Iesada challenged Torii after putting Torii out cold at Shiga's retirement show earlier this week and challenged the BCG World Champion to a match for his crown. American Demolition and Miura & Yoshizawa are set to clash over the BCG World Tag Team Championships in Osaka as well. Perez beat Tobei Sugimura in the first round and outlasted Extraordinario Jr in the quarterfinals in a cracker of a match. Both men are looking to move on for a chance to become the first BCG Junior Heavyweight Champion in Osaka at the end of the tour.</p><p> Who will take the penultimate step?</p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>BCG Junior Heavyweight Championship Tournament Semifinal Match</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="wrE38CV.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wrE38CV.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="GQDz9Zn.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GQDz9Zn.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="2mho8h4.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/2mho8h4.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>Orange Tsuchie vs. Razan Okamoto</strong></p><p> </p><p> Razan and Orange both have had to earn their way to the semifinals the hard way, with Orange taking out KAZ and Jimmy Stratoshpere and Razan having to outwit the veteran Hidekazu and the Blood Fighter Totoya Sugimura. Both men bring an excellent aerial base blended with a technical style that should provide for an intriguing matchup.</p><p> Will the Dawnguard stable continue their rise in BCG or will Orange book his ticket to the finals?</p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>BCG Challengers Series Championship</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="WAn32fv.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/WAn32fv.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="cR2lSlf.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cR2lSlf.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="GQDz9Zn.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GQDz9Zn.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="m2N4FSn.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/m2N4FSn.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> <strong>©Greg Gauge vs. Roku Sotomura</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> In the main event, Greg Gauge has made an immediate impact in BCG wresting the Challengers Series Championship from Tanyu Toshusai last month. Miyake showed great fire, refusing to back down despite a huge size difference. Zeshin Makioka proved to be the difference maker in the match, showcasing his brawling prowess and taking the fight to the bigger men. The closing stretch saw Matsushita in control of Miyake, setting him up for his One-Handed Choke Slam finisher. Goto begged Matsushita to let him finish his fellow Young Lion instead and Rokuemon allowed Goto in the match. Goto set-up Miyake for a Goto Slam, but Miyake reversed it and hit a slicing kick to Goto's lower back that dropped him to his knees. A quick tag to Makioka followed as Miyake hit a flying knee that knocked Matushita off the apron. Makioka hit a DDT with Goto still on his knees, then locked in an old school Boston Crab on Goto that forced him to tap. Rokuemon Matsushita | Naozane Goto Matsushita chastises the Young Lion Goto for not knowing his place and costing them a spot in the finals. Goto is defiant and borderline disrespectful to his veteran partner. Matsushita stares at Goto intently but decides to walk away. As he turns, Goto grabs his arm to spin him back around to talk to him, then gives Matsushita a two-handed push into the barricade at ringside! Matsushita, enraged, pushes back as we see a minor sumo wrestling battle break out. Matsushita drives Goto back into the ring apron, then in an unbelievable display of power picks up the massive Goto with one arm and hits his patented One-Handed Choke Slam. Matsushita bows to Maeda as he motions that he is sorry for snapping on the Young Lion, but Maeda holds up his hands and tells Matsushita not to worry about it. Matsushita, Maeda, and M&M make their way to the back. The next two teams make their way out as the rest of the Young Lions try to pick Goto up. Blast & Stealth Z get in the ring first, then Yanagimoto & Katou. The four men look over with raised eyebrows as Goto finally gets to his feet and shoves away the rest of the Young Lions who helped him up before stomping to the back. Katou waylay-ed Stealth Z with heavy strikes and Stealth used his speed advantage to attack Katou at angles and get some textbook dropkicks in. Z went up top for a body splash but was turned inside-out by a Lariat from an exhausted Katou. Both men made it to their corners and tagged in the veterans. Blast started to get on a roll with some of his patented suplexes, but Yanagimoto countered with some well-timed reversals before tagging Katou back in. Katou and Blast had a rapid fire strike exchange that neither refused to back down from until Blast hit another suplex on Katou, this time into the turnbuckles that got a near fall. Katou fought back to a base and created separation with another lariat as both men scrambled to their corners. Yanagimoto & Stealth both came sprinboarding into the ring at an ubelievable pace. They traded attacks with each one finding nothing but air with the finishing note a standing backflip from Stealth Z over a spinning leg sweep from Yanagimoto. The two men gave each other a nod and reset, but as Stealth sent Yanagimoto to the his corner he hit a dropkick on Blast knocking him off the apron leaving Z alone. Shocked and desperate, Stealth went for his patented Ultra Z Fist (Spinning Back Fist) to try and end it there, but a quick spinning back kick to the gut from Yanagimoto set Z up perfectly for a Mikado Bomb (Tiger Bomb). Yanagimoto hooked the leg for the 3-count and booked he and Katou's place in the finals! Result Tsuneyo Yanagimoto defeated Stealth Z in 11:34 by pinfall with a Mikado Bomb Match Rating Yoshizawa's Note: Well, this match over-performed! Was not expecting a B out of it. Razan goes to follow it up with a sliding clothesline, but gets caught by a counter from Totoya and Razan has to scramble free. The two men reset and trade strikes and counter-holds for a few minutes, with neither able to gain the upper hand. Every time Razan takes to the sky Munakata rolls out of the ring and every time Munakata tries to tie down Razan and make it a grappling contest, Razan refuses to wade in. Every time Razan backs out though, he is getting a hard leg kick from Munakata. Both men are clearly staying away from the others strength and looking for an opening. At the 8 minute mark of the match, Razan finally gets one. As Razan runs to the corner to climb after a quick suplex, Munakata again starts to roll out of the ring. Instead of climbing the corner though, Razan hits full sprint, plants his foot on the top rope and backflips back into the ring. He heads for Munakata and hits a baseball slide that knocks Munakata off the apron. Razan keeps the pace and follows it up with a suicide dive to the outside. Razan scrambles back in the ring as the ref counts, and Munakata slides in as the ref hits 18. Razan again explodes out of the corner and connects with another big dropkick, that rattles Munakata's jaw. Munakata stands up holding his hands over his jaw. As he pulls his hands away, he reveals a crimson mask of blood over his face. He licks the blood off his hand and gets a crazed look in his eye as Razan tilts his head not sure what to make of it. Now Munakata explodes out of the corner and backs up Razan with knee and elbow strikes. Those leg kicks from the exchanges before by Munakata come heavier now and Razan is starting to favor his left leg. In a desperate attempt to not be trapped in the corner, Razan swings wildly with a kick that Munakata catches and leg rolls Razan to the mat. Munakata quickly transitions to an Angled Leg Lock on Razan's left leg that Razan has to force a rope break on. The two men reset and Razan is noticeably slower now in the exchanges, but Razan is no pushover in striking. Clearly taking a cue from his Dawnguard brethren, Okamoto rapid fires elbows at Munakata followed up by a big DDT from Razan that gets a two count. Those leg kicks from Munakata just keep coming though and Razan is paying the price every time he gets close to Munakata. A lariat from Munakata is followed up by an attempt at another that Razan ducks under and heads to the corner as Munakata begins to give chase. Razan hits that backflip out of the corner again, but his leg gives out on the landing. Munakata didn't follow him in and is waiting for Razan as he crash lands in the middle of the ring. Munakata pounces on Razan and locks in the S-T Sleeper (STF with a Sleeper) with Razan's left leg hooked. Blood is still pouring from Munakata's mouth as he leans back on the hold. The ref checks on Okamoto. Razan's body goes limp But only for a second! Razan starts firing wild elbows behind him on Munakata as a way to gain separation, and finally gets Munakata to break the hold. Razan fight to a base and hits another big dropkick, but Munakata is back up quickly. Razan hits another one! Munakata back up again. A third! Where is this energy coming from?!?! Munakata last ditch effort is a takedown attempt, that is stopped cold by a knee from Razan. Razan follows up on the bent over Munakata with a Brainbuster Suplex for the three count and birth in the semifinals! Result Razan Okamoto defeated Totoya Munakata in 15:43 by pinfall with a Brainbuster Suplex Match Rating Yoshizawa's Note: First of our four semi-finalists moves on. Munakata brought the technical wizardry, but Okamoto proves his all-around game is too much for him. Perez shakes his shoulder out and resets, then starts to fire off some of his trademark striking. Extra Jr is able to counter his way out of most of the exchange but a few find home backing the luchador into the corner. A big head kick from Perez misses as Extra rolls out of the corner and the two men nod to one another. The action goes back and forth for a while as both men display their technical prowess. The exchange finishes with Extra getting hung up going for a hurricanrana, but Perez controls Extra's wrist, hoists him up and hits a power bomb that leaves Extra clutching his back. Perez takes a moment to gather his breath after the rapid fire exchange. Perez goes to lift up Extra Jr from the canvas, but the luchador slides between Perez's legs, rebounds off the ropes and hits a massive tilt-a-whirl DDT! Extra goes for the cover but gets only a 2 count. Perez leaves his arm exposed getting his shoulder up though and Extra tries to wrench it into an arm-bar! Perez counters and gets a quick 2-count of his own which forces Extraordinario to break the hold. Perez fires another head kick that Extra ducks under at full speed and comes off the ropes again for another tilt-a-whirl DDT, but Perez counters this time and drops him into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker! Perez hangs on to Extra Jr draped over his knee and forward rolls all while keeping his knee on Extra's back. Perez hooks one of his arms over his other leg, and locks his hands under Extra's chin! The P-Clutch (Camel Clutch with one knee in the back of the opponent) is locked in deep and Extra is in the middle of the ring with nowhere to go. Extraordinario fights valiantly but is now screaming in pain as Perez really leans back on the hold and it seems like Extra will be broken in half. Extra keeps fighting but he's fading fast... Somehow, Extra uses Perez's momentum of leaning back to get to one knee and in one quick movement rotates backwards over and on top of Perez forcing the ref to count a quick 1 count pin that breaks the hold. Perez smells the blood in the water and pounces to capitalize but Extra avoids it and sends Perez through the ropes to the outside. Out of some reserve Extra rebounds off the far ropes and hits a Tope Suicida to the outside on Perez as the ref begins his brisk 20 count. Both men make it back into the ring at 19 on the count as Perez again closes the distance on Extra who ducks an elbow and hits a hurricanrana on Perez as he comes off the ropes. Extra is on Perez now with kicks to the body and sets up for Siempre Peleando (Arrow Suplex). As Extra goes to lift Perez his back gives way and both men crash to the mat. Both men get to their feet and fire kicks at each others mid-section until Perez swings a right hand that Extra catches, and twists Perez's shoulder once again. Still with wrist-control, Extra goes for a lucha-style arm drag again. As Extra's feet leave the mat to jump to the corner turnbuckle, Perez kicks his feet out leaving Extra sitting on the top turnbuckle. Perez now keeps hold of Extra's arm and hits a step up knee in the corner. Perez picks the dazed Extra Jr off the turnbuckle and hits him with a Perfect Parity (Muscle Buster) that has big impact. One.....Two..... Three! Frankie has done it! He's moving on to the semifinals! Perez picks up a dejected Extraordinario Jr off the mat and offers him a hand shake, which Extra accepts as the two men hug and Perez raises Extra's hand. Result Frankie Perez defeated Extraordinario Jr in 11:44 by pinfall with a Perfect Parity Match Rating Yoshizawa's Note: Perez books his spot in the semi's with a hard fought victory over a game Extra Jr. This was the match I was most looking forward to with the clash of styles and they didn't disappoint! They surround the outside of the ring as the rest of the roster makes it's way out and stands in the ring. Masayuki Shiga's music hits as the fans cheer on the 33-year veteran. Shiga bows to everyone and all the wrestlers bow back, except for Bunrakuken Torii, who just gives him a head nod. Maeda hands him the flowers and bows respectively to Shiga. Shiga takes the microphone and thanks everyone for coming out to the show. He's enjoyed his time in the ring and looks forward to what's ahead for himself and BCG. He promises to give them everything he has left in the tank tonight and bring home one last victory! Miura & Yoshizawa did not click at all with Roku, barely letting him in the match. On the other side, American Ambition was a well oiled machine. Findlay and Bulldozer tossed around their opponents, while Gauge directed the monsters as if he was standing in front of an orchestra. The closing stretch saw Miura bounced off the apron by Bulldozer after Findlay flattened Yoshizawa with an Atomic Spinebuster. Yoshizawa struggled for the corner, but Sotomura rested both elbows on the corner and gave Yoshizawa a look as if to say "Oh, NOW you want to let me in, the match?". Findlay followed with another Spinebuster and made a quick tag to Gauge, who locked in the Proton Lock on Yoshizawa who had to tap. Sotomura had not moved an inch and stood staring a hole through Gauge from the corner. Sotoumura again repeated the words he did at the opening night of the tour, "Nagoya", and exited up the ramp. Result Greg Gauge defeated Inejiro Yoshizawa in 19:36 by submission with a Proton Lock Match Rating Yoshizawa's Note: Good way to keep heat on two championship matches coming up later in the tour. </div> <div style="padding: 10px; border: 5px solid #C1001F; margin:10px;background: #FFFFFF; max-width:85%;box-shadow: 0 4px 8px 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2), 0 6px 20px 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.19); background-image:url(https://i.imgur.com/AjdP60g.png);background-repeat:repeat-y;background-size:contain;background-position:center;"> Main Event Masayuki Shiga Retirement Match Masayuki Shiga, Bunrakuken Torii & Tasuku Iesada vs. Funakoshi, Yoshinaka Taku & Tanyu Toshusai The crowd is electric as they await the arrival of the six-men in the main event. Funakoshi, Taku, and Tanyu make their way out first. Torii is the first out from Shiga's side and carries the BCG World Championship to the ring. The crowd ERUPTS as Iesada is out next and confidently strides to the ring, giving a head nod of respect to the fans for welcoming him to BCG. Last out is of course Masayuki Shiga, who comes out donning a full Samurai helmet and gets an extended entrance. Shiga starts the match against Yoshinaka Taku, and Shiga looks like the 20 years ago version of himself! He goes through all the greatest hits like lariats, a boston crab, and some vicious suplexes. Taku has to scramble to his corner after a 2-count. The six-men take turns in the ring with each getting a bit of an advantage, which is quickly shut down by the next fresh man in from the other team. A showdown occurs after a few rapid tags and suddenly Funakoshi is standing across the ring from Tasuku Iesada! They take a moment to nod to one another, each recognizing the skills of the other, then begin to circle each other. Iesada strikes first and is quickly countered by Funakoshi. They stalemate each other for a bit when Funakoshi unleashes a deluge of strikes that Iesada no-sells. Iesada then counters with the Iesada Barrage, a set of repeated knee lifts that have taken out many opponents over the years. Funakoshi is knocked back by the strikes but no-sells them as well! The two then have a vicious vintage puro striking exchange with neither man backing down, exclamation pointed by a Lariat from Iesada that turns Funakoshi inside out! Sensing the momentum, Iesada tags in the veteran Shiga as Funakoshi tags in Tanyu Toshusai. Slick counter moves abound as the two trade holds with Shiga finally latching on a Deadlift German Suplex on Tanyu in his corner. He's done it! Shiga hit his finisher and Tanyu is dead to rights in Shiga's corner!! One.....Two..... Bunrakuken Torii reaches over the ropes and tags himself in!!! Shiga had him beat! What is he doing?!?! Shiga looks on incrediously as Torii comes in the ring. Torii clearly feels he is the one who deserves the spotlight and goes to work on Toshusai. A Spinning Forearm Smash nearly takes Tanyu's head off as he covers him in the corner. One.....Two..... Iesada tags himself in! Torii is livid now! Iesada wags a finger at Torii, hits a lariat on Tanyu and points to Shiga. He tags in the veteran and tells him to finish it off. Torii and Iesada get into a staring match in the corner as Shiga looks back at his teammates. Tanyu out of desperation shoves Shiga into the corner turnbuckle head first and crawls to the corner to Yoshinaka Taku. Torii and Iesada are shouting now as Iesada rips into Torii verbally for taking Shiga's moment in the sun. The two get chest to chest and almost come to blows, when Torii sucker punches Iesada!! The two men brawl outside as Shiga looks on. Meanwhile, Tanyu has made it to the corner and tags in the fresh Taku who grabs Shiga in the corner and hits the Full Nelson Bomb!!! One.....Two..... Three! Yoshinaka Taku has done it! He sends Shiga out on his back in his last match! Iesada and Torii are throwing everything they have at each other now on the outside as Torii sets up his Spinning Forearm Smash that Iesada ducks! Iesda counters and locks in the Iesada Special (Seated Front Choke Sleeper) on the outside! Torii goes out! Iesada grabs the BCG World Championship from the announce desk and holds it up over the passed out Torii! Do we have a new challenger for the biggest prize in BCG? Iesada says yes! Yoshinaka, Funakoshi, and Tanyu help the veteran Shiga up in the ring as Iesada joins them. All 5 men raise their arms and salute the fans as the show fades out. 16. <p>Really excited about the new product ratio/AI Booking in that it now is taking context into account at all. Should make things much easier going forward.</p><p> </p><p> I know you mentioned the list isn't final on the list of different booking styles, so as a hope that we get some variance within the different basic/puro/lucha styles here are the actual match ratios of real world companies over the past 2 years (Yes, I'm a maniac and have actually charted these off of cagematch for every company in Real World Chronicles).</p><p> </p><p> I'm happy to do these at a historical level (i.e. 90's AJPW) if it will help as well.</p><p> </p><p> The point of all that above, is that you mentioned there might be more to add to the "styles" part of AI booking and I'm hoping they'll be a suggestions/ability to patch in new ones thread just like products as people unearth different styles while looking at different companies.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="edk9wHa.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/edk9wHa.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> You can see BJW, DDT, NJPW and DG run ~30% singles matches, while AJPW, NOAH, STARDOM, and W-1 are around 40%, and ZERO1, Sendai, OZ are closer to 50%. So, while the distance from BJW to NJPW isn't that different, BJW to ZERO1 (22% singles to 50% singles) is very different. It feels like there should be maybe 3 puro "styles" from the above to use as a base, then let the individual product of each company tweak.</p><p> </p><p> Also of note, hardly any 3 or 4 way matches for anyone in Japan outside of Stardom and SEAdLINNNG.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="UZ1vgzD.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/UZ1vgzD.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> In the UK/AUS it's a lot more homogenized with maybe 2 ratios in general and EVE as the outlier.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="1AMoBc2.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/1AMoBc2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Canada looks similar to the UK, while Mexico has IWRG which almost looks like NJPW's ratio, DTU and AA who run a ton of tag matches, and CMLL who runs an absurd amount of six-man's.</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="zlZCDXM.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/zlZCDXM.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Finally, USA where ROH and Chikara are the only ones who make any heavy use of 6-man matches.</p><p> </p><p> Again, SOOOO excited that AI will take touring shows into context now, should really help make things feel more realistic. Thanks!</p>

There will be a product that is <em>literally</em> to model NOAH. There will be a product that is <em>literally</em> to model NJPW. Worrying that NOAH and NJPW wouldn't be different is to really to misunderstand the whole thrust of the new design, which is that you're sacrificing approximations (which is the best you can do with TEW2016 - you can't, for example, accurately model NJPW currently regardless of what you do) to gain much higher accuracy.<p> </p><p> Either way, I would recommend you simply wait for the game and try the system for yourself - if you end up hating it, so be it, but (having played it, and gotten the feedback from the others who have) I am very confident that once people have gotten over the fact that it's different, it'll be a very popular change.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This sounds awesome. So we'll be fine with submitting things in the suggestions thread that have a lot of similarities but 1 or 2 at/above or below "medium" level product settings under the current setup?</p><p> </p><p> My main concern is that we would get for example like 3-4 "puro" products and say "ok, that's everything in the history of Japanese wrestling past, present, and future".</p><p> </p><p> Like I mentioned it's hard to see all the under the hood benefits of the new system as I know you are still developing and tweaking. My chat with DerekB in the discord server leaves me bullish on how it shakes out to actual game situations. I understand you have to play poker a bit with what the system actually does as of now, so it's very likely you are just operating under knowing a heck of a lot more info than me at the moment.</p><p> </p><p> And, you've never made a game that I've hated <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> We're good there.</p><p> </p><p> TEW, WMMA, & WreSpi have gotten too much play time to the detriment of the rest of my life to say I ever hated anything <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

They're not in the least bit interested in the theoretical, they want practical results - does the game allow them to model WWE well, NJPW well, AEW well, and so on. (And for fantasy mod players, it's the ability to do all the "standard" products, a lot of variations, and a few offbeat / outlandish versions.)<p> </p><p> TEW2020 does that, does it significantly better than previous games, and makes it a million times more intuitive in the process. Sacrificing a lot of theoretical products that have never and would never be used is a drawback, yes, but we're talking about a very minor negative for a very big positive for most users.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I get it. I also know there is likely a ton more you haven't said yet about the new "depth" of the product system that will help make it clearer. I'm excited to learn more about it in upcoming entries.</p><p> </p><p> I'm simply pointing out that to ask everyone to think up any product they would want to use AND login to the forum AND post in the thread is a big ask for your player base, when a lot of them probably don't even know that they have the option to do so.</p><p> </p><p> When everything about the game is super-customizable, and then it is announced that some of that is going away, for the main way the game differentiates how companies behave it's hard not to see it as a homogenizing of some of the things that makes promotions unique.</p><p> BJW today is not the same as early 90's FMW. Stardom isn't the same as Sendai Girls. NOAH is different than NJPW. I'm worried about some of that uniqueness that we can show in 2016 is being lost is all. Looks like I'll be contributing heavily to that suggestions thread <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> I love the thought of the things you can't say yet as to the depth of the new product system and all that. It sounds like the AI has seen a significant improvement in how companies behave which is awesome.</p><p> </p><p> Like I said I'll continue to support it with my wallet.</p>
