1. I love this era of wrestling. This was my childhood. Very fond memories and although you're putting your spin on it you totally do it justice. Very happy Tito got the win over Honky in the KOTR qualifier, always enjoyed his work. Honky... less so. Loving Heenan and Perfect promoing. Both those guys could really go, Brain especially. Also, great work with the Savage promo. When you read it and hear it in the wrestler's voice you know you've nailed it.

Thanks for reading man, and thanks especially for that last compliment! I'm really happy with how all the Savage promos have turned out so far in this diary, and I've put a lot of time into tweaking them to sound just right. I basically just do what you mentioned, read them over and over until I can hear the specific wrestler's voice in my mind.

Not a fan of Larry Z, but he’s a solid hand to have on any roster

I'm a little indifferent to him myself, but it's kinda like what we were discussing about Rick Martel some posts back. You can stick him in there with pretty much anyone decent and get a good to great match. Plus, my midcard is still a tad thin on quality singles wrestlers right now.

  2. Wow! First time I win one of these and it's in 3 categories! Thanks from the bottom of my heart to everyone who voted for me! And thanks to WilburTrey and Element for the nominations! I truly appreciate it!

Also, congratulations to all of the other winners and nominees and thanks to all of the users of the forum for another great month of support for each other! Finally, a special thanks to Togg for his dedication in putting this whole thing together in the first place!

Thanks for joining in on the predictions Martel123! I truly appreciate you taking the time to read and participate!

**I'm making good progress on Saturday Night's Main Event: Mayhem and hope to have it posted by tomorrow.**

  4. I know he’s “older”, but Martel is such a good hand to have on deck. He is a solid, underrated in ring competitor, can talk, and a pretty positive influence on the locker room.

I mean he got an 81 match rating with Animal! That’s impressive. Did they have any chemistry?

Yeah, he's great! I can stick him with pretty much anyone and he'll pull at least a 70. In fact his lowest non pre-show match grade of the save was a 70 against jobber Scott Taylor on Prime Time in February. He's averaging a 76 overall so far.

And no, no chemistry notes for the Animal match! Heck, that Animal match was only 3 points off his blindfold match with Jake Roberts that I built to for 2 months.

Martel can make one hell of a WWF Champion. I say that from experience. :D

Oh yeah, I could build Martel up a little bit more and get some great main event matches out of him as champion. And of course with him being a heel, it would be easy to stretch it into a decent length reign.

Also, Steamboat totally has breakout character potential. Keep churning out good stuff and PUSH PILLMAN.

The big Pillman push is definitely coming, but probably not in 1991. Probably!

PS. May Week 4 TV and the Saturday Night's Main Event: Mayhem predictions card should be posted by this afternoon.

  5. WWF - May - 1991

"The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase & Sid

Won From: Vacant (defeated The New Foundation(Neidhart/Owen) at Saturday Night's Main Event: Wrestlemania Revenge

    World Television

    "Nature Boy" Buddy Landel

Won From: Dino Bravo at WWF Wrestling Challenge, Week 4, April 1991

    1991 Royal Rumble Winner

The Undertaker (last eliminating Ricky Steamboat)

  6. What a shock reveal!

Hopefully you liked it. Or at least didn't hate it! Thanks for reading Jaysin!

Wow, I absolutely loved the red herrings throughout the show! I'm curious and stoked to find out about Steamboat's motivations. Feed me more!

Oh, there's definitely more coming! I've just been a little busy IRL lately and I'm running a couple days behind. Thanks for reading and for the kind words!

PS. I wonder if anyone noticed that Steamboat was in the group of wrestlers that ran down to check on Hogan after the masked man first attacked at WM7?

While I like Ricky Steamboat as the mystery man, IRL, when Ricky Steamboat proposed turning heel, Pat Patterson basically said that Ricky was so popular that he could have dismembered Hogan with a chainsaw and the fans would have cheered for him...

Interesting to see how this plays out...

Thanks for reading Lord Byron. I truly appreciate it!

I hadn't heard the part about the chainsaw, but I did read that Steamboat wanted to turn heel and Patterson wouldn't go for it. In fact, Steamboat wanting to turn heel and being refused was pretty much my inspiration for starting this diary.

Amazing Show. I loved the twists and turns. I look forward to what happens next!

Thanks for reading and for the kind words WilburTrey!

*****I just wanted to let everyone know, that although SNME was a day late and I didn't post the first week of May TV yesterday like I normally would the day after a PPV, that this dynasty is far from over! My free time's just gotten away from me a little bit these past few days, and I'm running behind. Normally I post shows on a "schedule", since it helps me to not get too overwhelmed. That normal schedule would be as follows:

    Week 1 TV - Tuesday

    Week 2 TV - Wednesday

    Week 3 TV - Thursday

Week 4 TV and PPV Predictions Card - Friday

    PPV - The following Monday

However, since I'm already way off that schedule, I'm gonna hold off on the first week of May TV until my regularly scheduled day of Tuesday. This will allow me to get a little further ahead on writing my future shows, which will help to lower the chances of more delays later on. Right now, I've got most of my major matches planned through about July 1991. With these few extra days, I hope to increase that until about November 1991. Also, I'm hoping to get a few shows done ahead of time, since I've pretty much been posting as I book in-game, which is okay but not ideal.

Thanks for understanding and I look forward to continuing this dynasty on Tuesday of next week!*****

  7. Is there a minimum match length for a worker to gain skill improvements?

The understanding I got from this board in the past was full capacity for improvements requires 7 minutes, but less still allows smaller gains.

    Yup!

Here is the full relevant entry from the Players Handbook in-game:

A wrestlers skills will improve with every match that he wrestles, as long as he has not entered the "decline" phase of his career and road agent notes did not mean he had a limited role in the bout.

Most skills will gain 0.1% just from working a match. Some core skills (basics, psychology, safety, consistency, and stamina) gain slightly more, with extra boosts available if the worker has a low rating or if someone better at that skill is also in the match.

If the match went over 7 minutes (of in-ring action; non-wrestling time does not count) then the worker can gain an extra 0.1% for each skill as long as someone else in the match was better than him at it and he is not within 30% of his maximum "capped" level in that skill.

  9.
Looks like I won't actually get Wrestlemania 7 posted today after all. Even though it's my birthday, I thought I would have enough free time to finish the last couple matches, do my final read through and post, but it just didn't work out. The show is done though and I've already double checked my spelling and grammar. I just like to do one final read through from start to finish to make sure it "flows" well, and I'm just not gonna have the time to get around to it by a reasonable hour.

Now, my plan is to post Wrestlemania 7 tomorrow and post both weeks 1 and 2 of April TV on Wednesday. This will keep me on my usual "schedule" of Week 3 on Thursday and Week 4 on Friday, with the next PPV posted on Monday.

I know it's probably pointless to post this little update, since I'm sure no one is so invested in this that they need to know ahead of time if a post is gonna be a day late. I'm just the kinda guy that likes to keep my word if at all possible, even if it's not really "important".

    Thanks for reading guys!

  10. WWF Intercontinental Championship Match

Mr. Perfect © vs. The Big Boss Man

Comments: I hope this loss propels Perfect up the card. somehow people forget loses can do that as much as a win.

You're right, this is often overlooked by fans. I see people doing it all the time on message boards and reddit. Thanks for the predictions and comments WilburTrey!

    Thanks for predicting Element!

Can I just take a moment to come out of the shadows and say that this has been truly exceptional work to date? Seriously, huge kudos for what you’ve done thus far! Lots of logic and some neat twists on what we’re used to with diaries from this period (I’ve NEVER seen anyone turn Dino Bravo before! And to use it as the catalyst for forming the Natural Disasters? Good stuff)

Thanks a ton Ritchardo! It means so much to get comments like this when you put so much work into something. And it is work! I highly recommend it to anyone who has the time and inclination though, since it really forces you to play honestly and mix things up a bit.

    Anyway, predictions:

"Macho King" Randy Savage w/ "Senasational" Queen Sherri

Comments: I think the Warrior would be better suited to his crusade against the jobbers on the card by working the undercard a little... Savage is more reliable and stable. It won’t be clean but Savage FTW.

Oh yeah, the Warrior really hates the jobbers man. He never shuts up about it!

Also, just wanted to say that I'm making good progress on Wrestlemania, having finished the two biggest matches on the card, and hope to have it posted tomorrow. Thanks again to everyone who commented/predicted and to anyone else following along otherwise! It's truly appreciated!
