I also signed Hell's Bouncer to be a big bruiser heel for me down the line. Thats the only signings i've made to RIPW. Didn't sign anyone else for the main roster.

I actually increased all my PPVS from 2 hours & 30 minutes to 3 hours! I also increased my weekly TV Show from 2 hours to 2 hours & 30 minutes! I just felt like I needed more time with so many guys that I wanna push + so many feuds, I've got like 12 running right now!

I did frequently expand my TV and PPV times on 2016 but I am really trying to avoid it this year. I will probably end up doing it once I am more familiar with how to book/got everyone more over. Which is tough going. I seem to be losing everyone popularity with how I've been booking. Think I may restart now I hit the 2 months and see how I do again.

 3. Oh wow, just got to my second PPV and Golden offered to put over Scythe to get him to the next level! its good for 2 matches in the next 2 months! I had Golden go over at the first PPV and had no plans to take the belt off him but now i am thinking i should take up the offer. I do want Scythe to be more over as a lot of the guys under Remo and Golden are just too far away in pop to be credible threats. I did have a plan for once the full game came out to do Smasher Vs Golden for the title, but i could do it without? With Smasher still playing his fallen hero character, I could have him mess with Golden, claim the fans see him as a villain, join the darkside etc? Could be like Cena Vs Kane but actually booked well. But what would i do with Scythe? Valiant Vs Scythe or Gilmore Vs Scythe and keep the belt on Scythe until Supreme Challenge? Golden Vs Scythe 3? What do you guys think?
 4. Yeah it's definitely a different grading system to get used to. Yeah I guess decline would be an issue too? It's interesting because time decline isn't in the creative department anymore, so it's hard to tell how far workers are in decline now. And depending on the roll, they both could be 5-10 years potentially. Not sure about you but at the PPV I pulled an 82 and week 3 TV an 84. Took some WWE tier multi man tag match booking but i got there. Didn't mean anything because I'm in the shocked phase after falling to medium anyway.
 5.
Well i certainly have been finding it hard to book SWF so far. Fell to medium after week 2's TV, which i accepted because the wrestling industry on my save is at 15 and falling still. But my TV ratings have been honestly awful, i got at 61 week 1, and 71 week 2. The broadcaster requires 81! i always find it hard to book quality main events at the beginning of a save, maybe I'm not the only one who has that trouble?

On a positive note, i came up with a storyline I'm quite proud of very early on in the save.I decided to chuck Atom Smasher and Angry Gilmore into a feud to accomplish a few things.

1. To use more higher overness talent in storylines so they would hopefully bump my grades.

2. Get some use of of Smasher's Midas Touch that he starts with.

3. Having Gilmore start to put over some talent as it seems from his bio he's pretty much always going to be in decline now (which i'm very upset about because his presence in SWF always seemed vital to me as guy who was a great in ring worker, which isn't as important in SWF i guess).

Atom Smasher started targeting Gilmore as he was the next "villain" that needed to be taken out of SWF. I'm playing Smasher as if he's a hero gone wrong, someone who now doesn't know right from wrong and sees everyone except for himself as evil. I always like to comic book aspect to his character so it makes sense that his heel turn is a classic hero's downfall type. I ran the PPV and they only got an 82 however. Which i was hoping for more but there was a ding for both being in decline, so now i don't know whether to push Smasher still. Seems like he could be perfect to feud with Golden next.

Anyone got any good stories, matches etc since they started?

 6. Been a while since i posted here but hopefully someone can understand what i'm going through. I finally started replaying TEW on my WWF montreal aftermath save. In June 99, four weeks away from KOTR. I don't know if all the new announcments for TEW 20 are making it impossible for me to just sit down and play or if this save is now just "complete" due to no competition from WCW. I have a problem when i play that makes me bid hard for the Hogan's of the world but once I have them, i want WCW to be more competitive! Hogan has been on holiday since Mania, so I don't really use him much. He turned half the locker room against Austin, who is my figurehead, so he's already doing damage backstage. I honestly wish he'd go to Japan or something but if i release him he just goes to WCW again and my competitive side won't let such a big name go there. I recently ran Over The Edge 99 and it did really well. I'm constantly pulling shows 90+ but not quite hit the 100 show, although some matches have on previous PPV's. I will run down the card but won't go into detail about storylines unless anyone is interested, just because it would turn into a mammoth post. babyfaces first and winners bolded! Hardy Boyz Vs Reformed Nation (Mark Henry and D'lo Brown) rating 69 The Big Show© Vs Jeff Jarrett for the European Title. rating 81 Mankind Vs Kurt Angle (think i might have debuted him early so he's close to main event already) rating 97! Owen Hart © Vs Sid Vicious for the IC title. Rating 81 Rock & Shamrock Vs Brothers of Destruction. Rating 99 Steve Austin and APA Vs DX (HHH, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg). Rating 94. I knew in my gut that the semi main would probably beat the main but Austin is champ and even if the belt isn't defended, i still put the champion on last. So is anyone else suffering from TEW 2020 being on the horizon? Do i keep going with this game and look for inspiration or maybe start a different game completely, either CVerse or different mod? How is everyone keeping themselves into 2016?
 7. Yeah that's basically it. I've got the storyline sorted now, in part thanks to you. I had Sid as a part of my version of the Corporate Ministry; but he's basically been a fall guy (despite this he keeps an enormous 90 pop US wide and I don't know why). I had already been looking to separate him from the Corporate Ministry without turning him babyface, so I had the Ministry beat him down on RAW after he lost again to Mankind. The next week I had him come out and practically kill Kane in a match, then bully Shane McMahon into putting him into the WWF Title match at Survivor Series so he can gain revenge against Mankind and Undertaker. That way he's still heelish, because everyone is still behind Mankind, but he also has reason to be at loggerheads with his former stable. He will also get some mileage as I'll have him hold the belt till WM15 where he will drop to Austin, who will win the RR. And I'll probably do Mankind Vs Taker at WM to blow off their massive feud. Austin and Taker will probably face off at RR 1999, then Austin will somewhat stop feuding with McMahon and co. until he regains the belt.
 8.
Well I have a booking conundrum and this post may go on for a while but I'm hoping for a bit of help to get on of a tricky situation.

As a bit of background info, I'm playing the Montreal Aftermath mod. I'm in November 98 (almost a year into the save) playing as WWF. At WM14, much like real life, HBK dropped the belt to Steve Austin, then rode off into the sunset and retired. Austin held the belt until KOTR, when he goes off on tour with his new band! All good, I knew it was coming, and dropped it to a heel Undertaker, who is apart of my take on the Corporate Ministry. I've basically since KOTR (So Summerslam 98 till Survivor Series 98) had Mankind in a Steve Austin-esque role of fighting the Corporation but he's not won the WWF title when he got shots at Summerslam and Judgment Day. The plan was Always to do the eventual Austin-Taker rematch for the WWF Title, with Austin gone due to a very serious kayfabe injury at the hands of Kane and Undertaker.

My booking problem essentially comes in here. The first PPV Austin will be back and available for is Royal Rumble 99. There is option A that Austin gets a title opportunity thanks to babyface Authority Figure Shane McMahon as soon as he returns, and wins the belt here. It is the option I'm leaning towards (I just to cover all bases, see what you guys think and see if my concerns are valid). The aforementioned concern with this option is I would have a Babyface title holder going into Wrestlemania, which means I'd ideally need a heel to win the Royal Rumble. I personally don't like booking heels to chase into WM, and I wouldn't really know who to put in there, because Austin probably wouldn't be losing. Option B would be to have Austin to win the RR and face Taker at WM, but then I'd be killing Taker's streak, which I also don't want. Or I'd have a heel win at WM.

Then there is the issue of Austin and his band. He will essentially go on tour 5 months at a time. Thats a long time to be away, and he will have to drop the belt everytime he goes. There is a part of me thinking maybe Austin shouldn't win it back at all, considering I don't even know how long he will be around.

What would you guys do? Put the belt on Austin at RR or WM? Or not at all?

 9. Ok, cheers for that. If that is the case that really changes my game up, because I don't want to hotshot the title every 5 months.
 10. sorry this might have been asked before, but there's so many posts here I thought I'd ask again just in case anyone else is wondering. When a wrestler comes back from a touring with their band (in my case Steve Austin of all people formed a band!), how long can I expect him to stick around? Is there some sort of restriction on how often he can tour? Or within a certain amount of time? I don't want to put the WWF title on him for him to again change my booking plans if he goes off to tour so soon after getting back, if that makes sense.
 11.
Well I haven't played TEW in a long time until a few nights ago. Finally getting back into it (probably at the worst time due to uni etc). Here is some updates about my WWF Montreal aftermath game.

Just ran KOTR 98. Austin is leaving in 9 days to go on tour with his band so I had him drop the title to Undertaker in a 4 way involving Kane and Sid also. Kane and Sid have a loose alliance, Taker and Austin (both faces) were strictly lone wolves. Vince had taken the standpoint of anyone is better than Austin as WWF champion, some he made himself the special referee and was seen constantly communicating with Paul Bearer, Kane and Sid. When the match came around, Austin was already questioning whether Undertaker was as lone wolf as he claimed. Vince ended up fast counting Austin, who had already taken a massive bump off the stage, to hand the belt to Undertaker. Taker just walked out with the belt, with no celebration or confirmation that he was working with McMahon.

The next night on RAW, Mankind returned from an injury to claim that he has proof of Undertaker colluding with McMahon, Paul Bearer and Kane! This led to Mankind facing Kane in the main event where he was attacked by Sid also. Undertaker came out, Sid and Kane left the ring, and Undertaker tombstoned Mankind, cementing his heel turn.

I'm envisioning some version of the Corporate Ministry but with less Corportion members and not as bloated. Probably just Vince, Paul Bearer, Undertaker, Kane and Sid. Mankind will be feuding with them basically on his own until Austin returns (no idea how long he'll be away for yet) and i'm thinking he might win the belt at Royal Rumble off Undertaker and Rock wins the Rumble to set up Rock Vs Austin.

In other also big news, Hogan signed with us. Cost me a lot of money but now i'm easily beating WCW in the national battle. However, he is already causing me a lot of bother. He and Austin now hate each other, and he turned a decent portion of the locker room against Austin. Luckily Austin will be away for a while but god damn I won't settle for Hogan politicking Austin out of the main event. I am salivating at the idea of Hogan Vs Austin down the line though. Hogan is currently teaming up with Rock to take on heels DX (HHH, NAO, X-PAC) but I envision one of them turning on the other at some point. Annoyingly, Both have recently turned so I don't know how long I have to put it off. Rock probably needs to be heel for WM15 to face Austin, Hogan eventually needs to be heel because his red and yellow schtick is not particularly fun to book when he's such an asshole backstage! So that is my dilemma but the game is super fun so far!

 12. Taking a break from WCW lives and giving the Montreal Aftermath a go as WWF. Booked In Your House 97 with the main event as Shamrock and Austin Vs Rock and HBK. Royal Rumble is coming up and just booked the last RAW of 1997. The main event was Triple H Vs Mankind (Mankind is feuding with Kane and Undertaker, with Undertaker going to turn heel at Royal Rumble and align with Kane and Paul Bearer. Triple H is feuding with Austin and Shamrock alongside Rock, HBK and Vince.) Mankind tore his cruciate ligaments in the main event, and called an audible to put Triple H over via pinfall when he was supposed to get a DQ victory with interference by Kane. So Triple H got a rub he wasn't originally going to have and now my angle with Undertaker and Kane doesn't really have a babyface for Taker to turn on. So my idea now is for Sid to return as a Paul Bearer guy and align with Kane against Taker instead, keeping him face in the process. Mankind is out for 5 months, so he's going to miss Mania but he will come back with an built in storyline against DX once HBK has lost the WWF title. Not sure if HBK is going to be forced to retire like in real life or not, but if he is then HHH will get an even bigger push.
 13. Well i'm coming up on 2 years in my WCW lives game now. Probably one of the longest games I've done and I'm not finished yet by a long shot! Just ran Spring Stampede 2003, not going to break down the card because I don't really know if anyone reads it and it takes me a while, but I will say it went very well. Scored a 93 overall, which for a secondary PPV is very good indeed. I did run some big matches though, Cena and Konnan headlined for the second PPV match for the WCW title, Punk shockingly defeated Sting with some help from Samoa Joe, RVD got his win back from Steiner, leveling it up to 1-1 between the two and Booker T and Kanyon but on an amazing 98 rated match for the US title, which Booker retained. Hogan, Goldberg and Misterio all fought in the middle of the card, defeating Joe, Steen and Castagnoli in a 3v3 match. Kanyon is a ratings machine, consistently putting on the best matches at the top of the card. IF he didn't have a hard drug problem, he might have won the WCW title already. For now, he will continue to put on great matches while I hope to get him clean. CM Punk is getting well into the main event scene from this massive stable rivalry he's been the primary beneficiary of. He's currently say on 85-88 pop US wide depending on the area. If only he had a tiny bit more SQ (currently 86) then he would be at Cena level. Definitely valuable for the long term though, with Hogan, Sting and Scott Steiner all 40 and above. A lot of contracts came up in April. I had to give Booker creative control, which along with Hogan and Sting makes him the third guy to have it. Doesn't bother me too much because he's not a negative personality so a simple protect note will suffice if I need him to lose (same with Sting). I lost Rick Steiner to WWE but I really didn't put much of a fight up to keep him. He's in decline, but he always had a spot in storylines with Scott if I needed to. I didn't lose anyone else, and I managed to snag Matt Hardy away from WWE but unfortunately Jeff decided to stay. So I am thinking of bringing Matt in with a bizarre gimmick similar to his Broken character, but more of a psychic type thing. Haven't got it 100% worked out but I feel like he needs to be different to survive on his own as I honestly did want both the Hardys. With Austin now retired, WWE is lagging 200 points behind in the national battle. If I didn't have Hogan, I imagine the gap would be much closer. Goldberg is also a massive help, and if he gets more over (he's currently 90 US wide) I think he will surpass Hogan as the number 1 guy in the national battle score. Hogan has lost a few points in SQ now due to decline, but luckily Cena, Sting, Booker, Steiner and Punk are all somewhat capable, so maybe I will soon be able to withstand losing Hogan. The real problem is going to be getting him to put some guys over.
 14. another update incoming from my WCW 2003 game. Hopefully people are interested and apologies for posting a lot! I just unexpectedly rose to international! WWE are now Global also, so they're still ahead but i'm gaining very quickly. I made the call (and this wasn't to sabotage WWE but more to get them to build new talent and for realism) to retire Austin using the in game editor after Wrestlemania 19. His last match wasn't even at Wrestlemania because he wasn't booked on the card, but on Smackdown as part of Two Man Power Trip, defeating Benoit and Kane. Not exactly the most fitting ending for the biggest draw in WWE history. Now I've got international I am planning on signing a few Japanese talents I couldn't before, to help boost my profile over there. I'm thinking of doing a Japan only event sometime in the year, and only showing it on my Japanese PPV carrier. Its one of the areas that inadvertently helped me hit international because i ran a couple of Nitro's over there for fun. So i'm going to try and take it to NJPW and AJPW as well as WWE! Canada surprisingly is not one of my good areas, so I will look to run some shows up there soon.

Hes younger so would make sense to join the straight edge to possibly rid the WCW of the oldies.....also picture the scene, 4v4 the match is nearing the end with the faces looking at winning, Rey is getting ready to do a 619 on punk and BOOM Goldberg wipes him out with a spear as he turns to run to the ropes, Hogan and sting look shocked and BOOM Hogan gets speared, Sting goes to fight Goldberg but the odds are against him punk hits the GTS and gets the win and him and Goldberg stand in the centre of the ring arms aloft with the other two members looking at the broken and fallen "heroes"

I like the idea of turning Goldberg now you've put that idea into my head... And it actually makes more sense to me with the aqe thing coming into play. I may go ahead and do this. The only problem would be Goldberg has only debuted fairly recently too, so I would have to keep this feud going a fair while. Hopefully I can turn him by the time it comes to an end. I'll keep you updated.

With regards to this one any chance of bringing in Rick Steiner? somehow using him? maybe have RVD snap in a match and batter Scott with a chair, you know finshers the whole works, rick comes out to stop him and talk sense into him, following show scott wants to thank rick but actually turns on him for interfering in his business and that he don't need no stinking help to take care of RVD? something like that. maybe even then get Buff involved?

I like the idea, however RVD is the babyface in this feud, Steiner the heel. Rick has also been feuding with Scott recently quite a bit. From recollection they've had 6 PPV matches against each other in my game, they've had a storied personal rivalry. Buff has been fired also, pinged for steroids too many times. But he is on my shortlist to bring back if I had something for him because I think my firing had a positive effect on him, so he might have kicked them now. Maybe Rick is the key though, maybe somehow I could fashion in a Steiner Brothers reunion? Maybe Rick turns heel again and sides with his brother, blood thicker than water etc? Maybe I use that first part of your idea, RVD snaps for some reason, Rick sees it and helps his brother? Doesn't seem heelish though?

 16.
WCW 2003 has been explosive to say the least. We've come in hard at the start of the year and gone national again (industry is on the upturn and we're well clear of the importance needed) and its neck and neck again between us and WWF. I'm going to be about 5 points behind because Cena defeated Goldberg and RVD in a triple threat at Superbrawl and Goldberg's pop went down. We were actually beating WWF in score just before our rise.

The biggest storyline in the company has undoubtedly been the rise of Straight Edge Society. They have run rampant over the roster this year, but are facing their biggest foes yet; the team of Hulk Hogan and Sting. Along with Rey Misterio, whose had the longest history fighting the faction and was at one point fighting all four members alone, the three men took on three members of SES which ended up being Punk, Steen and Samoa Joe, in a 3v3 at Superbrawl. Punk shockingly managed to pick up the victory, pinning Rey while Hogan and Sting were distracted outside. Punk has promised his followers unlimited power once they topple Sting and Hogan for good. Things have taken a bad turn for them the following Nitro though, with Rey, Sting and Hogan revealing a fourth partner to finally even the score... Goldberg! Fresh off his WCW title match loss, Goldberg has been talked into fighting for WCW's babyface group (I don't have a name for the alliance, anyone want to suggest one?) by Sting, Sting claiming that WCW needs his help now more than ever. This will lead to a 4v4 elimination match and possibly a War Games for their careers at the feud's end. I eventually want this to lead to either a Sting heel turn or a Hogan heel turn. Sting can turn at any time so thats good, plus it would be something hugely unexpected. It would also set up a great Goldberg-Sting rivalry. Hogan can't turn yet because of how recently he debuted (less than a year ago) but from a character/personality standpoint I think he would be great turning on the babyfaces and joining SES! It would be just like NWO all over again, and i've been having him cut promos referencing how he's changed etc. It would have mega heat. I can even use Hogan joining as the reason for Punk or Joe leaving (either Punk for being replaced as leader or Joe for being pushed out as the right hand man). So I don't know what to do because there's compelling reasons for both, but I'm loving the fact I have options and a hot story that doesn't involve the WCW title. Any suggestions on which way to go?

Real quick on the WCW title, Cena defeated RVD and Goldberg at Superbrawl so that has ended the rivalry there. RVD can come back at any moment because he never got a 1v1 rematch so I feel like that can be used whenever. Right now however I want to give Cena a good run and some opponents who are a threat to his title, but can work and probably won't complain about losing (Hogan, Goldberg; looking at you). So Konnan, finally proving he can win the big singles matches in his feud with Jeff Jarrett, is now the number 1 contender. Its an almost underdog type story, and I envision a mega heel Cena laughing off Konnan's chances before he gets anywhere near him.

RVD is feuding with Scott Steiner, over who deserves the next title match after Konnan, but i'm looking for some inspiration on how to make it more personal to keep them both away from the title scene for now.

 17.
Short update in my WCW 2003 game. Just after Starrcade another round of comprehensive drug testing occurred. This resulted in RVD, Kanyon, Mike Awesome, Scott Steiner, Chuck Palumbo and Bambam Bigelow all being suspended. Lex Luger and Buff Bagwell were fired after one too many mishaps, as well as being completely expendable.

Currently in the Nitro after Sin. Cena retained against Goldberg in a solid match. Had to use the scripted note again and the match was penalised for a lack of selling but it went well, getting an 86.

Hogan didn't even make the card, being somewhat isolated on the card because of the suspensions to main event heels. I have now inserted him into the Misterio Vs Straight Edge Society storyline, where I see a potential singles match between Hogan and Punk. Punk has been doing well, him and Rey got an 86 in their match at Sin so the feud will continue.

Konnan and Jeff Jarrett have been working a feud, Konnan is now working as a main event singles babyface after Hugh Morrus asked for his release a while back, and yeah the match did very well at Sin, scoring an 89. Jeff basically doesn't think Konnan has what it takes without a tag team partner to have his back, and Konnan is out to prove him wrong. If the next match does well, Konnan will probably get to work the next program with Cena (and lose of course, but I think it's an honour to be the next guy after Goldberg to work with the champ!)

Booker T and Ken Shamrock are feuding for the US title. I don't envision Booker holding the title forever, I really want him back up the card now his SQ is decently high. I think Booker will replace RVD as the number 3 babyface behind Goldberg and Hogan. Better known as the babyface who can work! RVD will drop down the card a bit after his year long title reign, as a bit of punishment for all the times he popped for pot when he was WCW champ and I couldn't afford to suspend him.

 18.

Dream Match

It has Starrcade 2003 rematch for the WCW title all over it! But seriously, I hope Singh has a decent SQ because then I will actually use him even if he can't work.

 19.
Well 2002 is done and dusted, and with it Starrcade 2002 on new years eve. The show did well, not as well as I hoped (particularly the main event but I'll get to that) but it did do well from a financial and popularity growth perspective. Its a pretty big card so I'll try to keep it as brief as possible. As always faces will be first and winners bolded.

Shane Helms © Vs Chris Hero Vs Shane Douglas Vs Christopher Daniels for the WCW Television Title. Something I forgot to mention in my last post was that I bought back the TV title. After getting rid of the cruiserweight division I felt like I was missing that 4th title so I opted to bring that back in November 2002. Helms won the tournament, beating an impressive Daniels in the final. Helms knocked out Douglas in the semi-finals and both heels didn't give up so easily, becoming increasingly bitter about Helms. Hero debuted on the Nitro after Mayhem and looked to stake his claim to the TV title, but came up short against Daniels thanks to a dirty pin. This set the scene for the fatal four way. I personally think the belt is too low for Helms, who i want to be working at a slightly higher level. He's been lost in the shuffle since losing his US title to CM Punk back in the summer of '02. Douglas is going to hold the belt for now, as I try to build up Hero and Daniels in their own feud, Douglas will probably feud with someone else. Rating 73.

Goldust Vs Samoa Joe. Since re-debuting as Goldust (I personally couldn't see Dustin Rhodes as anything else, decided to give him the weird gimmick again), he has been feuding with Straight Edge Society. SES have been targeting him and Booker for both having a history with drugs. Punk has been cutting scathing promos on them, questioning why they both got so many chances. Goldust took issue with Joe in particular, who seemed to take a sick pleasure in beating him down. With Punk and Booker locked in the steel cage, Joe accepted the challenge at dealing with Goldust once and for all. Joe did face off with Goldust at Mayhem and was victorious thanks to Steen and Castagnoli, but this time Goldust managed to roll up Joe for the win. Think this feud will continue into the new year. Rating 82.

Ric Flair Vs Kanyon. In the surprisingly best match of the night, Kanyon finally put Flair out, winning again and possibly ending Flair's career. While there was no official retirement stipulation, Flair had been talking about what a loss here would mean to him in the lead up, telling the fans he may not be able to continue at this level anymore. He lost in a fantastic match for someone who is 16 years into a decline, which is why this was so low down the card, despite Kanyon being possibly the best main event worker in the company. Kanyon will go onto feud with new singles star Konnan (Bill Demott asked for his release and got it), while Flair will possibly move into managing, but I will probably put him on vacation after some angle at Nitro. Rating 91.

Air Raid Vs Noble & Bigelow Vs Palumbo & O'Haire© in a ladder match for the WCW Tag Team Titles. In the culmination of a few months of feuding, the three teams finally faced off in a ladder match for the belts. I envisioned this as a TLC match but Bam Bam is to broken down to work that high risk of a match to it was switched. I put the belts on Styles and Paris because i think they both have a good future ahead of them. Palumbo & O'haire not so much, they just float around as a tag team to use when i need to. Rating 73.

Rey Misterio Vs Jeff Jarrett. What started out as a "friendly" challenge by Jeff to Rey quickly became heated. Jarrett was 'impressed' by Misterio's victories over DDP, and wanted to test himself against Rey. The fans weren't buying it and were quickly vindicated when Jeff cheated and low blowed Rey for a victory at Mayhem. Misterio has been constantly hassling him for a rematch since, desperate to prove he can hang with the main eventers like Jarrett. He got his match from Bischoff as well as the victory. I had to protect Jarrett into taking the pin so I didn't put this on too late, but it did well, and hopefully Misterio can push on. Rating 80.

Hulk Hogan Vs Scott Steiner. In what I saw as the halfway point of the show, Hogan pinned Steiner in a better than expected match. Steiner returned to WCW just after Mayhem after being in rehab. He ruthlessly attacked Hogan, resuming the rivalry that was in progress before his departure. He cut promos in the build up claiming that Hogan shouldn't be in the new WCW because he almost killed the company the first time. Hogan told the fans he has changed, he is just back to good old red and yellow Hogan, and regrets his first run in WCW. Hogan picked up the win here, as he's vital to our national battle score if we rise to national again. Steiner is also, but he will get his popularity back at some point. Rating 87.

Chavo Guerrero Vs Giant Singh. Used as a cooldown match, Chavo was felled by the massive mountain known as Giant Singh (Great Khali). Just trying to get him over enough, but also putting him with some decent workers in the hopes he's better than in WWE. Rating 51.

Bill Goldberg Vs Diamond Dallas Page Vs Ken Shamrock for the number 1 contender spot to the WCW title. In a match based more on opportunity than rivalries, Goldberg has cemented himself as the next number 1 contender. There is some real life heat between Goldberg and Shamrock as Goldberg caused Shamrock an injury in a botched move on Nitro a month ago. This has led to some tension but seems to have bought out the best in both men. DDP weighed down the match due to his advancing time decline so it hurt the rating some. He probably won't ever work at this level again. Rating 77.

Booker T © Vs CM Punk for the WCW United States Title in a steel cage match. Booker beat CM Punk for the title at Mayhem, but Punk demanded his rematch for the belt to be at Starrcade, so he can show the stupid fans in Atlanta exactly what he's made of. As i explained before with Goldust and Samoa Joe, this feud has been around Booker's steroid use in the past. Punk questioned why Booker was given another chance, as well as how Booker has become some ripped recently. Booker however is 100% clean and motivated to beat down SES and shut Punk up once and for all. He lobbied Bischoff for a cage match and got his wishes, much to Punk's dismay. (planting the seeds for any eventual anti-authority Punk run.) Match delivered quite nicely, Booker holds onto the US Title as Punk took a crazy bump off the top of the cage into the ring, allowing Booker to escape. Rating 90.

Rob Van Dam © Vs John Cena for the WCW Title. In the most hyped (and disappointing) match of the year, Cena defeated RVD in the main event to capture the WCW title. In what had been months of tension, build up and avoidance of a 1v1 match, they two finally faced off. I knew that psych was going to be an issue here, so I went ahead and scripted the match, expecting it to offset the issue, but it wasn't enough. The two even had good chemistry and that wasn't enough either. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible but I honestly was hoping for a high 90's match here. The build was Cena essentially calling out RVD for ducking and dodging him all year. RVD claimed Cena just didn't get the wins at the right time to get the number 1 contender spot, and that he was ready for him whenever he wants to fight. Finally, the stars aligned and Cena defeated RVD. He now has Goldberg waiting in the wings already, while RVD may not be finished with him either, as he still has a rematch clause to use. Rating 82

 20.
Well, i'm about 3 weeks away from Starrcade 2002 now and a lot has happened in my WCW game. I won't break down all the PPV's that i've done, a lot of the storylines have been stopgaps and all leading into the big show at the end of the year. here are some things that have happened in the game in the past 2-3 months.

WCW rose to national level in October but then we quickly fell to cult within a week because of the wrestling industry in the US (an oversight on my part, i should've capped our size at cult until the industry went on the upturn). This was in part due to the culmination of RVD Vs Kanyon receiving a 99 rating.

Bill Goldberg made a triumphant return to WCW, beat Kanyon and turned his attention to Cena. Both men scored 1 win each when they both entered the WCW title picture at Mayhem 2002. Along with Ken Shamrock, all 3 fell to RVD, Shamrock ate the pin and Goldberg moved out of the picture with Shamrock, leaving the big 1v1 showdown for the WCW Title at Starrcade being Cena Vs RVD. I still haven't decided whether i want to end RVD's year long title reign here, meaning a heel will win in the main event, or if I want RVD to retain again, or if Cena wins and theres a double turn (seeds have been planted throughout the past few months, RVD becoming more cocky, Cena's gimmick is very popular and could turn at any moment etc).

Hulk Hogan has been kept away from the title scene, feuding with Shamrock, Jarrett and Cena since his return. Scott Steiner attacked him in the Nitro after Mayhem, setting both guys up for a big time match at Starrcade. Hogan unfortunately doesn't really put on great matches now, but his overness and Star Quality is important to us. I don't want him or his creative control near the WCW title.

Sting is yet to return from rehab and won't make Starrcade.

CM Punk and the Straight Edge Society are doing extremely well. Everyone is getting over, including Punk who is just lower than main event autopush popularity. He just lost his US title to Booker T, who has seen his main event position slip with Goldberg and Hogan returning. He did put himself right back into contention however with a change in body shape, sending his SQ up to 93 from 81. He will receive a push back into the high 80's pop from the high 70's he's sitting at now as a result. (I honestly love that wrestlers can change their body type in this game and become massively valuable again due to their hard work getting in shape and vise versa, it has really changed my plans!) Not sure how long Joe, Steen and Castagnoli will stay attached to Punk, Joe is especially over now, not too far behind Punk with around 60 pop US wide. Both men are on the Next Big Thing list so possibly a big time feud sometime soon, but I don't envision either of them as babyfaces for a while so they'll probably dominate for another year. Joe will be facing Goldust and Punk will face Booker in a rematch for the US title at Starrcade.

Kanyon, Rey Misterio, Jeff Jarrett and Goldust are all extremely valuable upper midcard-main event talents, as they are possibly the best workers in the company. All of them have 90+ basics and high 80's psych, putting on golden matches with anyone they work with. Kanyon will get a WCW title run at some point, I just didn't want to hotshot the belt from him back to RVD in time for the Cena-RVD match i so wanted to build to for Starrcade 2002. 2003 might be his year depending on how Cena's eventual first reign does.

Diamond Dallas Page, Ric Flair and BamBam Bigelow are all in serious time decline, their time on the roster limited. BamBam is tagging with Jamie Noble so he might stay for a while, Flair's 100 basics and Psych have been real handy when jobbing him out to others (the list above all benefitted in one way or another from Flair), DDP put Misterio over to the next level recently, and is actually in a number 1 contender for the WCW title match with Shamrock and Goldberg at Starrcade, but it will be his last major match I think.

Looking to get AJ Styles, Chris Hero and Great Khali (yes, really) over post-Starrcade. AJ has done a whole lot of nothing really and I feel bad about that so I'll try put some time into him. Hero recently wanted out of my Dev fed, so he will be given a shot too. Khali has the potential to be better than in real life i feel, and I don't really have a giant like him, so he's squashing locals while Bob Orton manages him right now. He needs a storyline soon though.

 21.
Great American Bash 2002 is in the books now. The show was obviously affected by the drugs scandals, leaving many holes in the card as I explained in my previous post but we managed and some other guys got opportunities to shine on one of the biggest WCW PPV's of the year. Here is the card.

Shane Helms Vs Lance Storm. Helms was frustrated about losing his US title, and cut a promo backstage about it on Nitro when Storm viciously attacked him from behind. Storm came out the week after and said he was sick of Helms whining and complaining and that real wrestler's like himself never got the opportunities. So a match was made for Great American Bash. It was somewhat hurriedly thrown together and hopefully i'll get to flesh this one out more in the next month. Rating 75.

Konnan & Hugh Morrus © Vs Palumbo & O'Haire for the WCW Tag Team Titles. Palumbo and O'Haire beat down the champs in the middle of the ring on the Nitro after BATB, turning heel in the process. They cut promos saying they were not going to wait around politely, sucking up to the fans and waiting for a chance, they were going to snatch it for themselves. In a recurring theme of the PPV, the brash heels got the opportunity but came up short against the titleholders. Rating 76.

Rick Steiner Vs Shane Douglas. In a somewhat throwaway match on the card, two upper midcard guys fought in a open contest, with babyface Rick being cheated out of a win by Douglas. Douglas then the next day got pinged for roids and suspended so it was all for nothing giving him the win! Rating 65.

Air Raid Vs Johnny Swinger and Mike Sanders. Air Raid made their PPV re-debut in a match against the newly formed team of Swinger and Sanders. Aj Styles picked up the pin in a fairly impressive manner. The match did about what I expected, given the overness levels of the guys involved. Styles deserves to start climbing up the card. Rating 50.

Ric Flair Vs David Flair. Ric was in a 6 man tag match on the Nitro after BATB when his son David reappeared at Nitro, attacking Ric and costing his team the match. The next week, Ric challenged his son to a match, looking to teach him some respect! David accepted, and jumped Ric when he arrived at the building for Nitro the following week, putting him through the window of his limo! It wasn't enough to get an advantage over Ric though, who picked up the win. In reality, David is neither over enough or good enough to push, but I had somewhat of a storyline and spots needed filling so yeah. Rating 57.

Rey Misterio Vs Dustin Rhodes Vs CM Punk © for the WCW US Title. In the sleeper match of the night, CM Punk retained his US Title again with some help from Samoa Joe and the Straight Edge Society, who distracted Misterio long enough for Punk to nail Dustin with the US title belt. Rhodes looked visibly affected by this loss, and is going through some weird changes. Some say his mannerisms are becoming very similar to a certain gold painted wrestler from WWF... Misterio will go on to feud with Joe in a sidebar to this feud, while Dustin will feud with Punk still. Rating 81.

Booker T Vs DDP Vs Ken Shamrock. DDP finally completed his heel turn after another loss with the number 1 contendership on the line, beating down Booker after the match with a diamond cutter. unfortunately he tore a bicep too, so he's out for a month. Booker and Ken aren't done with each other either, with Ken still putting his nose into Booker's business. Both men will be involved in a 4 way for the WCW title next PPV. Rating 84.

Hulk Hogan Vs John Cena. In the perfect storm of negative things, this match did not deliver. Cena had been baiting Hogan for weeks, beating him down, taunting him with long winded raps about his long career being overshadowed by the new "legend" in town; Cena defeated Hogan, albeit with some underhanded tactics. Hogan of course wanted the protect and keep strong note, which i had to do, even though Hogan will get his win back. I also took this time to test out the 'spectacle' match aim which did not go down well. And to top it all off, Hogan and Cena have poor chemistry! So I will be doing this match again next month on a minor PPV, with a regular match aim and Hogan going over, but I won't be going to the well with this one when it really counts E.G Starrcade main event etc. Rating 69.

Rob Van Dam © Vs Kanyon for the WCW Title. RVD retains against Kanyon, who found himself also suspended after this PPV for steroids. Kanyon had won the opportunity to finally have a shot against the WCW champion but was ultimately successful at stopping RVD, who has been having a wonderful year, despite being on pot (i'm trying to overlook it for the sake of my main event scene). It was another match in the 90's for RVD, possibly the highest match WCW has put on this game. Rating 94.

 22.
Its been a shocking 3 weeks in my WCW lives game. Haven't even made it to Bash at the Beach and there's been some big changes. In an effort to spice up my game, i comprehensive tested every single worker in WCW. The result was shocking. Bagwell, Jarrett, Scott Steiner, Sting, Luger were all suspended or sent to rehab. Booker, RVD, Kanyon were all given fines as it was their first issue. So the Bash at the Beach card got shook up. Call ups from developmental for Christopher Daniels, David Flair and Air Paris and AJ Styles came. Hogan and Cena entered into a feud and will fight at this PPV. RVD and Kanyon still go ahead but the belt may well be heading Cena's way sooner than Starrcade. DDP will be turning heel on Booker T instead of turning in frustration after losing to Cena. Nash then came back from vacation the week after and with the backstage morale in the toilet at 58% now, was involved in an incident with Hogan (actually Hogan's fault). I gave Hogan a warning, Nash called it too soft. I then took a hardline stance and Nash walked! He was just given the Veteran of the first six months award too! Looking ahead, CM Punk, Samoa Joe, Rey Misterio, Cena, AJ Styles, Hogan if i can get him to behave, Sting if he can get off the painkillers and Booker if he stops using roids (i got a positive reaction from the last two) will hopefully be the backbone of the roster. Also got guys like Shane Douglas, Dustin Rhodes, Stasiak, Jindrak, Konnan, Hugh Morrus etc still around to fill out the numbers and not cause trouble so heres hoping. I think once Scott, JJ, Bagwell's contracts expire i won't re-sign, and RVD will get depushed once the belt is off him. here is a quick projected card of Bash at the Beach 2002 now.

RVD © Vs Kanyon for the WCW Title

Hulk Hogan Vs John Cena

Booker T Vs DDP Vs Ken Shamrock

Rick Steiner Vs Shane Douglas

Shane Helms Vs Lance Storm

Konnan and Hugh Morrus © Vs Palumbo and O'Haire for the WCW Tag Team Titles.

Rey Misterio Vs Dustin Rhodes Vs CM Punk © for the WCW US Title.

Air Raid Vs Mike Sanders and Johnny Swinger.

Ric Flair Vs David Flair

 23.
Well Great American Bash 2002 is in the books for my WCW Lives game. Thanks to some messy booking on my part the overall show was a bit lower than it could've been (86) but I'm happy nonetheless. The reason it was lower than it could have been is because of my decision to put Hogan Vs Steiner in Hogan's first match back in WCW last over RVD and Jarrett's TLC match. They had wrestled too many times recently so I didn't want to take the risk that they wouldn't perform better than last time. Boy did they smash it out the park and make me rue my decision though. I'll breakdown the card, with the same format as always, faces first, winners bolded.

Rey Misterio Jr Vs Buff Bagwell. Rey is getting somewhat of a push, he defeated Douglas in their recent feud and now he's going over Bagwell. Luger got himself suspended after The Big Bang PPV so that effectively ruined the tag team feud. In a Vince like move, Bagwell is also being punished for his tag partners mistakes. I basically started this feud with Rey rolling up Bagwell on a Nitro episode and Bagwell jumping him after the match and in the following Nitro episodes until this match was made. Misterio will probably move on to work with CM Punk for the US title very soon. Rating 81

Ric Flair Vs Ken Shamrock W/ Torrie Wilson. Ken again destroys Flair, leaving his career at a very uncertain point (he's 16 years into decline, I want him to retire but i also can't resist why he's still active to use his 100 basics and Psych to teach other guys). Flair couldn't understand Torrie's sudden allegiance to Shamrock but she is most certainly on board, low blowing Flair on the Nitro before GAB to help Shamrock's team pick up the win. I've yet to reveal Torrie's reasoning but I think she's going to be attracted to his muscles and strength etc, until i eventually turn Shamrock face when she ditches him for another heel she sees coming through the ranks? Kinda working Shamrock the whole time? Something along those lines. Rating 79

Shane Helms Vs Dustin Rhodes Vs CM Punk © W/ Samoa Joe for the WCW US Title. Dustin inserted himself into the feud after The Big Bang because of comments CM Punk made about him being one of the drug addicts of WCW. Dustin admitted in an interview that he's had problems with drugs in the past but he's clean now, and wants to teach Punk a lesson in respect. Helms however, still wants his US Title back and isn't bothered about Rhodes' problems with Straight Edge Society. This has led to a lot of tension between Rhodes and Helms at a time when SES is targeting them both with sneak attacks backstage in order to weaken them in time for this match. Joe, Steen and Castagnoli even picked up a handicap win against the pair when they were tagging on Nitro. Ultimately, their problems with each other meant neither was leaving GAB with the title, CM Punk picked up another victory with the help of enforcer Samoa Joe. Rating 86.

Diamond Dallas Page Vs John Cena. I'll call this like it is, I need to keep Cena away from RVD until Starrcade. I couldn't think of a great reason for this match but hey-ho. Cena has rapped a lot about DDP in the build up being too old to hang with a young stud like him etc. DDP is going to turn heel after the next match I think, and go on and feud with Booker T. These guys put on a good match though! Rating 88.

Sting Vs Kevin Nash. Nash slipped further into rage about Sting's victory at The Big Bang, absolutely adamant that Sting is somehow cheating and couldn't possibly be better than him. Nash searched for Sting every Nitro, eventually coming face to face and beating him down. However Sting again goes over and Nash will disappear from TV for a few weeks now. I'm thinking this may be a catalyst to turn Nash face, something about accepting his age is advancing and ability declining but he wants to hang with the young guys still. This match also killed it so he is capable with the right opponent despite being 7 years in decline. Rating 91.

Booker T Vs Kanyon. In a match that essentially decides the next number 1 contender for RVD's WCW Title, Kanyon takes a massive step to achieving his goal by surprisingly defeating Booker T clean! Kanyon has been on an upward trajectory for months, defeating Dustin Rhodes, Ric Flair and DDP in PPV matches in 2002. His final target was to defeat Booker T, a guy he saw as just receiving opportunities whenever he felt like it. This didn't sit well with Kanyon, who ruthlessly attacked Booker T at any opportunity he got. He will go on to face RVD at Bash at the Beach. Rating 93.

RVD ©Vs Jeff Jarrett for the WCW Title in a TLC match. In the culmination of a fantastic feud, RVD climbed the ladder and retained his title. JJ had taken to attacking RVD with chairs and tables, so RVD bought out a ladder on Nitro and five star frog splashed JJ. Bischoff decided to make it official and have WCW's first TLC match and they blew the roof off. As alluded to before, Kanyon is RVD's next challenger and I am almost certain that RVD will hold the belt until Starrcade where Cena will face him for the first time in a 1v1 match. rating 94.

Hulk Hogan Vs Scott Steiner. Hogan's return was to confront Steiner for his excessive bullying and post match beatdowns. This hasn't sat well with the Hulkster, who felt it his duty to confront Scott about the error of his ways. Well Steiner wasn't having any of it, beating down Hogan on his first night back at Nitro, shocking even the Nitro audience. this led to Hogan challenging Steiner to a match, to which Steiner accepted, claiming not to be scared of Hulkamania at all. However, Steiner should've been scared of the Hulkster's creative control, ensuring that Steiner was taking the leg drop and the pin. Rating 81.

 24. So I recently ran WCW The Big Bang 2002. We're still sitting at cult mostly due to the wrestling industry falling rapidly as well as the economy being in the toilet. We are still making a profit and doing well. The Big Bang ended up being very significant for us as it saw the return of Hulk Hogan. Not a signing I necessarily saw myself making but one I think will be good for us if I keep him on a short leash and keep him away from the WCW Title. I did have to give him everything but from a realistic standpoint i'm ok with that. He's also much less in decline that I expected. He made a run in at this PPV to save DDP from Scott Steiner. More on this when I break down the card! As always, babyfaces first, winners bolded. Locker Room Leaders © Vs Totally Buffed for the WCW Tag Team Titles. Standard tag feud, centered around the belts. Morrus and Konnan have held the belts for a good while now, and I don't really have any heel teams ready to take the titles off them. I'm not very good at booking tag team feuds. They have already beaten Stasiak and Jindrak and Storm and Awesome. I need to think of something else. Rating 82. Ric Flair Vs Ken Shamrock. Ken Shamrock's debut match, coming in off a MMA victory. in need of upper midcard heels and he has decent stats all round. Storyline was that Shamrock was announced ahead of time that he was coming to WCW. Flair took exception on Nitro, saying its lifers like him that made the business, why should part timers like Shamrock who have no love for the industry come in and make their money? Ken didn't even respond to Flair, he made his first appearance as he came down to the ring and dismantled Flair. They will probably have another match, with Flair moving more into a underdog veteran role. Shamrock is being paired with Torrie Wilson as I try to add some depth to his character. She always seemed to me to actually be suited to the "slutty" heel valet. Rating 75. Shane Helms © Vs CM Punk in a steel cage for the WCW United States Title. Both guys are on the NBT list so I tried to keep both looking good but also kept in mind that I have plenty of time with both guys yet. CM Punk is leading the Straight Edge Society (yep, i couldn't think of a different name and i love the idea, although i'm booking it right!) which consists of Samoa Joe as the enforcer and Kevin Steen and Claudio Castagnoli as the bright eyed, gullible followers. Joe is gaining some decent pop, Steen and Castagnoli are a bit behind but also coming along ok. As you can imagine, Punk is rallying against Helms being a bit of a party boy while representing WCW as a champion. Punk vowed during the course of the feud to relieve him of the title so he could continue to drink without the 'burden' of the title. Helms bested Punk in the first two matches (one by DQ) so the final match was put into the steel cage so Joe couldn't interfere. And he didn't, i actually decided to let Punk win it clean! Dustin Rhodes will be entering the feud, making the next match a triple threat, as i want both guys to work with someone a bit older and more experienced. Rating 77. Diamond Dallas Page Vs Scott Steiner. Poor DDP. He's way past his best now so he never really wins a singles match anymore. This match was more of a stop-gap for Steiner in his feud with brother Rick, but after Hogan signed that feud is now on the back burner. Rick was away selling his injuries after a horrendous beatdown by Scott after their last match. DDP came down to the ring to check on Rick, and then took it on himself to fight Scott to teach him respect. Scott responded with a win. Just as he looked about to put DDP out too, Hogan's music hit and Scott looked stunned! He left the ring quickly and has been sneak attacking Hogan and hiding in the Nitro's after this PPV. Rating 85. Booker T Vs John Cena. John Cena is already a bonfide star. Still massively over with a legendary rapper gimmick, the "Doctor of Thugonomics" is well and truly on his way to a collision with WCW Champion Rob Van Dam. As a small sidenote, i had already run house shows to check the chemistry between these two and it was poor. However, I decided to give them one PPV match for now as a taster, perhaps revisiting later in Cena's career. This was a standard build, both men feel like they should be next for the WCW title shot, so they decide to fight it out. Cena picks up the win here, but I really want to hold off on him and RVD until Starrcade so I will have to book myself out of this hole. Rating 81. Sting Vs Kevin Nash. Two of the four men from the WCW Title fatal four way at the previous PPV collide in singles action! Nash blames Sting for him not winning the title, despite Nash taking the fall. Nash has become increasingly paranoid, blaming Sting for every failure in his career and calling Sting jealous of all his success in the past. He says Sting was never the man in 90's WCW, and he was. Nash is so far into time decline however that he had to do the job. Rating 83. Dustin Rhodes Vs Kanyon. Talking of the WCW title, Kanyon is another competitor who feels he is long overdue for a shot. Starting with Rhodes, he plans to remove every unworthy person who got a shot before he did, just to prove a point! However, he has resorted to cheating in previous matches against Rhodes, which has angered Rhodes greatly. Rhodes put up a fight but in the end succumbed in the final bout between the two. Kanyon will now move on to target Booker T in his quest to become WCW champion. Rating 89. Rob Van Dam© Vs Jeff Jarrett for the WCW Title. After Jarrett became number 1 contender, beating Booker T and DDP in the process, he has become focused on RVD. Seen watching his every move, Jarrett was becoming like a stalker. He escalated quickly, jumping RVD whenever he was in the ring or backstage. Obsession to become champion took Jarrett over. In the end, it has cost him the match. Going out to pick up the belt, RVD managed to recover in time and overcome Jarrett in a classic. This feud has to continue. Rating 93.
