1. Love the fact that you tie the KO's into both their own show and the main show without needing to tell the story of the main show. As someone who always struggles to book women, this is a great way to see it! Love this.
 2. Excellent start for Alex Wright! Future star in the making! Great start, I got into WCW around early 1996, so this has some of my guys!

 18. Impact on AXS TV (June Week 3 and 4, plus Xplosion) Four weeks remaining until Slammiversary, a bit of storytelling here and pushing towards some bouts. Main event feud (Edwards and Austin) took a personal turn here...

I completely agree, I think it would be a disaster... but there is something about it being a nice way to move Tommy off the active roster, and give a former TNA Champ a send-off into his full-time managerial role... Plus, the non-existent fans will need to go buy merch hahaha.

I was really disappointed with Mack's showing. He must have some bad destiny roll, but he seems to underperform frequently, which is concerning. Something about the ladder match just didn't work the way I wanted it to, but that makes the game fun.

I've booked the six weeks of tv through Slammiversary and will begin posting them this week. Haven't booked Slammiversary yet, and I keep going back and forth on the direction I want to go with a couple characters. These Impact Plus specials aren't typically places where you'll see title changes and big surprises, but in this case I did go with one title change and I felt like it was the right choice... So let's take a peek behind the curtain and the thought process here...

Ultimate X. From the mind of Don Callis, MBA, Ultimate X was introduced to TNA in 2003 during the 59th episode of TNA on PPV. I've always loved it as a concept and thought this was a great time to both A) Bring it back and B) use it transition the title off Ace Austin without harming his red hot momentum... Unfortunately for me... it did tank his popularity as his gimmick weighs Wins and Losses a ton (sadly as I think he's a good slime ball type heel). I did think about him keeping the title and then using "Option C" and cashing it in for a title shot, but decided that would be lame and instead we'd go with the post-main event assault (more on that decision later). The_Lariat nailed this thought, Perkins won, Bey looked strong, and Perkins winning also pushes along the fact that Austin has never defeated Perkins. It gives TJP credit, it gives Ace a natural rival to face in the future regardless of how his next pursuit goes and it keeps Bey engaged.

The women's match, a bit of a throwaway, Alisha didn't really have a story, but after this loss, and the result of the Main Event, she's got a new path and that was the goal... She'll be in her man's corner. Beyond that, the goal here was to begin the build for Slammiversary's KO Title match with Jordynne Grace and her two rivals, the strange bedfellow team of "All Me" Tenille Dashwood and "Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo. Consider this a simple storytelling victory.

Kylie Rae is stuck in the undead realm. James Mitchell and the Killer Death Machine's are determined to crack her and stop her smiling ways... but now Susie is hearing things and may be on the way to save her? or not... this is a throwaway storyline to keep people occupied.

The Canadian flag is a hint for Slammiversary. I've mentioned that this roster needed refreshing and it'll be happening at Slammiversary. I unfortunately didn't beat the actual Impact to their show, but I will say I didn't go the same route they did in all cases.

The Master and The Machine I've known as a jobber team from ROH / Carolina/Georgia area. Of course if you follow AEW and Being the Elite, you've probably seen Griff Garrison recently... This was just happenstance this was a one off appearance, they may job as needed, but this was local talent and they sucked...I wanted The North to easily crush a jobber team to set up the open challenge for Slammiversary for any FORMER tag team champions from around the world... That's pretty open-ended and for a reason. I loved some of the guesses also, but again, I'm saving the bigger surprises for Slammiversary. I'm a big Sabin/Shelley fan and for the record, Sabin is on the roster as a Road Agent currently... so... it could happen. Though currently I have a no stealing agreement with Shelley's employer, ROH.

It may feel a bit like I'm brushing off The Rascalz, but that isn't true, they have a big match at Slammiversary, and we will figure out what has been happening to Trey before then as well. They are three of the best performers in the company, I just needed them to have a better direction than purely comedy stoners... though The Treehouse isn't going anywhere.

Speaking of that, D'Lo Brown's promo is another hint for Slammiversary. Just read it carefully and take it in whatever direction you feel like... lots of a paths. Remember I did realize all the WWE talent they released in April 2020 as I'm playing as if COVID-19 is happening in this game world too. I will also say... when my narrative hit in-game WWE made a couple shocking releases... but for now, I'm not signing them... I'm actually debating the route I want to go with that, and it may wind up as a prize for the prediction contest. I'll reveal more post-Slammiversary as it is an interesting event that occurred in game to the WWE landscape.

Raven and Madman Fulton continue to bully Tommy Dreamer. At the moment I don't remember if I wrote this in or not, but Dreamer has announced his in-ring retirement... and as fate will have it... Raven announced his a mere week later. These two are legends, and while Raven's main purpose now is "The Unkindness" and leading Fulton (his group is going to grow shortly, think Flock), I'm thinking about giving Dreamer and Raven the in-ring send-off they deserve... a House of Fun match at Slammiversary... but we shall see.

RVD and Willie Mack finally wrap up their feud... Mack way underperformed and it severely dragged the match down. DAMN. RVD can still bring it, and he'll transition into a new program, continuing to bully the younger generation, while flaunting his relationship with the young Katie Forbes. Also flashed a hint of Swann and Mack turmoil... that was merely to pop the audience (for now). Swann and Mack are both faces and I need them as faces. Post-Match, the goal was to begin to set-up some of the Slammiversary matches, naturally Willie Mack will now face TJ Perkins, but Chris Bey has a point and after Mack's bad performance I thought I might need a heel in the match as well and that point is that he merely lost in a battle of luck... no one pinned him... He'll find a way to keep himself relevant and in the X-Division Picture... that's what Finesser's do.

Sami Callihan and Jake Crist are the only members left of oVe... and Sami appears to be losing it. I used the original Impact hacker ICU gimmick to debut/introduce Raven and now Callihan's losing his mind, Reality is Lost is an extension of that, but it is more to continue moving him towards the tweener, lost his mind, loose cannon role instead of the bully leader of oVe role. His storyline for Slammiversary will become clear now that he's had a clean loss to Edwards in the main event.

MOOOOOSE... and his fictional TNA Heritage title continue to run through Impact's legends and its heritage. The ECIII theme playing afterwards is deliberate and the first real direct acknowledgment of a potential arrival for Slammiversary.

Taya and Rosemary's little relationship surrounding John E Bravo will continue to develop over time... it's a good way to keep both active without them needing to face all the other girls... plus Bravo is money.

The main event was a clean finish, and was the Match of the Night (and match of the first half of the year). Edwards and Callihan are the top two performers currently in the company and I could have saved this for Slammiversary and maybe I should have... damn. There is a sizable gap before we hit the next group. We are actively building that group, but the additions at Slammiversary should stabilize it. Originally my thought (way back when we started this) was that Slammiversary's main event would be Eddie Edwards vs. Michael Elgin vs. Tessa Blanchard vs. ??? (someone I'd bring in, probably ECIII honestly). But then of course Elgin and Blanchard decided to have some issues in reality and I struggle to book people I can't get behind... so change of direction led to this thought of replaying the Edwards/Austin feud, but this time for the World Title. Ace Austin is being built as a sleazy-heel but with some young HBK vibes, he'll steal your wife, sleep with your mom, do whatever he pleases to get under your skin... and he did just that last year when he has Eddie Edwards convinced that Ace had other intentions in his friendship with Alisha Edwards. So... that call out at the end of the match "You Still Know What I Did Last Summer" is very very intentional and it gives Alisha a story that doesn't involve her being the punching bag for the Knockouts division. Eddie meanwhile has been a fighting champ, but has been laid out after each of his defenses. Now he's got a clear focus on the main event of Slammiversary. In building new stars, we always most look to the future... While I'm bringing in new names, it was important to me that the main event for Slammiversary be obvious six weeks out from the event and that it feature two guys who have been here and aren't just magically showing up.

---------------------------------------

Other notes/news

The Pre-Show match wasn't a throwaway. Rohit Raju forcing his teammates (ex-teammates?) to stop the beatdown is the beginning of a face turn for Raju. He may have beaten the giants (Rhino and Hernandez) but he's needed a new path for a while and I had a great thought after I realized he, like Rhino, is from Michigan. That'll be clear in the coming TV episodes. Hernandez meanwhile can go back to mentoring The Deaners...

I have a plan to make Xplosion a bit more relevant, even as only a 30 minute show. I'm kicking around introducing more non-jobber characters down there, Kings Ransom and Kal Jackson are the first three and ultimately introducing a low-level, Xplosion title exclusively for Xplosion. Kinda like the old WCW Television title where lower names held it, but without the the bigger names capturing it. I'm thinking like Prince Iaukea type runs.

The_Lariat mentioned Kings Ransom as a possible challenger for The North, and I hadn't really thought of that a ton, but it actually makes some sense. They've been coming along nicely in their low-level beat-downs on Xplosion and Maximus and Leonis Khan both are putting up average match ratings, so there is some hope they could get over. I need an appropriate story for them and currently that's where I'm stuck. I did think about a early 2000's 3 Minute Warning type gimmick for them where they have a weasel-like leader who basically just sends them out to beat people up... Gladiator style (Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down... hmm... Callihan and Crist could use some new friends...)... They did come from Ohio Valley Wrestling... hmm... this is totally a loose train of thought... Going to do some digging here... this might actually make some sense.

So six weeks away from Slammiversary and we already know the framework for all four titles likely matches... I really wanted to have build-up that felt realistic and I think knowing the title matches six weeks out fits that for sure.

World: Eddie Edwards vs. Ace Austin

X: TJ Perkins vs. Willie Mack (and maybe Chris Bey)

Knockouts: Jordynne Grace vs. Tenille Dashwood vs. Deonna Purrazzo

Tag: The North vs. "Any Team That Has Previously Held A Tag Team Championship Anywhere in the World"

Plus, the framework is there for things like...

Moose vs. "Returning TNA Legend"

Raven vs. Tommy Dreamer

---------------------------------------

Predictions for Destination X:

Blodyxe: 5/6

Jayzon_Ink: 4/6

Powerbrock100: 4/6

Kijar: 5/6

Mattu29: 3/6

The_Lariat: 6/6

Nobby_McDonald: 3/6

Levinux: 3/6

Overall Predictions (Six Shows In):

Nobby_McDonald: 28/36 (+1)

Powerbrock100: 25/29 (+4)

Blodyxe: 23/28 (+4)

Kijar: 21/28 (+1)

Munit: 12/16

Olivertaylor276: 10/15 (+1)

The_Lariat: 16/21 (+1)

20Legend: 4/8

Levinux: 3/6

Mattu29: 3/6

Jayzon_Ink: 4/6

Officially decided that I'll have some "prizes" for the post-Slammiversary predictions. To keep things interesting. Anyone with more than 20 matches predicted will be eligible for the overall prize... and to keep things interesting... WHOMEVER gets the most correct (matches + bonuses) for just Slammiversary will be eligible for a prize as well; that way everyone has incentive to predict! Kicking around things, in the past (ROH diary) I've had people name a stable; choose a direction etc. I've also been inspired by Nobby's great "Bios" throughout his diaries and may do a prize like that. We will see, regardless, huge thanks to everyone who has predicted thus far.
