  1. I'm sorry but when (Spoilers) The American soldier you play as gets caught up in a Nuclear explosion, and you have to *play* his last minutes on this earth, gasping for air, limbs not working, vision blurred, blood and fallen bretheren everywhere... That was pretty F'n shocking storytelling. And it was AWESOME. And I'd say it adds to the example of "shocks that are told well", as opposed to TNA's "shocks every week, and then we'll just forget to mention it next week. Tune in to *every* show to find out if we ever resolve this!".

Wolfe and Pope are never the focus, always just a background acessory to whatever Hogan and Flair want to do this week.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25170" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Okay, removing my TNA Rose Colored Glasses, The Nastys are giving Team 3D something to do thats not the TNA Tag Titles. They got stale ten years ago (and didn't Bubba say he was retiring a year or so ago?). I really don't see how it's important they stay on TV at all. There are plenty of better workers who could actually use the spotlight to make something of themselves.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25170" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>If you want to talk people that are a waste of TV time that Hogan brought in, why aren't y'all complaining about Scott Hall? I was a Hall mark, but he has NO business in the ring, and he takes up way too much time on TNA along with the rest of "The Band" storyline.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25170" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Not to mention Rob Terry, Global Champion, has all the skills of The Ultimate Warrior. He's a useless meathead.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25170" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>One last thing, it's much much easier to look at something and dump on it rather then try to see the big picture and the reasoning behind something. Unlike the rest of you, so quick to assume TNA has all ready lost their war with the WWE and that there is no hope for ratings climb, I'm waiting till at least DECEMBER before I say TNA has no hope on Mondays. If it's been one year and their still barely holding a 1.0 fine.</div></blockquote><p> It's been two and a hald months and they haven't held the 1.0 already. Here's the thing - all that the huge TNA supporters ever say is "they just need ___, give it time, you'll see". Okay so they've gone from Weekly PPVs to a weekly TV show and monthly PPVs. They've been extended to a 2 hour show "to better utilize the talent", and now they've moved to Mondays. They've had huge names like Kurt Angle, Sting and now Hogan.</p><p> </p><p> What is it *actually* going to take before they see success? They've had 7 years and all the breaks in the world. Taking him off TV, throwing Abyss and JEFF HARDY at AJ in the meantime... Abyss sucks and grates on me every time he's on TV. Hogan is boring and shouldn't be taking up so much goddamn time. And so what, it's a story that's been overtold elsewhere, so we're supposed to like it here?</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25170" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Eric Bischoff being an jerk boss, who you know is going to turn on Hogan eventually, torturing two company guys that only want to work Foley/Jarrett. And a non-wrestling Jarrett is even more annoying and pointless.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25170" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>The reason I don't watch WWE currently isn't because I hate it, it's because I'm bored with everything I've seen that I can see on it (admittedly if I could watch Smackdown, I'd be interested in seeing what they're doing with CM Punk).</div></blockquote><p> Good choice. Anything and everything Punk has done since the start of his feud with Jeff Hardy has been absolute gold and infinitely better than anything TNA has put on. He's the best worker in the business today as far as I'm concerned.</p>
  3. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="TommyDreamerFan" data-cite="TommyDreamerFan" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25170" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>And **** y'all, The Nasty's if used right can be an asset. These guys have the charisma, they can get the crowd to hate them, just keep their matches under ten minute brawls. Build them up and then let them work with guys like Shelly and Sabin a great tag team that no one outside You, me and the cactus in the room give a **** about. Plus, The Nasty's were WAY ahead of their time! These were the guys that were wearing all black and doing the counter-culture look with leatherjackets and chains before that kind of thing became huge in wrestling with the attitude era. </div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Please cut down your rampant swearing. Adam has warned about this in recent times.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> On topic, you have a lot of assumpitons. "IF" the Nasty's can be used right. I can't think of anyone being used right in TNA right now. Keeping their matches under 10 minutes would mean something if FAR more talented and over workers weren't having their matches kept under 5 minutes (or in the case of say, Sting vs RVD under one minute). </p><p> </p><p> And so they wore big black coats to try and disguise how grossly out of shape they are.</p><p> </p><p> 1: Who cares if it was ahead of their time back then - they're WAY past their time now!</p><p> 2. Bubba the Love Sponge also dresses the same. Doesn't make him any better suited to the company or product.</p><p> 3. Their look, even if it was still relevant, has nothing to do with their talent, which is shockingly close to zero.</p>
  4. Just so we're clear, you mean the absolute final? With Cooper going to the Black Lodge and all of that? I love that show, and that episode was such a trip. Not so much story-wise (Mulholland Dr had me reeling for weeks trying to piece it together) but just aesthetically how creepy everything was. I'd definitely much rather watch that every week than TNA in its current form.
  5. Nope, not at all. Christian was in TNA immediately. His last WWE appearance was the taping of the Nov 4 SD!, and he was on the TNA PPV held on Nov 15.
  6. Chris Harris became Braden Walker, didn't he? Man those were the days (literally, days. Like four shows maximum).
  7. Hold on. I don't think you can have it both ways. Either Goldberg was nothing special, OR he was buried. I don't think going toe to toe with Triple H, and suffering Evolution beatdowns is burial, unless somehow Goldberg is supposed to be much better than Triple H. I don't think beating Jericho, The Rock and Brock Lesnar can be considered burial. If anything, WWE continued to book him much better than he deserved for his talent.
  8. It's pretty easy to have a long storyline when you only have an "episode" once a month
  9. So he can play backseat to 80 minutes of Nasty Boys, 3D, Abyss, Hogan, Bischoff and The Band? Woohoo! Yeah, 10% Match Ratio is where it's at - RVD is sure to be better off there than in a place where they actually had him wrestling. Jim Ross is still suffering from his latest Bell's Palsy attack, otherwise he'd be on WWE TV right now. I *highly* doubt HBK or Undertaker would go to TNA. If they retire, it's because they're old and broken down and realise it's time to stop. I get the strong impression that they're both still going simply because WWE needs them and their star quality on the shows. Neither of them would have *any* incentive whatsoever to go to TNA. "Reduced schedule" means nothing because they already have that. Panda can pay Sting/Angle level money, I guarantee they wouldn't match what WWE is paying HBK or Taker. Less exposure to the public, crappier videogames (and again, far less revenue from the games - as JR recently mentioned there's a lot of money to be had in being in SvR)... So why exactly would either of them go from the absolute top of the business to a movie studio lot in Florida, where not even the fans in attendance pay to see them?
  10. Absolutely he is, and I'd definitely say it's not working great for him in TNA so far. Plus, maybe it's just me not being American, but I don't care AT ALL about his whole "Soldier's Medal/Tags" storyline. How about running a simple program where Anderson keeps mocking Angle for losing to AJ, and Angle plays up the whole "you talk big but I wrestle big" idea and fights him to shut his mouth? But then, this is TNA where 90% of the show is taken up by incredibly boring people and stories. Seriously - Bischoff, Hogan, 3D, Nasty Boys, Hall, Waltman, Jarrett and Abyss... Completely unwatchable for me right now.
  11. Bret Hart is about as effective as a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest! Cheech & Chong hosting seems like a perfect excuse to get CM Punk on our screens three nights this week, but they didn't capitalise on it...
  12. I can understand not getting Kennedy having not seen any of his high profile feuds. Speaking of that logic, man I hate Yoshi Tatsu. What's he supposed to be, some asian guy? His whole arm tassle thing is a joke, is he trying to be Ultimate Warrior?
  13. So I tuned in to SD last week and I'm baffled why the James/McCool feud is even still going on - what was the point of the seconds-long squash match and the whole "face divas all come down to humiliate the heels with cake" thing, if that wasn't the blowoff?
  14. Having seen the show now... Cheers for letting me know to just skip past your posts now. Previously you'd been admitting "he's not for me", but this, really? You never saw his matches against Undertaker, Batista or HBK? Or somehow you hate him more than anyone ever hated Triple H in 2002/3 or Cena in 2005/6.
  15. So next time they release Charlie Haas, it'll be because he's boring and doesn't know how to work? Because last I checked, he gave them plenty of reasons to keep him on TV with his impersonations gimmick, and his ring-work has always been excellent... Yet they dropped him out of focus and treat him like a ever-will. Yeah, Carlito was released years ago, and isn't being featured on NXT among some of the most popular wrestlers in the WWE.
  16. Please point to me in Mr T's post where it explains all that extra information. Of course I don't "get it" based on only knowing that he called two things - one which was remarkably obvious. BTW, if this guy's so good, why do Dirt Sheets run any other stories at all? Why not have him be the sole voice, since he's the only right one?
  17. Mr T, I don't think that "Mysterious" guy has any edge regarding the second thing you mentioned (in white). I called that from the Royal Rumble.
  18. Am I the only one who notices that AJ wears his wedding ring around his neck? It's kind of plain, public knowledge that he's married. I'm not going to blame the crowd for bringing it up, even if they are obnoxious in general.
  19. He's pointing out that you don't seem to understand that The Rock belonged to the WWF. His gimmick, all his catchphrases - products of the WWF. He was booked as a character in their promotion. WWF/E own the term "Smackdown", it doesn't matter who said it on their show.
  20. People have been predicting Esge's win since he got injured. It doesn't make it bad, it just makes sense and "predicting" something that makes sense just means that WWE are making some good decisions.
  21. In what world is ANOTHER World Title match between Cena and Triple H a good thing? Especially at Mania. I too have to wonder how Triple H will work his way into his 8th consecutive (barring injury) Wrestlemania World Title match though... Anywho, here's what I came in to say. I *loved* the story presented through the Royal Rumble. Last year the action was okay but the story was super boring with Legacy. This year was just great. CM Punk getting a bunch of exposure - I love that even though he's dropped down the card, he still gets a lot of mic time (hardly anyone in the company gets it, when you look at it). Very cool with him eliminating 5 people and pushing his cause. The Beth/Khali spot was beyond awesome. Just so well done, everyone playing their gimmicks well. I also like that we got to see Bourne pull out most of his moves, including the Air Bourne. I really thought Kane would do more than he did - he only had 4 eliminations to go to beat Austin's record! Oh well, it's down to three for next year The star of the show, HBK. Great story, really good build up. He got enough eliminations, enough close calls, took out Hunter just like he did to Diesel in 1996... Too bad Batista had to botch the finish, but it still had enough impact. Love him SCM'ing li'l Naitch. EDGE! As the clock was winding down, I was worried he might not show up, but did he ever I called the last three in order after Kofi came out. That's not a bad thing, because it makes the most sense from a story point of view. You have to have Jericho just before Edge for the revenge, and then Batista to make people think a Dominant #30 could do it again. The entrance times of Triple H, HBK and Cena were also all very much set up. I called each of them. "CM Punk saying he's better than everyone? I bet Triple H would have somehting to say to that". "Triple H fighting with everyone in the ring? Here comes HBK". "DX alone in the ring? Must be time to bring in Cena". All very enjoyable, apart from Cena's embarassingly bad wrestling, he just never looks credible doing his signature moves.
  22. Taker and Cena get gimmicks that make them out to not be as strong as their pushes. "How can Cena win this time?" turns out, pretty much the same way he won EVERY time they said that. Taker's never touted as "the" man to eliminate. I don't think there's ever been a time when people ganged up on him in the way they do to Big Show, Khali, etc.
  23. The Green background is a grand improvement, IMO!
  24. Looking good! Only thing I would suggest is that maybe the text is a little small on some of them for the font and colour schemes used. Beachfront Breakdown, Champion Carnival, and Early Christmas Bash stick out to me in this regard.
