No. At one point, maybe. The Rock is FAR more popular than Hulk Hogan ever was. Just compare the box office receipts for Hobbs & Shaw to Santa With Muscles.

91 IS a bit high for Adam Cole, but it's also way too high for Hulk Hogan now.

Have to disagree on that one.

But we do agree that neither Hogan, nor The Rock are lower in terms of pop than Adam Cole.

 2. You think 91 popularity is right for Adam Cole? I’m all for playing and enjoying the game, but not through unrealistic mods. Hulk Hogan is the most popular wrestler in the world and he’s not been a wrestler for years. In this game, Adam Cole has more popularity than Brock Lesnar.
 3. It’s an incredibly unrealistic mod, therefore not really playable. Adam Cole has more popularity than Hulk Hogan. This is not an issue with the popularity of the NXT wrestlers. It’s a problem with products. NXT matches should not be rated on popularity. It should be rated on in ring performance. NXT is a very different product than WWE.
 4. I would give anything to get a 50 for that match. I’m getting 35 at best for my matches. I’ve already had them take pretty much all my roster (20 call ups)
 5. Yeah, sadly this mod is not playable. Unless you want an arcade simulator. Shame. Back to waiting for a decent mod again.
 6. Whereas the one I have played has Adam Cole on 91. Somewhere in the middle would be nice. Haha.
 7.
Is it promotion/product dependant?

For example, a worker with 60 stamina would be unable to go over 10 minutes in a pure wrestling fed. Would that same worker be able to go 15 minutes without penalty in an entertainment/storytelling fed?

 8.

Also the fans crapping all over a worker I imagine should be only used in certain promotion styles, perhaps they should change the text depending on the promotion style “Worker A was not to people’s standards” for example sounds a little less harsh and could apply to say NJPW style promotions as typically to be in those promotions you need to know how to at least put on a decent match, where wwe has in the past had a very hostile audience and the old penalty could suffice

So I guess for that penalty I’d suggest they simply include a lesser version for workrate style promotions with less harsh terminology

Is it realistic though for a crowd to crap all over a workers match? I was booking an ROH show and everyone got completely crucified by the crowd. Even if it was a worker from the ROH Dojo vs a development talent in a 6-minute match, the ROH crowd wouldn’t boo the “jobbers” just because they don’t know who they are. In that case, there is no point signing any workers from your dojo because they are never getting over.

Same with jobber from ROH Dojo versus ROH Champion. The jobber would have a rating of saying 20 for in-ring and the champion would have a rating of 50. This then has the overall match rating at 22/23. I just don’t understand it.

This isn’t the games fault. It’s my fault. I just need a “how to play” guide like they do with the Assasins Creed games haha.

 9.

My two cents though there a three major types of Tew players some players will have qualities of more than one.

1. The fantasy bookers - These guys just wanna book their dream matches they typically won’t care on their ratings too much as its for their own enjoyment anyways.

2. The Power Gamers- These players hate penalties as they see it as an imperfection , they will most certainly avoid any potential penalties to the point that their show becomes very stagnant, if they are a pure power gamer they won’t care too much on this fact however

Or

3. The Good Time Gamers- These players hence their name just wanna have fun in the game, penalties to them may or may not be an issue, but a rating drastically lower than they expect could take away some of their fun as these kinda players aren’t necessarily looking for a challenge.

If your the type of player who has no power gaming qualities the penalties wouldn’t be a major concern unless they are drastically off base (which is subjective as much as some people won’t admit it), if you have power gaming qualities though then this game is stagnating your booking a lot harsher than Tew 2016, thus eliminating some of the enjoyment from these players.

Fantasy bookers May see these penalties as restrictive if they have any power gaming qualities and as such will avoid branching out and trying too many new things in their booking or feel hindered by the products strictness (a different discussion though), the good time players will literally just adapt to the game over time as long as they are enjoying it more than the previous game

So to summarize penalties may or may not be tolerable depending on how you book if I had to suggest a particular change I’d have to agree with the person who suggested penalties not be red (as silly as that sounds), as it is a harsh color to see after a match you booked especially if there’s a lot of them, perhaps color coat the dirt sheet instead? That way the penalties are there but the first thing you see after booking is YOU DID BAD

Did you notice the color text immediately? Congratulations you have some power gaming qualities lol

Love this post. And I love this comment.

For me, it is frustrating because matches and segments that I am booking are getting 40-50, but when I play through the demo on the opposite side, the AI is booking the same matches I would and getting 60-70.

It is a real concern that players, myself included, are now getting annoyed that they aren’t able to get a decent grade because these certain penalties are bringing down the rating.

I’m a casual player. I like play RW mods and booking ROH and getting 60-70 shows. I’ve never had a 100 segment in any version of any game. I think the best I’ve had in 2016 was 89. That’s the way I play. I’m not very good at it, but I am now much worse at this one, because I’ve played through the demo on 8 occasions with different promotions (RW and CV) and the best match I’ve put on was a 48.

The road agent note that annoys me the most is “the crowd really cr***ed all over (insert wrestler name) and have them a hard time” just because they are a rookie, or don’t have much popularity. My argument is, aside from a WWE show, I’ve never been to any indie show, and I go to a lot, and experienced any hatred towards any single wrestler for not being a) popular or b) experienced. It just doesn’t happen.

I don't think it will be possible to play as WWE and automatically get great ratings in everything that is booked unless mod makers edit their database to make WWE outstandingly and unrealistically good. Properly made mods have the potential to be brilliant. Got a bit boring booking the Attitude Era and getting 85+ on every show guaranteed. I want it to be reflected that sometimes, even in that period, Raw and Nitro were terrible TV. I want to struggle against my opponents and not get a guaranteed win because Austin is red hot and the AI can't book for shit. I believe this game will finally be the one to get us as close as possible to the reality of wrestling which is why I am so concerned with the recent criticisms of the game. I sincerely hope Adam stays true to his vision for this game and doesn't backtrack due to an overly vocal minority.

Problem with that is, your opponents are always putting on much better shows than you, by booking exactly the same matches that you would do.

If they were getting the same penalties and struggling for ratings, sure.

Like for example, I just booked Chris Jericho vs PAC vs Jon Moxley for the title. It got a 59 rating. In a similar game where I was playing the opposite side, Jon Moxley vs Chris Jericho got 87. Do the crowd really hate Pac that much? Haha.

No matter whether I book AEW, WWE, NXT, ROH or even some feds in the CV!, I am getting the "a vocal crowd let (insert worker name) know that they did not like them" note for almost every worker. This includes workers whose popularity are through the roof in the real world.

Now I know this is a limitation with the real world conversions, until we have a real fully finished mod, but I just don't think this is realistic.

I have never been to a wrestling show, aside from WWE, who have actually given any worker a hard time because they aren't the best wrestler. I shouldn't expect for an ROH crowd to literally cr*p on everything that I book, or for an NXT audience to hate both Adam Cole and Finn Balor.

I very much hope this is a mod issue, because I am absolutely loving this version of TEW more than I ever did 2016, but I am on the fence about buying if I am (a) this is a problem that will always be there and/or (b) I am that bad at it

 12. Love the addition of tournaments, but find myself having to click four or five times to get the matches I want from the tournament. Is it possible to add an "add to booking grid" button within the tournament tab itself in the PM booking screen so that it autopopulates a match on the card?
 13. Question for you regarding handshake contracts. I have a worker on $40 per show on a handshake deal. I push them a bit and just before the end of the 2nd month, I get a notification saying that person wants a pay rise. Ok fine, I pushed them a fair bit. I then get to the negotiation screen where that person is asking for $600 per month as a pay rise. Now obviously, I can’t pay her that as we have a handshake deal. I back out of negotiations and go to the contract screen and it says she is worth $60 per show. Is this a bug that the game is multiplying her request by 10? Or is this worker telling me that she doesn’t agree with my handshake deal, and instead would like a $600 a month deal? If it is the latter, surely she should also tell me that is what she wants?
 14. Thank you. I love the colour lists, so I guess I deal with it.
 15. In light of the recent post from Adam, I am disappointed that coloured lists are going to stay as is. I really love coloured lists, but I just hate how I have to click a million times to get from top to bottom. I also love that Adam has given the players the option to turn off coloured lists and use the original list boxes. I just don’t understand - I assume it’s limitations in the programming - why Adam has decided to have either/or, why not have coloured list boxes with scrolling capabilities.
 16. I actually want to use the new UI on every screen. I just want to be able to scroll through that list using the scroll on a mouse, or arrow keys.
 17. WWE have been building people up to be massive stars for years, before knocking them down to nobodies by losing in 20 seconds to Brock Lesnar. So it makes sense. :-D
 18. I believe that grades are no more. I'm sure I've seen an answer to this that says grades are no longer in the game, just numbers
 19.
I personally think the UI is very nice looking. I don't like how many clicks I have to make to get to where I want to be, but can get used to it.

Question I have for people is; did any of the beta testers pick up on the issues that people are experiencing with the UI? Were they happy with the overall look and functionality of the game?

 20.
I have two questions related to coloured lists

1. Can you choose what workers appear as colours somehow, or is it set to Champions Yellow, injured Red. For example, could I have Heels Red, Faces Yellow?

2. Is there a way to keep the coloured lists, as I really like this feature, and also be able to use the scroll wheel on the mouse/keyboard?

Thanks

 21. Would also love to know to answer to this one. Is booking an angle that is based entirely on overness not a good idea in 2020. Do we know how many points penalty an angle of this type will get? I guess if you think about it, a video based on popularity alone would be dull as anything, so maybe a rethink needed for vignettes.

AJ is 84. I got this road agent note. How high does the workers psych stat have to be for this to not appear?

Also, if I put the agent note "script" in this match between the two wrestlers in question, would that effect the proper flow of the match? Either negatively, or positively?

 24. Are you going to add ICW On Demand as a subscription service broadcaster?
