EVERY market, because they want to become THE International name for MMA. Does that mean we'll see a HQ in Japan by 2012, I doubt it... But I bet we see a couple of fights in Japan before 2012 is out. There's no reason for them to sign guys with Japanese flavor such as Gomi, Uno, Akiyama, and others if they have no interest in going into the Japanese Market(something they've flirted with several times in the past) Going out on a withered limb, even if the Yakuza -is- involved with everything in Japan... What makes you think that would stop Dana and Zuffa from doing business for the greater good of their company? Dana is about money. PRIDE did it, they bought PRIDE.
 14. Yeah, you're right. Not sure how I could confuse two and three.... probably because when I went back on history of my childhood I realized how terribly bad some of that stuff was. Good catch though.
 15. It's no secret that Dana wants to move into the Japanese market, and let's be honest... Money talks... There's gotta be a reason DREAM has used a cage a couple of times. Zuffa has money, and FEG is losing a lot of money.... Could Zuffa be using FEG(and compensating them well) to see how the cage would go over these days? I'm obviously reaching out on a limb here, but then again... not really. Wouldn't be the first time Dana and company did something out of the ordinary... ie: Xyience.
 16. The Miz, Chris Jericho, and now The Nexus(just to see how bad it's going to fail in the end) are the only reasons I even tune into WWE anymore. And I guess to an extent Sheamus. Miz is the only one who makes an effort to be creative, and the only thing I see holding him back in the long-term of being a mega star is his body. He's never going to be a guy that can put on the muscles like The Rock or Austin, even though I feel like he has(or is on his way to having) just as entertaining skills on the mic. He will be a multiple time WWE champion before he's finished though, and will likely have a job with the company long after a lot of the top talents are gone due to his charisma. I could -easily- see The Miz as the new age announcer when he retires. He made super face Cena interesting to me, which is his job. He followed Jerishow with ShowMiz, which I felt was an awesome play on the previous story(which is something the WWE is never able to do anymore). I think the Miz is going to end up as the guy behind The Nexus. It fits him, it would elevate him, and if you think about it... it makes a lot of sense. They're targeting John Cena, who the Miz never really got complete closure with, and could never defeat him. Who better to start a group up to go after John Cena(and other stars to a lesser extent) than Miz? The fact that Bryan Danielson is no longer there, and suspiciously left the group(storyline wise) only adds to my speculation. They could tie that in with The Miz booting him out. I see some big things in his future regardless of whether my above is fact or fiction.
 17. Maybe they're referring to something similar to what WWF did with Wrestlemania 3. They had multiple shows going on around the United States that were under the same banner. Think of it like that.
 18. Sounds like an awesome card, but I can't see them keeping Lesnar out that long since Cain is healthy and waiting. Also, doubt we'd see Chuck/Tito 3 on that card, as it would sell enough buys by itself even with Chuck coming off a loss to Franklin. That fight will be on PPV by itself as the main event because people will always want to see Chuck punch Tito, and the Tito fans of the world will always buy it in hopes Tito can "get one back for the team."
 19. I really like Cain, and think he's going to to be a champion eventually... I just don't think he'll beat Lesnar this time. That's not to say he won't put together three wins afterward and get a rematch. I see Lesnar/Velasquez being the next trilogy in the UFC, and it's going to end up just like Hughes/St. Pierre, which Lesnar winning the first, and Cain evolving too much and picking up the last two. Comparing Brock's big money camps to AKA is laughable though. It's not even close to the same level of training. AKA is still mostly a kickboxing camp, it's still catching up in terms of other areas of MMA. Not to say they don't have a more than capable team, but Cain doesn't have training partners as good as Lesnar(Nor the money or ability to really bring in anyone and everyone like Lesnar can)... Cain's obviously got the same chance that Carwin had, if not more due to his better cardio... but I truly see Lesnar beating him in the first or second by TKO. And for the record, I'm not one of those delusional nitwits who thinks just because Cain got rocked multiple times by Kongo that he's got a weak chin. I think he's still getting used to getting hit, as Kongo was really the first person to full on touch it. He survived it, and that proves he can take some punches and recover. We'll see how he handles it though when he's got a 265 Vanilla Gorilla laying on him and throwing bombs with stupid power from odd angles. ------------ Also, I think it's kind of lame to give Carwin credit for "stuffing" Lesnar's takedowns when he only stuffed one when he was absolutely fresh. The second round(regardless of whatever excuse Carwin wants to come up with) he got taken down with one of the sloppiest(albeit somewhat faster than normal) double legs in UFC Heavyweight history. I've seen people with no wrestling ability(or limited) defend takedowns for three rounds against more than capable wrestlers with nothing else. Carwin should have been able to do more than defend one takedown with a lucky wizer. There's too much credit given to people for stuffing one or two of Lesnar's shots... They might stuff a couple, but they don't stuff them all. Eventually Lesnar gets you to the ground, and everytime he's gotten someone there they've at the very least gotten beaten up bad. And in Herring's case, he was eating so many takedowns that he was bound by mathematical statistic to prevent at least a couple. Additionally, stuffing the takedowns of someone running at you with the force Lesnar does isn't going to do anything positive to your cardio. I mean... look at it from a St. Pierre perspective. The guy has the same kind of wrestling style Lesnar does.... Just brutal force and runs through you. Every once in a while someone stuffs a St. Pierre takedown, doesn't change the outcome. St. Pierre and Lesnar are a lot alike in the fact that once they ground you, you aren't getting back up. Also, Lesnar's ability to pass the guard or make use of whatever guard he's got is becoming a real treat to watch. Up to UFC 50 on my quest to view all of them again... Kerri Kasem did the post-fight interviews on this show... What a double dose of ugly. Ugly voice and she looks like a much younger(and uglier) Cher. It's amazing what being the daughter of a pop culture radio jockey can get you.
 20. The Cain who got clipped multiple times by Kongo is still looming somewhere in this "new and improved" one that KO'd Nogueira. Hey, if Carwin proved anything, it's you've always got a chance. Cain certainly has a better gas tank than Carwin, so we'll see. I just hope his standup has improved, and he didn't just land a lucky KO on Big Nog. He's not going to have the wrestling to fall back on if he gets in trouble on his feet this time around(at least not every time). And you know with the way Lesnar performed on his feet at 116 that they'll be drilling pretty much nothing but standup for Cain...
 21. Slow motion ruins that GIF.... You seriously have to see it in real time to appreciate just how violent that collision between head and mat is. Harris seems to be a travelling wrecking machine now. He's been training with a plethora of guys since he was last in the UFC, and it's paying off. I expected a decision in the fight, not a flying triangle to Rock Spinebuster. Dwayne Johnson was in attendance... Harris should have been smart, raised his eyebrow and said "Do you smell what I'm cookin'?" A lot of people on other forums I frequent are up in arms about Lesnar getting Submission of the Night bonus over Lytle. I'm not surprised at all... While Lytle's submission was more unique, it's not going to be remembered very far down the line. We've seen Lytle secure a lot of submissions(and to be fair the guy has won a ridiculous amount of payouts for of the Night rewards) but last night I gotta give the edge to Brock, just for the fact that anyone with half a brain saw that submission coming, and he still applied it with ease. Carwin knew it was coming and he could do nothing to stop it, that shows you how good Brock's ground game is for a heavyweight. Not to mention he showed heart, which is something lacking in almost all champions. Lesnar didn't need the money at all, but his submission was more worthwhile and memorable for me.
 22. What sucks about him? If you take the WWE out of his resume and based him solely on his wrestling background people would be calling him "The Natural".
 23. If Lesnar beats Velasquez convincingly, I'm pretty sure the only person who can beat Lesnar is Nogueira if he can time travel back before all his damage set in... and even then it would have to be a no time limit match or scored under PRIDE rules where they had it for bottom more often. And that'd have to be a good night for Prime Nog. I knew Leben was going to win after he survived Akiyama's ground game in the first round. Akiyama gasses, he's always a monster in the first round and then he's just somewhat game the rest of the way. I still thought he was on his way to beating Leben by decision, which would have sucked... So when Leben won by triangle, which didn't even look properly applied.... I couldn't believe it. Until I stopped and remembered Akiyama = gas tank zero.
 24. As I said... sometime around the second round. Wasn't in violent fashion, but it was -shocking-.
 25. Wow... That slam from Harris was absolutely nasty. Dude's nickname should be "Ron Simmons". Gerald "Ron Simmons" Harris Furthermore, forget drilling any other submissions... Just train triangles... What's the deal? Leben is maturing... WANDDDDDDDDDDERRRRLEEEEIII SILVA VS. CHRIS LEBEN would be an AWESOME fight to go into Japan with, please make it happen Prince Dana.
