  1. Easiest way I've found to differentiate: On-screen = this was filmed especially for this segment, the worker gets paid for showing up to film it even if he does nothing else. Whether it's pre-taped or not, if he specifically showed up to film something, even if he's only doing a voice-over, he's on-screen. Off-screen = the worker doesn't get paid for that segment if he's not otherwise booked on the show. It's either footage edited together from other things, or he's not actually on the show (like being mentioned in someone else's promo). Off-screen would be hype videos, highlight reels, being mentioned in a promo you don't appear in, any footage you've already recorded being shown again ("Last week on Raw!", "Earlier tonight!"). Of course, if you want him to be rated on anything other than Overness, the decision is made for you (he has to be on screen).
  2. That was a few patches ago, yes. You can only launch internet broadcasters because that basically mirrors real life.
  3. Putting it in 'Negotiate' or on the 'Contracts' screen would've been too straightforward.
  4. When you say "won't score well no matter what", what do you mean exactly? If they have super low popularity, entertainment skills, star quality, sex appeal AND menace, then you should probably rate them on overness, just because with low skills in everything else, that's likely to give them the best rating. If you want to be extremely gamey, you could rate them on Fighting or Selling (unless their brawling/puro/hardcore AND selling are also all really low... although at this point I'd start to question why you hired him ). If it's a storyline you're worried about advancing, then off-screen (or on screen but not rated) isn't a problem, the storyline will still advance. I'm not sure if a worker needs to actually be rated on something in order to gain anything from an angle, to be honest. I always assumed they did, but "not rated" might be fine.
  5. This, to me, is the main point. Exploits that can be 'abused' without really knowing they're exploits, are IMO bugs. For instance, the constant schedule issue. If you're running a constant schedule and have four annual events per month, you might not consider it an exploit. You might just assume you're doing really well and gaining huge amounts of pop and money. It's not the player's fault in that situation, it's the game's fault. So it should definitely be fixed. Exploits, IMO, are things like constantly using Sam Keith in MAW angles to artificially increase storyline heat. Or constantly spamming guys like John Cena/The Undertaker on WWE shows to get artificially inflated ratings. There's nothing "wrong" with doing that, it's not a problem that needs to be fixed. But if you're using an 'exploit' that isn't supposed to be in the game (like running four "annual" events per month and enjoying much more pop gain and income than someone running four weekly events per month), that is a problem that shouldn't exist and needs to be fixed.
  6. In previous games it was based on how well (in terms of match quality) the title matches were. If the matches sucked (relative to company level) and the champion was an unmarketable momentum black hole, prestige decreased, if the match was good and the champion was doing well, the prestige increased. I assume it's the same still. It's not directly tied to champion overness (all of my belts are more prestigious than my champions are popular, and are still increasing, except the tag titles who are significantly less because the champions got way over recently - need to get the belts off them, hmm...). In general; Pretty important for getting workers over, but not very important once they are over. They're not used in things like national battles any more, so they're just a tool to help get a guy over. Workers with less star quality (and charisma) are less likely to be able to become stars, but once they are stars they don't get any particular benefit from having great SQ other than a small boost to matches/angles.
  7. Look in the bottom right, the icon with a tick and a cross in circles will be lit up in yellow. Click on it, you probably have a worker's contract signing or something to deal with.
  8. Have you got Pre-Booking Bonuses turned off, as well as Mandatory Pre-Booking turned off? It would make perfect sense that if bonuses are turned on, then you'd get the resulting penalty for not delivering the promised match (though one midcarder in a battle royale does seem harsh). Like, a "I know you didn't have to promise me anything, but you did, and you've failed to live up to it" situation. You can't really expect to get the bonuses but ignore the penalties because it's not mandatory. But if bonuses and mandatory pre-booking are both off, I'd take this to the tech support forum if you haven't already.
  9. Try unchecking "Enable Disposition Change Timings" in preferences. It's not specifically meant for that (it's meant so that you can turn a worker any number of times without it being 'too soon'), but the 'not enough buildup' penalty might be turned off at the same time.

  12. Storylines have been freestyle for about ten years. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> No templates, heat is based almost entirely on how well the segments are rated.

The most over guy nearly always wins. If they're equally over, then it's randomised. If you have other road agent notes, but don't select a winner (ie, someone is set to Dominate, or interference is set against a worker) then the agent will take that into account and have the result that makes most sense (ie, the dominating guy will probably win).</p>
  16. Just started a MAW save for the first time this year (edit: this reads like I've never played MAW before, I meant the first time in TEW2020). I've decided to implement my own hiring rules to make things more fun: - I can only hire workers with less than 20 experience (obviously trades/loans don't count). There are two wild card slots, to prevent me ending up with no vets on the roster due to the below rule. - No active wrestlers are allowed to stay more than 8 years (so Fforde has to leave this year, and Architect only has a year left). I'm tempted to make this "nobody at all" to force some announcer turnover too, but... Marv IS MAW, man...
  17. If you're going to correlate them, then that's probably a fair correlation. Momentum affects things too - a Recognisable worker with really high momentum can 'count as' a Well Known one, etc.
  18. They need at least one of two things: 1, a cool name/gimmick/render. This is probably most important. Unless I have something in mind and need someone to fill a role, they need to inspire me. 2, Good basics and safety, at least one good top row skill. If I'm looking for a new star, then obviously star quality, charisma, and either mic skills or menace. If I'm looking for just warm bodies for the roster though, they're not essential.

So it doesn't really do what you want.</p><p> </p><p> There was a change in one of the recent patches that made workers on ironclad written deals much less appealing to larger companies while they still have a long time left on their contract. So it might be that nobody else DOES sign the worker exclusively, but there's nothing to actually stop them if they decide they want to.</p><p> </p><p> There's no way to stop people from signing exclusive deals, other than to get "no stealing" relationships with all the companies that are capable of doing so.</p><p> </p><p> Edit: What you probably actually want to do is make them Freelancers. Then they won't sign long contracts. So even if they do get signed exclusively, it won't be for long.</p>

  21. I would argue that a Flying Crossbody is just about the lowest risk move possible from the top rope, aide from simply getting back down again (although a fair few people have messed that up in the past...).

Not just top rope stuff.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47811" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>And does Story Telling really hurt match quality? The story of the match is way more important than the moves used to tell it. Or does that vary by Product?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> It doesn't necessarily hurt the rating. Workers will 'hold back' even on PPVs, but that doesn't necessarily cause a lower rating (if going all out, or even at normal pace, would've caused stamina penalties for instance you'll probably get a better rating for the story telling match).</p><p> </p><p> If you're running a PPV main event between Wolf Hawkins and Aaron Andrews you don't want it to be story telling. But if you're running Enygma Vs Chris Caulfield it might work better.</p>
  23. The Wrestling Industry and Economy both have ratings between 0 and 100. These change gradually (or sometimes not-so-gradually!) during play. With Strict on, they'll go all the way to 100, then drop all the way to zero, before rising again. With Strict off, they still go up and down, but they can change direction without needing to go all the way to zero or 100.
  24. Just a few points on this thread, whilst I agree with the vast majority of what's being said: This seems perfectly normal? If you're well trained, you should have relatively high basics (not "super high", perhaps), but top row skills develop over time. Wrestling school is all about learning the basics, you develop top row skills once you're out into the 'real world'. So I'd say this particular point was working as intended. Also, where has this idea that there are no pre-set future workers come from? Granted there are 'only' 37 in the default data because most have already debuted by this point, but the feature is still there. That said, definitely agree that the stat generation is a bit weird.
