1. Some people have reported some success with that technique. I've managed to get a company through the dry period with just 1 show a month, but you end up running with just 5 hired wrestlers. After that some people have pre-set a owner who can be a referee. I allowed the game to assign me an owner and ended up with Marvin Earnest. I used him as an announcer and hired a referee. Once you get to F popularity it seems to get a lot easier fairly quickly. The sponsor money is enough to pay for shows and you can use your ticket and merchandise sales for profit and slow expansion of your roster.
 2. The way sponsorship works for a local company is a bit brutal. You have to be so careful about how deep in debt you go in the first 6 months and can't have the wrestling industry or economy be below E+ or you just won't get back in the black in time to avoid bankruptcy.

I once made the mistake of filling out a roster with cheapo debuts after I jumped to small to meet the minimum wrestler requirement and my first few shows were dreadful <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

So true.

Of course what I always end up doing is slowly adding wrestlers long before I get to small. In both of my RTG games I had 8 wrestlers before 2016 ended and 10 before March 2017 ended. I did have to go out and find 6 more, but that was a lot less painful than trying to add 10 new wrestlers in a pop>perf promotion.

But that's part of what makes this game fun. You have to work out how to develop your talent and make them successful. The RtG just forces you to be a bit more methodical and patient than you might be in SWF. In SWF you used to be able to just swoop in and steal a worker from CZCW or another of the regional feds after they had built up the worker. a RtG promotion has to create their starts from scratch and hope they aren't stolen.

(Bizarrely the richest company in the world SOTBPW only took perpetual midcarder tag specialist Dragon Americano from us). So my character wins the King of New York at our final show for the year, in front of 75 000 fans, and being shown around the world (on CommPlanet and our very own network in Japan). A couple of days later Shooter Sean Deeley is nominated the best wrestler in the world and we win pretty much all the major awards. My user character is only 4th <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />. We dominate the top 10 of the Power 500, only missing one spot (5th for Nicky Champion at SOTBPW). However I have only ever had one solitary 100 match, predictably in a tag. My stamina means that it's impossible to get a single 100.

We come in second place in the national battles - it's impossible to compete with Champagne Lover and Nicky Champion. (CL is on time decline so it'll happen eventually). But we're still growing because of our shows. Across the globe the interesting development is the arrival of CommPlanet which means that WLW are now International and growing. CGC are national in Canada with a great little roster including Wolf Hawkins, Steve Frehley, Davis Wayne Newton and .... the 48-year old Dan DaLay. Still. Despite being at the bottom of time decline with 0 in most top row stats, 17 consistency and 0 stamina. Good choice in best friends there Dan.

SWF and TCW have both hit national at the start of the year so there are currently 5 national companies in the US (SOTBPW and 21CW are the other two). WLW are on the verge as well and will hit US national during January. Despite having less pulling power in Japan than BHOTWG. IF SWF could book themselves properly then they could dethrone SOTBPW from the Pulling Power throne as they have a plethora of dudes with 92+ SQ. Unfortunately they're all loitering around the midcard to no avail.

Skills at end of 2023

Skills at start

I don't know if I want to carry on. In one respect I have the idea of creating a faction of the original workers (Xavi, Silencer, Austin Smooth, Cobra and Hawkeye Calhoun) as bitter veterans angry at the upstarts coming in and "taking over". (I've got some fantastic newgens coming up, as well as Devyn Reynaud who has obviously had a great destiny roll). There's always the aim of getting into the Hall of Immortals as well. But I quite fancy the idea of starting over setting SAW to open in Jan 2016.

Congrats, well done.

If you take a month off, you'll make back a decent chunk of change. I'm neurotic about being in debt, so I usually only run a show every other month my first year and I come out in a good financial position.

Another advantage of this is that you fill the game world out with fresh debuts a lot quicker. These guys are very likely to have 0 popularity, and you can fill you roster out with them for much, much less than $200 a worker. Just remember to not cover travel expenses.

I'm probably at neurotic as you, but I prefer to have a show each month. My mental picture of a wrestling promotion always has them losing fans if they don't have anything going on for 5 weeks or more. Yes, TEW doesn't have popularity start to drop that quickly, but in my mind that is what would happen, so I always try to have a show each month.

As for debuts. That might work in a performance based company, but if you have popularity matter the 0 pop debuts are painful for the company. It's better to take 6 workers and build them up for 6-8 months and then introduce new debuts once your company is making money. You take a much smaller penalty that way.

 7. I've had 2 games go past 18 months. One is at 3 years 4 months and holding, the other is at 2 years, 2 months and I'm currently playing. Here's what I found worked for me. 1) hire 5 workers and 1 referee. Hope your owner can be an announcer. Go as cheap as you can. 2) run shows in the first week of each month when possible. (2nd week for the first show so you have your owner signed, hopefully he'll work for free.) 3) Run 1 show per month. 4) if you aren't in a bad economy/wrestling industry/sponsorship product, you should be able to start making a monthly profit by September. 5) If you kept expenses down enough, you'll owe less than $7,000 when you start making a profit, and can be making $2,000/month in profit by March, which will get you out of debt before June 2017 when you'd otherwise be shut down. Other people run 3-4 shows a month for the first 3-4 months and then stop for 2-3 months to make the money back. It can work, but I haven't tried that and don't know how it would work out.

This determines if a company will be interested in accepting your application.

You can find it by going to your office. There are the four buttons in a row. E-mail, Decisions, User detail, and User Diary. Click on the user detail and your reputation should be in the top right. The ? for it is clear.

"Your reputation rises and falls based on your performance; good cards and rising in size will boost it, for example. Your reputation is primarily used in job hunting; the bigger the company, the higher your reputation will need to be to get hired."

So put on good shows and keep growing your company and eventually other companies will show interest.

 12.
My RTG game that I'm running as a dynasty has finally reached the end of 2017, so I'm 2 years in. Got luck and rolled a 22, which raised my Chain Wrestling. What do they represent, and assuming higher is better, how do I increase them?

Prestige is how the other companies view your promotion. Its largely a function of size as well as winning battles. It affects who will be interested in signing with your company. Some wrestlers don't want to work for a company that lacks prestige no matter how bit it is. Put on good shows and keep raising your companies popularity and this will grow.

Momentum is the more immediate version. This can be affected by simple things like hiring a worker who is popular. Momentum will change much more quickly, but also has less of an overall effect, but like Prestige it largely is a number revealing how people perceive your promotion. One with a high momentum is seen to be doing well so it is more likely to get a few more people to attend a show. I believe it can help a little in the overall rating of a show, but if it does its not by much.

One more thing, in smaller companies you can end up signing someone who is also signed to another promotion, the worker will decide which company's show to attend based on the company prestige. The one with higher prestige therefore has an advantage in scheduling as they don't have to worry about their workers saying "sorry, I work for another company and they have a show the same night so I'm not available."

I had last played back in 2012 when TEW 2010 was the latest and sponsorships worked much differently.

Once I figured it out I've had a lot more luck. I have one RTG game with a integrated performance=popularity product that I've run through Feb 2019. It's been interesting and I learned quite a bit about the new production values. I also watched the number of AI run companies that just don't make it. They tend to be far too aggressive spending on high production values.

My main game is a RtG Women's Promotion based in the Mid Atlantic region. (popularity rated over performance) I'm publishing a dynasty on this one, but the dynasty only shows my first 2 events. In the game I just finished my one match for Aug 2017. I'm not wealthy (just $13,000 at the start of August.), but the company does make money and I've been winning the regional battles with PSW and MAW. Those will end as soon as MAW is shut down. They are $80,000 in debt and losing about $5,000 per month so its only a question of when now.

 16. Interesting wrestler. *Sigh* another performance based RtG promotion. Those are easy compared to a popularity based one. But I hope you have fun, that's the most important part.

I'm surprised. I've run 2 RTG companies and raised them from 0 popularity to small.

(well one all the way to E popularity and my dynasty is at F+ popularity but hasn't officially become "small")

In that time I never got a warning about repetitive booking.

But I do only have 1 show a month and I'm careful to rotate the matchups so that no match reoccurs more often than once every four months at the start when I have 6 workers. There is even a warning about it when you look at the settings. Basically you are using copyrighted songs without paying at that level. After that time I always locked up the product when creating the company to prevent the problem.

Funny thing is having it happen back in 2010 helped me quite a bit. I thought I had a performance=popularity promotion, but the owner made popularity more important. I had to learn how to book a popularity based fed to survive and I'm finding that I can use that now that my RTG game is for a popularity based promotion. I kind of want some room for flexibility if trends suddenly make us unfashionable, but at what cost?

I simply lock in the product when I create the program so that no owner can make changes. So the min and max on each product will equal what the product is. Yes, it leaves no flexibility for trends, but in the past I had the product get changed quite a bit, and this prevents it.

 21. There is no penalty for repetitive booking when you have a local-sized promotion.

Well, not if the economy is D or worse. You just don't get the sponsor money to afford the worker costs that build up over multiple shows.

In both of the games I've run, when I first hit small my sponsor money per month was about $3,000 after the economy adjustment kicked in. In one game I went 7 months where I never made more than $400 and sometimes lost up to $200 while slowly progressing with D- rated shows. (and no regional battle.)

My current game (which I am tracking with a dynasty in the 2016 Dynasties file on this form) I'm at May 1, 2017 (playing, the dynasty is only posted through Feb 2016) and just started getting into regional battles with MAW and PSW. My one hope is that one of those 2 companies doesn't survive to year end as both are in debt. I can possibly beat them occasionally, but my company will never consistently beat both of them on show quality. And as I just hit 11.3% popularity (technically I'm not small yet, due to the importance of the Mid Atlantic Region) my expected sponsor money is $4,500, but the D- economy means I get $3,200 and less than $1000 in profit after paying my owner and the roster of 11 workers. I even need to find 6 more soon if I don't get a manager or 2.

 23.

So attempt number 3 is the key...

Not only are we still going strong but i have managed to survive a second full year, as well as beating the Owner goal of reach 10,000 by January 2018.

The Finances sit at 12.954. Our pop is 13.3.. So yes we have hit Small. We went Small after Novembers show and boy was i not ready for what comes with that, so we have to have 16 Wrestlers on the Roster - So i need to Hire 8 more. Production has to go up in many areas - We cannot afford this, i'm putting everything up bar 'Live Event Experience' the extra 1,000 per show on top of all the other rises is just too much ... For now. I have hired an Announcer (Ian Rosa) and Simona Cox will go on Colour.

Yeah, the rise to Small is a bit of a surprise, especially as you quickly discover that you have to pay quite a bit to increase your production values to compete with far more established companies.

Be interesting to see your company ride out 2018. Sounds like that will be the make or break year for your company.

 24. Yuck another performance based promotion. Not that they are necessarily bad, but I like to have a real challenge and put the rules so popularity matters more.
 25. For the most part you get a decent owner if you don't set one. That second critical goal might burn you. Its very uncommon to go through the first 2 years without at least 2 new companies forming and they all tend to be ranked higher than a local company. I've ended up #42 for a while when that happens.
