  1. Fans in the front row were bowing to his genius. Best 3 minutes of TV let alone wrestling I've seen in awhile.
  2. So tonight one of the security guys who held back Randy Orton was one of the guys from my school. Congratulations to him.
  3. I don't even own a television. The only TV I watch is sometimes I'll watch a whole season of something on Netflix if they have it streaming. Just finished the entire run of West Wing and I'm working on Season 1 of Highlander.
  4. Bolded part mean I assume you're not from the US. I stated before that in I believe most European countries the barman gets payed a living wage and doesn't need the tips to live. In the US which has a tipping culture, tipping jobs are not required to be payed even the mandatory minimum wage because they assumption is at the very least they'll make up the difference with tips. So The person that's serving you is relying on your tips to make a good wage. In the US you don't tip at McDonalds because they make minimum wage, you don't tip at the supermarket because they make minimum wage (if they don't then tha'ts another story but they should be making at least minimum wage.)
  5. I manage a bookshop and yes I'll take a phone call when I'm on the clock, but only within reason. If I'm behind the register I won't touch my phone especially if there are customers there, I won't do it I expect my employees not to and they don't. If you were in a shop were an employee was talking on the phone at the register then management is not doing their job. Here's how I work it. 1) If you get a phone call while you're doing something that doesn't involve helping a customer then by all means take the phone out of your pocket and see who it is. If its your mom, or your child or some one else who could be calling you for an important reason then pick it up. If its your buddy and you know he's just calling to ask you about going out later then don't 2) If you have a customer or are working register then let it ring and finish what you were doing and then ask me for a minute to return a phone call. 3) If you know its a BS call I'd prefer you actually wait for your break instead of asking for a minute to make a call, but truth is I'll never know but I give my employees the benefit of the doubt and as far as I can tell they haven't been taking advantage of it (if the number of times I'm asked to have a minute for a call is any indication.)
  6. If my mom's husband calls and says she's going into the hospital I need to be able to answer my phone then and there. If my sister calls and says my brother got held up and I need to run and get the kids from the sitter because I'm closest then I'm answering my phone. My expectation of my employees which has been met to date is that you know the difference between an emergency call and not. You see you're buddies number on the screen you put your phone back in your pocket, your with a customer you wait til you're done and call back. If its your mom and you pick up for a second find out its not an emergency and say I can't talk now then that's fine too.
  7. I don't go to buffets so I don't have first hand knowledge. For crappy service I'll still tip 5% for on average serves I tip 10%. If I get good to great service I'll tip 15% to 20% atht's jsut my rule of thumb. As for expecting it because of the way the dynamics of how they make money it has become expected to be tipped. But really I say if you're going to work a tipping job then do the job well enough that its worth you being tipped. As for government and the laws I don't know. I'm just glad I live in a state that has a minimum wage higher than the federal minimum (there are only a handful that do) and there are even some states that have States laws in place that allow for no or lower minimum wage, so really its not just the fed its states exerting states rights. But knowing how things work I tip because even if I don't like your service I don't like the idea of people not being aple to pay there rent went a dollar or two extra out of everyone they served would have brought them up to minimum wage.
  8. In case my sister calls and needs me to go get her kids while she's in class. In case my mom ends up in the hospital again. I need cell phone just in case. Ya know what I manage people at a small shop and I would never tell them they can't have their phones on them. they're adults I expect them to know when the time is to use the phone and when its not. If you give your employees that amount of respect, they'll respect you back. Which is why if my employees need to make or take a call they come up and say "hey I need to take this" or "Can I take five minutes to make a call".
  9. not realyy that it does or does not bother me but I went to High School with this kid who was one of hip hop kids and he was into that style and i used to hang with the goth kids all into vampires and stuff. He was kinda interested in the vampire stuff as well and he got him self a top grill that had fangs, it was kinda cool. L33t speak. I think you're just going to have to get used to it, much like Ebonics its not going away. As a matter of fact there's some guy who did his thesis paper on linguistics at some ivy league school and wrote the whole paper in L33t speak to boot. I understand the sentiment though as I hate being "aksed" a question which always sounds like "Axed" to me but according to a friend who's got a degree in linguistics its "aksed".
  10. Understandable. I have had this as well but usually I'll still leave something minimal. When I was a teenager and I thought I was getting bad service I would do mean things like leaving the tip under and upside down glass of water but I grew out of that.
  11. The cook usually gets paid over minimum wage but the tips from the waiter also get split with the busboy who busses their tables much like the bartenders tips get split with the bar back who keeps the bar clean, restocks the beers and changes the kegs.
  12. Tipping a bartender or waiter is totally different than giving money to some one for nothing, at least in the US (and I think Canada). I know in a some European countries people don't tip but that's usually because Bartenders and Waiters there get paid a decent wage. In the US Bartenders and Waiters are paid with the assumption they are making a lot of their money on tips, which means their actual wages payed by the establishment are under minimum wage which is allowed by law if you have a job where you make money by getting tipped. So yes tip your bartender, especially if you expect to be served in a timely manner. If you don't mind piss poor service then by all means don't tip. Personally I tip $2 for the first two or three drinks, usually makes the bartender remember you then $1 a drink after that, $2 if I get a buyback. Being a good tipper means getting a free drinks more often, if I'm a regular I usually get one every 3rd drink at a new bar every 4th, which is pretty good cause most bar owners will tell their staff no buy backs or every 5th or 6th drink. So yeah if you can't tip don't go to the bar, unless your a regular and you really need a beer, having one bad day at your regular bar means the bartender will understand that your strapped and in a bad mood. But if you can't afford to tip then drinking at home is your best bet as your paying less for beer and you don't have to tip the guy at the corner store. edit: Typing and helping customers means I got beat too it.
  13. I'm not gonna quote all the posts but he'll yeah to corporal punishment for kiddies. I'm not saying you punch 'em in the eye but the belt never caused any permanent damage to me or my siblings. I got caught shoplifting at tower records when I was like 14 and it was me and my friend. The security guards were giving us good cop bad cop and my friend was crying his ass off so they decided they need to be all tough with me. They asked me why I wasn't crying and I told them because there's nothing you can do to me that my mother won't do worse when she shows up and I just sat there and read my book. Sure enough mom came and got me gave a polite good by to security and beat the hell out of me all the way down the stairs and out the door in front of everyone. Suffice to say I never did that again.
  14. Well looks like I could use some belts. Two for now if some one has the time. IPW All-Island Championship and IPW All-Island Tag Team Championship
  15. The young lion system can be activated in any region you like in the game setting in the editor but it is based off the system used in Real Life Japan for young wrestlers. It is currently set only to be active in the Japan region with the C-Verse data and I'm pretty sure most real world mods only have it set there as well. As for what it is in Japan the fans expect the veterans to be able to win over any of the younger wrestlers as the "Young Lions" have not payed their dues in the business. The fans refuse to believe that some fresh from training or development youngster can actually beat an established star. How this works in game I believe (some one will of course correct me if I'm wrong) is that workers under a certain age (it's either 25 or 30) who also have a low reputation (under D+) are considered young lions. As to what settings allow for young lions I can't remember with 100% accuracy off hand but I'd assume high levels of Traditional, Pure and Realism. Take a look at the products for any of the C-Verse Japanese feds to get an idea of what the setting should be.
  16. Not that I ever had much respect for him before but now I'm really not gonna be able to do anything with Citizen X without laughing.
