  1. I let the owner happen organically (getting a road agent) and hired pretty much the six cheapest folks I could find in my area, which happened to be all vets except one rookie. Plus a ref. That seems a bit thin for weekly shows and repetitive match penalties, so I'm not sure I'd recommend it.
  2. This actually hasn't been my experience, but I've mostly been playing with weird mods so take that with a few grains of salt. In testing my project I've seen barely any outside hires, actually!
  3. I like to use a ref since you need one anyway and they'll work for free if you're having money issues.
  4. <p>I slapped my weird 80% finished 2016 mod into the converter and some of the feds played better than others and so somehow my first file has become Sonic the Hedgehog:</p><p> </p><p> Master Emerald: Rouge the Bat</p><p> (Only title change so far, and that only because the champ Knuckles got signed away. My season finale's coming up so she drops it there at the latest.)</p><p> 50 Rings: E-123 Omega</p><p> (No idea what I'm gonna do with this- I'm not loving my midcard)</p><p> Tag: Chaotix (Espio and Mighty)</p><p> (I want to break these guys up for alignment reasons but my tag division is already weak so they might stick around)</p>
  5. <p>It'll vary a bit based on what self-imposed rules and fed size I'm running, but generally:</p><p> </p><p> -Try to have a vague idea of what the top feud or two are going in the next few months</p><p> -Plan out the next PPV's matches, trying to get all the key players and titles on the card.</p><p> -Plan out the TV so that every storyline generally has something happening at least once a week.</p><p> -That usually takes up 50-75% of my TV shows. Oftentimes I'll think of another segment or two that would make sense, in addition to those that I came up with in advance.</p><p> -Whatever's left of the show, I tend to go into "gamer mode" and just throw together filler-y matches and angles with whoever's left. I'll usually pick people one each from a variety of categories, like the tabs on creative, or people I've gone the longest without using.</p><p> </p><p> I keep telling myself I'm going to start doing fancy things with Excel but it just seems like a lot of busy work when I'm actually about to do it. For now it's still Notepad.</p>
  6. For some reason I think I'm the other way around- I find it easier to work with my top couple storylines than the rest of the card, be it midcarders, a women's division, or whatever else. I'm wondering if it's because undercarders get less time on shows, or maybe I got too used to repetitive WWE midcard booking.
  7. Usually- look at your product and see what your Match Focus is and look it up in the handbook. (maybe do the same for Angle Focus while you're at it) We'd probably need more information for the second question. What are your shows' ratings in comparison to how popular your fed is?
  8. I don't think so, but it's normal for them to do better than humans under the same conditions.
  9. I enjoy having little added challenges- if I'm doing some sort of other gimmick, I'll play as an owner, and if I'm not, I'll usually be a booker with Owner Goals. I like the idea of Strict Storylines but for some reason I'm having issues with that in 2020 and might turn 'em off soon.
  10. Credit to southside hitmen for the original idea, I just liked it and wanted to make sure it got seen. I'd like to see a way to check from the editor the face/heel balance of a company, similarly to Estimated Roster. (maybe even just add it to that screen?) Would beat having to start a new game every time you wanted to check that, or figure it out contract by contract in the editor. If we're feeling ambitious, maybe even have a way to filter by Perception, or filter by wrestlers v. non-wrestlers, or a breakdown of who is on what side, or a estimate of how many people the AI would turn immediately.
  11. I just voted for "only once" although thinking about it, for fantasy-ish mods like this one I'm a little more inclined to try it again later with a different fed.
  12. +1. I guess it could be a hair smaller if people wanted it but I'm pretty happy with how the space is used.
  13. Could just read those as "be in an X sized promotion for the first time" I'm excited to play, so thanks for all the work so far!
  14. I don't miss grades as much as I expected in actual gameplay, but I realize now that I was leaning rather heavily on them for modding.
  15. In this and other projects, I've had a "MELEE MAYHEM" belt where the match stipulation is decided at random right before every title defense.
  16. So if I'm going to import whole chunks from another mod, what's the best order in which to get companies and teams and relationships and stuff to minimize what I have to re-input?
  17. Maybe I'm the only one, but I will absolutely use all that space to write myself notes. Especially now that it's gotten harder to fit Notepad on the screen.
  18. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="SirMichaelJordan" data-cite="SirMichaelJordan" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="48383" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Lol that’s actually a great idea. The penalty notes can be virtual Dave Meltzer lol</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This, except I propose Jim Cornette instead.</p>
  19. I'm not understanding your question- you can check them on the storylines tab at any point and it'll tell you whether you're filling the requirement, I'd just like that information to show up in the Assistant.
  20. If I have Strict Storylines on, failing the requirement is the kind of thing I'd expect to see on the Office's Assistant overview.
  21. I've already had about as much successful meddling in 2020 as I did in my entire 2016 career, it feels like. Are you looking at the odds?
