  1. Because it would have been TOTALLY possible to have 20 min matches when an 8 man tournament involves 7 matches. 7 x 20 = 140 mins = 2 hours and 20 minutes. There is opinion and then there is outright bias. Guess which one I think you have?
  2. TBH, I really would have liked to see Jack Evans in TNA rather than Austin Aries.
  3. I also think Sting is more Jim Carrey than Joker. I am enjoying it though.
  4. I think one thing some of you don't realize about the Cena thing is that we don't really know what he is capable of in the ring. We just don't know what moves he COULD do because the WWE has always had a certain way of doing their matches. The best example I can give is Hulk Hogan in WWE. Hulk Hogan's move list in WWE was basically (not completely limited to but pretty close) Punch, Kick, Body Slam, Clothesline, Legdrop. However, if you look up Hulk Hogan vs Great Muta on YouTube you can watch a match that I saw a few months back that happened in 1993. Hogan was actually capable of putting on a VERY GOOD match. He even does Del Rio's cross arm breaker from a standing start. It shocked the hell out of me because I never knew Hogan could do that stuff. WWE never showed it. But he could do it. And Cena could probably do most of the stuff you see in ROH matches if he was given the chance to by the WWE.
  5. I am going to be chastized for this but I always found Chavo to be OVERrated due to the fact that he is a Guerrero. He is a cruiserweight who wrestles like he thinks he is a 6'2" 240lbs guy. He isn't very good on the mic. His only worthwhile storyline was 'Kerwin White' and that was cut short because of Eddie passing away. It isn't like WWE didn't TRY to push him. He was the ECW World champion for Pete's sake. But even then, he wasn't up to par and they had Kane beat him at WM in 8 seconds. TNA would be a bad fit, and ROH would be even worse. He would be the 'WWE reject' in TNA. And ROH expects their wrestlers to be good at wrestling and I don't find Chavo enjoyable in the slightest as a wrestler. That's my opinion. I am alone in it. And that's okie.
  6. Everything he touched in ECW became wrestling GOLD. ECW went down because he didn't know how to manage money. It had nothing to do with his knowledge of wrestling.
  7. I would have been perfectly happy if HBK had won either time, or HHH for that matter. They were both stars on the same level as Taker. Both future HOF'ers at the time of their matches. Now, the only people left on Taker's level (or even close to) would be Cena and Orton. Cena winning would make ALOT of people pissed off. Orton on the other hand would still be able to benifit greatly from it and I don't think as many people would go ape-sh*t over it. The only other thing you could do would be to take someone who isn't epic levels of greatness yet but someone you know you want to groom that way and have him go over Taker. Someone like Swagger or Ziggler. Do it early enough in their careers and they can take that rub and run with it for several years.
  8. What does a new indy fed have to do with TNA? Just cuz it's being taped at Universal Studios? You are ============E (reaching)
  9. So a tag match with female wrestlers means that wrestling doesn't matter? That sounds like more of a personal problem than a TNA problem.... I happen to love the Knockouts. It's the best women's wrestling in the US outside of SHIMMER.
  10. I have been watching wrestling since 1985. There have been two moments in my viewing history that made me go HOLY ****. The 1st was Kevin Nash throwing Rey Mysterio Jr into the trailer during the first days of the original NWO. It was the first time since I was little and found out that wrestling was 'fake' that I actually 'marked out' at something. I just could not believe what Hall and Nash were doing. And of course Hogan turning heel and joining the NWO was just insane. The 2nd was the day that Shane McMahon announced that he had bought WCW out from Vince's nose. It was the 1st time I can remember calling up all my friends and being like "Are you watching this?!" Yeah, the whole Invasion thing turned out to be crap. But it sure as heck had the potenital to be bigger than anything that came before it.
  11. <p>Would it be totally insensitive if I said it can't be pregnancy cuz no one would want to have sex with Kharma? <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Yes, it probably would. So I won't say it. I will say though, if it IS the reason, it sure is bad timeing. She could have had a child first and then signed on with the WWE. Unless WWE are going to pay her while she is away, that would be genius.</p>
  12. <p>Hated that The Rock took up the whole first 30 minutes of the show for his b-day bs. I thought it was bad when Karen Angle took up 15 on last week's iMPACT but this was twice as long.</p><p> </p><p> Good match from Cena/Miz and a nice run in from Kharma.</p><p> </p><p> Still got 30 minutes left, but overall this Raw has been lacking. And its all The Rock's fault. Get his stupid ass off my tv until at least the Rumble. He is a self promoting d-bag. He isn't giving back anything to the business he claims to love. He is just taking up time that could be given to young talent.</p><p> </p><p> Speaking of young talent, I just saw Drew McIntrye straddling Jack Swagger in their ring entrance. That is just... eww. lol</p>
  13. I think he means when Don Callis was in TNA during the weekly PPV era. He was the manager for Abyss when he was fueding with Raven.
  14. This is a bit off topic but I really dislike when people talk about WWE cast offs like they are damaged goods. If I worked at Wal-Mart and they fired me, would you discourage me to work at K-Mart? It's a matter of working in the profession that you are trained in. If you trained to be a welder and you got fired at the factory you worked at, you wouldn't become an exile, you would move on to another job welding at another place. Long story short, there is nothing wrong with someone who used to be in WWE, working for another wrestling company. And people shouldn't call them cast offs, or rejects, or has beens. It's their chosen career.
  15. At one time, Trish was the most talented diva the WWE had. But that was years ago. Back then, wrestling was her passion. Today, it's not her passion. It makes a HUGE difference. Passion is what seperates someone like Carlito who didn't have it despite having the talent and someone like Edge who put everything he had into it. So sure Trish was the bigger star, but any current diva would have been better in that spot. WM makes careers. Putting Trish in there had about the same effect as having The Rock there. Or having Austin there. It's just nostalgia. And it has it's place in WM (like the HoF) but I really think having something like a Eve vs Natalia match for the Divas belt would have been better for the business.
  16. Internet popularity doesn't equal WWE success. Ryder already was doing a webshow directly on wwe.com a while back and that didn't give him any pushes. Sure it gave him the woo woo woo character but outside of a short fued with Christian on ECW, he's been nothing but a jobber with untapped potential. But trust me, I would LOVE a push for Ryder. He is one of my favorites along with Christian, Santino, and now Sin Cara.
  17. Is anyone following Street Fighter x Tekken and Tekken x Street Fighter? I know the release date is far off but just the idea is making me giddy like a school girl.
  18. I would actually be in favor of inducting Raven. And I doubt I would be the only one.
  19. Yeah I don't see how Bryan is a jobber either. He held the US title for several months and then lost it and lost a rematch. That's not being a jobber. I was a big O'Haire fan back in WCW and I liked his Devil's Advocate gimmick in WWE too. I think he left WWE to do MMA, but everything I remember from back then was that he got his ass kicked badly in his MMA bouts. Back to the Christian debate now. He was a 2 time TNA World Champion. He was a 1 time ECW Champion, which although not considered a 'world' title is probably somewhere under World but above IC/US titles. And when he got injured and since he has come back, he has been in a fued with Alberto Del Rio, a rising star, who if is not a main eventer now, certainly will be for years to come. What part of any of this doesn't scream big star to you? And it's not even just the titles, he was undefeated in TNA for 2 years, that's LONGER than Samoa's Joe famed streak. And in 'new' ECW it is arguable that no one was bigger than Christian during it's entire run. Add all that to TWO match of the year awards, one half of one of the greatest tag teams of all time with Edge, and the fact that he is better on the mic than 90% of the WWE roster.... this isn't even a debate anymore. Just sayin.
  20. You do know Christian was injured for several months, right? I mean, by this same argument, HHH was a no body until he finally had his match with Taker at WM27. You know, since he hadn't been in any big matches in the last several months.
  21. I'll preface this by saying I haven't read the thread up to this point. I am a big fan of the comedic puro feds like Dramatic Dream Team and Osaka Pro. I have multiple DVDs from each and always enjoy them. My favorite puro wrestler is Kikutaro who used to be known as Ebbesan. I have Kikutaro's best of DVD and it's great. He got to do a couple matches with Keiji Muto who was obviously his idol and their matches tag teaming together are awesome to watch. I also have DVDs from Sendai Girls. Joshi wrestling is way better than anything you see in America (except for SHIMMER which I also love).
  22. You should see all the hate on Twitter about WM27. It's insane. You wonder why so many people spent 60 bucks on something they hate so much. But anyway, here are my thoughts: Edge vs Del Rio was a good match. They did make Del Rio look bad with this though. I think they decided Del Rio wasn't ready for the Title yet. They are learning from past mistakes that rushing someone new to the top can damage their character. Look at Swagger/Sheamus/Ziggler. Each of them have World calibur titles to their name and look where each of them are right now. Also I wanted more Christian involvement but I guess I can live with it. Cody Rhodes beating Rey Mysterio was a shocker to me. I came into that match thinking there wasn't a chance in hell that Cody was going to win at WM against a former 2 time World champion. To be honest though, Cody came out of the match looking really good. Doesn't even matter that he used the brace to win, considering Mysterio used the face mask just a couple minutes earlier. The only problem is, they are now pushing TOO many young stars all at one time (see earlier arguement about Swagger/Sheamus/Ziggler). Orton vs Punk was MOTN up to this point (And was only beaten by HHH/UT later). Orton's stumble on the punt scared me for a minute. His leg looked like it went sideways at the knee. But after DVR went back a minute and I watched it again, he clearly clipped it with his other leg to make himself fall. The ending was okie, Punk made a REALLY stupid mistake doing the springboard and it made the end obvious. I guess this match worked so well to me for the ring psychology alone. Orton is a master in the ring, but you would expect that from someone who has spent so much time around HHH. The 8 man tag match was over in a heartbeat it seemed like. It's a shame. But at least Santino got in the cobra. They really should have made THIS the dark match and let me see Daniel Bryan on WM. HHH vs UT was no question the MOTN. Contrary to what other people have said, I DID believe at a couple points that HHH had it. Especially when he hit the tombstone. I was marking out big time. Once the Hell's Gate was locked in though, I knew that was the end. It was held on for a pretty long time though. When HHH got the sledge back into his hands I wondered if Taker was gonna get it in the head. And damn, I legit wondered if I was going to see Taker die in the middle of the ring after the match was over. They were checking his breathing and everything. And then he collapsed outside. I have no question that it was real. I know that is dangerous to see in pro wrestling but I believe it. Divas match was much better than anyone could have expected. Snooki doing the Muta backspring elbow was epic. Her finisher however was laughable. She SHOULD have splashed her with the flip, not splash her AFTER it. But still, way better than anyone would have thought coming from a celebrity. Main event was okie. They really should have put HHH vs Taker last. The video package with Miz like others have said was awesome. Personally I watched Mike Mizanin on the Real World and the various Real World/Road Rules challenges he did. I know how good of a guy he is irl. In a genre of tv where it's easy to be deceitful and backstabbing, Miz was always the good guy. And not in a scripted sort of way, he was genuine. Which makes 'The Miz' that much more impressive by the way he is able to make the crowds eat him up. He is by far the best heel in WWE right now and I am glad he kept his title. The way he kept it was less than stellar but it had to be done considering how much they probably paid Rock to make his WM appearance. Now I hope Rock goes back to Hollywood where he belongs cuz he is a no good sellout ******* who doesn't belong in a WWE ring with people who actually CARE about the fans and the other boys in the back. I apologize if I missed a match in there, I am going off of memory.
  23. Considering WWE is bringing back Tough Enough, signing Kenny King (who won TE2) would be a pretty good idea. Wouldn't hold my breath though.
