  1. <p>I like having more control, but if it leads to better cards, maybe that's a tradeoff I'm willing to make.</p><p> </p><p> I kinda feel like I'm seeing a trend towards a more streamlined game with a broader appeal but less depth. That's probably a smart move overall but for me personally I'm starting to get a weird vibe.</p>
  2. I don't have any immediate ideas but this is a cool idea that I will also probably steal
  3. Woulda been fine with that feature (at least now that it was explained a bit more), am also fine without it. Probably a good idea to skip the drama though!
  4. I'm running a PG version of ECW and lost most of their iconic guys to drugs or poaching. I have more trouble imagining an ECW fan that DOESN'T gripe about my show, but this Too Cold Scorpio/Iron Sheik feud is MONEY I tell ya!
  5. The product system was one of my favorite things about 2016, and I was one of the weirdos playing with weird settings that didn't make sense, so this is my first time being actively bummed about an update. I imagine it'll be a net positive for most folks, I just ain't one of them.
  6. <p>One of my favorite parts of the game is watching stuff, and one of my favorite things to watch is indy shows, so I'm hyped for this!</p><p> </p><p> As for a calendar, sure it'd be nice to have a real one, but at this point I've gotten used to the 48-week thing and don't particularly mind it. Took me a while though.</p>
  7. This seems like it might be interesting, but it's new and scary and I liked the old system. I'll probably like it, but I'm reserving judgment.
  8. I use autopush almost religiously- I'll boost one or two guys at a time to Lower Midcarder and lock in staff where I want them, but otherwise the autopush's word is law, and I will almost never have an "upset" where a guy beats somebody higher up the card.
  9. More of a forum question than a tew question but not sure where else to ask. My buddies and I are working on a mod, and thinking about posting it here. I think we have permission from everybody whose data we borrowed, but for pictures we're probably just gonna google stuff and then cut it (a lot of which might be fanart). We're too lazy to track down artists for our bazillion pictures and ask them, and might wind up finding some cuts from other mods as well. Does the rule on other people's work prevent us from including the pic pack if we post the mod here?
  10. See I'm the opposite- anything outside of booking and looking at the game world (such as finances, TV deals, and sometimes even contract negotiations) kinda annoys me and I'd honestly like less of it.
  11. The second best news I've heard today! The first best is: because I have been working on a mod for years now and had a moment of panic that it wasn't going to be compatible
  12. Next person to want rules for a WWE game: pull the first six possible prompts from Storyline Bot at <div class="ipsEmbeddedOther"> <iframe data-embedid="bd64be093936d9be1cda32424086e1a0" allowfullscreen="" data-embed-src="<___base_url___>/index.php?app=core&module=system&controller=embed&url=https://twitter.com/StorylineBot?s=09"></iframe> </div>
  13. You can't have nice things: The loser of the Punk/Styles feud will be fired. You may bring them back six months later, but only with an extreme repackage. Lake of Reincarnation: You must bring back at least one of: Three Count (Helms); Surfer Sting; Se7en (Goldust); Disco Inferno; or GI Bro (Booker) Old memes from other forums: Nunzio and Orlando Jordan must main event Nitro together by the end of 2005, whether in a singles match against each other, or as a tag team. A matter of pride: If Sting leaves the feud with the title, he will only defend it against veteran WCW talents. If Vampiro does, he will only defend it against cruiserweights and hispanics. If Booker T or anybody else somehow winds up winning the title as part of the feud, Cena must be the next champion after that. I see that Yakuza reference: Kazuma Kiryu must win the tag titles by the end of 2005 as part of a yakuza-themed stable or team. My guiltiest pleasure: You must bring back Lethal Lottery at least once. When you do, you must *actually* randomize the tag team round(s). I assume WWF is still in this scenario: You must either reach a working agreement with WWF, or sign every person that leaves their roster.
  14. Is there a good resource somewhere for relationships and personalities? I'm working on a mod and I know a lot of backstage stuff but I am sure there is much more that isn't on my radar.
  15. <p>I've been kinda interested recently in "bingo" challenges for video games (like the ones you can generate at <a href="http://speedruntools.com/bingo/" rel="external nofollow">http://speedruntools.com/bingo/</a> ....basically you have a pool of different goals, assemble 25 of them randomly onto a 5x5 grid, and try to get five in a row as fast as you can.)</p><p> </p><p> The concept doesn't work great for a lot of the games I play, and I don't have anybody to race with anyway, but I wonder how well it would work as a new format for "rules for a game" challenges? You'd probably have to set goals based on an individual fed/mod, but I think it could work.</p>
  16. Tom Bombadil ThunderLance Wrestling End of 2020 (Year 5) (Yep this is still going and still very slow) ThunderLance Wrestling did rather well in 2020! We hit Regional and brought in some new blood. Some of them (Mr. Lucha, Boom Boom Jamaica) have done better than others (Kentucky Bill, Stevie Grayson), but show ratings are trending upwards, and we're even able to venture outside Great Lakes once in a while. One awkward challenge is that we made Fro Sure a figurehead, but shortly thereafter, the influx of new guys after we hit Regional knocked him down to an Upper Midcarder. Regional Battles are also a thing now- we're generally 3rd of 4, but improved to 2nd last time! This was a better year for me than 2019. I was able to benefit from a feud with Mr. Lucha III. I slipped out of the main event after we hit Regional, but am still able to rival some of our main event match ratings. (and still took our MotY!) My In-Ring is rapidly catching up to the rest of my stats, which is a mixed blessing since Entertainment and Physical aren't gaining quickly any more. I've more or less stayed the same in Popularity- it dipped in the middle, but came back up in the end. 17. <p>Tom Bombadil</p><p> ThunderLance Wrestling</p><p> End of 2019 (Year 4)</p><p> </p><p> ThunderLance Wrestling has weathered the year fairly well, all things considering. We lost some hot prospects as usual, but were able to rebuild with a mostly new crop of folks, led by Fro Sure. We're knocking on the door of Regional, albeit not gaining ground incredibly quickly. The big event of the year was when we bought out ACPW, bringing in Jamie Atherton, Ozzie Golden, Raphael, and the ACPW Jr. Heavyweight Title- all of which have done well!</p><p> </p><p> Churchillian Neck-Nerve damage kept me out of the limelight for a solid chunk of the year, but I kept my skills sharp in undercard matches while waiting for it to heal. I'll probably become our first two-time champion once I run out of good challengers for Fro Sure. I've become quite the ring general, hitting 90 in Safety and mid to high 70's for most of Performance. 19. <p>Tom Bombadil</p><p> ThunderLance Wrestling</p><p> End of 2018 (Year 3)</p><p> </p><p> ThunderLance Wrestling has been able to come together nicely. They are making little headway in popularity, and are set to lose some top talent in the next week, (most notably, star Logan Wolfsbaine) but have been profitable and slowly developing new talent. Outlaw Wes Revell, Austin Smooth, and a few others were hired towards the end of the year, to fill out the roster. Cobra has emerged from the undercard to show a wealth of potential, and Ava Anderson will be allowed to leave soon after contributing nothing major except attitude for years.</p><p> </p><p> My character had a fairly good year. I was able to maneuver myself into the top face position by turning Wolfsbaine, which is a level of cunning I don't usually employ. Consequently, I have finally won my world title, and am doing decently well. My stats aren't quite where I'd like them to be, but they are still climbing, and I have become quite capable in Performance and Entertainment. Much like last year, I am losing my best wrestler, so now I have a large role in carrying the company. 20. <p>Tom Bombadil</p><p> ThunderLance Wrestling</p><p> End of 2016 (Year 1)</p><p> </p><p> ThunderLance Wrestling continues a modest gain after hitting Small. Now that we are subject to regional battles, our growth has been hampered, but not stopped. Teddy Powell was brought in, and has been a huge success as both the star of the promotion and a locker room leader. Logan Wolfsbaine, Laura Flame, and Avalanche Takano have continued their good work, while Justice Jolson and Hawkeye Calhoun are starting to develop a following as well. Amy Galaxy has sadly fallen a bit off the pace, and Avalanche Takano has worked his last show before returning to Japan in a few days.</p><p> </p><p> I feel my stat gains are already starting to level off a bit, and that worries me. +3-6 points over the year in In Ring, 7-15 in Performance, 3-8 in Physical, and 12-15 in Entertainment (as well as 2 SQ and 7 sex appeal)</p><p> </p><p> COMPANY STATS</p><p> World Champ: Teddy Powell</p><p> Main Eventers: Teddy Powell, Justice Jolson, Logan Wolfsbaine</p><p> Power 500: Logan Wolfsbaine (#307)</p><p> Awards: None</p><p> Best Match: Logan Wolfsbaine d. 21. Tom Bombadil ThunderLance Wrestling End of 2016 (Year 1) ThunderLance Wrestling hit Small towards the end of the year, but has struggled to gain much momentum now that it's competing with other feds. The good news is our finances are in the green now! Amy Galaxy, Avalanche Takano, Logan Wolfsbaine, and Laura Flame have all had lots of good exposure and chances to help carry the company. I let Freedom Eagle leave the company because his talent was not equal to his ego. I feel that Ava Anderson may soon share the same fate. I don't really know what pace I should be aiming for, but I'm reasonably happy with my stat gains. My top row stats didn't shoot up as quickly as I'd hoped, but my Mic/Cha/Act went up at least 15 points each, and I saw very nice gains in Performance as well. I got 10 in Stamina, but at 40 I'm still taking hits for my longer matches, and I'd like to fix that. I'm not the greatest worker, but I can be carried by the more talented members of my roster, and I've focused on working with them of course. 22. Do production penalties care about how badly you're failing, or is it just Pass/Fail? ie, does it matter how many more companies have higher values? Or how many levels higher they are?
  23. Alright, my fed made it to Small! Anything I should be aware of now?
