  1. Nothing really. Just the owner will hate you and be unwilling to work for you.
  2. They will become hostile very quickly especially if you beat them in regional battles. On my climb to Cult with PSW every single regional company in the US hated my guts. Mostly COTT promotions
  3. I just imagine someone using like 15 Keep strong notes and getting like a 65 match grade because of it
  4. I want to play a bit with the new scouting system, it seems quite reasonable.

  6. You can literally see how good every wrestler under 30 is going to be in the creative meeting screen. With minimal maneuvering you can also see the exact range of star quality he has, the exact range of charisma we has, if he ever will be charismatic, exactly the range his performance skills will be at. Using ring General you can estimate within 10 or so points what his stamina would be, not including practical testing since stamina thresholds are ridiculously linear and always ping for the exact same match length thresholds. Using showstopper you can get a similar estimate of a wrestlers flashiness, athleticism and star quality. The only thing you can’t see with reasonable certainty is top row stat, and even that can be gamed to be estimatable by using match types and checking for notes. Furthermore even beyond that, the game TELLS you, albeit in a slightly more ambiguous way if the worker is good or not. If you see Rumble - Excellent, that means the worker probably has over 70 brawling. The exact figures are more obscure but again, it doesn’t make anything more difficult than it would be otherwise, this is the sole reason I don’t use it.
  7. I played 2013 as a sandbox. 2016 is difficult to play that way due to needing a very specific set of workers to sustain National or go beyond it. I recently had a game for OLLIE and had Dr Rudo who highrolled 100 overness cap. Normally I would’ve made him the biggest heel in Mexico and did a stable like the Legion of Evil and based my shows around him. But due to National Battle system I was forced to use him as a midcarder and wait to poach Velicoiodad and El Leon from SOTBW. Rudo has excellent charisma and great skills but only 75 star quality and no weight change. 7.5 x 100 = 750. 750 isn’t even hitting the board in a National battle. He’s non viable.
  8. I can see the merit of keeping it in as an option be not having the option to compare or search skills. The thing is as I said it’s a vocal minority, so many players are either EWR players or mod players and it just doesn’t matter in these cases. Moreover for the people it DOES affect, has the fog of war really ever made it unclear who is good in the game? It’s still extremely obvious. Secondly my biggest issue with this complaint is that people overwhelmingly supported the star quality based National battle system, which did 100 times more to take away the simulation aspect of the game away than some silly fog of war feature. The National battle system fundamentally changes the way the game can be played.
  9. Promise system is weird. Basically get to brute force push whoever gives a promise, then feed them to the promised worker for crazy gains. Very much an unnecessary booking crutch. Yes. Particularly when said opinions are uninformed or based in incorrect information.
  10. If you ever thought fog of war added any challenge to the game you probably were playing either so suboptimal it doesn’t make a difference whether you do or you don’t, or you play with so many crutches it also doesn’t matter whether you do or you don’t. Largely, anyone who plays mods is a classic example, as almost every historical mod has cartoonishly overpowered workers which render anything beyond a roleplaying experience completely moot. But I’m not here to really argue your opinion on the game. More to dissuade any potential sentiment which may reflect a knee jerk reaction to change the system. Since I’m pretty convinced people are being intentionally hyperbolic in order to enact unnecessary changes they want, much like the National battle system change. Especially given that almost every relevant worker for the last 2 entries has been unaffected by Fog entirely because they have enough experience to be fully scoutable on game start, it’s very hard for me to take these “dealbreaker” complaints as genuine.
  11. I certainly was not flaming anyone. I am quite unperturbed. And yes, this not only has applied to technical but all top row stats. Only the biggest one matters, the rest have other use, mostly training and also previously for match types although this has been removed, so now we’ll rounded stats are slightly less useful than before(unsure of how this will play into the new aims system, this needs testing) It could just end up that guys working say a High Spots aim get really good grades if they have good aerial and so on. Which makes stat diversity a little more worth it.
  12. It’s not too difficult. The game isn’t complicated and most things are visually represented totne player. Every now and then I come across a very minor discovery buy I haven’t learned anything particularly interesting about TEWs engine in a long while. And no I wouldn’t say that the people who didn’t know about how stats work is the minority. It’s obvious most people don’t pay attention.
  13. One I did not make 5 posts in a row. Two several people have expressed apathy or support for the removal. And again, an overwhelming majority of TEW players are historical mod players. If you really play with Fog of War in a game re-enacting the Attitude Era I don’t know what to say to you. Or really even CVerse since the database has again, been exactly the same for years now. Even the debuting workers most people have already seen due to playing long TEW2016 games, their stats don’t really change with new editions. Also even for say a random mod like Thunderverse where Fog might have some appeal, the young wrestlers who are obscured by fog don’t even matter. Since you should never push a worker based on his starting skills but his caps which is observable in the creating meeting screen anyway. Lastly, to the guy who said that Fog prevents signing the best workers and pushing him, how exactly? It doesn’t give you misleading or incorrect stats, even through Fog you can still see exactly how good a worker is, it’s jjst much less information. If you see a worker who is “Weak” in most stats, you are still well aware he is probably not worth signing regardless of it’s represented numerically or not. Conversely, workers who are excellent prospects will have descriptions matching that, it really makes little difference at all.
  14. These are all very obvious though. The match engine in this game is as simply as you’d expect from a one man developer. I figured out everything there is to know about TEW years ago and my first one was 2013. I’m really just surprised most of these things aren’t common knowledge but I feel Ike a lot of people don’t read a lot of my posts. Secondly, they aren’t exactly meaningless. Each stat has a huge effect on worker training, and especially with how wonky new gen stat distribution is, there is a lot of value in having guys who are great in a large number of stats, even if technically he only needs to be good in one. Put it this way, a guy with 77 in every top row stat will basically improve your entire roster every time they wrestle him. If you really play for efficiency, limited guys have diminishing returns beyond just normal grades at actually improving your roster and thus setting you up for better grades in the future, where well rounded guys, like say a lot of the Japanese guys can be used with anyone and particularly have value in tag teams if they lowroll on overness or have low SQ. Anyway, specifically the issue with Tech/Sub/Mat as stated was that due to destiny caps being so random, you did have a lot of chances for a guy to have at least one dominant technical skill and he only needed one to be a grades machine. I highly prefer it being removed particularly for the sake of having more stable stats overall. Also if this bothers you, I hope you realize that an 80/0/0/0/0/0 Brawler performs exactly the same as an 80/79...etc, one.
  15. Basic math. 85ish represents a high level young prospect in TEW. 8.5 x 100 = 850 One of the games pre designated main eventers will have 94ish SQ. 9.4 x 91 = 855 Now granted TEW also features a feature called overnesss caps, which will rapidly drop a character in popularity each day he is beyond the limit the game thinks he should stay. 99.5 percent of the database has an overness cap below 100, meaning on average only SQ > 90 is viable in National battles given the pre existing talent in the game. This problem becomes more pronounced as the game progresses, because new gens start as overness zero. See the way the game generates overness caps is by looking at the characters starting overness and then going up. This causes a comical bias in overness caps for already existing main eventers, but because almost all new gens start at zero, their range is so much higher and more susceptible to lowrolling. Actually had a recent game of the best new gen I ever saw, he had 99 SQ after getting ripped but only B+ overness cap. Let’s say it’s an 87 9.9 x 87 = 861 This means in the average game, he will be like a 4th or so best guy in a National Battle, which is valuable, especially for a new gen, but still largely inferior to the games pre-determined stars (Dead Pool, Golden, Hawkins, Champion, etc) Basically TEW2016 plays you, you don’t play it. Conversely, in 2013, the two best guys in my company were Ricky Storm and Jason Dempsey, with a Jason Dempsey having. A meager 39 star quality but over 80 charisma and 90s in performance. I very much played 2013, the game didn’t require me to pre-determine my choices in running a wrestling simulation. 2016 is literally a math game not a booking simulator, but overwhelming prominence of mod play obscures this.
  16. No that’s called a vocal minority. Especially given pretty much any feature being removed will have people who complain for the sake of it no matter how minor. I mean people are literally complaining about two useless stats being removed that serves no purpose other than to create game world imbalances.
  17. Except the CVerse has been the same for the last 15 years ago and not knowing who is good by now indicates a severe lack of of concentration at best. Even moreso for RW mods where literally everyone knows who’s good beforehand because they are based on real or historical wrestlers. It only has ever mattered for newgens who are mostly worthless anyway and aren’t even on by default.
  18. No this isn’t how it works in the game engine. This is why flashiness is an integral stat on the Creative Meeting for Show Stoppers
  19. It has always used the highest number. It literally has never made a difference. You can see this yourself. It’s really apparent in mods where people make more extreme stat distributions. Alexander atomic and his 94 or whatever Mat Wrestling in Cverse 77 comes to mind. If you increased his poor submissions to be in the 70s it wouldn’t even do anything. The only purpose it had was for training purpose. It technically made technically wrestlers disproportionately OP over long games because they had 3 chances to be elite top row guys where everyone else had 1 In game terms this nonsense stat gets used as the primary modifier to determine the winner of a national battle regardless of overness. It absolutely does not work intuitively considering the generated workers generate in a fashion that makes “star quality” a completely irrelevant stat. There’s also a huge issue in that Adam decided Star Quality for most young workers of note many years ago, started with the values much higher and now has dramatically decreased it as time goes by. I don’t even see how 2020 CVerse is going to be sustainable given the workers yet to deny in 2016 all start with laughable star qualities in the 60s and such even for the decent prospects. This might be one of the first years he manually adjusts those values but if not it’s going to be silly with all these super old high SQ guys dominating National battle scenes. I guess Adam realized this along with feedback and is now setting the star quality to actually grow over time so we’ll see. I’ve definitively voiced my opinion over the years I absolutely hate the stat and how it works especially in 2016, it basically ruined the game. The issue is that much like the WMMA3 > WMMA4 transition the QOL upgrades are so dramatic that 2013 is unplayable now. Same with WMMA3 being much better than 4 but being unplayable due to contract minigame fixed in 4.
  20. There is only one Brawling and one Aerial stat. Puroresu and Hardcore are their own separate skills with different calculations and previously supported different match styles. For example you couldn’t use a Puro worker in a Brawl match and it actually do anything unless he had Brawling. Anyway I like the change because the old system, as many things worked terribly with new gens. First of all the technical wrestlers didn’t spawn right because tech/chain were tied together but not submissions so you’d often see 80/80/50 technical prodigies which is weird but my favorite was having a Giant Entertainer with high 70s submissions after years of development and chain and mat in the 40s. Flashyness has nothing to do with the Aerial stat. It’s a catch all match modified that gives huge boosts just like Athleticisn(only moreso). You can have a Brawler with 0 aerial and 80 flashiness and he perform better and likely be a show stopper. No the issue was that it used the Charisma stat and not Microphone. The color commentary stat was an awful addition and created more problems than it fixed. The thing about being a color commentator is you need to know how to talk. Warrior had a lot of charisma but couldn’t really talk, because charisma extends a lot more than just verbal skills. Macho Man couldn’t talk at all. He was a one note oddball promo who never said much of anything but he had a good catchphrase and fancy outfits and good body mannerisms of course he’d be a crap commentator. On the other hand there are guys who are boring and have no charisma who can talk. They can make decent color commentators. Guys like CM Punk would have high Microphone skills and also adept on commentary. Booker T has a lot of charisma but is only average microphone and not the greatest color commentator.
  21. Big fan of the removal of match types. I hated how every high risk match was either Brawl abased or Hardcore based. No one in the database could work half the more extreme type matches because everyone’s hardcore stat is so bad. In general the hardcore stat as whole is probably I’ll conceived but meh... this alleviates one issue. Also TLC matches randomly being high spot matches when tons of workers have worked that match style before.

The main event featured a 20 minute match that stared slow and focused more on telling a story than having a classic wrestling match. At one point the referee being knocked down, <strong>Doctor O'Haire </strong>attempted to use a scalpel on<strong> Cique Jr</strong> only for <strong>Cique Jr</strong> to turn the table and hit him over the head with it. <strong>Cique </strong>Jr finished the match with a suplex into a bridge for a narrow 3 count, and looked ecstatic to be Lucha Lucha!'s first champion! Overall it was a great match and the two had great chemistry together. <strong>D</strong> .</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46722" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div> <img alt="T3OzgLb.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/T3OzgLb.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> <strong>Cique Jr</strong> celebrated winning the title by climbing up to the top ropes with the title in hand.
