Did you track somebody who targeted you two nights in a row? What are the odds on that?</p><p> </p><p> Wait, does that make Mach the van driver? Because if it does, I think I want more of an explanation of what exactly he does and who he's been doing it to.</p>
  2. I thought the kill loss was when the Don dies?

I think I've seen (and experienced) it both ways. If you have a mafia with a floating pool of abilities that the Don assigns to his crew each night, then you'll probably lose the kill that night because you've cut the head off the snake and nobody's in charge. Alternatively if each member of the scum team has a set job and function - and based off the two in the graveyard, that certainly seems to be the case here - then with the Hitman gone the team lose their kill that night while they restructure. It's an extra bonus for us for catching the killer.

You obviously think you might have prevented a kill last night, but it doesn't sound that way in the write-up. Every other night you have intercepted people out on the street, in the middle of doing other things. This time you have to go to their house. It sounds like they weren't going to be doing anything at all had you not knocked on the door.

  3. He slipped out of the house although he was use working at night, tonight would be a different experience for him. He turned the corner not realizing he was alone. They both followed at a distance, but were unaware of the other.

They rounded the corner and another joined behind one of the two following. All completely hidden from each other.

    _______________________________________________________________

He arrived at his house. But it was completely dark. No sign of anyone home. “Interesting.”

    _________________________________________________________________

He settled into the woods beside the house. Completely oblivious to the caravan of people that were in tow.

His target came out and turned when they got to the sidewalk and turned down the street. Walking right past the one watching him.

    _______________________________________________________________

He neared the corner where he normally went into the woods to get to his target. As he turned, he ran into a man hurriedly walking the opposite direction.

Excuse me sir. I have a important appointment.”

No problem, have a good night.”

He waited to the man was out of sight and slipped into the woods.

    _______________________________________________________________

He was watching from the corner. As he exited his vehicle, he started towards him. They arrived at the same place on the sidewalk as he turned from closing the door.

Excuse me, I didn’t see you.”

It’s okay. I wasn’t paying attention to where I was walking.”

    Well have a good night.”

    To you as well.”

He crossed the street at the next corner. The caravan surprisingly unnoticed by anyone, including each other, followed behind.

    _________________________________________________________________

So, about this caravan. If Arrows is the "meat in the sandwich", then he - a tracker - is followed by two other trackers, one of whom is being protected. And then they cross paths with the van driver - do we assume that's Arrows' target? Or should we take from it that Arrows has been switched because he continues on, presumably to a different target?

Does everyone else feel that red mafia didn't get a kill? Do we feel they were blocked? Could that be my target, the homeowner who locked their door?

I think it's fairly standard that the scum lose their kill for a night when the hitman goes down. There's nothing that sounds like a scum kill attempt.

That reads...like I don't even know what that reads like.

Guy visiting house gets attacked? But kidnapped not killed?

Yeah, that's a weird one. I've got to figure it's the town vig involved, but I have no idea what happened to them.

If a Xerox is than anything is at this point.

Yeah, what on earth is a Copier? Is there anything on either previous night that we can tie to MLT?

    Other things:

Our poison victim generally spends the night in the woods? Anybody recognise themselves there?

Also, what the hell is going on with the phoneline stuff? What is that? Are people passing messages?

They just gain the ability to use it themselves.</div></blockquote><p> I always think of a thief as being kind of a hint role cop. Like they find an item that gives a clue as to who/what their target is. But it's a role I've never played, so I could be way off base there.</p><p> </p><p> I really want to know about the guy with the van. Presumably whoever blocked them on N1 knows who they are... unless that was Phoenix, of course.</p><p> </p><p> It's weird to realise that we have two players right now who are the living dead. Somebody has been poisoned - I keep reading that section but it gives away close to zero about the victim's identity - and Crychon will die of grief.</p><p> </p><p> Derek and I were having a nostalgic mafia talk about a week ago and we got talking about the poisoner role we designed for Medical Mafia way back when and how poisoners are a great SK role because they have some insulation from watchers and trackers but nobody ever puts them in games. Then one shows up here. So nice one Outlaw, respect.</p><p> </p><p> Actually, Crychon, are you just going to drop dead tonight? Should we be worried about any side effects? Are you going to explode and destroy a city block or anything?</p><p> </p><p> It sounds like Anti is pretty much bang to rights, absent some other shenanigans. We've still got 48 hours to decide due to Murica-Fest or whatever, so there's plenty time to decide what to do with him.</p>

I thought last night's poison might have been the "how rude" opening though?</p>
  8. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Arrows" data-cite="Arrows" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46026" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I mean, if he wants to protect me, thanks? I don't know what I did that he thinks is suspicious. I'm not the guy trying to incite panic via text color, or the guy in a role claim battle with someone who's clearly the one telling the truth about that spot in the write up. Makes so much more sense to be Astil there.<p> </p><p> I could do one better, but I see no need to do so at the moment. I'd also like to request if we have an investigator paying attention, to not waste it on me tonight. Scum likes killing me early, no reason to get a result on a dead person. Or Derek will keep me, and I may not be open to be investigated and waste the night for them entirely.</p></div></blockquote><p> I don't know whether Arrows is trustworthy, but I've got to admire the balls of, "don't investigate me, I'm not worth it." If he's scum, that's a heroically bold play. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> I never like lynching Derek, games are more fun with him in them, but Astil makes a strong case. I need to give it more thought whether to lend it my endorsement. I'll be back before deadline.</p>
  9. Exciting start to Day 2! This whole Derek/Astil situation is very odd and it's tough to know who to believe. For either of them to straight up lying would be a super bold scum play, and at best would result in a 1-for-1 for them by the end of Day 3. Both are strong players, so that doesn't ring true at all.

Derek's too smart to claim an action if he's been blocked. However, I don't know if I'd expect a result PM for a non-information gathering role. But maybe I'm wrong, maybe you'd still get a "couldn't locate target" PM. It's been too long since I played this game, I don't remember what the standard procedures were anymore.

I'm not going to vote on anyone just now, but I would definitely like to hear Anti's thoughts on the whole thing still. Does he see himself anywhere? Were his activities successful? Thoughts and opinions?

    Two other things:

My mafia rust may be showing, but is Physician a common alternate name for Jail Keeper? I don't remember ever seeing it before, but I don't remember a lot of things. It's the only thing that bothers me about Astil's claim, but it's more for a lack of knowledge on my side than because I doubt him. I literally don't doubt his claim at all and I want to make that very clear for later on if this becomes an issue.

Isn't doctor a common alternate for protector? I might be wrong, but that's all that comes to mind for me.

Until I see further evidence that the colors mean something in the write up, I’m working off the presumption that they’re just there to distinguish different characters in the overnight conversations and don’t link to roles.

I saw a possible roleblock or two (depending on how you read one section), a couple folks with eyes out in the community watching and looking into things, and at least one person who had multiple visitors. Not a lot to start with, I know, and in a way it raises more questions than answers to me as a few sections can be read multiple ways.

    As for my hunches...

machinesxe-12(Astil, Destiny, Derek B, BlueStar, Arrows, Jaded, Paws7297, eayragt, Crychon, Wrestling Century, The Two, The Archer, (MLT in late with not properly formatted vote)

The underlined group is who I’m most suspicious of right now. I’m having trouble getting reads on them (ring rust, anyone?). The later in the list, the more suspicious I am. Remember, these are the ones who dropped votes within a span of the last 8 hours when Mach was at a “safe” distance for a D1 push that normally doesn’t go anywhere (unless the meta changed since I last played here.)

Since I saw my name mentioned (I'm honoured).

I know my vote came fairly late in the phase, I wasn't at all sure about joining the wagon on Mach, and I can admit that it was probably fairly reckless, but that seemed to be the collective will of the town and I was content to go with them and take a chance on achieving something (anything) on Day 1. You know the old joke about the politician who looks out the window, sees people marching and declares, "These are my people, I must find out where they're going so I can lead them"? That was the way people were going, I got on board.

I still find MLT's last second unformatted vote to be pretty suspect, but that only means something if they're both scum. Not something I have any interest in pushing right now, but if one of them turns up red...

  11. <p>Day One is always weird. It's pretty much a shot in the dark to try lynching anyone, short of a colossal cock up on the part of Team Scum.</p><p> </p><p>

I've been weighing whether to add weight to the push on Mach, and while I'm still not certain, his one-and-done did look a bit dodgy. Crychon is probably right that he'll show up as soon as darkness falls.</p><p> </p><p>

On balance, I'll add some extra leverage to the wagon. <strong>Vote: Machinesxe</strong></p><p> </p><p>

I pronounce it Machinezee, like a mechanical chimpanzee. Is that just me?</p>
