  7. (this'll be a long post, so just skip to the end if you so wish) For those of you who know me/of me, I started on the Grey Dog Software forum some time in 2006 when I was off work sick due to a long term illness and I was browsing for wrestling games to play on a PC while at home bored out of my mind. After looking at various games, reviews and such I suddenly noticed in the bottom corner of a website an advert for something called, "Total Extreme Wrestling 2005". Intrigued, as i'd never heard of it, I clicked on the link and I was soon sucked into the wonderful world of TEW and the C-Verse. I saw that there was a thriving, and often helpful, community surrounding this game on the forums. Soon enough I wanted to help out too so I started a thread showing off cuts of rarer and more obscure pictures of real-life wrestlers in case someone wanted to use those instead of the usual ones. As I delved deeper into the C-Verse I noticed there were gaps in it, characters which had no pictures at all. After reading through various discussion posts and looking up how the pictures were created I decided to dip my toe into rendering and posted my first couple of renders a few months later. The response was quite overwhelming which I wasn't expecting, especially as if I look back now at those first ones a lot were quite terrible! I posted more for the next few days, requests came in too (which I tried to do) and then a week later I received a pm from someone called, "Adam Ryland"? He asked if he could use my renders in the next version of TEW, to which of course I said yes! Over time I continued to do renders and more people began to create renders too so i'd like to think I maybe inspired some people along the way such as Clarity, Trell, Sebsplex, JSilver, VbigB, Blasphemywebleed and Jtlant to name but a few. My apologies if I don't name everyone but I was helping out people on the forums and those who pm'd me with questions (and there were a lot!) during this period so there are too many to mention and remember. With more people creating renders a weight was lifted off my shoulders, it certainly wasn't my responsibility but to an extent it occasionally felt like it was as when I started there were very few people doing them or making them regularly. This also had the added benefit that because more people were creating renders it kept me on my toes and pushed me to create better ones myself. (thankfully so because as I mentioned previously, some of my early renders were awful!) I don't know exactly how many renders i've created since the beginning, but with it now being twelve years later it's definitely over five hundred spread between the TEW, WMMA and CBH series of games. I think most of my TEW renders have been re-rendered and/or replaced since I started, which i'm more than happy about because even if the bad render I initially created filled up a spot for a while it then sparked an idea in someone else to create a better one! For the recently released WMMA5 I created 100+ new renders and I re-rendered a bunch of my older ones that I still had the files for. They're easily some of the best renders i've ever created, in my opinion. With that being said, i'm going out on top before this old dog is taken out behind the woodshed so it's time I "officially" hang up my rendering hat. The newer breed such as the likes of LoNdOn, Scottie, Blackman, DeBosco, shipshirt, willr0ck, King Bison and more (sorry I can't name everyone!) have proven they're able to create good renders so I know the future is bright and in good hands. The baton has been passed, keep up the good work! But i'm still leaving on a 12-0 undefeated streak. (can you ever truly keep The Deadman down though?)

  9. This should cover it all better than I could explain: http://www.mmabettingodds.com/betting-odds-explained/ Essentially though, if one fighter has a minus and one has a plus, the fighter with a minus number is the favourite.

The following link has 24 Team logo's and an updated default database, nothing else has been changed in the database except for it pointing to the relevant graphics for the teams. http://www.mediafire.com/file/b6wa2l4acatlzd4/Update.zip The logo's may be used in the default database at a future date, but that's up to Adam.

  17. I'd suggest buying an old Sega Genesis/Mega Drive or one of the many new clones and buying Mega Bomberman.
  18. So as suspected, the PC version of WWE 2k15 does have lots of features missing just like the next-gen versions on console did. It's bizarre that so many people seem to be defending such things (not necessarily here, i'm talking in general), "It's their first next-gen version so it'll be better in 2k16", "They're testing the PC market to see if it's profitable" etc. To those people I say these things: 1. The features should've been in from the start. They were in previous WWE games so why were they taken out? Incompetence? It must be as it can't be for future paid DLC because the console versions are still missing numerous features too. You wouldn't buy a new car with missing wheels, so why buy a video game which is missing features? 2. DLC. Oh Lordy... it has "all DLC except for Paige", but you wont get it all straight away! Again, someone tries to sell you a new car, would you buy it with a missing wheel if you were told the wheel will be provided at some undisclosed point before the next quarter comes around? 3. The best way to test what the market is for a game series is to not release a buggy, broken mess with missing features. I'm sure it's sold very well as it was on the Top Sellers list on Steam (although I think it's due to no WWE wrestling games on PC in over a decade), but if it hadn't then they wouldn't bother with a PC version next year. The "It'll be better next year" argument is ridiculous, if it's a mess and no-one buys it they wont port it to PC so people have to buy it hoping that there'll be another version because then it's financially viable to the company. Video gamers are often the most understanding, and yet also, the most brutal of all consumers so it boggles my mind that so many have put up with so much for so long! Skyrim, a buggy mess upon release, Rome II upon release, an utter clusterfu... you know the rest, to name but two major releases. It truly baffles me how many people pre-order games when they're often terrible upon release because they clearly haven't been tested properly/released earlier than they should have been. The ironic thing is that it's usually the huge studios with millions of dollars that are the worse culprits. There are many twisted people out there, far more than I believe the average person (one who doesn't play video games) realises and they're also getting younger because you can't give them a slap when they get out of line these days. But i'm of the opinion that i'd rather them be sat at home twiddling with a gamepad doing things virtually than be out on the streets enacting their sick fantasies in the real world. I don't mean to bring up the age old "video games/movies create violence" discussion, but what the media says is utter garbage because if the person is of sound mind to begin with then they wont be affected by such things. I've played "violent" video games and watched countless horror movies since the age of about five or six years old (admittedly I probably shouldn't have) and yet I don't have a criminal record. Why's that? Because my brain isn't mush and I can tell the difference between reality and fantasy. If the media were to be believed, i'd likely have been the worlds youngest and most prolific serial killer. (i'm not by the way, don't call the cops) /rant over
  19. From what I heard/read, the "next-gen" versions were missing a lot of match types that were in the 360 and PS3 versions. Never know what to believe anymore!
  20. Danny Dyer is a must for such a game! (I wont do a text-driven Danny Dyer impression because it would be rather rude ) ^ This, the PC crowd will mod it to death. There are loads of mods for the (awful) RAW game that was from the original Xbox port. Didn't realise it had been so long (and why so long?!), I was waiting to get it once it was fully released because i'd played a similar game previously whose name currently eludes me. Being £20 and having probably 300+ other games which i've yet to complete or even play, I can't justify it currently and especially because it's still in early access. Having recently bought a GTX 980 I should get it for free! (although admittedly I still haven't played the previous two despite owning them for ages) Not sure if you're serious or not, but a question for you and everyone: Do any of you actually care about achievements or trading cards? I'm of the generation where beating the game is achievement enough, as soon as I receive any trading cards (I honestly have no idea how or why I get them) I put them up for sale. ^ This. With myself having numerous old consoles i've often looked to buy certain older games and some of them are more expensive than modern games. Yes I understand that they can now be "rare", but still... if it's someone who's supposedly just clearing out their attic/garage then they should be willing to accept a reasonable price! Not sure if you know the answer to this or not, but I heard on the grapevine that the XB1 and PS4 versions were stripped down from those that were released on the 360 and PS3. If that's true, which version is PC getting?
  21. Avoided it and any spoilers like the plague since it first came out on PS3 and Xbox 360 because I was waiting a loooooooong time for the PC version, and luckily I was given it on PC this week. I know most people think San Andreas is the best GTA game, but for myself who has played them all since the beginning I have to say GTA 5 > Vice City (and I absolutely love Vice City) > GTA San Andreas > GTA IV (because of the expansions) > GTA III > GTA London (technically an expansion I know) > GTA > GTA 2. It's unlikely to happen but I hope the next GTA is set on the shores of the UK, whether it's in modern times or not. GTA London 1969 would've been higher on my list had it been using any of the engines from GTA III onwards but obviously it was impossible at the time it was released.
  22. I might be wrong, as it was a while ago, but wasn't Steam initially created solely as a means for Valve to update their games? (Half-life in particular) This is probably blasphemy to mention this, but the Half-Life games have never grabbed me. I actually still have my original Half-Life disc, but when I played it way back when I never got around to completing it as after a while I just said, "meh", and moved onto something else. I never did, and likely never will, understand what made them have such great review scores and such high praise among gamers. (and yes I did try Half-Life 2 as well, same feeling) I would hazard a guess that the "85" in your name means you were born in '85? I was only born in 1982 so I didn't play the '84 Football Manager until about '87 (as I asked my older brother, "Why can't I control the players on the pitch?!"). If I was to take the mickey, i'd probably mention the Man Utd vs Liverpool game today, but I wont as this is not the thread for it... My friend is quite crazy when it comes to Football Manager! He'd have more hours if his laptop hadn't died a month ago because he'd sit with it in front of him while watching TV. Steam-wise I believe Medieval II: Total War should be top for me (but the timer reset when it updated and combined the normal version with the Kingdoms expansion). So it would go Medieval II (because of the fantastic mods if anyone was wondering) > Football Manager series > Fallout 3 (for some reason that timer reset too) > XCOM: Enemy Unknown (2012 version - try the Long War mod if you're up for a challenge) of which there's 143 hours played. Each to their own. For me I prefer to have a separate area to get away from wives/girlfriends/children, the living room does have consoles for "party gaming" though.
  23. Even the lower end ones will likely have good performance as they wont have all the extra guff that an OS like Windows has to suck up the resources. While I think the Steam machines are a great idea, because you can have all your PC titles in your living room on whatever big screen tv you may have, i'm not convinced that the Steam controller is going to be adequate enough for a lot of games. Two people of the same skill level with one using a controller and the other a keyboard + mouse, the K + M player will easily take the player using a controller to school every time. I can't imagine any self-respecting FPS or RTS player using a controller, so that still means you'll need a keyboard + mouse. While Steam wants to get into the living room market to compete with Xbox and Playstation (Wii-who?), I can see people buying Steam machines simply for gaming systems to replace their current desktops/laptops. Now that you can use a phone or tablet to do every day tasks (other than "proper" gaming) that a desktop PC can, why not buy a machine that devotes all of the power it has solely to games? Ok, i'll let you off... just this once. (although you should dump that PS4 and get a Xbox One ) I see your Championship Manager (which I also played) and i'll raise you the 1984 Football Manager game on the Commodore 64! No idea when I first got on Steam but I do know it was whenever Football Manager decided that you needed it, so whichever version that was I signed up to Steam on Christmas that year.
  24. Literally the only game a friend of mine plays on PC is Football Manager, the rest he plays are all console based. His hours for FM2012 and FM2014 are 1,438 and 1,428 respectively. Despite it only being March, he's already got 937hrs in on FM2015 so he's set to beat his record! Football Manager's a game where you can easily play whilst also watching tv/a movie etc. so the hours can definitely fly by without you even realising it, same with any of the GDS games.
