  1. Jade reminds me of Cody and all the Codyverse stuff. He was just there every week completely detached from everything else that was happening on the show.

She was with Mark Sterling, then dropped him to go with that other guy, then went back to Sterling. Then Kiera Hogan was there for a while, now it's Leila Grey. Just facing a bunch of jobbers and mid to lower card women every other week. They randomly decided to give a 1 week push to Marina Shafir, with a hype video and all that, to try to make her credible as a contender, and of course she lost in a terrible 10 minute match and was never to be seen again.

It's really weird in that sense. She has the star power like nobody else in the division, but they make her feel directionless. Six months training in Japan would do wonders, but she has a kid and a husband, doesn't look like it would be worth for her.

Orange is facing someone new every week and they always look good in defeat.

He's like MJF in that sense. MJF is great because he is not out there wrestling for 20 minutes every week. He could do it and it would be banger after banger after banger, no doubt, but less matches make it feel more special when he wrestles.

Without paraphrasing Jim Cornette, what exactly is your problem with Orange Cassidy? He's over as rover and has fun matches with pretty much everyone. Is it the comedy aspects?

I used to love how he was handled at first. Like a special attraction, wrestling sporadically. There was a spot in one of the first Dynamites that had a Inner Circle vs Elite backstage brawl and he was just hanging out in a random bathroom out of nowhere. That was really funny.

The problem is when the supposedly lazy wrestler is wrestling the same 18-minute matches every single week.

I know I'm in the absolute minority, but it's legit go-away heat for me. Same with Jeff Jarrett and a few others.

I just saw this image and had to share.

19 matches for a weekly show. If ROH had a 50 minute show with 3 or 4 matches, I might could give it a shot. This is way too much imo. Less is more in this case. But now that there's no Dark anymore, this will be where they are gonna use most of the lower card.

But hey, people have to get their $10 worth of content somehow.

Watching Rampage finally and Taya better freaking win at DoN.

I can see Taya losing and Statlander returning after the match. Which in my opinion is a mistake, just like having Jade hold the belt for 500 days beating jobbers in short matches while waiting for Statlander to return from her second injury is a huge mistake. There's no hype in 50-something wins in a row if the kinda-relevant opponents can be counted in one hand.

Tony's instincts are correct but he can't read the room here.

Sammy does better work as a face, but AEW fans will never cheer Sammy when he behaves like a buffoon outside the ring.

Sammy is like Foley in that respect -- Sammy has a heel look, but has good natural charisma and a devil-may-care attitude that in a vacuum people will cheer.

Tony's right to split Sammy off from the Jericho Appreciation Society. Sammy needs to become his own wrestler and not a Jericho sidekick -- he's too far up the card now to linger as a lackey. Either move Sammy to another stable or have him strike out as a singles wrestler.

Sammy was presented as a face yesterday because the show was in Texas, where he is from. I don't expect crowds to be cheering for him anywhere. Which is a shame, because I actually like him.

  7. The second hour was a lot better than the first one. Jeff Jarrett on national TV in 2023 is already bad enough, and then they bring in Karen. I don't get it. It's an instant mute for me until they are out of the screen. Jericho's match was pretty fun.

About CM Punk, I really hope he doesn't come back now. There's always something with him and he's gonna keep being trouble in the locker room.

Looks like Dark & Elevation have been silently cancelled. I expect to see more squash matches on Rampage going forward. It will be interesting to see if it can sustain high enough ratings for WB to keep airing it.

I can see Dark coming back when the new deal with WBD is announced. Even though I haven't watched Dark since the first month, it is very cheap content and could be put on the MAX platform.

I don't know who is in charge, but I don't like what I'm watching right now. I think AEW has an excellent (and I really mean excellent) roster, but the product is not on that level and is worse than it was in the past. I don't think I'd be interested in AEW if this was the product they offered when the company debuted. Bandido vs El Hijo Del Vikingo is the match that I enjoyed the most in the past shows and it was for a AAA title.

I don't think is a good idea to have Omega vs CM Punk for the title at Wembley. That can be one of the matches, even the Main Event, but they don't need the title there. I still believe Darby is a good choice to be the champion at that point, with Sting by his side, but I think they are hurting Darby with the pillars story and I only see Sammy taking a big role (that is the only positive point of this story IMO as he seems to start moving on from JAS and he really needs to).

What I miss the most is that authentic feel, where you could sense that anything could happen. Now they just follow a script that everyone that has been watching for a minute can pinpoint what's happening next.

The format they've been puting out is like:

    - A 16-18 minute match (usually involving OC), one commercial in the middle
    - Backstage interview that is interrupted by whoever is being interviewed is feuding right now, goes to commercial
    - A 10-12 minute match, 1 minute promo video about someone saying some things, commercial
    - A squash if there's one and a JAS promo, another backstage interview that is interrupted quickly
    - Another random match at the top of the hour, commercial
    - Women's match starting at about 10:25 to 10:30, one commercial
    - Random interview being interrupted and a match being made for Rampage, Excalibur speed reading the cards for Rampage and Dynamite
    - Main event starting at around 10:48, with a commercial just four minutes later.

Lately they've been trying a different dynamic that resembles more The Attitude Era, when there are separate storylines in each show to follow the big storyline, but I personally don't like it very much.

I miss these silly things like the Dippin Dots brawl.

  10. The absolute biggest match they can have is CMFTR vs The Elite. But there are so much stuff in between that we don't know if it's actually happening until it does.

I'm not even a Punk fan but he's right now the most realistically option to take the company to the next level. The problem is that Tony Khan is the master in wasting opportunities, like this card that he put out after the CM Punk debut on Rampage. I'll always be salty about this.

    Singles Match
    Matt Hardy vs. Orange Cassidy
AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament First Round Match
The Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix) (w/Alex Abrahantes) vs. The Varsity Blonds (Brian Pillman Jr. & Griff Garrison) (w/Julia Hart)
    Singles Match
Jamie Hayter (w/Dr. Britt Baker DMD & Rebel) vs. Red Velvet
    Six Man Tag Team Match
Darby Allin, Eddie Kingston & Jon Moxley (w/Sting) vs. The Wingmen (Cezar Bononi, JD Drake & Ryan Nemeth) (w/Peter Avalon)
    Six Man Tag Team Match
The Gunn Club (Austin Gunn, Billy Gunn & Colten Gunn) vs. The Factory (Aaron Solo, Nick Comoroto & QT Marshall)
    Singles Match
Malakai Black vs. Brock Anderson (w/Arn Anderson)

I can't be the only person who has baited breath about Jeff Hardy being back, can I? Like, how long can Jeff keep his head clean before something, anything, happens with him?

At this point I don't even care about him anymore. What I care about are the people that are in danger because of him.
How many more second chances are you getting until you kill someone just like Sunny did?

And I'm not even going to talk about in-ring. Jeff and Matt's bodies are so banged up that they can barely move.
