Adam Cole getting hurt threw the whole main event scene up in the air, and left AEW scrambling for a suitable dance partner for MJF.

I think there have been some understandable missteps caused by unexpected injuries.

Joe, in particular, hasn't been booked well recently.

I don't blame AEW too much -- injuries are hard to predict, and the main event scene has a lot of miles on it.

I do think going forward the company would do well to manage their stars better. Guys like Adam Cole and Daniel Bryan shouldn't be wrestling much on TV, and when they are, they should be heavily protected in multi-man tag matches. Especially when they are already hurt.

AEW has a lot of guys there who are pretty beat up.

Have them cut promos, be involved in run-ins, but don't have them taking bumps unless it's a big show.

Then just move on. TK should've learn from the mess that was the Jade story when Statlander was injured and everything was put on a hold until she healed.

If Cole is hurt, leave him off TV until he is 100% and then you can continue the story. Or not. Sometimes you just gotta move on and adapt. Want to keep him on TV? Just have a segment every other week showing his progress. But you can't have your World Champion in this mess for this long.

But I agree that if Cole wasn't injured the story probably would've been different. Well, at least the ROH Tag Titles are gone. Hope I never see those again in my life.

  2. Mox vs Kingston is the worst outcome possible. That's my bathroom break for saturday.

Sammy back with Jericho for what it feels like the 100th time. I'm a fan of both but I don't want to see that anymore.

So is Joe the devil? If not, why is he working for the devil? That's so bad, it just screams WWE and I don't like WWE.

  3. The show was good except for the squashes and the OC match. I wasn't expecting a street fight so that was a good surprise.

I did like Collision more with a different pace. The show felt like a Dynamite with so little time for things to breathe. And Winter is Coming was pretty meh this year, we didn't even have the graphics, which was one of my favorite things. If you're not going to properly do a "special" show, just don't do it at all. I think they only added the name and everything else was just regular tv.

Ringside News published an article saying WBD might not re-new AEW and/or WBD may alter the deal.

Right now, it looks pretty likely WBD will sign WWE RAW. CM Punk's debut being seen as a key component of the deal.

Given that WBD only greenlit Collision because Punk would be featured, I think many (including me) predicted this might happen.

If they have to move to a smaller network, I do think AEW will recover long-term. Re-signing MJF and Ospreay is huge, and the company always has the UK market as a backup.

I do worry that short-term the company will struggle given that AEW is a bit financially overextended right now. Moving from TNT would definitely be a major setback.

The source to all that is Hausman, who is Punk's message man, so I'd take that with a pinch of salt.

NBA's right are up next year so WBD has a lot on their plate right now, and they are doing the best thing for them by meeting WWE. TK, on the other hand, is always hyping up the partnership and even refusing to listen to any offers, which IMO is dumb.

At the end of the day it's just business and none of us know anything about it.

  5. Last night's show was pretty good. The only low point was that Omega/Jericho segment. Everything was so awkward, Omega was stumbling on his words, the timing between them was off. I love Jericho, he's the GOAT in my opinion, but a break is heavily needed. And seeing Omega stuck in a tag team again makes me so mad. I'd rather see him in a trios if he can't work singles matches.

  6. Abadon is a terrible gimmick. It's like ECW's Zombie. Feels like something that would fit with the Dungeon of Doom. Just cringe and lame.

Just like when Statlander pretended to be an alien and touched people's noses for some reason. No point in having that type of character in 2023/24.

I'd love to see more Joshis on AEW. While I don't follow it at all, that was the plan for the women's division from the start and covid ruined it. That's why I'm really excited to watch Mariah May wrestle, since she was on Stardom and that has been a highly-regarded promotion for some time (and I tried but couldn't get into it).

I know I'm probably alone one this, but I'm so so sick of Super-Mox and his super-booking. Is he a top star? Sure. Should he be the most protected guy in the whole freakin' company? Not even close.

Mox's best work was around the time when he first won the AEW Championship. Pretending to join the Inner Circle and all that.

Besides that, if you've seen one Mox promo, you've seen them all. It's the same with the matches, with a few exceptions.

  8. The fact is that this storyline has been completely blown out of proportion because of Adam Cole's injury. If he was healthy maybe he would've already been outed as the Devil and nobody would've complained, because we were all expecting a betrayal coming out of the Brochachos, we just didn't know who would pull the trigger first.

But now the longer it goes, the more people speculate and get their hopes up, and if it's really him it's just gonna be kinda lame.

  9. - Pretty good match. White and Swerve are just incredible professional wrestlers. I love the fact that there was no tie or ref bump to end the match, just Swerve outsmarting White and White getting caught off guard.
    - The story with Storm and May is getting interesting. I'm curious to see where they're going with that.
    - Christian vs Copeland could be great next week. Don't know if I'm ready for Christian to lose the belt yet though. I hope he retains.
    - I just realized that I don't care about Wardlow AT ALL anymore. Something needs to change. Maybe he's involved with the Devil shenanigans, maybe not, either way I'm not sure it would be enough for me to care.

So are we getting to know two members of the Devil's group next week or they are gonna wrestle with masks on? lol

  10. I never thought it could be Punk. Everything points to being Adam Cole and his goons, which for me it would be disapointing. Jungle Boy would be a colossal mistake.

    The other options are:
    - Ospreay and the United Empire.
    - Swerve and the Mogul Embassy.
    - The Don Callis Family, which is a huge stretch but I could see it happening.
    - LFI, an even bigger stretch. Don't think they would fit.

Everyone else would make no sense being involved in this angle.

Joe gets a bigger reaction than most of the roster. Not giving him a title shot is dumb. Audiences want him in the main event. You are in the minority here judging by social media reactions to the announcement.

I feel like I'm totally disconnected from the rest of the AEW audience lol I don't like 80% of the stuff that most people seem to love (Orange Cassidy, Danhausen, The Acclaimed, Moxley etc)

But AEW is still the only company I like and for a PPV main event I'm not really looking forward for this match. Could've done it for Winter is Coming or something else.

  12. Ospreay is the best name they could add to the roster. I'd take him over Copeland any day of the week.

I read some fantasy booking about last night's main event and I really liked one that said it would be great if Adam Cole threw in the towel and caused MJF to lose the belt. Exactly what he did to Cody. The majority of people seemed to hate the ME so I'm glad I didn't waste my time.

  13. Swerve vs Hangman was incredible. Easily MOTN and probably one of my favorite matches ever.

Signing Ospreay is HUGE! He's the best wrestler in the world right now and he's still around 30. Wembley probably made a huge impact on his decision.

    - The Trios match felt like a Dynamite match. I couldn't get into it.
    - Didn't watch OC vs Mox. Don't really care about either.
    - Shida can't catch a break lol. I don't know if Toni needed the belt now though. Probably not.
    - The Ladder match was great. A bunch of insane spots. Starks retaining was the best decision.
    - Good to see Julia win. Statlander just felt... there. I couldn't get into her reign from the beginning.
    - Golden Jets vs Bucks was in a tough position. Hard to follow that banger. This should've opened the show with the Stinger match here instead.
    - I hated everything about the angle they set-up for the main event. That felt like a Raw is War from the Attitude Era. It's a shame because I think MJF vs Switchblade could've been MOTY contender. Well, maybe it was. I turned off the show about two minutes into the match. Just hated everything around it.
