  1. That does seem about right. I like to have these things confirmed for me sometimes, I guess. Many thanks for the response.
  2. I'd hate to wander back in, looking for more help again so soon after my last visit, especially with the same sort of dilemma, (and especially when mine was the last post in the thread), but... I seem to be having that same problem again. This one should be the last time, I think. I have a worker... a former worker, that is. Over 70 and out of the business. He was a big star in my wrestling world, way back in the 1970s and into the 80s, and was pretty highly regarded in Japan as well. I was very much tempted to make him 'well known', along the lines of Micky Starr - thing is, this guy didn't have the time working as a color commentator for a promotion like USPW to help keep him over after he retired. He was, however, known for being a booker/promoter though, (his was one of the last standing regional territories before the WWE of my world brought an end to that), and he's also the head of one of those 'famous families' that seem to pop up from time to time in wrestling, like the Harts or the Von Erichs. Just need some idea about what range his popularity should be in at this stage of the game, is all. I was thinking recognizable-well known in the US? Perhaps recognizable or even regional star in Canada or Japan? Pretty sure I've got most of my stuff sorted out at this point, just had this one little thing giving me trouble.
  3. I remember that. It was Brian Kendrick, circa 2002? 2003, maybe? Somewhere in there. Whenever he first joined. I remember he wrestled on Velocity as The Jet, and there were a few others that escape me at the moment. It kind of ended when he officially joined the roster, I think.
  4. I'd recommend watching Raw on Hulu Plus, if you can. I'm not sure what they take out, but for some reason, it seems a lot more watchable there. Actually felt like a more organic wrestling show to me there. Whenever I watch Raw regular-style, on TV, those 3 hours feel like a REALLY long time.
  5. I very much enjoyed the John Cena - Seth Rollins match, and was literally dancing at the finish, (and the fact that... certain people in my circle... were ALL OF A SUDDEN ridiculously pro-Sheamus and hoping to see the most brutal Brogue Kick in the recorded history of man only added to the festivities). Honestly, after that match I like Seth Rollins more than I ever have before, (and I liked him to begin with). Can't say the rest of the show did all that much for me, but it wasn't all that bad either. The New Day is starting to grow on me, and I did kinda groove with them when they won their match, so there is that. Not a big fan of the Undertaker - Lesnar match though, almost let that turn me against the show as a whole. I didn't though. Was really hoping for a good Lesnar win there. Seeing Bo Dallas take his little trip to Suplex City was a lot of fun too. Loved NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, nothing but good things to say about that show. Very much enjoyed the Raw also, although I called Sting being in the box instead of a statue. I also called the reason why Jon Stewart did what he did, and my accuracy there impressed my friends and family more than I would have thought. After what Stewart had said to Paul Heyman at Summerslam though, it seemed kind of obvious to me. All in all, a pretty good weekend of wrestling.
  6. That's about what I was thinking actually. About 55 or so, somewhere in there. Many thanks for the answer, it's much appreciated.
  7. I have a question that's kind of been driving me crazy today, (it was a short trip though). About where should I set the overness for a guy who's the lead announcer for a fairly popular, high cult level promotion, and has been for nearly a decade? He's in his early 30s, and is comparable to guys like Joey Styles or Mitch Naess, if that helps any. Seems like he should be fairly recognizable, as the voice of a company that size, but I figured I'd ask to be sure. I always have a little trouble with the non-wrestling folk.
  8. 1990 - Terry Funk - a brutal match that's highly regarded even today, and has found its way onto multiple DVD. 1991 - Flyin' Brian Pillman - Undertaker played the heel here, and the match went a long way torward making Pillman one of the breakout stars of the 90s. 2nd brick in the streak though. 1992 - Jake Roberts - Decent match, building off a solid (and pretty darn creepy storyline) that started at Halloween Havoc. Some say the match was tarnished by the DQ finish, (surely if WCW had realized how important the streak would become, they'd have booked him stronger here. Still, third notch on the belt. 1993 - Big Van Vader - a true experiment in wrestling brutality that more than made up for the DQ finish from a year earlier/ Vader would go down as one of Taker's most dangerous opponents, and this match is still a good watch. 4-0. 1994 - Ric Flair - 1994 won't go down as WCW's finest year, but that 4 Horsemen Vs. The Deadman storyline was a definite highlight. After a very high quality match against Arn Anderson at Havoc, one might say history was made against the Nature Boy this night. 5-0. 1995 - Randy Savage - This was unique. Savage brought out the 'madness' in the Deadman like never before, and this match was really something special. Savage played the hero here, but just wasn't quite able to get it done. It was WILD though. It was also about this time that folks behind the scenes in WCW realized Taker had a streak going, and really started to run with it. 1996 - Hollywood Hogan - The nWo vs. The Deadman. TONS of interference in this one, and a wild and crazy crowd made it memorable, chokeslams and tombstones abound. The fact that a shocking return, (and perhaps even more shocking turn) allowed Hogan to take back the title at Uncensored shouldn't take anything away from this battle's moment in the sun. 1997 - Roddy Piper -1997's edition of Starrcade was built mainly around Sting's year-long build to his battle with Hollywood Hogan, which in turn would lead to the downfall of the nWo, but the Undertaker's battle with fellow good guy Roddy Piper was anything on Earth but secondary that night. If anything, Piper brought back the Deadman of old... and after the way Hogan had taken the title from him months ago, we weren't sure we'd ever see that again. Leave it to Piper to whip him back into shape. 1998 - Sting - The dream match that everyone wanted to see. Like the Piper match from a year before, it was face vs. face, but the story was a good one, and the match was.... in the eyes of many... a classic. Who would've thought anyone could kick out of a tombstone? 1999 - Goldberg - If ever there was a match built on hype, this was it. The Streak Vs. The Streak. It was WCW's hottest talking point for quite some time, and to be fair, it lived up to the hype. 2000 - Cactus Jack - Starrcade 2000 was highlighted by the rise of WCW's heir apparent, the 1996 Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle, who finally won the World title in a legendary three way dance against Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit, but it was Cactus Jack's battle with the Taker that stole the show. The Hardcore Legend had wanted to test his skills against The Deadman for years, and he finally got his chance. And so on.... WCW fared much better in the Monday Night War in this particular universe...
  9. I'll admit I wouldn't have objected to an F5 or 47, but... he was left in a heap out there under the table. I took what I could get.
  10. For my part, I think at least half my own personal being 'mad' at JBL for talking smack about WCW was me in 'playing along' mode, as my 'anger' was pretty much assuaged when Brock ... turned the table... on him. I do wish WWE would be more respectful to WCW though, that is the promotion I grew up with after all. I didn't really get into WWE till the New Generation, (I loved the New Generation). I had a rough time making it through that one myself, but then I always have been tenderhearted.
  11. I wasn't yelling, but I did wonder that. It's not like it's the first time the tables ever been flipped over, usually they make it right pretty quick. I did like Brock's freak out though. Yeah, JBL buried under a table! Bury WCW now, my dude!
  12. I'm very glad to see someone else posting about this, as I felt the exact same way. They NEVER miss a chance to take potshots at WCW. Sadly, I kinda did let it ruin the show for me - as much as I like Rollins, (and he is one of my favorites), and as much as I'd hate to admit it, (and I do hate to admit it), after the Royal Rumble fiasco, what Lesnar was doing to Reigns was... pretty much... exactly what I was hoping to see. I found myself hoping for a clean Lesnar win, and... I'd be lying if I said there wasn't some part of me that was screaming, "If they were gonna make it a three way anyway, why oh why couldn't it have been D-Bry?" So... there is that. I also found myself rooting for Rusev in his match with Cena, which I wasn't expecting. I was always lukewarm to Rusev, but something about this match kinda made me a fan. I've managed to get over most of my quabbles, FTR. It was a pretty good show.
  13. I didn't see that, but it's good to hear about. For some reason, these past couple of days, I've just had this... feeling... that Brock was gonna win at 'Mania. I'm not rooting either way, at the moment, just had that feeling is all. If this information is true, it might make it that much more likely. We'll see.
  14. I'd recommend watching some of the WWE Old Schools as well. They're basically house shows that were televised on the MSG network back in the day, and were rarely seen by the public at large, (far as I know). There's one from 1991 that features what may have actually been the first Hogan-Flair WWE match. They're usually pretty high quality shows. I keep hoping they'll upload that special, Internet-only Friday Nitro WCW did once upon a time, (back when watching wrestling on the internet was new). I've wanted to see that show for years, but so far I haven't ever had the chance.
  15. <p>I know it's not WWE-related in the purest sense of the word, but... my Roku arrived today! It's been successfully installed, successfully set up, and soon... very soon... the WWE Network will be mine! Mine! ALL MINE!!!!</p><p> </p><p> Which, of course, only naturally means that any residual negativity I had regarding the Royal Rumble has officially been forgiven, and I am officially over RumbleGate. Technically, I already was anyway, have been for a while, but still...</p><p> </p><p> It's my moment, so... yeah.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Many thanks, very much appreciated!!!</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  17. Could I possibly get this Jack Avatar.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/dvdWarrior/Pics/JackAvatar_dse81.jpg .. in a shirt of some kind, and possibly some cool shades as well. I have a feeling his pose might make him a little harder than usual, (he seems slightly turned a little), so if it'd be too much of a hassle, it's all right, (i have no idea about such things myself). Just figured I'd check and see about it. I use him as my User Character, Johnny Heroic, and was just looking to have a couple of extra options if possible.
  18. I should have copied and pasted it myself, but i was in a hurry. I see I got the name of the thing wrong too. Nonetheless, there it is.
  19. If none of you fine folks have seen Mick Foley's most recent, (or one of his most recent, he may have made another since), Facebook posts, it's definitely worth a look. It's called 'Rumble Rules' and it's very interesting, to say the least.
  20. I heard some people say it was trending all night, and I've heard other people say they never saw it all, so I dunno. I almost never know what's trending unless there's a friendly neighborhood WWE commentator on hand to tell me, so I never saw it myself. It does have a Facebook page though.... with 354 likes, (none of which came from me). Someone in the comments described the page as a 'useless waste of time'. So there is that.
  21. Well, I watched the Rumble on Raw last night, and... the less said about that the better. Not a pleasant experience for the dvdWarrior, I tell you what. Firstly, I have no problems with Roman winning. I like him. I was a big fan when he was with The Shield, and he was well on his way to becoming one of my favorites... until those Roman and The Beanstalk and Sufferin' Succatash promos laid the proverbial smackdown on his coolness. Thing that hurt the Rumble for me was A) Daniel Bryan being eliminated so early, (and with an elimination you'd typically see for a midcarder to boot); B) Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, and Bray Wyatt each being dumped like a sack of taters; and C) Damien Sandow lasting what felt like about 28 seconds. Think that was everything. I was perfectly fine with Roman winning, and I would have been perfectly fine with Bryan, Ambrose, Ziggler, or Wyatt NOT winning... Just the way it went down felt almost like... kind of an attack on part of the audience in a way. Made the whole thing a pretty negative experience all around. Definitely wouldn't cancel WWE Network though. Just think of that $9.99 a month as your 'NXT Tax', as I heard a guy on YouTube say. For me, it'd be an NXT and Lots Of Classic Wrestling Tax, but same difference. Too much good stuff to give up on account of one off night.
  22. I would have bet the farm on Daniel Bryan winning. I mean, I know all signs pointed to Reigns winning, but I figured that ... well, ever since 'suffering succatash'.... that Reigns' momentum was on the downslide. I know his overall coolness took a definite hit for me. With Daniel Bryan's big return from injury and his popularity and all.... He just really... REALLY... seemed like the right guy to win it for me. I did kind of enjoy the whole #cancelWWEnetwork thing as a protest, (no, I did not participate in it), but I really hope the Network doesn't take too big of a hit. I can take 2015 or leave it, but I gots to be able to watch my 80s and 90s.
  23. I missed Raw last Monday night, but I did get to see the replay just now on another channel called UHD. Really, really liked the segment where The Ascension confronted the nWo. First time in a long time I've marked out over something on a modern day wrestling show. Good stuff.
  24. I'm looking for an alt of this Sam Strong re-render.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/dvdWarrior/Pics/thSamStrong3.jpg The alt has him wearing a jacket or something, like maybe a blue jean jacket, something along those lines. It already exists, I know I used to have it, just can't seem to find it anywhere now. Does anyone have that one around, or at least know where I could find it?
  25. This mod looks pretty incredible... almost exactly the sort of real world mod I've been hoping for, honestly. Sadly, I won't be able to mess around with it myself, till after the first of the year when I get a new computer, but the set-up is almost picture perfect for something I've really been hoping to do with TEW for a LONG time now. Oh, and thanks for mentioning that wrestling data website as well. I never even knew such a place existed, and now it's one of my favorite sites. I've been planning out my own TEW database forever and a day, and a site like that will certainly come in handy.
