  1. Trust me, it's not Jericho coming back. He made VERY clear in a rude tweet that he is sick of wrestling and it's fans and he never wants to get another tweet concerning wrestling. I told him via tweet that he can kiss most of his followers goodbye since we, the wrestling fans, have PAID for him to live the way he has become accustomed to. I never thought I would find someone in the business that I would hate more than The Rock, but I think I found him.
  2. And that's why I love Indie wrestling. Also why I love Japanese wrestling. And what little Mexican Lucha I've been able to see. WWE might be slowly going in that direction though. The backlash from removing 'wrestling' from their product was pretty bad. And now we got people like Daniel Bryan and CM Punk as World Champions.
  3. lol Super Calo. He was the Sabu of luchadores. Botched at least once in every match he ever had. At least in WCW.
  4. Was that Smiley and KISS Demon (aka Dale Torborg)? I don't remember that team, but I can guess from the name. I was a big fan of Norman Smiley in WCW. He was the Santino of his time. Very talented in the ring but choose to spend his time entertaining the fans and giving them a good laugh instead of being serious and putting on 4 star matches. You know, if WWE brought back the Hardcore Title, I could see Santino having that same gimmick of being Hardcore champion but being afraid of anything hardcore related.
  5. I agree with the majority assessment of Chavo as a decent mid-carder who put on decent matches. Which is the only reason I found him to be piss-poor as the major titleholder of a brand. I realize the "ECW" Title wasn't a WORLD title. It was just slightly above IC and US Title level. But TBH, I never found Chavo worthy of the IC or US belts either so that explains my opinion on him as WWECW champion. I liked his short lived gimmick as Kerwin White. It actually would have been nice to see where that could have led if Eddie hadn't passed away and forced WWE to change him back to Chavo to 'honor' Eddie by putting on boring matches and getting a cheap pop with the Frog Splash.
  6. <p>I too was a big fan of WWECW. It was a great place for people who wouldn't otherwise see time on Raw or Smackdown to develop. Johnny Nitro became John Morrison. Zack Ryder got his first real taste of the big time with a great feud against Christian right before it went off the air. Christian himself established himself as a World Title contender in WWE by winning and holding the WWECW Title longer than anyone else. And of course big Zeke the last WWECW champion.</p><p> </p><p> The only bad thing WWECW gave us was WWECW Champion... Chavo? #areyouseriousbro</p>
  7. I've always liked Regal, but Ambrose is the one I thought looked better on the mic. I've been a big fan of him since his Indy days. I haven't seen alot of his in ring work but he is SO into his character that you wonder if maybe he isn't acting.
  8. <p>I think it was a test. They wanted to see how a crowd would react to him winning the belt. This is both good and bad.</p><p> </p><p> It's good because the crowd ate it up. So obviously from a popularity standpoint, Bryan is ready to be the champion.</p><p> </p><p> It's bad because when he does eventually win the belt, it won't have the same magic to it anymore because it's been done before (even if it was taken back).</p>
  9. I am completely biased on this based on the fact that Disco Inferno is my all time fav wrestler but.... WTF? Disco was a multiple time T.V. champ, a former cruiserweight champ, a former tag team champ. He was shortly even a member of the Wolfpac!
  10. I think you severely underestimate both TNA and AJ Styles. TNA isn't some small company that doesn't draw. Its the 2nd biggest wrestling company in America. It's the only company outside of the WWE that can afford to take on prolonged tours outside of the US. And AJ Styles I would argue IS TNA. If I was told to tell you the 1st person that came to mind when I heard the name TNA, Styles would be it. And I would also argue that he is the 1 guy that they need more than anyone else. He has been the top guy in the early days. He has been the workhorse of the X Division when it was JUST as popular as the World Title picture. Then he went to the forefront of the main event again, even going as far as being #1 in the PWI 500 in 2010. At this moment, he isn't in the Title picture. But this isn't anything bad on his side. They are giving some new faces some main event time. People like Storm and Roode who DESERVE it. People who have come up in the company just like Styles from the ground up. People who earned their spot and shouldn't be tossed aside like you would have them be. I won't change your mind, but now at least you know I am serious about this.
  11. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="lazorbeak" data-cite="lazorbeak" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25170" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Honestly TNA needs to realize that a character only has a limited shelf-life. Guys like AJ, Joe, Abyss, etc., have done everything they're gonna do in this company. They've won every title, feuded with everyone, and as-is, they're not big enough "names" to work a reduced schedule or be an attraction match on their own. Maybe they go to Japan or WWE and struggle- worst case, they come back to TNA and they're in exactly the same position they're in now, but hopefully have a few new faces to work with.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Because when you home-grow your talent and make them stars, the next thing you should do is let them go so they can become even bigger stars somewhere else...</p>
  12. Personally, I would LOVE to see Santino and Ryder as a long term tag team. Either one can make a good midcard title holder as Santino has done and Ryder is getting ready to do, but who wouldn't laugh their ass off at a pairing of the 2 funniest guys on the roster? Plus there is the added bonus that both can actually wrestle.
  13. 1. Zack Ryder 2. Christian 3. Santino Marella 4. Dolph Ziggler 5. CM Punk and the divas 1. Beth Phoenix 2. Kelly Kelly (VERY underrated) 3. Natalya
  14. As shallow as it sounds, my future interest in TNA is going to hinge on whether or not they do the right thing and allow Roode to win the World title.
  15. I DO see Kelly as a legit champion. And not just because she beat Beth twice. I'm sure most of you didn't notice cuz you are against women wrestling in general but Kelly has improved leaps and bounds over the last couple years. She is becoming the modern day Trish Stratus. Trish wasn't a wrestler when she came in, she was a model. And look where she got to. Give Kelly a chance before you crap on her.
  16. I couldn't agree less. Edge was a midcarder for a decade and then they turned the swtich on him and he was an instant Main Eventer who won 11 World Titles. JBL was a midcarder for a decade and they pushed him directly to Main Event and it worked. He became one of the best Heels the WWE has ever had. Morrison, as used in your example, is still very young. It's way too soon to start saying he has lost his chance at superstardom. WAY too soon.
  17. It is always hard to see the next big thing as anything more than a midcarder when all they have done is be a midcarder up to that point. I.E. I HATED JBL as a Main Eventer when they first thrust him upon us as a singles wrestler. In fact both me and my best friend at the time said that if JBL won the World Title against Eddie at whichever PPV it was that we would quit watching Smackdown for good. Well, JBL won, and we kept watching. And little by little he grew on me and eventually I considered JBL not only to be main event worthy but one of the best Heels WWE has ever had. So while it's hard to see people like Dolph, Swagger, Kofi, Morrison as main event type wrestlers right now, some day those are going to be the guys who headline WWE PPVs and they will look just as strong as people like Cena, Punk, Orton, etc do now.
  18. Going back a little bit to the guy who wondered if X-Pac could still wrestle. He wrestled as the 1-2-3 Kid at a CHIKARA event a couple of months ago and he (IMO) looked better than ever. Plus from what I heard, his attitude was spotless. Seems getting Chyna out of his life has done wonders for him.
