  2. Destination X Pre-Show and Last Call As per usual, the pre-show represents the last call. Goal is to get this show up by Thursday. I've booked the six weeks leading into Slammiversary and am excited to tell that tale. Destination X is really the kick off to the road to Slammiversary and I think it'll be a fun show. Quick Picks Last Call (Thank you to the six of you who have already predicted)

  14. Post-No Surrender Discussion With Impact wrapping up their most recent Impact Plus special let's take a peek behind the curtain. The opening bout was initially designed to promote Daga and Tessa as a strong unit/top threat. Originally planned for Tessa to be the one to challenge Ace Austin at Slammiversary with Destination X as a mere distraction. But Tessa leaving Impact in reality and her general "bad reputation" in the locker room led me to rethink her story... And then the game played into this by pure happenstance. Tully Blanchard died 8 days after this show, and I had already written Tessa off for the next tapings (which were four days before). With Tully's unfortunate death (the second big blow for AEW, Jim Ross passed two weeks earlier), it gave me an easy reason write off Tessa and as such she is now done with Impact. Daga will be sticking around, but we won't likely see him until after Slammiversary as I have nothing for him. Plan to reintroduce him either in August, or when I co-promote some shows with AAA in the Fall (likely November, but maybe August). Taya Valkyrie and Rosemary's quick little story was based around their current "friendship" of sorts and it'll continue to develop. I'm still debating the Knockout Tag Titles, but as of now I don't plan to bring them into the picture... but the division will continue to add talent as was hinted with the debut promo that aired before this match. Moose's TNA Heritage run will give him a storyline through Slammiversary and potentially longer. I've always loved the big gold belt they introduced in the early 2010's and Moose bringing it back is absolute gold. I'm think thinking that we will use this to introduce a midcard/upper midcard title, but for now, Moose is a make-believe champion and he'll continue to feud with former faces of TNA. Slammiversary will be fun. Hernandez and the Deaners is a temporary pairing to give them something to do, we will likely pivot away from this, but Hernandez needs something and this is a good use of a tag team and off-site booking. Ace Austin's announcement about Destination X was directly related to one of your comments asking why we didn't have Destination X. I've always loved Ultimate X and loved the concept of Destination X so hearing someone comment that it was missing led to this... the X-Division champ bringing it back made sense to me. Ace Austin is a future star and he's been killing it here... this was designed to make him feel powerful and give me a chance to test the new tournaments feature. There is a bigger picture here, but Ace Austin and TJ Perkins little feud may have a shot to come to a head if Perkins can escape his group... As for the groups, The Rascalz may have to face eachother which is a fun twist... beyond that let's talk about The Rascalz. Dez, Wentz and Trey are beginning to shift away from the perpetually stoned gimmick to a more serious, but still stoned gimmick. Trey has been found knocked out or passed out for weeks now and tonight he got accidentally involved in a title match. There is a bigger purpose and bigger story... it'll keep developing and hopefully will make sense and give all of them a bigger direction. As we move towards Slammiversary (10 weeks away) I've really thought about the new direction of Impact, let's just say we have some young stars that will carry us into the new future, but we also have some established guys who have earned a chance. Rob Van Dam not using his X-Division title shot yet or in the upcoming tournament is very intentionally... he's lazy now, and more interesting in Katie Forbes and friends. That leads to why he has a feud with Willie Mack. Mack has a purpose, RVD has a purpose and that makes me happy. The North are now on a 10 week collision course to Slammiversary but with no real threats to the title, we have to get creative... taking inspiration from their real life skits filmed why they were stuck in Canada, I expect we will see The North pick on jobbers until Slammiversary. Tommy Dreamer has announced he's retiring, and that coincides perfectly with Slammiversary... I have a great send-off match planned for him and this match will help build towards that. Madman Fulton is strong and Raven has really been helping him. The Unkindness as a group has a slow-burn, but they will be growing and the entanglement with both Dreamer and Callihan in seemingly separate arcs is completely intentional. One is based on violence, the other mind games. Two things that I've always found Raven to be a master at. Last but not least, The World Champion, Eddie Edwards is great performer in the ring and makes for a good champion. He may not be perfect but he's great to carry us to Slammiversary, and potentially beyond. Currently, I have a story mapped out for it, but I may move away from that as things develop. He needs a good challenger build-up through Slammiversary, so we will have that finalized over the next month as we run through Destination X. Last but not least, I won't spoil anything but there are a number of faces who will be added to the roster to both refresh and replenish the roster. As of right now that number is looking like five workers but I may add more. I will make the same promise the real Impact is, "At least one former World Champion will debut at Slammiversary". ------------------------------------------------ No Surrender was our highest rated event so far, but fell short of some TV tapings. I'm still getting a hang of the new systems. The North vs. The Rascalz was the match of the night and was our third best match so far. Predictions: Nobby_McDonald 6/7 Blodyxe 4/7 The Lariat 4/7 Kijar 4/7 Overall Predictions (Five Shows In): Nobby_McDonald: 25/30 (+1) Powerbrock100: 21/23 (+4) Blodyxe: 18/22 (+4) Kijar: 16/22 (+1) Munit: 12/16 Olivertaylor276: 10/15 (+1) The_Lariat: 10/15 (+1) 20Legend: 4/8 Thinking we will run this batch of predictions through Slammiversary then award some prizes, so thank you to the eight participants thus far and the numerous readers! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- For an Impact Plus event this one had a couple more twists and turns. Madman Fulton getting DQ'd threw everyone, rightfully so. Rosemary/Taya I debated all three finishes, but ultimately went the obsessed with Bravo route, because it opens some fun lanes for the next few months. I also love The Rascalz as a tag team and think the story we are building towards will help them in the long run. They are some of my top performers so the character development will help them. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is an open book, so any questions (about the game world or booking decisions) are more than welcome and encouraged. I'm always good with breaking the fourth wall to give you the insight into my thought process.
  15. The Buy In Colt Cabana vs. Austin Gunn --- Gunn will get a nice boost wrestling Cabana, but Cabana wins. Jake Hager vs. Luchasaurus --- Luchasaurus isn't style, though the gimmick makes me laugh. Hager is a better star. Main Card Orange Cassidy/Trent vs. Lucha Bros vs. Scorpio Sky/Kazarian --- Biggest threats Sammy Guevara vs. Jungle Boy --- Bigger star in my mind. Darby Allin vs. Brian Cage --- I love this match, Cage wins, but I'd love a Darby upset Young Bucks vs. Santana & Ortiz --- Continuing to move towards the big tag title explosion with FTR or Omega/Page. Cody vs. Chris Jericho --- I could go either way, ultimately Jericho's age leads me to saying Cody wins. AEW TNT Championship: PAC © vs. Chris Hero --- I love the concept of this title, but man do I find it ugly (then again, I really dislike most of the modern belts WWE and Impact have come up with recently... I really like the AEW World Title and the ROH ones though... end random thought) AEW Women's World Championship: Hikaru Shida © vs. Kris Statlander vs. Riho vs. Nyla Rose vs. Thunder Rosa vs. Bea Pristley --- Going off the board a bit here, I think Bea brings a different dimension to the title race and I'm going with her even though I doubt she stands a chance. AEW World Tag Team Championship: Adam Page & Kenny Omega © vs. FTR -- FTR vs Bucks, Titles on the line in the future. Seems to fit. Page maybe beginning a singles feud/run. AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley © vs. MJF --- MOX is better than MJF, and MJF knows it.

  17. <p>Personally, I'd lean towards those people staying with NXT/WWE.
