NOTE: There is the usual standalone database and pictures to do whatever you want with ("Characters8"), but there's also a copy of the default database included with all previous characters created by me as well as these new ones.

I've put the default database in there as well this time because I created a company and two teams in Australia, all of these new characters based in Australia have contracts.

It's only the default data with my characters, company and teams added, don't blame me if you overwrite your default database you've made edits to!

If you want to have the characters as I imagined them, here's a zip file containing the pictures and a database so you can import them into the default C-Verse data. (just extract the file directly into your WMMA5 folder - folders will be called "Characters7")

I think I've upgraded my PC twice since the last time I made anything and don't even have DAZ installed.. I have switched over to more in the way of creating logos and egotistically have my own thread

I swear you retired

But in all seriousness, making some renders here and there over the past year or so has kept me somewhat sane with all of the lockdown stuff going on.

Did you ever do any more work on this?

I did do some more but not enough to do another release. I'll get around to finishing eventually, but I don't want to give a release date as chances are I wouldn't meet it. (as mentioned in the original post I started it in WMMA3!)

There's also been almost zero feedback too! lol

Ahhh, you're probably right. It's been a while since i've played 2016 and forgot about that part. But as you can filter by any skill/s you want to in 2020 then I would've assumed that was a better option as you can be more specific to your needs.

This is such a a poor statement. The game was built with an a mod converter. It doesn't correctly convert the attributes. That is a TEW20 issue.

The converter is there to make mod making easier so that mod makers don't have to do everything again from scratch, not to convert a mod completely to the new version. It is impossible for the converter to convert a mod from a previous version with an entirely different set of information to the new version. I'm not trying to be flippant or anything of the sort but you can't expect to convert a TEW, WMMA, Football Manager or Call of Duty mod (examples) from one version to the other without some sort of effort involved to take new things into account which didn't exist in a previous version.

The problem with his entire post is that he's tagged as someone employed by GDS. That alone means that person should NEVER be debating/arguing/engaging in the forum. That's completely unprofessional behavior from the company. If a person with the company wants to engage in that behavior, then they should have a second account approved by Arlie to do so. If a AAA company tried this (and there have been instances of them doing that), they've been slammed all over the gamer media for doing it. Obviously, Adam is exempt from this as he's the sole coder on the game.

I agree. It is getting old seeing people tagged as employees and moderators talking down to people who have a criticism of the game. Doubt I will drop another dime on GDS games unless this changes.

Just look at the forums on Steam. If you refute a criticism even when you have nothing to do with a game or company then you're accused of being a "company shill", so what difference would myself having another account make? Surely you should want more people involved to be on hand to talk to/help/provide feedback?

In this instance i've pointed out a few things incorrect in the original post (like being able to change User Talents mid-game) and asked questions, such as asking for examples for the poor mic ratings so that either:

1. They can be looked into, or

2. The mod maker can look into the stats.

I've tried to avoid commenting on things which are a matter of preference (unless one thing mentioned contradicts another), such as the booking screen and the interface.

2016 you can assign a worker to “work down there” in a developmental territory if you have nothing for them at the time (even if they do not need to work on abilities). In 2020 we no longer have this option.

You can send someone to a child company, to a company you have a deal with or to a Dojo/Performance Centre if you have one.

I think sorting a worker by skill is so much easier in 2016.

In what way? By what "skill"?

In 2016 we can go to the user talents of the player and adjust how you want to spread them out at any time during the game. In 2020, once you set them you cannot go in and change them.

When have you been able to adjust them during the game at will? In 2016 you can't take a point away from Leadership and add it to Negotiating (for example) mid-game.

I hate that we have very limited flexibility in the in game editor mode of contracts.

I think the “angles” in 2020 seem to be designed to be intentionally more difficult for the sake of just being difficult. If two guys great on the microphone get a lower grade only because I choose “microphone” for both, then I think that is trying to over think the room.

What examples have you got that people great on the mic have poor ratings?

In every mod that I have played around with in 2020 the backstage is filled with red “mildly negative influence” people causing way too many “incidents” every show. This tells me that the attributes section has been totally revamped. I am not a fan of the work that we have to go through to adjust every worker to fix this.

I feel like this game is made to please “gamers” with a desire to “win and move to the next level” more than guys like me who just want to fantasy book and enjoy reliving and rewriting history.

You say you want to fantasy book but then later say you don't want to go for a sandbox mode?

I feel like changes were made to 2020 to “prevent people from cheating” or “working around the system”. While I do very little of that, I think the player should have a right to play any way they choose.

You can choose how you play. If you don't agree with stats, attributes, roles or contracts in the default data (or mod data) then you can change it to how you want it to be.

I have read the advice of “just play 2020 in sandbox mode” many times. While that may keep some of the changes to the game from taking effect, it does not stop them from popping up on screen constantly reminding you how poorly you are at playing the new version of this game.

If the game is telling you that you're playing poorly then why aren't you taking that advice into account and trying to improve?

You do realise that a number of things you've mentioned are to do with mods and not the game itself?

1. A giant white board in the editor. Strong dislike. Reasons being haven't used it one single time don't see the need for it.

What would you like there instead? You've said you dislike it but haven't suggested anything which you would prefer instead.

2. Titles and title histories. We have a blank white space so we can talk about the title, as long as certain amount words. That wouldn't be bad except, half the blank space is unused you hit the max letters allowed. Dislike this very much, think it's cool thing, but when half paragraph about the title is cut off, it becomes annoying.

If that's a bug, which sounds like it could be, then post it in the Tech Support Forum. It's probably (but I don't know for certain) an easy fix whereby clicking on it could make a pop-up appear like for Bio's to reveal the full text.

3. Company sizes this I just can't get my head wrapped around. Global, International, National, Regional, and Local is all you need. Just literally changed the names of the company sizes to avoid being called out for Cult for 7 straight years not being a real thing.

The manual tells you that Medium = Cult, Big = National with regards to how they used to be named if that helps?

It also explains why the change was made, "The criteria to reach each size is unique to the company's home region and can be found by looking at the Size section of the office or a company's profile.".

4. The removal of can only sign foreign workers to touring deals. Reason why this bothers me is for the simple fact if setting Japan up in the 80's correctly it will destroy the mods. Reason being lot workers went to Japan to work tours, because it was damn good money for a month or more. Especially with ironclad deals being in place where workers can't work in North America or Europe. It literally is making the mods made for 85 or further unplayable unless you rig the game not to rise beyond Cult/Medium.

Why would a company limit itself to only signing foreign workers for tours? Surely in the past foreign workers were brought in because they had name value, not simply because they were foreign? I'd happily have brought in The Road Warriors, Bruiser Brody, Stan Hansen etc. but there'd be no point bringing in someone like Barry Horrowitz or The Brooklyn Brawler (for example).

You could always put it in the Suggestions Forum so Adam can take it into consideration though.

5. Personalities literally if it goes unchecked by a modder it will kill a mod. One out of five workers when transferring the 80 mod had Gloomy personality. Which somehow using TGA as example and JCP. 70 or 80 backstage in TEW 2016 turned to 55 in TEW 2020.

That's a mod issue. It's virtually unheard of to expect a mod to perfectly be converted from one game to another without it requiring tweaking, whether that's in TEW or any other game.

7. Though any mod set during 1984 and beyond seems to need the WWF National so the AI doesn't kill the company.

This is a mod issue, not a game issue.

9. Attributes and stuff I do like how there done The fact transfering the mods over it seems lot of stuff gets screwed up.

See the previous point about converting mods requiring tweaking.

10. I really don't see how people thought that mods would get done faster especially with all the changes made.

Of course it's faster, it's impossible not to be. Which is quicker, starting a database from scratch or editing just the things that need to be edited?

I have played 5 games in this series and modded on 4 of them. This is my least favorite version of this game. It seriously makes me wonder if some changes in this game was to end Historical mods made for 70's, 80's, and early 90's for this series.
