This has a little to do with the fact that my screen is 2" bigger, but the real reasons are a little different.</p><p> </p><p> - The rise of the bundles and the steam sales:</p><p> </p><p> It seems everyone is just exponentially increasing his backlog with these great deals. Currently, everyone is in the phase of "wow, this is too good to pass up", but in the end, you won't be able to play all of these. Well... not until you dedicate your life to gaming. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I've been asking myself the question as I bought the new Batman: why on earth do I spend 40€ on that sh*t if I can just play something at least equally enjoyable for a couple of bucks on pc? </p><p> </p><p> - PC as a specialized platform:</p><p> </p><p> There's a market for either deep genregames like CKII, TEW and Blood Bowl, and experimental indy games on the PC. Also: adventures are back on the menu, and it's just very hard for console to bat me away from the pc screen. Unless people are coming over to play, but given my age, that happens less and less. Combine this with the new trend of making games as bland as possible, with the AAA titles offering little more than a means for wasting one's time (imo).</p><p> </p><p> - Dubious marketing moves by M$ & Sony</p><p> </p><p> In the creation of their new consoles, both leading hardware dev's made some conscious choices to implement a certain policy. I'm afraid it's not the policy that could concur with my preferences. I can do basically everything on a pc. I don't need a console for that. <strong>By expanding their focus, they're alienating from their customer. I'm not saying that it's not about gaming anymore, but it creates the perception that it isn't.</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>These three reasons I believe made it so that I changed my focus to PC for the first time in 10 years. Do you guys feel the same?</strong></p><p> </p><p> BTW: If anyone missed the WB deal on humblebundle, featuring the first 2 Batman games (GotY) and the FEAR trilogy, gimme a pm and I'll trade it against something. Anything. I accidently bought 2 in my false excitement. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I can't agree with you more about that statement I highlighted in bold above. I'm not liking the future landscape of console games either even though I probably will eventually get a PS4... I have been faithful with Microsoft up to this point and find it insulting that they want to shift away just to please the general audience and making the Xbox One the "all in one" entertainment system. Voice commands and streaming TV while I play a game doesn't really wow me. Having said that, I still would LOVE to try out Dead Rising 3 but in no way shape or form am I buying the Xbox One just for that game.</p><p> </p><p> I have been getting into computer games for the last year or so and I love Steam, GOG, and just recently found out about Desura I think through this thread. Fallout 1 & 2, The Dream Machine, Planescape Torment, Machinarium, Gemini Rue (actually I have really gotten into Wadjet Eye Games' games recently) and of course TEW have become some of my favorite games. So yes, in many ways I am starting to play a lot more games on the PC but I still play console games. However, I don't play my Xbox 360 to go online anymore. Online play has grown stale to me and I don't even wish my worst enemy to try to play any WWE games online anymore! However, I still like to get DLC and play my single player games like the new Batman series and even some of the great new Arcade games like The Walking Dead and A Wolf Among Us by the Telltale Games crew. I even bought Telltale Games' Back to the Future game and that's awesome to play on my PC! So yeah, I guess I have been playing more PC friendly games especially since I don't really desire to play online multiplayer games. In fact, I dread having to play any online multiplayer game these days.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Clarity" data-cite="Clarity" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="28397" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Well my anticipation of getting a PS4 wained when I saw the launch lineup.<p> </p><p> COD, Battlefield 4, NFS Rivals and Killzone do not interest me. I'm with you on this, Clarty, as I hate the Call of Duty games with a passion and don't care for the rest of those games you listed. I might try them out but they don't really appeal to me. It's been forever since I've played a sports game other than a WWE game (does that count?) as I never desire to buy sports games. I havent messed with the campaign too much as I'm waiting for my bestie to get it so we can co-op it.<p> </p><p> But yea, all your fears are fully realized. The maps (all four of them. Yes. Four.) are way too big for 5 v 5 team-based modes or 10-man free for all. You spend more time running around then you do fighting, which to me, is the antithesis of Gears online gameplay which was focused on tactical but action packed type play. What I found alot of successful teams doing is runnign up a quick score, then sticking together and kinda just moving around alot, avoiding conflict. Whereas in previous Gears online experiences, your better teams attempted to fortify a position. This was far more fun with your assault.fortify dynamicrather then your "Chase these jerks around a giant map" dynamic. Gone are executions from multiplayer. No more "downs". You just shoot people and they die. Wonderful. Why maintain the uniqueness and appeal of your formula? </p><p> </p><p> It really just doesn't play all that well either. It feels rushed and less-than-expected in terms of overall polish and quality. It's not terrible. Int here is a decent multiplayer shooter. But honestly, whenever a sequel is a severe step down from it's predecessor it should generally be avoided. I'd avoid this.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I don't fully agree with this but I understand your frustrations with GOW: Judgment. I really enjoy the game as a good multiplayer game but a lot of online players are way too good at the game. The new multiplayer mode where you have to defend a position from the Locust horde from destroying it is terrible, I can't remember what it's called. I hate it mainly because it feels like its a departure from what Gears online should be.</p><p> </p><p> Execution was available as DLC as it should be, that's one of the main mode's I play. I also play free-for-all with my friend and that's the mode I play the most. The campaign was really good but not as good as previous games. I rarely play co-op campaign and it's okay.</p><p> </p><p> The weapons are always great in the Gears games though as I believe they did those very well as usual. The new maps are okay though and my friend and I only play a select number of them on free-for-all, the ones that are available for the mode of course.</p><p> </p><p> I agree with you that you spend most of the time running around but that can be avoided once you figure out where most people fight on whatever map you play. Action tends to spill in certain areas in maps... I can't think of an example but that's what I've found playing online. I also agree that the game feels rushed especially when it comes to the campaign mode. I know I said I liked the campaign mode but it felt too short so I bet they rushed it since Epic knew multiplayer is the main selling point.</p>

It's either going to be MPWF or OLLIE at the moment. Just doing a little more research of each fed and the Mexican wrestling scene and deciding the main characters of the story I want to tell.</p>
  4. I'm contemplating doing an MPWF Diary. The main focus in giving Luchador Original a main event push. Anyone interested in that?

I don't think it's the content putting people off, it's the formatting.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I wouldn't say I didn't like Punk vs. Young but I was puzzled why it was booked until Axel came out to save Punk. I like that they're doing something different but the chemistry between Punk and Young seemed off and/or one of them was off last night. Maybe I'm reading into it too much but I guess I was hoping Punk would face someone more formidable on RAW after coming off of the win against Jericho at Payback.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="djthefunkchris" data-cite="djthefunkchris" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25169" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Want to know who I wish would come back? And dare I say I'd love a heel Batista come back and tell John Cena that he "ain't kissin' babies and huggin' fat girls!" AGAIN! lol, it still makes me chuckle</p>
  6. <p>BHK, I read on ROHworld.com forums that the spoiler you mention is because they're trying to end the last of Cornette's bookings/storylines so Delirious can completely take over bookings/storylines. </p><p> </p><p> Regardless of the reason, I do agree with you that ROH should have seen it coming.</p>
  7. There was a hint at a Big Show face turn on Smackdown when he KO punched Reigns, who sold it like a champ. The Shield tried running in during Orton vs Big Show. I'm not sure where they're going with Sheamus & Orton vs The Sheild but it's really entertaining. It's been a while since I've been entertained by a group like this. I'm not counting NXT because they weren't given a chance. Del Rio vs Sandow was a great opener to the show as well. I'm really liking Del Rio lately ever since he turned face. Sandow looks great too even though I'm not a huge fan of the pink tights. The Miz vs Cesaro in a 2/3 falls match was really good too. It kind of sucks when they do 2/3 falls matches on TV because they only showed two of the falls, the second fall happened during commercials. Cesaro is great, I've always liked him even before signing with the WWE however it seems like it might take the regular WWE crowd a while for them to warm up to him and actually give him a reaction. I guess it depends on who he wrestles though. I could watch Cesaro vs Orton 20 more times tbh and he gets a lot of boos against Orton obviously. And The Miz is well... Miz. I'm indifferent on him even though he is passionate about wrestling. He still acts really heelish even though he's a face. Bryan and Kane are hilarious. Although, I'm getting a little impatient with Bryan turning on Kane. I think that's where it's going.
  8. Ziggler's contract is for the World Title. He can't cash in on the WWE champion. By the way, I don't like that Ziggler and AJ were not on TV last night. Unless there was a legitimate reason for it like AJ not being able to be there. If not, they should've at least had a segment on RAW. I know Ziggler was in the dark match so what the hell?!
  9. I really, really, really hope Punk vs. Cena vs Rock happens at Wrestlemania. I know its a slim chance but it would make the main event a little more unpredictable. It also could help Rock because he was a little off in his match with Punk last night and even worse in his Mania match against Cena last year.
  10. I completely agree with that! It's the one thing I'm really worried about with this storyline, Vickie turning face would be so stupid and I hope WWE realizes that.
  11. I want to like 3MB but it's just not working for them. I know there's a lot of love especially for McIntyre but seriously, do we need MizTV on a PPV? A very lackluster segment too. However, the TLC match was awesome and loved that The Shield looked strong. I'm surprised no one has mentioned that this should have happened when Nexus debuted not too long ago. Instead they jobbed every time. Big Show vs. Sheamus was really good but a terrible finish with that huge chair, that should have been a false finish if anything! It kind of made Sheamus look a little weak after such an intense match. The ladder match was really good too. There were some botched spots but Cena and Ziggler made up for it. The hurricanrana that Cena gave Ziggler into the table was ridiculous, in a good way! And I second the horrible spots that AJ had with Vickie towards the end. They haven't learned that Vickie can't wrestle, have they? Even the tables match between Sin Cara/Mysterio vs Rhodes Scholars was impressive. I can't wait until Rhodes Scholars are new tag team champions! I also can't wait for Cody to have the WWE Title too, he's getting there especially with the stache now!
  12. Like someone mentioned earlier, Shamrock could've just used a mouthpiece like Shane at the time and he could've still been around the upper midcard at least. They could've even given him a day long title reign like they did with Kane. I'm glad this sparked a conversation about a "What if?" scenario especially looking at guys that could've been pushed huge but never happened. bigt, I think I know what you mean since legitimate fighters have been used better nowadays with guys like Danielson, Punk, etc. Although, if given the right storyline with the right guy I believe Shamrock would've been a legit champ even against Rock since they had history. Then again, who knows. Although, it's fun to imagine.
  13. I know this is really off-topic but IMO Aksana has got to be the hottest Diva on the roster. Just had to mention that after looking at some of the 25 days of Divas photos. Anyways, I would second Rock vs. Cena II at Mania mainly because they already have history with their last match at Wrestlemania. I don't know if they'll do Triple H vs. Lesnar again especially since it would be weird to watch HHH wrestle with short hair. Also, I just recently watched part of the Best of King of the Ring DVD through Netflix and I forgot how awesome Rock vs. Shamrock was the year Shamrock won. Triple H on commentary was gold too because they put the camera on Chyna at the spanish announcers table speaking fluent spanish. The King asks Trips what she said and he goes "Something about Taco Bell!" It's hilarious, I forgot how great he was on commentary especially with some of the one-liners he'd give during his time in DX. I got sidetracked with that comment so I wanted to mention that Shamrock was one of my favorite wrestlers back during that time. It makes me wonder if he'd be a former WWE Champion if he stuck around longer.
  14. I caught Smackdown and thought it was odd that Miz vs. Sheamus got more TV time than Ziggler vs. Punk did. Having said that, Miz and Sheamus have decent chemistry so I guess it helped even though Miz has lost a considerable amount of heat since he's come back. I'm pretty sure Ziggler/Punk may have been a test to see how well they work together and might I say, they had a very good match! If given more time and a well-written feud they could have a couple PPV-caliber matches in the future.
  15. I'd second that segment of 2012 almost along with AJ ending that table break on RAW. I don't know where they're going with Punk/Bryan/AJ but I'm loving every minute of it! I am now hoping Bryan wins the title at MITB even though in another way I don't care who wins because it'll be awesome with AJ as special ref. Also, not a fan of that dumb battle royal and Ryder winning. Although, he got a great pop. Alex Riley and Dolph Ziggler have chemistry and I loved how Riley sold the Zig Zag. I really hope they have more matches against each other. I think whenever WWE does a theme-based Smackdown it's almost like a throwaway show since they know viewership will be down.
  16. <p>Seeing that I don't watch TNA regularly, I'm really glad to see them putting faith in a young guy like Bobby Roode as TNA World champ.</p><p> </p><p> I'm not sure what to think about the gut check thing that they do. The casual fan might not follow what Tazz, Snow (great to see him though!), and Pritchard are talking about.</p><p> </p><p> Aries and Sabin had a decent match too and Abyss unmasked in that lawyer gimmick is interesting.</p><p> </p><p> Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the TNA product but that doesn't change the fact they they're doing a number of good things with the young talent and especially the women's division, which they have yet to show off tonight. I'm not sure what to think of Brooke Hogan's involvement except for getting people to watch the program tonight.</p>
  17. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="BHK1978" data-cite="BHK1978" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="26106" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I am not crazy about that formula either but I will say I would rather see it done this way then the typical 4 minute match that they have on RAW and Impact.<p> </p><p> I think both of you are right he seems to be a hippy of some sorts. The thing is with that look you know he is a jobber right away. There is no way ROH would push a guy like that.</p><p> </p><p> Also, I must say that now I get to see ROH on a regular basis I am not blown away by anyone as far as promos go. I kept on hearing how great Kevin Steen's promos are but to me they are kind of bland. The guys I think cut the best promos in the company are The Young Bucks. Even Jay Lethal's proms just do not seem as good as they were when he was in TNA.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> About the ROH formula vs. WWE formula: I totally agree! I love that they give more time for the main event as it should be rather then less time with WWE, then again they're totally different products but, you get my point.</p><p> </p><p> Kevin Steen was pushing the envelope with his earlier promos with Cornette maybe back in December..??? I'm not totally sure since I only caught glimpses of it. Now, I think he's still doing good but I think it's because the storyline has evolved with the banning of his piledriver and now pushing for a title match against Richards. I do agree that The Young Bucks not only are good on the mic but I believe they are possibly the best heel tag team because of how they work heat like not shaking hands (even though that's easy to do) and they way they portray they're cockiness.</p>
  18. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="D-Lyrium" data-cite="D-Lyrium" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="26106" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Not sure if it was just because they knew it was going to be a free episode, but the 28/01 RoH show was basically: Good match -> hype -> Grizzly Squash, LLLLLLOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAADDDDDDDSSSSSSSSS OF HYYYYPEEEEEEEE -> Good main event tag.<p> </p><p> Kevin Kelly was on screen more than Triple H used to be on Raw.</p><p> </p><p> Is that normal for RoH's TV nowadays? Or was that just because it was going to be a free show uploaded to Youtube? At one point there were two back-to-back segments that were just 10th Anniversary hype. At another point, there was a segment dedicated to KK hyping the O'Reilly/Richards/Edwards feud (Cole wasn't even mentioned) that we'd just seen a five minute video about.</p><p> </p><p> #IWantWrestling, damnit! Especially from RoH! </p><p> </p><p> I have no problem with good promo segments (always enjoy me some Steen promo), but a huge proportion of the show was Kevin Kelly's not-exactly-aesthetically-pleasing face shouting (can he not talk normally? Even Hog could get that bit right) about the 10th Anniversary show. And his commentary during the Grizz segment was cringeworthy (thought it was ok the rest of the time).</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yeah, I'm kind of with on that but I think that's the ROH TV formula: 10 minute opener / Hype or promo / possibly another short match / MORE hype / Then a 30 minute main event.</p><p> </p><p> I don't mind since they do really well leading up to their main events especially since Lethal has been in many of them lately (like tonight, for me since I'm in central time, against Strong) and I'm not going to lie, I'm a huge fan of Jay Lethal!</p><p> </p><p> Anyways, I think they hype more because they want people to buy the ippvs and dvds and stuff which is understandable because at the end of the day they gotta make moola! So yeah... I know you're post was a while ago but I figured I'd answer back.</p><p> </p><p> BTW, is Chris Silvio supposed to be a hippy or something? I actually dig his wrestling style but didn't understand his tights and stuff.</p>
  19. I figured you must have had a fondness for The Lawnmower Man. I too remember a movie about a skyscraper being possessed or something... the only thing I could think of was an X-Files episode where the skyscraper security system had a mind of its own. Anyways, I just wanted to get anybody's thought on Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter I am more than intrigued and think it'll be great to get something different other than frickin' Twilight...
  20. Yeah, that's what I was trying to say--that it was an entertaining flick--but I was up late last night and it was not a good decision to drink an energy drink past midnight. Ha... anyways bigt, I do like what you said in the bold part of your post above: the mystery is always exciting and the audience doesn't always need to know everything. I learned that on my way through to get my creative writing degree at a really high level especially in showing more and letting the character's reveal things through dialogue. Making great dialogue and showing a character threw action is kind of a lost art but I know it's still alive and well. One last thought, I do remember hearing that Carrie Fischer doctors screenplays and has helped some great movies with dialogue and stuff. She's incredibly talented in many ways. I don't know why I added that but it's kind of cool to hear about that kind of stuff. ...like The Lawnmower Man?! That movie rules even though I haven't seen it in a long time. Also, I was eight years old when it came out so I remember being confused while watching it with my brother... I was wondering when a crazy "lawnmower man" was actually going to pop out and start going crazy!
  21. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! lol out loud...!!!!???? Scarlet is hot and I've seen most of her movies. Although, Denzel is still awesome to me so yeah... Anyways, I just wanted to mention that I watched The Thing '11 On Demand this week and I actually thought it was done quite well. Also, ITS A PREQUEL so it actually sets up the original so that you could watch the 2011 version and then watch the 82 version almost seamlessly. Although, I'm sure at least one person on here saw the 82 version with Kurt Russell and even though the new one had MEW (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) STILL Kurt Russell + flame flower + awesome soundtrack always wins!!!! My vote: Rent The Thing '11 if your on the fence unless you don't like gory horror movies then nevermind my suggestion
  22. From the link posted above, Savage's tights in that match were awesome! He had some of the best tights ever. By the way, I was watching the 1/20/12 (or 20/1/12 for UK fans?) episode of Smackdown and I thought it was hilarious when McIntyre clotheslined the ring-post during the blindfold match. Ha, I wonder what Drew did to deserve such a bad storyline...
  23. <p>Honestly, I ended up marking out when they announced Bryan vs. Punk at the beginning of the show. First time in a long time that I actually marked out for a match since I did see those two wrestle in Saint Paul about 8 years ago.</p><p> </p><p> Anyways, I thought this last Monday night Raw was one of the best Raw's I've seen in a while. Orton/Dolph was a great opener, Bryan/Punk was solid, and the ending segment with Taker/Trips made sense.</p><p> </p><p> Yes, there is always something that is not easy to watch especially Khali being back now... I believe he came down to beat up Mahal. And the Divas match wasn't given enough time.</p><p> </p><p> Overall though, I thought it was a great show.</p>
