A young female wrestler with the right personality can become a figurehead specifically for young women, if she's playing a face. Sounds Like Electric Dreamer qualifies.

 2. I continue to play 2 different RTG games. One is in an all women's promotion. I am posting a dynasty for that. If you want you can watch my progress in the 2016 Dynasties forum.

Once you know what a wrestler can do, you get a lot better at booking them.

That's part of why the veteran players all have "go to" workers. Those are the workers they've used for years and that they are sure can put on good performances if booked the way they prefer.

Understanding what I should be doing, when and with whom. Although it's seemingly much easier to get things right at small/regional level, I'm out of my depth above that.

I've started with EMLL, running weekly events alongside the existing 3 events that they run, which I'll probably keep and hold as special events during those months.

After two weekly shows, we've risen to regional and we're still progressing fairly well come the beginning of the second month. I decided to create a women's division and thanks to that, Aguila Azul Celeste is continually having the best matches on the card against anybody. I'm hoping the owner will eventually let me change to an integrated roster

It takes a while before you start to understand how to book people and I agree the larger promotions get a lot more complex in a hurry. However, if you can book a small fed, you can book a national size fed with the same product. (The product does make a difference. Some people excel with a performance is rated higher than popularity product, but struggle with the popularity driven promotions. Which is part of what makes SWF, TCW and USPW all a bit tricky as all are rated on the popularity of their workers more than on the quality of the performance.)

If you click on the company button on the top of the screen (3rd from the left, just right of the cell phone for your office), you'll get a list of all open promotions. Click on the one you want the finances of and then click on the button "Tour the Company" that appears. You'll see a write up that details the company size, prestige and financial position. It's vague, using words like "has limited finances", "Is financially comfortable" etc, but it will clearly say if a company is in debt as well as ranking them against all open companies.

So if there are 39 companies open, and your company has $15,000 in the bank, you can check your company. If it turns out you are ranked #36 for finances, you can quickly infer that the three ranked lower than you are likely to be in debt.

As I said earlier I had one game where at my lowest I was -$6,000 and I climbed out quickly once the sponsor money started rolling in. But that was a game where the wrestling industry level meant that I was getting 0.5% Pop every month so by Dec 2016 I was at 6.0. At 0.2% per month you'd have been at 2.4% which is less than I had after 5 months. (IIRC in December 2016 my promotion made more than $1000)

And that is what hurts. The money actually comes in fairly nicely once you get your companies Pop high enough to reach F. Not truly great, but you make enough to pay the bills and perhaps put $1,000-$2,000 in the bank each month.

This one is based on the premise that the "smart" wrestling fans check out the internet and note what people are saying about the experience at the other companies the same size as yours, so if you aren't putting on as good a show with a good policy of uploading top quality video highlights, they tend to look a bit down on your shows overall.

Not really realistic, but its used to cover a number of things. And it does force the player to make a few more intelligent decisions.

 11. I believe Dr. Hook has it right. I also just use letter grades, but I was uniformly getting D grades at local and once I jumped up to small my grades dropped to D- until I was making enough money to afford to get 3 of the 4 production areas up so they were equal to that of my best rivals. And once I did get them up my show grades jumped to D+, so it could have been a drop of about 10 points.

I didn't realize that Kitty Katz can wrestle.

I agree on the angle situation. I almost always set it to 70% in my RTG promotions so I can use a lot of taunting and attacks to help bolster my storylines. The boost you get from a good storyline is definitely something to work for.

That wrestling industry is going to suck. You'll see almost no boost in popularity no matter how good your shows are, which means sponsorship cash will grow slowly. (IIRC, you'll see your popularity only go up 0.2% each time rather than the 0.5% you can get with a wrestling industry above E)

I suspect we'll see some repeat booking penalties cropping up soon with only 6 workers on the books... but with 0 popularity, anything is better.

Incidentally, I shuffled my stats a bit - almost all my top row points went into brawling as an experiment. I'm hoping for a favourable year-end roll to get me a little variety up top this time.

Local companies can't get penalized for repeat bookings. That was added to reflect the fact that people understand you don't have many people.

And I've run shows every month and made it out of debt by Feb 2017 in one RTG game, and in the 2nd in April 2016 I'm only $2500 in debt despite running a show every month.

The trick is:

1) cheap workers. (my worker costs are/were $1800 for the game that is now in 2019 and $1740 for the game that I just started).

2) have shows early in the month to maximize the sponsor revenue

3) Patience. My method usually means I get to small in very late 2017 or early 2018 (April 2018 for the game that has gone that long.), but I reach that point with a solid bank account. (Again using my game that has gotten to 2019, I had over $25000 in the bank when I hit small. It's allowed me to weather a really bad economy that has never seemed to get above D- for long and usually is around E/E-. My sponsorship forecast is $8400 and I get maybe $5500.) I'm profitable because I don't run a second show yet, and I have mostly cheap workers. I think the most expensive one is $720/PPA. (Well the owner is $986/Written, but I can't fire him. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> )

Note: I noticed your comment about losing almost a grand in your first month. I don't have the exact numbers anymore, but IIRC in my longer game my first month's finances went something like. (This isn't 100% accurate, but it does reflect the pattern.)

Jan 2016 - lost $1300

Feb 2016 - Lost $1100

Mar 2016 - Lost $1200

Apr 2016 - Lost $900

May 2016 - Lost $450

June 2016 - Lost $300

July 2016 - Lost $200

Aug 2016 - Lost $100

Sept 2016 - Made $90

Once I started making money I quickly got back in the black and was able to add 4 more wrestlers even before I hit small and continue to make money. (I had an owner goal of having $10,000 in the bank on Jan 1, 2018)

The one I'm going to turn into a dynasty is only 4 months in, but it turns out I have the exact figures in a word document. (This is with an A economy and a product favorable to sponsorship, so its about the best I think anyone could do.)

Jan 2016 - lost $1354

Feb 2016 - lost $871

Mar 2016 - lost $801

Apr 2016 - lost $386

Total - lost $3412 since opening.

Gutted, was really enjoying this.

EDIT: Took 2 months from first Email to closure, took one month off and was going to make around 1,500 in June...

I've got 2 RTG games running. One just to see what had changed from TEW 2010 (I never played 2013 much) and one that I'm going to write up as a dynasty. However, this was after 5 financial failures.

What I see is.

1) although running 2 shows per month can get your company's popularity up fast, you have to balance that with the additional costs. Early sponsorship cash is poor, especially if the economy is D- or less and that means the extra $2500 for a second show just puts you that much more behind when it often is difficult to be gaining more than $2000 per month by June 2017 (unless you don't do a show on some months.)

2) You really need to run a minimal roster at first. Both of my successful RTG games have started with only 6 workers being signed. (5 wrestlers and 1 referee). I use my owner as the announcer (fortunately its Marvin Earnest in both so he starts at around 72 announcing) and I use the best wrestler as my road agent. (and in the game that has gotten to 2019, my user character is the #2 road agent as his psychology score is 63 now.)

3) don't avoid getting to small, but you probably shouldn't rush it either. This might not be as true with a product where performance >> Popularity, but in ones where popularity matters part of what you need to do is get the workers popularity up a bit before you make the leap. You also need to consider the fact that at small your promotion will get compared to all other small promotions in the region/country and if your production values aren't as good, you take a penalty on every show. Raising the values can quickly add $4000 or more to your monthly bill. {In my game that is in 2019, 2 small companies are running pro level production for the camera they pay $7500 per month and $2000 per show, the semi-pro level I maintain is $1500 per month and $500 per show. - my profit last month was $900.)

4) also concerning the jump to small, many of the AI run companies will run very high production values, even if it runs them out of business. I saw GSW get a warning that they were going to go bankrupt and the company actually proceeded to increase its music and ticket taking settings. They died shortly after that.

Also is it 6 months from the first message?

You have to be in the black or you will get shut down.

As for the time window, that seems to vary. Adam said that every month you fail to get the balance above $0 the "banks" will get upset and take away a "patience point" from your company. He did not say how few have to remain before they shut a company down (only that depending on company size you can stay in the red from 6 months to 5 years depending on company size) For an RTG company I'd expect that you have until the last day of June of your second month before you are shut down.

What they do now is provide a boost to the score of any angles/matches involving people who are in a hot storyline. This is great for helping get a match grade up between two workers, but it takes some work on the storyline to get people interested.

And the rating of a storyline is still based on how good the angles and matches are. The other danger is that it could result in your promoted worker developing a bit of an attitude problem as his ego takes over.

You also have to accept that the fans might not really care about the worker yet. If your promotion is more about popularity than performance the worker might end up being in a bunch of low scoring segments despite being on the midcard, which could hurt their development.

What you need to do is find out how long they can go before you get the warning about them visibly tiring in a match. after you know that you keep having perform in matches that are almost that long and you keep trying to increase the time. If they are young, their stamina will improve and after 10-20 shows they should be more able to go all out.

This does depend on the age of the wrestler. Older wrestlers won't improve as much or sometimes won't improve at all and there will be nothing more you can do.

In fact, something similar works for safety, consistency and psych, although all 3 of those usually require that you have your worker face someone with high stats. But a huge part is just being in enough matches to gain skill.
