1. 1) How much higher was your show rating over your current popularity? If your popularity is 60 and your show only got a 61 rating you won't see much of an improvement. 2) what is the important of the region. You jump up when your influence is over the minimum in the region, not your popularity. If a region has only 75% influence, you need to have 33% more popularity. example. Target influence 60, region importance 75% Popularity of 60 x .75 = 45 influence You are short. Popularity of 72 x .75 = 54 Still short Popularity of 80 X .75 = 60 You'd finally see the pop at 80 popularity.
 2. Sometimes making mistakes is fun, and I definitely learn as much from some of the mistakes as I would with a year of perfect shows. I do keep thinking "I ought to set up something more. But unless I can run 2 monitors at the same time (so one can have my notes and the other the game.) I doubt that I'll be in a hurry to do that. Note to self, see if my working computer can handle 2 monitors at the same time.
 3. I can see developing talent, but that's quite a bit of talent to develop all at once. I guess I'm very conservative then. I might go 4-6 people above minimum for wrestlers, but I'd never have as many as you do.

I can tell you that the same methods I used to get people over in TEW13 are working in TEW16, with some variances (i.e. highly rated angles don't produce quite as much popularity gains as they did in TEW13). My typical method involved getting one non-wrestler as over as possible and using them (in angles) to bootstrap whoever I wanted. That's why people like Emma Chase and Melanie Florence (and Jenny Playmate) hold so much value for me. Once they have the entertainment skills, getting the overness happens naturally over time, since they're used so often. And once they have the overness, everyone they work with is boosted. However, I would consider changing my product to more of a performance bias. The workers you have can GO in the ring so they may be better served gaining overness that way. You'll also find that you can run ME/UM and sometimes even ME/MC matches and still increase your promotion's popularity because of the skill of the workers involved. For that reason, I typically shy away from popularity biased products.

Remianen, has some good advice. Note, he admits that a fed with a product that runs off overness (popularity) rather than performance is much more difficult to book. You can't just ride 1-2 top performers up and have them bring the rest up. You have to build overness with feuds, good matches and some well timed upset wins.

We're still in debt, but we're making more money every month, and should be in the black well before the deadline. I've been in and out of the main event, and am pleased with my growth in everything but maybe the top row. We're coming up on Small, I think, and my current plan is to just barrel on through and see how it goes.

It usually takes a minimum of 22 months to get a company that started at 0 popularity up to small. Small requires that you have F+ influence in 1 region. F+ starts at 11.5 I believe, so in a region with 100% importance you'd need 23 shows if your pop goes up 0.5% per show. Of course, you can go up faster if the wresting industry is very good.

**edit** nevermind. I just saw your earlier posts about doing multiple shows a month on an earlier patch. You probably are close to small then.

I guess that's what this thread is for, sort of, but I'm not thinking of small questions.

It'd be somewhere between a manual and the promotion specific threads, just setting out the fundamentals like how to get someone over, how to get/keep a feud hot and so on.

And before someone says 'Hot angles/matches, duh' please bear in mind that not everyone runs WWE/SWF. Whether to rely on the default angles or create your own ones. How to pace a feud when you're booking monthly shows vs. a regular TV/PPV schedule. It might include guidance on what should be considered successful at different size levels - an E show at local is small, not so much at regional, and so on.

A thread like this could even be useful for more experienced players - I know I have trouble getting workers over in smaller feds, for example, so my ratings tend to stagnate as my main eventers don't gain as much from their matches as the undercard do.

I see Jaded already noted that Adam is trying to put together a tutorial/teaching thread, but I can add a bit here.

1) Angles mostly matter for promotions that run a more entertainment style, and the default ones can work fine if you pay attention to what they are graded on. Putting that no name F- popularity worker in an interview angle graded on overness is a bad idea.

2) In general you want your show grade to be 1 full grade above your current overness in the region when possible. So a local fed is going to see their popularity climb with a show that is E- or higher. They can still grow with an F+ show if the wrestling industry is high, but aim for a full grade and you won't have trouble.

I can add a bit more if I knew where you were as I almost always run games with local feds to start and grow them, so I've gotten more than one local fed up to cult over the course of a long game, but Remianen probably knows more.

 10.
Well, my first attempt to get past May 2016 is still going. And I got past Dec 2016.

My promotion is still a bit low on cash, I finished the year at -$4,029 (and with a requirement that I end 2017 at $10,000 cash on hand). However, I made money in October, November and December so the flow is in the right direction.

I even pulled off a D+ show in December (with a fed that balances performance and popularity.)

For my UC, I rolled 22, which raised my chain wrestling to 38.3.

Now on to 2017. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I'd move to someplace on the mainland, but that's me.

Otherwise it looks like you are doing something interesting.

 12. I mostly use physical notepads. But I also just keep quite a bit in my head. I use the notepads to chart out the next 2-3 months of events and sometimes the angles, but mostly I just try to remember what I'm doing. (And yes, I make a lot of mistakes if I don't play regularly.) In the past I would have a clipboard with more extensive notes, but I have to find it and the paper I used.

 14. True, but I hope to pull of D- level shows quickly. I'm greedy that way. I did get started and while I'm probably still a bit high, its a lot better. Did get Marvin Earnest as the owner. He told me he'd change the product, but I've locked that. He's the announcer (at 72 announcing. ) Roster this time Joji - face main event - $380 Emma Bitch - heel upper midcard (hired as "icon") - $450 She'll also be the road agent. Lucas Danger - heel upper midcard - $220 Laura Flame - heel midcard - $240 Natalie DiMarco - face midcard - $150 Kurt Lovenkrantz - ref - $290 That's a total cost of $1730 if I use everyone. (I don't pay travel costs.) ----- And after my first event I've already found out that Lucas Danger is going to have an extremely short tenure with the company since he showed up on drugs. I got messages about it right away. Fortunately I already talked to Kid Fantastic and have him signed, but he's out still with his broken arm.
 15. I'm not seeing many workers for less than $200 unless they are completely unacceptable to me. I actually have some minimum standards for safety and such.

I'm making about 4000 a month now (and was breaking even at around 2000)... at local you don't have a minimum roster and if you use generic venues you save on some costs. I started this game on the 1.12 patch and it's perfecftly doable... but sponsors are your main income, meaning you lose money running shows... so if you run more shows, you're only going to hurt things more. At the start I was losing about 2000 a month, but if you are putting on good enough shows by using one big star (Nicolas Lopez was great for that) and some bargain talent then you will gain popularity rapidly. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> My industry and economy were below D+ for the first year, so it was a rough start but they are growing great now and I'm about to hit small at the start of my third year I think. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I'm trying this, but not having a lot of success. I'll admit the product I use isn't great for getting sponsorship. I think I'm told "....will make getting sponsorship a little tough", but I do use a minimum of workers.
