  1. <p>Great idea!</p><p> </p><p> Punk vs Austin</p><p> Kento Miyahara vs a juiced up mid-90’s Dr. Death Steve Williams</p>
  2. <p>Great suggestion NLG.</p><p> </p><p> I 100% agree this is needed for mod makers to make things easier.</p><p> </p><p> More examples of things you can't do:</p><p> - Filter by venues in an area (say, Japan)</p><p> - Filter by companies in an area</p><p> - Show only active/retired/out of business workers</p><p> </p><p> Filtering for sure is an essential piece to ensuring you have balance for almost anything in a mod (workers in an area, companies, matches, locations, etc...) and would be a nice thing to add back in to make it easier to balance our game worlds.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> EDIT: Jeez, it's just called "Search" now, like Mammoth mentioned. I see it now</p>
  3. This ^^^ and the very limited options in terms of AI booking styles are the two things that stick out to me at the moment in terms of outstanding issues with the gameplay/modding itself. Promotions like a 92-96 FMW (who yes ran deathmatches, but also technical masterclass, "different style" matches, and goofy lucha comedy type matches) isn't really available in the current setup. As of now we basically have 2 "booking types" for lucha and puro which isn't really reflective of reality. Actual match ratios over the past 2 years for Japan/Mexico I mentioned it when these features were announced, but I'd be happy to canvas all of the "real life" booking match ratios that promotions use at the moment to give us more options here. I know before we could set them to: 1v1 2v2 3v3 Triangle 4-Way I'm pretty sure Adam mentioned there are now 8 of those types available under the hood (times the 5 show types available) giving each of the styles roughly 40 sliders to play with under the hood. If someone (Adam?) can give me a heads up as to what they other 3 match types are I'd be happy to do the leg work to give us some variety in the AI booking styles based on how real companies book. I already did this for Real World Chronicles in 2016, so adding a few more match types to my breakdown would be relatively easy.
  4. Onita laying on top of Terry Funk to save him from an exploding ring. FMW 4th anniversary show
  5. CM Punk (I'm from Chicago, so...) Roddy Piper (bagpipes, that is all) Steve Austin (I'm starting to realize I have a "type" based on these first three...) Toshiaki Kawada (STIFF) Meiko Satomura (best technical wrestler ever, there I said it)
  6. I'll be cleaning up this and some other minor Japan tweaks for next release

See a full preview of the lineup below! Azumamaro Shimizu Seven Match Trial Series - Match #7 Funakoshi vs. Azumamaro Shimizu The last of Shimizu's seven match trial series concludes in Osaka! Shimizu has showed well all tour but is yet to notch his first victory. He now faces his toughest test yet in the face of BCG, Funakoshi. Will Shimizu continue to rise to the occasion or will he melt under the pressure from Lionheart? Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix Qualification Match Naozane Goto vs. Rokuemon Matsushita These two massive competitors have been at each others throats since the beginning of the year. Yoshifusa Maeda had seen enough of the antics and demanded these two settle it in the ring, with the carrot of a spot in the most prestigous tournament in the company on the line. Which big man will exert his will on the other and book his spot in April's Grand Prix? BCG Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix Blocks Announcement Yoshifusa Maeda The blocks will be announced for the 5th iteration of the BCG Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix. The reveal of the competitors for the prestigious tournament always comes with a few surprises, and Maeda has promised to make this the best tournament yet. BCG Junior Heavyweight Championship Tournament Final Match Frankie Perez vs. Razan Okamoto Frankie Perez got off to a slow start in BCG after being hampered by an injury during the Heritage tour in January. However, the well-traveled fighter has shown his top form throughout the BCG World Junior Heavyweight Championship tournament knocking off the likes of Tobei Sugimura, Extraordinario Jr (OLLIE) & Stone Yoshikawa on his way to the finals. Dawnguard’s chief lieutenant has had no easy road of his own either through the tournament, knocking off Hidekazu, Totoya Munakata & Orange Tsuchie to book his ticket to Osaka. Things got personal in Nagoya after the two almost came to blows in a post-match staredown. Does Frankie have enough in the tank after taking serious damage to his legs vs. Stone Yoshikawa? Is Razan looking for some momentum to roll into April and defend his Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix tournament win? Join us in Osaka to see who will be crowned BCG’s first World Junior Heavyweight Champion! BCG World Tag Team Championship Match ©American Demolition (Big Bruiser Findlay & Bulldozer Brandon Smith) vs Miura & Yoshizawa (Inejiro Yoshizawa & Noritoshi Miura) Faction warfare comes to a head in this matchup for the BCG World Tag Team Championships. American Demolition have proven every bit the monster gaijin tag team wresting the World Tag Team Championships from Team Taku last month. Yoshizawa & Miura have proven their mettle after winning a #1 contendership match over Black Iron Corps earlier in the tour. Will it be American Ambition or Dawnguard who come out on top in the opening salvo of what proves to be many matchups between the two premier factions in BCG? BCG World Championship Match ©Bunrakuken Torii vs. Tasuka Iesada Iesada came in to honor his friend Masayuki Shiga’s retirement match and teamed with Shiga & Torii to help his friend ride off into the sunset victorious. The champ, Torii, had other plans. As Shiga had the match won and his opponent folded up in the corner for the victory, Torii tagged himself into the match to steal The Last Warrior’s spotlight. Iesada took offense and a huge brawl ensued that ended with Iesada standing tall and holding the BCG World Championship over an unconscious Torii. The two tangled in a six-man match at Generations in Nagoya with Iesada ending up on the winning side again. A post-match altercation saw Torii try to decapitate Iesada with a Spinning Forearm Smash while holding his championship, but Iesada moved and Torii floored BCG founder Yoshifusa Maeda instead! Will Dawnguard’s rebellious leader continue with his iron-clad grip on the biggest prize in BCG? Or will the icon Iesada start the dawn of a new age in BCG? Come see the above matches plus Black Iron Corps, Blast Ikoma, Greg Gauge and the rest of the BCG roster! Having learned his craft via the independent scene, May 2010 saw Yanagimoto join the promotion in time for their very first show. A very solid worker with an excellent grasp of psychology, Yanagimoto really broke through when he won - and then retained - the EXODUS Junior Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament title in 2012 and 2013, defeating the legendary junior wrestlers Burning EXILE and Super Joshuya in the respective finals. Originally trained by WLW (although he left before officially graduating), when he first started out he was a skinny high flier with a shock of bright yellow hair. It was after he was forced to sit out the latter half of 2010 with an injury that he morphed into his current persona, returning with his hair back to its natural colour, a good 40lbs of bulk added to his frame, and a brawling style that was far more effective than his old 'spot monkey' style. Yoshifusa Maeda is furiously scribbling notes on a sheet of paper by the lone desk lamp in his office Yoshizawa yawns, "What time is it Maeda-san? I needed that sleep after last night's show. How long was I out for? I feel like I slept for six months." Maeda replies with an incoherent grunt as he barely looks up from his notes. It doesn't look like Maeda has slept at all. Yoshizawa continues, "Have you been up all night?" Maeda replies with another grunt. I have to hand it to Yosh, he's been all-in on taking out Modern Japan since the beginning of this thing. Maeda finally gets out something resembling words, "Well someone has to put these Grand Prix blocks together..." Yoshizawa, "Yeah, yeah... Alright, I'm up. How can I help?" Maeda, "Here are the blocks, you know who we want to win this thing. Do your thing and get us there. I need to go put some road work in and clear my head" Maeda tosses the notes towards Kazu's general direction and heads out the door. Kazu picks the pieces of loose-leaf off the floor and begins to try to interpret the chicken-scratch that is Maeda's handwriting Yoshizawa says to no one in particular "Well, damn. Time for some coffee I guess." Maeda pokes his head back in the office after changing into his running gear, "That's right Kazu, it's time to assert ourselves as the dominant promotion in Japan. Did you think the lion was sleeping because he didn't roar?" Kazu smiles. Here we go again with these lion proverbs... Kazu's focus goes back to the pages from Maeda. Wait he wants to do what in this tournament?!?! This old man may have officially lost it now. On the other hand... it's so crazy it just might work... </div> -------------------- OOC: So, it's been a minute since we have visited Black Canvas To be honest, I burned myself out on TEW between this diary and the real world mod I help Fleisch with. I got a new position at work as well (which I LOVE), but it has definitely ate into my free time over the last 6 months and my desire to write has waned because of it. For all of you who have read my puro ramblings to this point in the thread, I want to give you a sincere thank you. Whether you followed this from jump or found it late and binge-read it at a later date, we are green lit for another run with the real puro standard-bearer in the CVerse. This lion (BCG) isn't dead. There's still a great story in here to be told, and I want this lion to roar a bit before the new game drops as BCG has been my favorite promotion since I began in TEW. So... new year, new start. I always planned to circle back and finish off this BCG run in time for TEW 2020 to be released. I have a bunch of shows written and back-logged to post. I'm not sure how far this lion will run, but for the meantime, we are back on the hunt. One of the best parts of wrestling is the unexpected return. Consider this mine.

  20. FMW Showcase Card Live from Fujitsu Stadium Kawasaki (formerly known as Kawaskai Baseball Stadium - Home of the FMW Anniversary Shows) Shown Live on FMW TV (Onita has mentioned you can pay for FMW TV via PayPal, Venmo, mail-order check, or his preferred, carrier-pigeon) ---------- Opener - Six Women Tag Team Match Miyu Yamashita, Misaki Ohata & Hiroyo Matsumoto vs. Chihiro Hashimoto, Sakura Hirota & Mio Momono Aces abound on one side. Hash, Hirota, Momono might be my new favorite 6-person team. Hash brings the power, Momono the speed/techincal brilliance, and Hirota the comedy as she convinces you she not a good technical wrestler even though she really, really is. ---------- Special Six Man Tag Team Match - Toshiaki Kawada Official Retirement Match Toshiaki Kawada, Joe Doering & Hiroki Goto vs. a reformed NEXTREAM (Jake Lee, Naoya Nomura & Yuma Aoyagi) NEXTREAM get the band back together and Kawada (my favorite all-time) goes out on his back to Nomura ---------- FMW World Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship SHO & YOH vs. KENTA & Naomichi Marafuji vs. Rey Mysterio & Jushin Thunder Liger Triple threat junior tag to hit our quota of triple threats for any big showcase card - CHECK Reformed KENTA & Marafuji tag team - CHECK Mysterio & Liger in a team - CHECK, CHECK, CHECK ---------- FMW World Junior Heavyweight Championship Hiromu Takahashi vs. Dragon Lee It's a re-tread, but what a re-tread it is. These two are magic together. Who pulls the bunny out of the hat this time (or is it a cat)? ---------- FMW Six Man Street Fight Tag Team Championship - No-Rope Barbed Wire Time Bomb Double Hell Deathmatch Atsushi Onita, Masato Tanaka & Jun Kasai vs. Minoru Suzuki, Daisuke Sekimoto & Kevin Steen What, you thought Onita wouldn't put himself on the card? Just be lucky it's not the main event The old guard is there to bleed and sell. Suzuki tortures them, Sekimoto tries to dislocate backs and hips via suplexes, Steen jumps off high things into broken things ---------- WWA Women's Championship Meiko Satomura vs. Mayu Iwatani Joshi's final boss puts Mayu through the seven circles of hell. Mayu fights brilliantly, but facing a top 3 wrestler on the planet (notice I didn't say women's wrestler) is too much. Probably ends with a Scorpio Rising after a Death Valley Bomb ---------- FMW Brass Knuckles Tag Team Championship LIJ (Tetsuya Naito & SANADA) vs. The Violent Giants (Shuji Ishikawa & Suwama) Best tag team in the world vs. LIJ. Naito and SANADA have so much swag... ---------- Main Event - FMW Double Championship Kento Miyahara vs. The Rock Oh, the selling in this match would be otherwordly... The Rock drops the People’s Elbow right into a Kento Shutdown German Suplex Hold. And we have a new biggest wrestling star on the planet
  21. - What was your goal in drafting your roster? Create a "wrestling potpourri" type roster similar to FMW's big shows in their later stages of the 90's. Some deathmatch, with some high-level Joshi, some "style battle" technical matches and some goofy lucha fun. - What pick(s) were you most excited about? Kento and Naito with the first 2 picks, Kenoh, Nomura, KENTA, Mio Momono, Sakura Hirota - Are there any picks you regret? Goto maybe? Like NJPW I'm a little unsure what to do with him - What were some picks made by others that you really liked? Uncrewed: La Sombra, Velveteen Dream, Bandido, PCO willr0ck: Kana, Hojo, Ember Moon, DASH Tardelli/Alpha: Nakamura, Ishii, Dragunov CreeperGav: Uso's, Revival, Hero Juanster: Aleister Black, Fenix, Gargano Larrikn: Ibushi, Shingo, Nakajima, Go LucianCarter: Flair, Nikki Storm Dr_Avalanche: Everyone, really... everyone. Kodaka, Roooooosh, WALTER, Hino GooseRobb: Punk, Sheamus, Buddy Murphy - What were some picks made that puzzled you? All the below not necessarily puzzling as they all fit the product, but maybe going earlier than I expected in the draft. That said, everyone has their reasons... Uncrewed: Gable willr0ck: Su Yung Tardelli/Alpha: Tony Khan CreeperGav: Ziggler Juanster: Cody Larrikn: T-Hawk LucianCarter: AJ Lee Dr_Avalanche: Kodaka (but it was a killer pick as I would of totally grabbed him at some point if available) GooseRobb: JBL - What company other than your own would you be most likely to watch? BWF - Okada, Omega, Styles for the top of the card. The Joshi picks are firmly in my lane, and I can stream it all on BWF World W-1 - I NEED an AXIZ vs. Ibushi/Tana match in my life. Make it happen Larrikn SHINE - High-level women's wrestling with some Joshi sprinkled in. Sign me up. LU - LAX vs. Mexa Blood... yup - How do you see your promotion unfolding once you're able to play it? Lots of variety. Ton of Joshi talents to pick up and add to the division. We blow up the ring at some point. Kento wins everything, always... (To this effect, should have a "showcase" card up at some point today too)
