  5. Thanksgiving Thunder 2019. It's almost here. Steel Cage Match for the USPW World Title Rich Money (Champion) vs. Steve Frehley Money used the guaranteed title shot he earned by surviving last year's Great American Grudge Match to surprise Frehley at Born In The USA, "cashing in" after he and Money Inc. beat down Frehley after his successful defense against Greg Gauge. The cage should keep the rest of the stable at bay. Should. Longtime rivals Bach and Shaffer were named co-captains of the American team. On the National side, GM Dawn Gemmell has vowed not to lose again, but she's assembled some highly combustible elements -- Wolf and Scythe and Thompson and Henry have been at each other's throats for months. USPW Women's Title Alicia Strong (Champion) vs. Killer Kass It feels like they've been feuding all year, mostly because they have been, if only tangentially at times. Kass keeps dominating but the title's eluded her several times. Just the names change. USPW Television Title Marshall Dillon (Champion) vs. Dusty Ducont We needed another match and Dillon just won the title.
  6. I always say I'm gonna give Japan a shot, but I never actually do it. Maybe this time! Or maybe Australia. I think I'd also like to try a hardcore promotion, as the changes to match risk should make them less frustrating to play.
  7. Update! So. This last bit had pretty much already happened and was one of the reasons his partner shoot quit. A lot of the stuff my guy's talking about is a combination of open secrets, "inside baseball" backstage stuff (locker room is a trash fire), and general grievances related to the corporate powers-that-be. Though, in true heel fashion, he won't always be blaming the right people. This initially set me looking to Catholic saints for name inspiration, but nothing really fit that I liked. Shifting gears to false prophets didn't yield any fruit, either, mostly because so few are named. So then I came back to a word I now see you also used... "exile." Google led me to, among others, the poet Dante (of "The Divine Comedy" fame.) He was exiled from Florence, Italy in 1302 when his political faction, the pro-papacy Guelphs, split, and he ended up on the opposite side of the city's rulers. This jumped out at me right away and I held on to it. And I believe I now have Dante Solo. Thanks, guys!
  8. I think #3 is the best option here, as it makes the most sense. Have Monsoon tell Hogan "Look, it's kind of your fault we even have to do this," and not put him in the tournament. I do like #4, but there are a lot of moving parts. I'd like #2 more if Dusty won and you built to a rematch, but I'm not sure Hogan would allow it.
  9. <p>The situation:</p><p> </p><p> The character I need a new name for was part of a babyface comedy tag team until his partner quit. I then sent him on a two-month vacation as I had nothing for him to do immediately and wanted him off TV because I was planning on making some dramatic changes.</p><p> </p><p> He's ready to come back as an angry loner (likely a heel, especially down the line) who sees himself as an exiled truth-teller. Ideally, I'd like a name that plays off of some aspect of this new character, as I don't want to give him a generic name and I don't want any references to his past (which is why I'm not naming him here.)</p>

  14. An important show. Matt Hocking becomes the last man in the World's Finest tournament by virtue of winning the battle royal, while Brent Hill prevented Bryan Vessey from taking his spot. The field now looks like this. I think Group A's a little tougher, but not too much so. It will be the beginning of the end for Vessey, as Davis Wayne Newton and Bart Biggins are the only two members of the New School of Tradition in the tournament. He will soon be kicked out, then either jobbed out or benched until his contract expires. Besides all of his other issues, he's also the only worker on the roster on time decline. (Hill, two years older at 49, is NOT on time decline.) Rudy wins the All Action belt here so he can have a run, as a new owner goal means I can't re-sign him when his contract is up next year. The tag title switch is going to end up turning Roderick Remus face. (It's complicated.) Last year Champion's reign ended at the next PPV. Will history repeat itself?

  23. So I'm trying something new. TCW World's Finest is a 12-man G1 Climax-type round-robin tournament, with the winner being crowned at a pay-per-view and getting a future TCW World Heavyweight Title shot. But I'm not sure when. I'm doing this now to give the second half of the year something for TCW, since all of its "big" shows are in the first half. My original idea was to hold the finals at Malice in Wonderland in January and have the title shot be for Total Mayhem in May, but is that too long to wait? I also considered involving The War To Settle The Score somehow, but I'm stumped. This will also have a slight effect on when the tournament starts. (I am currently in August, so utilizing my B-show, I have enough shows to get there.)
