1. Booker T - YES! Nash... less so. Came in during a busy time, got a massive pop but only hit a couple of punches and a big boot before being 619'd out by Rey Mysterio. Mysterio got heat for it - he's verrry over. Also engaged in a staredown with Big Show on his way back up the ramp.
2. More news on Booker T and Nash - Booker has been signed to a long term contract. Initially the plan was to have him train workers and act as a manager, but after his spots (and the quality thereof) in the Rumble the high ups at the E are apparently considering using him in a full term capacity. Nash is on a short term contract, but has an option to stay for longer. So basically they could both be around for a while longer
3. Diesel's return is currently the Most Popular 'Sports' video on youtube.
4. Whoops. That'll teach me to go to a friends to just watch the Rumble. Ok, that's plausable. I'd still rather have Cena-Punk to blow off this year long Nexus angle they've been building.
5. Just seen the Rumble match... and hey, I liked it. A big improvement over last years that was very underwhelming take Punk's in match promo and Michaels' backstabbing. Just an alround fun match - my only complaint would be that Gabriel and Slater got rather... buried. Compared to the Nexus guys, Zeke and Barrett, they just turned up and got chucked out the ring. Lots of nostalgic/cool spots and a well worked match throughout. Forty men didn't drag as I expected it too - though the point that the Nexus are dominant OMGZ could've been done in a little less time. My main question now is WTF Cena's gonna do for Wrestlemania - that tossing all of Nexus including Punk looked a little like a blowoff, and him muttering 'he's done' concerning the Miz after that elmination... I'm a little sad to admit it, but that supports Cena facing Miz at WM for the WWE title instead of the Cena-Punk Nexus blow off. I hope that's not the case, though. On the returns - if they don't follow up on Diesel's and give him a throwaway title match on free TV soon they'll be fools - the crowd went absolutely nuts for him. And that's the first time I've heard Rey booed for years - clearly over despite his sins in TNA and the fact that he was largely used as a heel in his WWE run. The fact that beyond the big boot he didn't hit any big moves suggests that he could be here for a while. Conversely, Booker's return looked like a Legend getting his last run out - run in, hit signature moves, do a spinarooney, get tossed. Nice having you Booker, and I was grinning like a chump when the 'Can you dig it?!' hit, but I think we only see him again when he's inducted into the Hall of Fame. I hope I'm wrong, though. EDIT: Fantabulous, where'd you get Punk-Orton from?
6. So, how 'bout that episode of Smackdown last night? Quite the barnburner (minus the divas match) IMO.
7. I believe the fight will be a reserve fight when the contract is signed. SF have a verbal agreement but haven't set a date and all that technical jazz.
8.
Bracket is here via Bloody Elbow: http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2011/1/4/1913476/alistair-overeem-vs-fabricio-werdum-set-for-strikeforce-heavyweight

So it turns out that Fedor-Overeem would be a semi final fight. I guess they're hoping Fedor won't be a knob about negotiations and will tool Overeem double quick so they don't have to worry about negotiating a new contract mid tourney.

9. My scorecard for Frankie-Gray: Round 1: 10-8 Maynard - Absolute domination. I nearly gave him a 10-7, but Edgar finished well and landed something. Round 2: 10-9 Edgar - Almost a 10-8. That inverted double-leg was a thing of beauty. Round 3: 10-9 Edgar - Quicker to the punch and Maynard barely landed all round. Round 4: 10-9 Edgar - A takedown and a tight guillotine wins Edgar this. Round 5: 10-9 Maynard - But Gray comes back strong for the last round. His boxing was superior and Frankie could not get the takedown whenever he went for it. So I had it 47-47 and believe the decision of the judges to be correct. Just my opinion..
10. Chuck Liddell has now officially retired from active competition. He's got a desk job with the UFC as a present. Thanks for the memories, Iceman.
11. He said when Punk was champ, so it's gotta be last year. I can see how the mistake was made though
12. So we've got two whole Japanese NYE/NYEE events planned. Sengoku's Soul of Fight looks like more fun to me - Hatsu Hioki vs. Marlon Sandro for the right to claim they are the best Bantamweight outside of the UFC. And this just in - Alistair Overeem is set to fight Todd Duffee on K-1 Dynamite!! Which one are people more interested in? Full fight cards: Dynamite!! - the Overeem-Duffee fight is yet to be confirmed by SEG. Soul of Fight - Lots of good stuff besides the main - PLUS RYO CHONAN!!!!
13. Edge was injured a year ago, so strike him off. Orton was still being booked as a heet. BUT you can add HBK and HHH wasn't injured then. So you still have four, I guess.
14. And the best thing is that every recording is slightly different! That's my favourite as it has the song titles, but their most recent recording is longer and has a few more recent songs:
15. Lesson #1 - all modern music is the same. - mebbe not safe for work due to language.
16. I think this is a very silly decision personally. I don't pay stupid amounts of money every month for Sky in the UK, but can still watch 'E programming on youtube when the mood takes me. Ditto TNA. The NWA's new TV show isn't televised over here, and they let anyone who wants it have it for free on their website. If HDNet are paranoid about losing paying customers, put the video on ROH's website and region limit it so it can only be watched by visitors outside the US. As it is a lot of the world is deprived of some of the best wrestling action on TV every week, and this is a sad thing.
17. Scott Stamford and CM Punk are the best commentary team in the E right now. If this was TEW they'd get a Great chemistry note for sure... some of the stuff on Superstars last night was absolutely brilliant
18. Another rumour to circulate - Gareth A Davies has apparently tweeted (I can't see it) that Strikeforce are planning on bringing the Welterweight title clash between Nate Diaz and Paul Daley to the UK. Source: http://www.fullmount.co.uk/index.php/mma-news/1-latest-news/865-nick-diaz-vs-paul-daley-for-strikeforce-welterweight-title-in-the-uk
19. Renzo? Or failing the feud between Renzo and everyone else in the Gracie family being that deep, one of Renzo's students - Matt Serra, Ricardo Almeida...?
20. not sure he ever could've won unless Saki actually destroyed Reem's legs or ribs, but it might have lasted a little longer. To be honest Aerts looked defeated on his way to the ring - his head just wasn't in that fight.
21. This. I'd love A-O to win cos then he'll get back to beating people up MMA style, but I'm finding it very hard to cheer against Aerts. Worried about that eye though... it's going to be a great final
22. I was wincing all the way through that. *SPOILER BELOW* Saki's movement will be gone after that murdering. Reem had me worried in the first round but he came on strong and he's realll good at hitting stationary targets. Aerts looks good and Schilt just looked frustrated with Kyotaro's incessant running away. I've still got and Schilt-Overeem final. Not so sure that Ally will win now though. EDIT: That showing by Yusuke was probably the least impressive combat sports performance I've seen all year. EVEN worse that Audley Harrison. No shock he's retiring.
23. It's 7 for me so... Any idea which fight's up first?
