<p>As a a giant AJPW fan, I co-sign this as well.</p><p> </p><p> I really like the idea of show importance variance. Sometimes AJPW gets K-hall on their first show, 3rd show, 8th show, or last show. Whenever they do, that's when they hold their "big" event for the tour.</p><p> </p><p> It would be a good excuse for players to do "produce" type shows or honor someone's anniversary at the promotion as well if there were multiples. There's always 1 or 2 tour shows that feel more "special" than the others than just the tour opener or closer.</p>

It would also "reward" long term booking and storytelling. When Shaun turns on Marty, Batista gives the thumbs down, Seth hits the big dog with the chair from behind, etc... it will actually reward you for building it up AND give you incentive to try something new. Right now, there is no "reason" in game to break up a tag team or stable, a lot of times the bonuses they provide outweigh the benefit. This would add a strategic layer where you could catapult the groups momentum when you spin them off.

So, right now, this is simulated by "turning" someone or a gimmick change in non face-heel products. Going to the tag team, stable, or manager screen after and just removing them kind of falls flat in terms of a "big moment". I feel like maybe a road agent note for the angle where it "dissolves the team", leaves the stable, fires their manager, etc... could be an opportunity to add a little heat to the segment. The amount of heat added could be based on how long the team/stable/manager has been together, with obviously more established teams adding a lot of heat to the segment (Rockers for example) while short term teams imploding may not move the needle at all.

The manager will help get them over if you pair them together in angles where the manager is driving it at the beginning. For matches, the manager won't add to the rating really themselves, but if you get a good chemistry note, it would help boost the match level (thus getting the worker over faster) so they could help indirectly.

Yes, anything that would be carried around like a title and "defended" after the tournament win would make sense here. MiTB or something like the Young Lions Cup in CHIKARA are good examples.

Yeah, you read that thread title correctly On the worker, company and editor screens (maybe more?) there are two "Search" buttons. The top one is an actual named "Search" that allows you to type in text and get results based off of it. The bottom "Search" is actually a filter, which filters out anything that is already in the list it is filtering. I would suggest keeping the top one named search and renaming the bottom one "Filter". It's confusing to have two buttons named the exact same on the same screen, but that function completely differently when you click them. Again, there may be more screens that have this problem too. D-Lyrium, This is a WONDERFUL post. I agree with basically all of your points. Absolutely, if something is not a "fit" for the product, there should be penalties assigned to replicate it did not fit the expectation of the product. The point that I (and I can only speak for myself here) am making is that the premise that 100% of people "agree" on what a product looks like is the problem. In previous games in this series, if you and I disagreed (even slightly) what a product looked like, you or I could change it. Now, neither you, or I, have the ability to control that directly. We can choose from a list, yes. That list may have been crowd-sourced, tested, vetted and agreed upon by 90%+ of people. This is great and most if not all of the products that are in the game are actually setup perfectly well. It's that, before, if I disagreed, I could change it to how I saw it to be. Same with worker stats, angles, match types, etc... Now I can't. Again, I can only speak for myself personally here, it's not that I am trying to min/max things, dissolve all penalties, that I need to "git gud" at the game, or that I am trying to cheese my way to good ratings. Before, people could specifically "set" the expectations for their audience. It's the failure to recognize that people disagree on what a product "is" when they look at it that is the sticking point for me. Now, if I disagree, my only recourse is to: - Look for a product that is very different than my current one - submit a request to change an existing product setup, wait weeks for it to get in (if it does), which will then inevitably upset other people who thought it was "right - submit a request to add a product, even if it is a slight modification, and get it deemed worthy of putting in the game I want to echo again, I agree with pretty much all your points. The system should penalize things that aren't "on brand". There should be expectations that you need to hit on your product. It's the fact that you can't create what you want that brand to be anymore on your own. That's the problem for me.

Because Abdullah The Butcher vs Bruiser Brody in WWC is a cage match, but then so is Big Boss Man vs. Hulk Hogan on Saturday Night's Main Event, and they are<em> light years</em> apart in terms of risk, violence and intensity.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Completely reasonable play style and one I employ quite a bit.</p><p> </p><p> Here's 4 other use cases that have also been completely reasonable, that would be a "reason" for wanting to edit the product instead:</p><p> - You are creating a mod and testing out different settings for each company to see how the user experience of that company is going to be. It's mostly there, but you want to fiddle with a few things to get it "just right" for your vision of the company and the people who play your mod.</p><p> - You just spent an hour setting up a local to global run, hiring workers, made a sweet graphic using Mario Paint and are ready to roll. You fire up your first show and see some dings for a preset product you don't agree with.</p><p> - You are a new player and you finally get the chance to implement that company of touring midgets doing rock opera on stage while a masked luchador battles valiantly against a cage fighter that you always wanted to create. You browse the product settings and, alas, your lucha-MMA facemelter of a promotion can't come to be.</p><p> - You want to? I mean, you can edit everything else in the game, right? I can make Abdullah the type of guy to bring home to mom, resurrect Brody, turn Sarge into an ayatollah supporter (oh wait... that happened) and make Hogan the slickest in-ring worker of all time. I can edit a pillow fight into an extreme danger match (the feathers!!!), why can't I tweak the product to get the vision of the company I want to play?</p><p> </p><p> Again, the point is that before ALL play styles were valid. It seems like we are gunning for EUIV Ironman runs instead this time around.</p><p> </p><p> If that's the goal. Totally cool. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't be surprised when people raise their hands then and say "hmm, that's different".</p>

Thanks for the specifics. Let me also say, I'm not going after "you" in the singular here (or anyone specific for that matter). The FMW products in your example don't explicitly require 100% deathmatches, but they do require: - Fans expect dangerous, gimmicky matches at all times - severely penalize comedy matches - require that all matches be aimed as Deathmatch, Hardcore, Wild Brawl, Car Crash, or Mayhem I'm not trying to "convince" anyone that the way I see a specific promotion is the "correct" way or anything like that either. For some, heck for most, the above may be the perfect representation of FMW in their mind. For me, it's not. FMW of course had explosions at the top of the card, but it also had "different style fights" pitting MMA/boxing folks against wrestlers, Megumi Kudo putting on technical wrestling clinics that would be perfectly in place in AJW, and goofy lucha six mans where the primary focus WAS comedy. You can see a taste of that here: https://www.cagematch.net/?id=1&nr=10128 But, before I get lost in the weeds, the debating minutae on what is in or not in a promotion is my exact point. The way I see a promotion is, can, and frankly in a lot of cases should be different than how the collective "you" may see it. We are all shaped by our tastes in wrestling. The rub here, is that a lot of people are coming off like they "know" wrestling better than you, me, or someone else. Things like: - This thing "should" penalize A, B, or C because of X, Y, or Z. - Angles should be limited to X minutes or else you lose the crowd. - Of course you can't run this match in this promotion, etc... I've never had a TEW tell me that there is a right or wrong way to play. Before, if I disagreed, I could remedy that and get back to playing. Now I can't. However, I also am self-aware enough to realize I may be coming off as a negative nancy here. There are various nits to pick on certain products, yes, but there is a great game under the hood. I mentioned this in previous posts, but I adore the new stables system. I love that my baby BCG survived and is thriving in the CVerse. TCW is still going strong, etc... The new product system may not be my jam at the moment, but the reason I'm posting about it is because it is sooooo close to being right on. There is a lot to like for a lot of people and Adam DOES HAVE a great track record of incorporating user feedback into making his game better (it's why we all love it after all). I'm confident that he'll put out and improve upon a great game like he always has.

I'll pick a few specific cases just for giggles, but again, I want to reiterate, the fact that I (or anyone else) have to answer this question to "prove" what is "right" for a product is the entire problem itself. - Why is a product tailor made for Big Japan (Slobberknocker-Deathmatch Combined) not tagged for them when I search by name, then not good for either the strong or death match division? - Why does the default product for ACPW hate the majority of people on the starting roster? - Why does the default product when you search for FMW only include 100% death matches (did Hayabusa or Megumi Kudo not exist?)? Again, it's totally reasonable that those 3 above are setup perfectly to your expectations. And that's great for you. However, it doesn't "feel" right to me. Before I could fix that. Now I can't. Why do I need to "prove" that a product should be tweaked when I can edit literally everything else about the game? I don't need to prove to you that Kenny Omega's selling should be dropped because I think he oversells. I can edit it. I don't need to justify creating a freestyle angle where Wolf Hawkins just stands in the ring and looks cool because I think he's the bee's knees. I can just create it. I don't need to get an "OK, you can do that" from some higher power to hold a battle royal in a ring in the middle of a swimming pool and surround it with landmines when I want to channel my inner Atsushi Onita. I can just do it. Why do I need to submit a suggestion about adding a product when I want to make something that is my own (or, replicate a real world setup that isn't in a preset list)? It just does not make sense.

Again, I think some are missing the forest through the trees here. Wrestling is SUBJECTIVE. We aren't measuring the velocity of a free kick, the spin rate of a curveball, or someone's 100M time. Different people are going to look at the exact same promotion and see it differently. There are no hard and fast rules for what is "right" for a certain product. In previous games, everyone could be "right". If you liked what was preset, great! If what you thought WWE "should" be like was different, you could set it in 1 minute fiddling in the editor and get back to business. Now, you can't, plain and simple. The aboslute best case scenario given the current setup is that Adam is going to have to play whack-a-mole adding new products in patches (which will still leave people unsatisfied because there is no way he gets everything “right” for every person or all the suggestions “in”) vs adding new features to or improving the game. So, if you happen to agree with how some of the products have been setup, fantastic! That's awesome for you. However, a lot of us don't. And the fact that we can't tweak it to be the way we see it, like we have been able to since TEW 2007 (I think?) really sucks.

I’ll add a bunch more on this topic later, but this is a big issue for me. At it’s best in the current state, Adam is going to have to play whack-a-mole adding new products in patches (which will still leave people unsatisfied bc there is no way he gets everything “right” or all the suggestions “in”) vs adding new features to or improving the game. And at worst he’s alienated his user base and they decide to stay on 2016 to play “their” company. I don’t think people have a problem with contributing To add new products, etc... It’s the feedback loop of weeks to begin playing a game you want to play that’s the big issue for me. And that’s assuming the product you want to play actually gets deemed “necessary” and put in. It’s 2020 and a game we have been able to edit the product for years. You shouldn’t have to wait for an official patch from the developer to play the game the way you want to play it. The sheer number of people wading into the beta reaction thread and asking if they can edit products is a clear indication that this has not been communicated well. And it’s day 4 of the beta.
