  1. I can't speak for the other poster, but yes, I have done that. 20% event bonus, Exclusive written, whatever their signing bonus was I rounded it up (think it was about $7800 and I rounded it up to 10k), various contract lengths (they were offering 4 years, which in my experience wrestlers don't like... but I tried everything from 6 months to 4 years) and people would still rather sign for TNA than my WWE. Granted, a mod is a bit different, but I'm by far the bigger company, and they had lots of friends in my company. Something just isn't right.
  2. I'm with you on this, I even posted it in the Small Questions thread. I'm almost certain I was matching the event bonuses too.... but the one issue I may have faced is, at the time, I had very few events on the schedule because I was adding them as and when I wanted them. I didn't know if the game was smart enough for people to take that into consideration when negotiating contracts... maybe it's not, but that's the only explanation I could find. Other than that, I do think something is broken. I can match an offer EXACTLY, and offer them 5 times the monthly pay as well as matching all the other benefits, and they still won't consider it.
  3. I was more talking about, for example, when TNA would tape a month of impacts in one sitting. I think NXT was similar not long ago too?
  4. Thanks for the response Remianen, I'm fairly sure I did match their event bonus, but I'll be sure to check that when I next do it. What might not have helped is I had all my events set to inactive and was only putting them on the schedule when I wanted to book them due to an incident where I forgot to move an event and ended up having to book a PPV when I still had roughly 3 weeks of build planned... so maybe they were seeing I didn't have any events for them to get the bonus? I wasn't sure that would effect it though. As for my second question I posted, I'm now wondering if having too many shows air on a PPV network negatively effects the numbers? I put Smackdown on my PPV channel, even though it's also on regular channels, simply to get SOME coverage in India. The first 2 weeks got about 30,000 buys (with like 3m viewers elsewhere) but then the number died completely after that... and my ACTUAL PPV (Backlash) tanked badly. I've now removed Smackdown from the PPV broadcaster.... does anyone know if that will return things to normal? If I've screwed up and all my PPVs are now going to do horrible numbers then it's probably game ending for me. Luckily this wasn't a serious game, I was rebooking WWE in 2004-2005 exactly as they did in an experiment file... but I still can't get my head around bigger coverage + better time slot = worst numbers ever, by a mile, unless it's either A) I messed up with the Smackdown thing or B) Internet PPV is just not viable whatsoever.
  5. Yes, and it makes sense, but I don't think it's quite how it would work in real life. I could easily be wrong as I've never been to a bulk taping, but I do remember reading some spoilers in the past from bulk tapings that would always say something like "We aren't sure which matches happened on which episode" and I assume this is because they don't tape in order, episode by episode, but rather they tape the stuff that needs certain guys and then let them go home and move on to whatever else. From that perspective for the talent there really isn't much if any difference between taping 3 episodes of TV where you have a match on each episode, or 1 episode where you wrestle 3 times. I don't have an issue with how the game chooses to interpret it though, as I said before, I think it probably is the fairest way to stop people exploiting it.
  6. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="TheChef" data-cite="TheChef" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="51411" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Would you work four times and accept pay for just one? No? Why would you expect your workers to?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This is a fair point, but what I've found weird about it is you can book someone to wrestle 4 times on one episode and pay them only once, or you could pay them to wrestle twice on 2 different episodes and have to pay them twice. </p><p> </p><p> That said I think the way the game handles it is probably the "fairest" way, but it does make it very hard for companies to launch their first TV show. I'm still not really sure when it's viable to do that as a small company.</p>
  7. <p>What am I missing when it comes to negotiating with people who are already employed, but on a Handshake? Several people I've approached I've offered a deal that they'd accept, then their current employer offers them a better deal, which is fine, but when I then go and negotiate again, no matter what I offer, they continuously tell me they've had a "better offer". I just had someone who was offered $8000 a month by TNA but considered that better than me (WWE) offering them $20,000 a month, even though I matched everything else (contact length, signing bonus, merchandise cut etc). This has happened with a few other negotiations too. Are people just bias towards sticking with their current employer?</p><p> </p><p> Edit- To add a second question...</p><p> </p><p> I kept getting messages after my PPVs saying I wasn't gaining any popularity due to lack of viewers in each region. This makes sense because the only broadcasters in the game for PPV had "very small" coverage. As a result I launched my own broadcaster, with "Small" coverage everywhere, and a Prime Time slot (which is a huge improvement from my previous time slots). The result was my PPV got the least views I've ever had, by quite some way. Why would that happen?</p>
  8. How do you delete someone from a game that has already started? I was trying thar the other day and just couldn’t find it. If it is possible then this sounds like the best solution.
  9. So unfortunately just as I found a TEW save I was getting into my old laptop has decided to die on me. It was probably due an upgrade anyway so I have a new one coming. I can access the old one still but wouldn’t like to do so for an extended period of time. My question is... is it as simple to transfer to a new machine as deactivating the licence on the old one, downloading the game again and then putting in the number from my purchase email? Is there anything else I need to do?
  10. Below a certain popularity it costs more to run shows than you make. It’s not financially viable to run weekly shows until a certain point, unless you’re happy living in debt and paying it back later.
  11. So I'm running a UK indy fed and I signed Dolph Ziggler after he was released from WWE. On his debut for the company I had him join my heel stable and capture the World Title from my top guy, David Starr. Immediately, Ziggler approaches me saying he wants to put over Sonya Deville because she is so talented. I of course could have ignored him, but I love booking around things like that, so I went and had Sonya dethrone Dolph on the next show, which made her a huge star. She wasn't good enough in ring yet though to carry the title so my next big event was headlined by Sonya Vs Dolph Vs Starr where Starr regained the title. During the match Sonya botched so bad that Dolph suffered a "family death" That's what you get for trying to smash that glass ceiling I guess.

I cant find the option for it anywhere</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Click the yellow arrows above their popularity. This brings up contract details and you can release from there.</p>
  13. In my experience, if they’re unemployed they always say yes and if they’re employed they always say no.
  14. I just hired a new announcer and he appears to have excellent experience with everyone I put with him, even people that I asked to be commentators who have never done it before. Can this happen with certain workers, or is that a bug? Feels really weird to me.
  15. Yea, I have tested this and my conclusion is it isn’t close to being worth it.
  16. WWE loaned Randy Orton to NXT for one night and had him dethrone Cole just to immediately vacate the title.
  17. Looking at it closer it seems like "Show Costs" were down but "Production" costs stayed the same per episode. Had I known that, I never would have recorded any TV, as I was only doing it to try and gain some popularity. The nerf to internet broadcasters meant I was never going to make any money from it anyway.... I probably need to start over, unfortunately. I can use the editor to fix things, but that feels too cheap. Another 2 months of TV tapings will cripple me though.
  18. Experimented on this for myself and turns out not only do you pay full worker costs for each episode (makes sense I guess) but also full production costs for every episode too? Makes it pretty much pointless.
  19. This is probably a stupid question but if I bulk tape TV do I pay people per episode they appear on or is just one payment per taping? I would assume you run into penalties if you do this and use the same agents/referees etc?
  20. Yea, I couldn't explain it. The Mod was converted from 2016 so maybe that caused it. I've since started a new game with the same mod but after it has been released for 2020 and not seen anything as bizarre was D-Von and Mike Kanellis yet.... However, the Rumble PPV, while featuring a Rumble this time, was then main evented by a 10 man Battle Royal. I didn't realise this was a known issue and figured it was weird AI booking. If it is a known issue then yea... I'm still getting it (on patch #19).
  21. So my first experience of TEW 2020 was playing the January version of this which I converted from 2016 and I loved it. I’ve had a quick look at the BETA today and it looks very good but I wanted to ask if something has changed with the relationship between WWE and NXT? Previously I wasn’t able to change my product but now I can and I feel like something is different with the contracts too (though I can’t put my finger on exactly what). Also the production page flags everything in red because it seems to think I’m competing with WWE?
  22. In my NXT game, the very first episode of RAW featured The Viking Raiders dropping the tag titles to..... Mike Kanellis and D-Von Dudley. The pair then mainly appeared on Main Event, usually in tag matches but not with each other. The Royal Rumble PPV didn't feature a Rumble match and was headlined by Brock retaining the title in a Triple Threat against The Undertaker and Shane McMahon. All seems pretty realistic to be honest.
  23. You can't run an event without selecting broadcasters. I mean, you could go to the screen and select none, but you can't just forget to select them.
