  1. The 'Contracts' part of the database makes things a lot easier for those of us who like to go through a roster and make changes before starting a game. Beforehand you'd have to alter things, start a game and realize there were errors preventing the game from starting because you set someone to have a written deal while they had PPA deals elsewhere and you didn't realize it. Or deleted a contract but they still had a manager set. Random things that would prevent you from starting because you didn't go to the multiple screens before you started.
  2. I'm really interested to check it out. I think they have a really solid group of people who have worked in multiple promotions and seen things run differently. When you have a chance to see the inter-workings of something, you tend to find ways that could be done more efficient, simple, or just downright better. I have a feeling we're going to see something that looks familiar, but has elements incorporated that we've never seen in wrestling before. I'm definitely rooting for them. This is an exciting thing for wrestling (the wrestlers and fans both) in general.
  3. Adam will we be able to rename our promotion in game? Would be cool if you could rebrand your company as it grew or if it relocated. Maybe it has a chance of hurting your momentum or popularity a little. I know this isn't the suggestions thread. Just hoping you could clear this up if this is planned to be in the game or not.

You can add this right through editing current 'Narratives' in your game. You can make it change the name, initials and logo on a given date. This will create news stories for the changes. It's only cosmetic, so you wouldn't see the benefits your looking for. Or you can just edit it in the editor. Sounds like something to post in the suggestion thread, as a new cool name or logo could definitely boost or lower momentum I'd think. Although, I'm not sure how the computer could rate the name or logo without a random guess.

  5. I want to see what happens with "Operation Lullaby" - if any of the three FBI/IRS agents made it into the SWF roster and if Richard Eisen landed himself in prison. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Jerry inherits SWF. Eric and Jerry have a family feud over the direction of the company. Eric leaves and starts his own company, using money his dad hid away, and running the company much like his dad would (leading many to believe Rich Eisen is calling the shots for the new company in jail). <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
  6. I think he has the financial means to produce a video like that himself. He certainly has the creativity to do that himself as well. The entire video made me think he was breaking out of WWE (the prison) and running for his life. His contract officially ended and he instantly begins promoting his new brand. Who knows what he's going to actually do, but it certainly makes you curious.
  7. I really like that we're going back to how products were a pre-set list, but its much more than just a "list". The headaches I've had trying to tweak and get products exactly how I want, to be able to book the way that I want with the results that I want. This not only makes things quicker for mod makers, but it makes setting up a new promotion for a regular game much faster. The amount of time I would spend on a product before I even started the save game is ridiculous. This is a very nice change.

Not gonna lie, I teared up. Wrestlemania was worth it for that match alone.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Match of the night, by far. To me, that was the main event and the crowd believed it too. I don't think they'd have been as hot if it went on last, after 7 hours of pre-show and wrestling before them. One reason the "main event" the past few years haven't been the greatest in my opinion. The crowd is absolutely dead by that point.</p>

It's so stupid that a rookie who enters the business won't stay in development.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Agreed. Even when a worker is a hotshot and I want him to learn the product before bringing him up. He won't sign the developmental because he's too good for it. Instead I sign him to a written deal and send him to work in development, hurting his morale. That should be fixed with this, I hope.</p>
  10. The new Indy shows adds a lot to the game world. Anything to keep people working and gaining skills, even when they are unemployed I'm all for.

I personally wouldn't use an example of the games changing calendar systems as my reasoning for why the game isn't going to change it's calendar system, but maybe that's just me.

The example was showing you that he used the 365-day calendar once before and removed it because it didn't work. The current format has been used for 15 years and clearly isn't broken, as you suggested it needed to be fixed.

  11. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="awesomenessofme1" data-cite="awesomenessofme1" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46105" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Honestly, I don't even know the reason why they have the calendar the way they do currently. Is it an issue with the AI not knowing how to properly schedule annual events? If so, this is the perfect time to fix it. And I can't think of any other reason why it would be necessary off the top of my head.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> It doesn't need to be "fixed". TEW2004 had a real calendar. Adam removed it when he made TEW2005 and we've had it that way for almost 15 years now. I hate to be the one to break it to you, but that isn't a part of the game that's going to change. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  12. I guess I don't understand the purpose for block taping and why so many people are either confused about it or not happy with the feature already. I don't see myself using this feature whatsoever, as I prefer a live product, it will always maximize the rating and be "fresh". I could see myself maybe booking two shows at a time, so it would only be two nights a month, as opposed to four nights. That could help financially and make it so you don't lose out on the ratings as much. I just don't see myself ever watching something that's been written about for two, three, four weeks before its even ran on TV. This is assuming modern-Internet age, not pre-late 90's.
  13. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="BuddyGarner" data-cite="BuddyGarner" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46105" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Not really digging the broadcasting stuff. The financial stuff I don't really see being a big draw to players.<p> </p><p> In my opinion the financial parts of the game should be streamlined so more effort can go into the core (booking).</p><p> </p><p> I mean you see all the suggestions that go in the suggestions forum. How many are about finances that aren't about streamlining things like contract negotiations?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> So you want to be the head booker and have zero control over how the company operates, that's fine, you should have that option if you want. But I know there are others, like me, who want more and more control over this game. I don't want to just be a head booker and book shows, I want to run everything from top to bottom about a wrestling company.</p>
  14. As more entries are released, obviously the big picture will make sense. I just hope something was planned for that aspect of booking. I'd rather sort matches by enhancement and openers as opposed to "unknowns". It would just be a turn off to me. And yes if that is the case, setting divisions would be a work around, but that would add a bunch of unnecessary work and filtering. Like I said, I'm sure eventually my questions will be answered with a journal entry. It could be a month from now or 6 months from now. Who knows. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/confused.png.d4a8e6b6eab0c67698b911fb041c0ed1.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

That's 17 shows a month (12 house shows, 4 tv, one PPV). $3500 x 17 = $59,500 a month so the $20,000 is much more affordable. </p><p> </p><p> That's how I like to think of it anyway.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I honestly completely overlooked house shows for some reason. Thank you for your reply, it actually brought me back down to reality. I'm not really sure how I was forgetting that piece of the contracts. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/confused.png.d4a8e6b6eab0c67698b911fb041c0ed1.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  16. <p>I'm wondering if the PPA / Written money change has been affected with this new contract change. If anyone ever noticed, most top guys for a cult promotion would work shows for $2500-$3500 PPA. When you offer them a written deal, they usually want $20k or more. $3500 x 5 shows = $17,500</p><p> </p><p>

I guess what I'm getting at... with this new feature and the way the old system worked, this would be extremely exploitable. I would just offer exclusive PPA deals to everyone and save the company quite a bit of money.</p>

Hoping he finds some sort of motivation or character wherever he ends up.</p><p> </p><p> I think he’s just as much to blame for his booking as creative is. He never looks motivated.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> He never looks motivated? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that what his character is supposed to come across as? The doesn't care attitude, the loose canon, the lunatic, etc. To say WWE isn't to blame for how they portray one of their characters is borderline ignorant. He had a good run as WWE champion and his interview with Austin on the Network was excellent. He's bored and tired of being second string. They need to get the belt off Lesnar and never put it on him again. He is literally killing every young talent without even doing anything himself.</p>
  18. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Historian" data-cite="Historian" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46105" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Would it be feasible to have both levels? The ability to 'turnoff' having to manage these things? Or make it the difference between playing as a booker and playing as an owner? I like the idea of being able to micromanage, but I also know that at some points I would probably be overwhelmed.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> It needs to. I'm beyond bored with TEW financials. Its a screen you barely have any control over whatsoever. You can't tell me that Eric Bischoff didn't book shows and control all aspects of marketing and financials in WCW.</p><p> </p><p> The game needs to allow "head booker", "owner", and "executive". Players that won't want the control can turn it off and use the old system. Those that one to run EVERYTHING to do with a wrestling company can do it this way.</p>
  19. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Mammoth" data-cite="Mammoth" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46105" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I don't know if this is what Adam meant when he said "as well as" in his opening gambit, but with the addition of criteria other than the traditional "Hold Battle Royal" and "All X vs. X", I'd actually love to see multiple "AI Instructions". So "AI Instruction 1" would be "All 5 vs. 5" and "AI Instruction 2" would be "Main event is 1 vs 1", so you have total control over the card AND main event simultaneously. This would be much more accurate to how WWE currently uses Survivor Series, as they often run a "normal" main event alongside the traditional Survivor Series matches these days. If that is how Adam intended his wording, then I love today's feature even more.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> That's how I understood the entry. </p><p> </p><p> "The possible instructions for AI events have been expanded, including new match types <strong>and the ability to set specific main events as well as 'whole show' booking styles.</strong>"</p><p> </p><p> With that quote, I'd assume that's what he means. At least that's how I take him saying "as well as".</p>

You can still run shows across a border whenever you like, it just won't impact your size rating. That might change for some of the regions on the US borders during testing, but for now it's not planned.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> You'd think that a company running down in Texas or other similar southern states would see a possible increase in Mexico if the product is favorable and they start running shows in the other country. I'd say the same would go for Northern America, where states like Oregon, Wisconsin, upstate-NY, Maine, and a slew of others would see benefits if they ran shows in the province of Canada directly above them. Personally, if I'm running a promotion in New England - I should be able to bust into Montreal and Quebec and have it help my company. The Canadian fanbase would be bigger and possibly able to draw more fans than our own home state of Maine in the USA. </p><p> </p><p> I think the game should be able to simulate these situations. I'm not saying it should be easy to attain, because it would be extremely hard for a company based in the state of Maine to bust into major Canadian markets. It would take a lot of time and money. But I think you should be able to go after something like this and have it help increase your size. </p><p> </p><p> I could see myself running a promotion in New England, busting into the Canadian markets I mentioned, as well as the East Coast of America. You should be able to grow your company when you get a stronghold over a specific amount of areas, no matter where they are.</p>
