  1. I think thats where I'm at with it. Tim's not going to be able to run people over and out run people the way he did in college. I would agree that Cassel did well in Josh's system but remember the year before that Brady went undefeated and threw what 52 touch down passes? So the fact that Matt came in and did a good job is evidence that that o line and wr corps were unbelievably great as well as Josh having a good system in place. I'm guessing Tim sits this year though right? He's holding a clipboard and getting to know that offense of Josh's because I don't think he's ready to take a team that is on the verge of playoffs and lead them there with his arm. Take a seat, learn the offense, work on your passing and next year we'll see.
  2. I'm sorry I don't see Tebow as being the "warner" in the Arizona holy trinity or in the STL holy trinity of Warner, Bruce and Holt. The WR's maybe but Tebow being a super accurate, big game, League MVP, Superbowl QB in the NFL I just don't see that. We could go back and forth all day I don't see it and I see Tim being a very nice guy but a big time bust. Others I'm sure will see it differently and as they say thats why they play the game. Either way if he winds up being great I hope nay sayers can say "yup we were wrong" and if he falls on his face I hope the Tebowites can say "yeah he wasn't that great" although if past experainces are any indication guys like Tebow get a ton of passes "he wasn't in the right system, he wasn't brought in the right way, he wasn't surrounded by the right guys, he's young, etc". Either way Tim's a nice guy he seems to be living his life the right way and with so many guys in the NFL coming into the light as less than honorable people atleast a seemingly good kid got rewarded for being the role model thats talked about so often in pro sports. EDIT: Bradford's O Line really isn't that bad, I can't be bothered to pull up their sacks allowed last season but I'm fairly certain it was the lowest in the organization in a few years, along with Jackson running through huge holes opened up to rack up nearly 1500 yards. I agree thought Josh came in and has basically blown that team up which is fine but if he doesn't replace the franchise QB just drafted three years ago and the best WR on the team in a while with some very quality people and he doesn't get that team turned around he won't last long and he'll be right back in New Englad as an O Coordinator. Bellechick's coaching tree has not panned out well so far with Charlie, Romeo and Josh all achieving unremarkablness so far.
  3. Remi they took a WR in the first round just like I said they should. Me and McDaniels are tight like that
  4. Tebow's "leadership" works on the college but already at the pro level he's tried to "lead a prayer" and do other "intangible, leadership" like things and he got told to flat out shut the F up. I like Tim but he's not a starting QB in the NFL. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right there is no way to tell until he gets on the field. I'd imagine it will be one of those things that goes on forever. Those of us who aren't fans of him will say "well he got selected by a good team and anybody can win with that team" and those people that like him will always say "he's getting a raw deal he can't win with those guys he needs talent". Time will tell but for my money I think he'd make a good HB or TE. Special teams he's the kind of guy that could send a team down the feel just barrelling into the opponent.
  5. I've been a fan of Kozlov from the very start. Again it just comes down to him not being booked correctly.
  6. If the WWE fighting again depends on TNA striking hot with a long term successful angle then Vince can put the gloves down it'll be a while before he's going to need them.
  7. I know they don't NEED a WR in the first round but they need a WR period. Losing Marshal was a huge blow. You can't just take a WR in the third or fourth round and hope he pans out. Brady was taken in the 7th round I believe but none the less. I agree that the first round is typically not a WR round my point was mostly that they need dominating, game changing WR to replace Marshall. I like Orton and always have, Neck Beard FTW
  8. So Denver trading Cutler wasn't that big of a deal IMO he didn't do squat in Chicago and Orton showed he was a capable replacement. However I think Marshall is a big loss and they need to go with a WR in the first round to make up for it.
  9. Our o line is pretty good not great. Jason Brown at Center he's proven he can do well in that position as well as move around to other OL positions. Jason Smith at RT should get better I'm hoping we move him back to his natural LT position since Alex Barron can't play worth a hell anyway more false starts than any other OL on the team by far. Jacob Bell and John Greco. Not a great line but good enough for Jackson to pile up nearly 1500 yards last season. I know some of that is Jackson and some of that is we couldn't throw the ball so all we could do is run but none the less the O line is good. I'm more concerned with Sam coming from the spread offense as opposed to Clausen who with big Chuck ran a pro style offense. None the less if Avery can combine some hands with that blinding speed it'd be nice because as it stands we got nobody for Sam to throw to.
  10. WOOOOOOOOO Big OU fan and big Rams fan, plus I'm a mark for QB's makes this the best pick ever. In 07 I believe it was I wanted the Rams to pick Brady Quinn with their pick, they decided on Tye Hill instead which is just as bad if not worse but I feel good about this pick.
  11. I'd argue any job that pays your bills is paying you enough to swallow you're pride. I don't see it as a pride issue as much as its a "this is a dumb rule so I won't follow it" issue. Owning my own company you see it all the time. People pick and choose what rules to follow. If you give them an hour lunch their ok with that, if you give them paid vacation their ok with that, paid sick days, company picnic, year raises, their ok with all those policies its those darn pesky things you ask in return such as their respect of the company policy, their focus on their job while at work, their ability to follow MY directions no matter how scattered or nonsensical they may seem or even be for that matter. Scrubbing toilets or being a high powered CEO executive we all get paid to do a job and operate within that jobs guidlines while at work. I never got the "they don't pay me enough to blah blah blah". Its one thing if you're an office worker for an over the road truck driving company and they ask you to take a week long trip driving a truck across the country. Then its not a "they don't pay me enough" its a "thats not in my job description". My theory is if you wake up, you go to work and you expect to get paid for the work you're doing then you are being paid enough. If you weren't being paid enough to do one part of the job then you're not getting paid enough to do any part of the job. Why show up and work if that work is below your own self value. I know its cliche but anybody thats been out in the job market knows that jobs are hanging from trees ready to be snatched up. Ten years ago no matter what field you were in you could virtually walk out and find a job in no time. Times are different these days everybody from executives, to minimum wage workers to teachers are being "relieved of their duties". Pride is one of those fun words. People say that word like they were it like a badge of honor, "My pride". As it should be, honorable people should be proud of their self pride. The truth is though that you can't have that much "pride" if you're willing to knowing break a harmless company policy for your own personal and private gain. How can you have pride in yourself if your knowingly breaking the rules for your own selfish purposes? Thats one of those neat words people throw around when their trying to rally people behind their cause. They have pride but their willing to do something wrong in order to "prove" how much pride they have. If I went to military school and they made me scrub toilets and I swore that I'd never do that again because I have too much pride thats fine. However if I then take a job where I know I have to scrub toilets for money and yet I still take that job and then refuse to scrub the toilets because I have too much "pride" when thats not you being a proud man thats just you throwing around whatever words you can find so you don't have to say "I just want to do whatever I want here and still get paid".
  12. They already have that. The only two teams you know are going to do good year in and year out are the Sox and the Yanks these teams are going to rock 150 mil salaries, their going to take their pick of the free agency so if your betting on a world series win these two have got to be in the top five every year. I'm not saying their the only good teams but their the only two teams I know year in and year out for the last ten years are in contention of a world series not just the playoffs. The Mets, the Cards, the Angels, even the Dodgers, Cubs, Rays, Tigers, Whitesox, Twins, A's their all really good teams and have been in the playoffs more years than not in the last decade but time has shown their all able to have that dirty word the Yanks don't have to worry about the dreaded "rebuilding" year. The dreaded "try out the rookies from the minors and see who sticks" year. Realigning the divisions would just make it so good teams like the A's, Angels, Tigers, Twins, Rays that got a shot at the playoffs are snuffed out and you got teams that shouldn't be there squeaking in. I think as it stands every division has two teams that are more than capable of winning their division why screw with that.
  13. the only thing I see Batista having that Terry doesn't have is a better hair cut, he's from the states, and he's got some nice tats. With some work Terry could look like a star, what really sets him back is he doesn't have a character yet. He reminds of those really nice guys that were real big in school but couldn't hurt a fly. If they gave him a haircut, new tights, some cool music and had him squash X division jobbers in four minute matches he'd get over. Do this for a while working with him and hoping his in ring work can atleast be safe. After a few months of doing this evaluate where you're at take the next step and put a title on him or have somebody else just utterly destroy him and move on. Terry isn't impossible to get over but "nice guy who hangs out with Hogans Superpower Squad and feuds with Orlando Jordon while doing some strange pose where he grabs the ropes and makes a face like he's taking a dump is not the way to do it. Start slow with the guy, work on his safety, his in ring skill and go from there. He has a good look big and muscular or not TNA doesn't have anybody with near his body. Say what you will about the guy but there is still a place for big, over muscled stars, there always has been and there always will be. Well built guys get pushes and theres a reason for that. Don't under estimate the squash match Goldberg built a career on it, and if people remember Wrath did the same thing. Heck they could have done Wrath vs. Goldberg in a streak vs. streak match at Starrcade he was getting over that much. Even recently with Big Daddy V they built that guy over night by having him destroy poor unfortunate souls. Have Orlando beat Rob for the title, why not? It clearly means nothing to them anyway if their letting someone as green as Rob hold it. Have Orlando beat it, Rob freaks out "goes away for a while" he comes back new haircut, music, tights, and just starts crushing people have him DESTROY Orlando to get his title back and you might have a star on your hands. Its not like the guy is Colin Delaney he can be a star if handled properly and patiently.
  14. I doubt it Coach Spags has preached over and over again that he doesn't want to take players with a history of problems. I know talent overrides this but with our ownership problems, our horrible record, our virtually still new front office and head coach I just don't think bringing in this kind of attention is a good idea. Plus he's suspended for 4-6 games not too mention who knows where Ben's head is at right now would he even care or try? I like Ben and I agree the Rams could move a second round pick for him but I'd rather they not but I agree its something that would be a good situation I just hope it doesn't happen.
  15. I agree Rob is a big, muscular guy that could hurt someone and has little wrestling skill. Please remember in 2002 Batista was that way as well.
  16. Hyde I like ya buddy but I think you're waaaaaaaay off base here. The whole "well it never happened so we'll never know" theory is kinda bunk. Barry Horowitz never got a shot to run in Hogan's shoes so we don't know if he would have drawn better or not....yeah right. The fact is pro wrestling has proven time and time again no matter what you "want" for someone no matter what "vision" the bookers have the cream will eventually rise to the top. Austin wasn't supposed to be a good guy, The Rock wasn't supposed to be a bad guy, HHH wasn't supposed to be a main eventer. When great things happen the fans pick up on it and raise their voice until Vince or whoever else has no choice but to recognize that. I never once remember Richter being anything more than an afterthought. Trish, Lita, Chyna, Stephanie McMahon, even Melina, Mickie James and Beth Phoniex are promoted better and viewed better than Wendi was. Trish is the most popular womans wrestler since Moolah in her prime and even she didn't draw near what the top guys in the business drew. The Knockouts are a top ratings draw for TNA that being said what Hilton was saying is the numbers are the same if its Hamada and Kong or if its Lacey and Angelina Love. Women's wrestling is featured more prominatley today than it ever has been in the history of this business. TNA and the WWE both have active womens divisions. In face teh WWE has TWO womens divisions. ROH might as well have a womens division with Shimmer there are more female wrestlers in the spotlight today than ever in history. All of that being said not one of these women has drawn like The Rock, or Austin, or anyone else. Their great, I don't mind watching them and I've enjoyed me some Victoria vs. Trish feuds but to say "they have never been given teh chance so we'll never know" argument is just a cop out. Trish was on television every week, Chyna actually competed against the males and won the second most important championship they had at the time. They have had several women featured very heavily on television. Not one of them broke out. Its not that they couldn't or that they weren't skilled enough its that the fans didn't come there for that they weren't interested enough to let them break out. They came to see two thin, tan girls with large breasts wrestle each other and thats what they got. Pro Wrestling at its core is violent and I just don't think guys find it appealing to have two girls scraping each others faces against a cage.
  17. I liked last night but I fear TNA is still TNA. Pope competed for the World Title last night and got not a single mention on television. Where were Hall and Nash and Young? Nash basically jobbed Young out at the pay per view. After being betrayed and beaten up as well as mocked for weeks and what revenge did Young get? Being beaten clean in the middle of the ring. As said before you could have RVD vs. Hardy this week, next week promote AJ vs. RVD first ever meeting, then book the rematch for the pay per view. Instead they pulled a Goldberg winning the championship, the threw a spike in ppv buyrates and even drawing out television ratings possibly by blowing their load in one night. I get what they were trying to do but its not like their an RVD vs. AJ television match away from winning the ratings war. Its a marathon at this point and its not going to matter if they delay a match for a week and give it proper hype and build. I like that their pushing Rob Terry but why? The guy is big and muscular and thats it. I also hate how Desmond Wolfe is an after thought whipping boy for Flairs group. I don't like the confetti thing unless one its a huge underdog victory ala Shawn Michaels first title win at Wrestlemania 12, or some huge triumph over evil over a long period of time ala Sting at Starrcade. They treated this like Flair's group was the nWo and they terroized everyone. 90 percent of the guys out there had never been in contact with Flair's group and the over the top celebration was a bit silly. RVD as champion isn't bad but they had a chance to put the title on a "home grown" main eventer with Pope if they were taking the title off of A.J. Instead once again they show they'd rather pick up other companies upper mid carders and hand them championships rather than push the guys that can only be associated with TNA. If Pope wins the title he's known more as the Pope with TNA than he ever was Elijah Burke. If RVD wins the title he's remembered for ECW and the WWE not TNA. What it tells me is that Pope wasn't good enough, TNA guys like Daniels and Joe weren't good enough but RVD was. I think Pope has the potential to make more money for TNA than RVD. RVD is a good worker but what is his drawing power? With six months of build up I think the Pope could have been red hot drawing in a demographic that Vince doesn't draw as well. I liked the show I did but I still don't like the logic and I really want this stupid Flair vs. Hogan storyline to end. As well as some sort of explaination why Sting turned.
  18. People that don't use their turn signals when turning. Seriously its too hard to move a finger down to the turn signal switch. For that matter people who can't be bothered to use "to" "too" and "two" in their correct forms. Nothing bothers me more than reading "I like doing that to". People who refused to get up to speed when driving onto the "on ramp" to get to the interstate. Cars are going 70 and the guy in front of me is going 30 as we approach the interstate the purpose of the on ramp is to get up to the speed of the incoming traffic instead your left for dead going a good forty mph slower than everyone on the interstate. People who claim outrageous or dumb things not to brab but to draw sympahty for attention.
  19. Went to the show and Kurt Angle got the biggest reaction of the entire show I don't know if that came across on television but Angle was just on and fed off the crowd. There wasn't much "Heat" for the title match just your everyday "lets go AJ" "Pope is Pimpin" chants. The whole show people wanted to see Flair the "we want Flair" chants were in abundance throughout the night. Although the ending came across stupid for a pay per view this is what the live crowd wanted to see Hogan coming out and beating down Flair with Flair bleeding everywhere chanting "whoo". This would have been ideal for a house show to apease the live crowd but not for the pay per view. Nobody cared about Abyss, RVD was popular, the crowd went NUTS for Hardy period. The way the arena was set up is you had seats on three sides of the arena. Of the three sides only the side opposite the ramp was completely filled. On both of the other sides they were filled about halfway across. The arena was roughly half full it was set up to seat about 5,000 and maybe dragged 3,000 in there. Fun show, amazing to see Angle with that moonsault.
  20. At Lockdown tonight from what I've read they got 3,000 paid or close to it like 2700. I'm hoping that something fun happens, blood, cool spot, something although Pope is the most over face in the company right now he's not winning tonight.
  21. I disagree I love the Million dollar belt a lot better than their current championship thats for sure.
  22. Cards just played a full twenty innings at Bush a seven plus hour game. We lost 20-1 but to be fair we had third basemen pitching the last three innings of the game and if we got that call at 2nd with Luddy being safe we woulda won it in the 19th either way certainly goes againt trying to cut down on the time it takes to play the game when you have a seven hour game
  23. I think what he's saying is that someone asked you what a breakout year would be. You then put up those numbers as your example of a break out year. When someone reminded you he only had 12 games with a running minded football team to do it with you then said that that was an example. However when asked for an example of a break out year those are the numbers you gave. Saying that to you that would be a breakout year. Thats double talk saying "a break out year to me is this" and then when someone says how crazy those numbers are you say "well I said a breakout year that was just an example" an example of a breakout year. You say "he'll have a break out year" then when asked what a breakout year is you put those numbers up then when someone said how highly unlikely it is he'll come close to those numbers you then turned around and said "that was an example". So why use it as an example if you don't believe in those numbers? Honestly I don't see Rex throwing the ball up that many times. Everyone is overhyping this team. They barely made it into the playoffs and then got hot. The Phins just got better, New England is always there. Rex is all show to me, one minute he's got swag, the next minute he's crying because his team can't win. Everyone is putting them in the playoffs when they got a tough tough AFC to get through not to mention a tough East to get through. You're saying he'll have a breakout year but then even you're saying he won't have the numbers you listed for consideration of a break out year.
  24. I think this is the best work Batista has done, character, mic and in ring wise in his career so I gotta disagree there.
