  8. PRE SHOW Komander beat Ari Daivari in 6:31 by pinfall. 48 RAMPAGE Saturday, week 1, February 2024 Covelli Center, Youngstown, Ohio (3,700 capacity) The Young Bucks stride to the ring, still wearing their blood stained white suits from brutally attacking the new World Tag Team champions, Darby Allin and Sting, last week with Nicholas' especially stained in a lot of blood. Matthew and Nicholas claim by taking out Darby and Sting last week they are protecting the stupid and the old from further harm and they should just hand over the World Tag Team Championship to the EVPs now... but then the lights go out... and stay out but Sting's voice can be heard and he has an eery warning for the Jacksons... to expect the unexpected... to stay alert at all times... and that Revolution will be Showtime... the lights then come back on and Sting is in the ring standing behind the Bucks, with a baseball bat in each hand. The crowd are going nuts as Matthew and Nicholas slowly turn round... and Sting puts the point of each bat in their throats. Matthew and Nicholas can't escape the ring fast enough, in fact they practically fall out of it. They look like they have seen a ghost as the quickly retreat up the ramp. 66 v AEW LEAGUE The Golden Lion Club ('The Ocho' Chris Jericho & The Lucha Brothers (with Alex Abrahantes)) v Team WooItsNathan (Kip Sabian, The Butcher & 'The Murderhawk Monster' Lance Archer (with Jake 'The Snake' Roberts)) A decent match and one where Fénix was very impressive. He certainly helped The Golden Lion Club to maintain their one hundred percent start though it was Jericho who picked up the win over Kip Sabian in 10:21 by pinfall with a Lionsault. 64 Fénix out performed everyone else (78, next best Penta 68). Jericho, Butcher and Archer were all off their game. Archer and Roberts have zero chemistry even though Roberts did good work ringside. The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass are backstage with Lexy Nair, fresh from their tag team win over Gates of Agony on Dynamite. The World Trios champions do an early scissor and are brimming with confidence as they say they won the tag match on Dynamite and they will beat them when they defend the Trios titles at Revolution. 52 v Jamie Hayter (with Rebel) v Megan Bayne The much awaiting return from a long injury layoff for former Women's World champion Jamie Hayter and she looked very impressive. She dominated Bayne and got an easy victory in 6:08 by pinfall with a Falcon Arrow. Hayter is certainly back and the rest of the women need to be wary. 55 Hayter far out performed Bayne 63-39 Renee Paquette is with Serena Deeb backstage. Deeb says she is angry with herself about last week. She let her concentration slip and she lost to Tenille Dashwood and let her team down in the process. She says it won't happen again as matches are fought with your body and your mind... and she is using techniques to sharpen and focus her mind. 55 v OWEN HART FOUNDATION MEN'S TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND Billy Gunn (World Trio champion) v Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana) A decent match though Swerve was simply way, way too good. He won in 8:55 by pinfall with a Swerve Stomp. 64 Strickland far out performned Gunn 75-37 Le Sex Gods are backstage, each holding a baseball bat. Chris Jericho says they are ready to take it to the street at Revolution and end Don Callis and his family once and for all... while Sammy Guevara says he has done some crazy shit in the past... and he's prepared to do it again as he hates Don Callis and his family. 51 v AEW LEAGUE The Spooky Club ('The Icon' Sting & Malakai Black) v Black Lotus ('Rated R Superstar' Adam Copeland & 'Alpha' Konosuke Takeshita (with Don Callis)) A decent match with a good crowd, though Sting did seem to struggle to keep up with the rest somewhat. Black Lotus ended up taking the points when Takeshita pinned Black in 12:20 with a Touchdown. 64 Sting performed worse than the others (50, next best Black 63) Takeshita benefitted from being flavour of the month. Renee Paquette is behind the entrance curtain getting a quick word with Ricky Starks prior to the next league match. Paquette asks Starks for his thoughts going into the match. Starks says last week was brilliant when he picked up two wins and he's about to get another. 70 v AEW LEAGUE TV Network (Johnny TV (with Taya Valkyrie), Matt Cardona & Will Ospreay) v Timeless Ensemble (Darby Allen (World Tag Team champion), 'Absolute' Ricky Starks & Christian Cage (TNT champion)) Timeless Ensemble clearly are struggling to be on the same page in the ring. Darby Allin's had issues in the past with both of his partners while Starks' and Cage's egos are so big they can be seen from the moon. Even so, they had enough to win this match, especially as Cardona turned out to be the weak link. Starks pinned TV in 11:34 with a Spear. 61 Cardona was worse than everyone else (50, next Starks 64) Cardona and Starks benefitted from being flavour of the month. Cage benefitted from being in amazing form. Christian Cage stays in the ring after the match and is joined by Killswitch and Nick Wayne. Cage issues a warning for Adam Copeland and Daniel Garcia... to stay out of Patriarchy business or suffer the consequences... Copeland and Garcia don't seem worried and they come to the ring... but rather than engage in fisticuffs, Copeland says he has a challenge to Cage he might want to listen to... Copeland challenges The Patriarchy to a tag team match next week... if Copeland and Garcia win, they both get a TNT Championship match at Revolution... though if they lose, neither can challenge for the TNT Championship while Cage is the champion... Cage has a think, a huddle with The Patriarchy but telling Copeland he's on, and he'll never get this title. 59 v AEW LEAGUE The Peak of Perfection (Thunder Rosa & 'The Virtuosa' Deonna Purrazzo) v The Bryan Danielson Appreciation Society (Riho & Hikaru Shida) Three former Women's World champions in this league match and they showed why in a decent match. But then Purrazzo is certainly no match and a probable Women's World champion in the future and she proved why in 13:50 when she submitted Shida with a Venus di Milo. 59 Miro speaks from backstage. He says he is fed up of waiting to get in the ring, he wants to hurt people. He also mentions CJ Perry, saying anybody she takes on as a client is not business for him... it's personal and they will get hurt. Badly. 60 v Blackpool Combat Club v FTR & Mark Briscoe A hard hitting main event and the best action of the night. The two team traded blows as often as they traded holds, which is how most if not all of them like it. The match went the way of the BCC in 17:08 when Yuta made Briscoe tap out to a Yuta Lock. 69 - match of the night Mark Briscoe benefitted from public support. Show rating: 67 AEW increased popularity in 3 regions Attendance: 3,700 (sell out) TV rating: 0.98 (737,657 viewers and 1,043,634 overall) QUICK RESULTS Blackpool Combat Club beat FTR & Mark Briscoe Thunder Rosa & Deonna Purrazzo beat Riho & Hikaru Shida (league match) Darby Allin, Ricky Starks & Christian Cage beat Johnny TV, Matt Cardona & Will Ospreay (league match) Adam Copeland & Konosuke Takeashita beat Sting & Malakai Black (league match) Swerve Strickland beat Billy Gunn in Owen Hart Foundation Men's Tournament First Round Jamie Hayter beat Megan Bayne Chris Jericho & Lucha Brothers beat Kip Sabian, The Butcher & Lance Archer (league match)
  9. NEWS Brent, Max Caster, Mercedes Moné and Daniel Garcia returned clean drug test at the Dynamite and Rampage tapings. Pro Wrestling FREEDOMS have risen to Small. CJ Perry has been getting very involved with promoting body positivity. Her work has been welcomed by charities and mental health professionals and has seen her gain many new supporters online, some of whom are not wrestling fans.
  10. RAMPAGE Wednesday, week 1, February 2024 Broadcast on Friday, week 1, February 2024 Covelli Center, Youngstown, Ohio (3,700 capacity) Rampage starts with Daniel Garcia backstage. He is relishing tonight’s main event, saying he wants to fight the toughest and the best and he wants to beat them to make a name for himself. 54 Best Friends (with Orange Cassidy) v Top Flight (with Action Andretti) A decent and even match which concluded in 9:10 when Beretta pinned Darius after a Strong Zero 60 Everybody was even in performance with only 2 points separating all four. Next up Don Callis is backstage with his Family. He says he welcomes the street fight at Revolution against Le Sex Gods and he tells Jericho and Guevara they are going to get badly beaten by two very bad men. 58 OWEN HART FOUNDATION WOMEN’S TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND Mariah May v Nyla Rose (with Marina Shafir) A lacklustre match and not much interest from the crowd, Rose advanced in 10:18 by pinfall with a Beast Bomb. 47 Jon Moxley is seen sitting at the bottom of some concrete steps. He tells Daniel Garcia he likes his attitude. He likes it that he wants to fight the toughest and the best… because Jon Moxley is the toughest and the best so Garcia knows he needs everything he has and more to have any chance of winning. 61 OWEN HART FOUNDATION MEN’S TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND Darby Allin (with Sting) v The Butcher (with Kip Sabian & The Blade) A decent match where The Butcher continued his impressive work without chalking up a win. Allin goes to Round 2 in 11:39 by pinfall with a Coffin Drop. 64 Allin out performed Butcher 68-52 Backstage and Eddie Kingston is pissed off… nothing unusual. He directs his anger at Bryan Danielson, saying that Danielson supposedly respect everyone and the wrestling business… but he has showed Eddie Kingston no respect when he has been defeated. He wants Danielson in the ring so he can beat some respect into him. 67 Daniel Garcia v Jon Moxley A good match and a shock outcome in 12:15 when Garcia won by pinfall with a roll up. Moxley looks on in shock as Stephon Smith raises a delighted Daniel Garcia’s arm in the air as Rampage goes off air. 67 – match of the night Show rating: 65 Attendance: 3,700 (sell out) TV rating: 0.06 (51,549 viewers and 81,440 overall) QUICK RESULTS Daniel Garcia beat Jon Moxley Darby Allin beat The Butcher in Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament First Round Nyla Rose beat Mariah May in Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament First Round Best Friends beat Top Flight
  11. PRE SHOW Private Party beat The Boys in 8:15 when Isiah Kassidy submitted Brandon. 53 DYNAMITE Wednesday, week 1, February 2024 Covelli Center, Youngstown, Ohio (3,700 capacity) v AEW LEAGUE Team WooItsNathan (Kip Sabian (with Penelope Ford) & The Butcher) v TV Network (Johnny TV (with Taya Valkyrie) & Jay Lethal (with Sonjay Dutt)) A decent match but yet again The Butcher impressed and lost. Jay Lethal won for TV Network in 8:59 when he pinned The Butcher with a Lethal Injection. 61 TV was clearly the best in the match (69, next best Lethal 58) TV and Lethal showed excellent chemistry. Penelope Ford did good work at ringside. The World champion Samoa Joe comes to the top of the rope to speak to Renee Paquette. Just looking at Samoa Joe you can tell he's pissed off. He says last week some coward attacked him when he wasn't expecting it... and while he never got to saw his face, the fact he was dressed all in black says it's probably The Devil... so if it is you Adam Cole... you're a dead man. 74 v AEW LEAGUE Black Lotus ('Rated R Superstar' Adam Copeland & 'Alpha' Konosuke Takeshita (with Don Callis)) v Timeless Ensemble ('Absolute' Ricky Starks & Darby Allin (World Tag Team champion)) A good match, and one that was pretty even until Starks and Allin had to be an actual team. With the former World Tag Team champion clearly still having issues at having lost the titles to one half of the current champions, their teamwork was pretty much non existant. Copeland and Takeshita don't really get on either, though at least they did a bit of teamwork for the good of the team. This helped Black Lotus to win in 15:10 when Takeshita made Allin pass out to the Wall of Takeshita. 66 Takeshita and Starks benefitted from being flavour of the month. Backstage and a limo is seen with the picture in black and white. This can only mean one thing... a star is here... 'Timeless' Toni Storm. Luther lets out the Women's World champion only for her to be immediately attacked by Deonna Purrazzo. The two just can't wait for Revolution as they trade blows. Purrazzo is getting the better of Storm when Luther bundles her back in the car and the limo speeds back off, leaving Luther behind to eat a slap from The Virtuosa. 49 v The Acclaimed (World Trios champions, with Daddy Ass) v Gates of Agony (with Prince Nana) A decent match and one The Acclaimed certainly had the better of. Their superiority translated into a win in 10:18 when Max Caster pinned Bishop Kaun with a Mic Drop. 54 Bowens and Caster benefitted from being flavour of the month. Caster benefitted from public support. We then go backstage where we see United Kingdom (without Adam Cole) giving a rather severe beating to Danhausen. The poor fella doesn't look very nice or very evil as he lays near motionless on the floor as Roderick Strong tells Orange Cassidy all his friends will suffer before Revolution... and he will suffer at Revolution. 46 v AEW LEAGUE Team Swerve (Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana)) v The Bryan Danielson Appreciation Society (Jon Moxley) A very good and very even match which could have gone either way. As it was, it was Swerve who took three points for his team in 15:45 by pinfall with a Swerve Stomp. He's beat a former World champion in Moxley... does he deserve a shot at Joe despite last week's draw? 70 - match of the night Strickland and Moxley have pretty good chemistry. Tony Khan and Adam Page appear on the arena video screen as Strickland celebrates in the ring. His look goes from one of celebration to one of puzzlement. Tony congratulates Swerve on his impressive win tonight and he says he's done a lot of thinking since last week's number one contender match which ended in a draw... and he's decided that at Revolution both Adam Page and Swerve Strickland will get a shot at Samoa Joe's World Championship in a three way match. Page looks somewhat aggrieved while a broad smile appears on Swerve's face. 62 v AEW LEAGUE The Golden Lion Club (Claudio Castagnoli) v The Peak of Perfection ('Switch Blade' Jay White) Another decent match, the night has gone well so far for wrestling action. Perhaps a little surprisingly, Jay White had the better of the match. However, The Peak of Perfection's perfect start to the season ended as The Golden Lion Club extended theirs in 13:43 when Castagnoli won by pinfall with a Neutralizer. 64 White benefitted from being flavour of the month. In a pre recorded segment, Jim Ross in interview MJF in the former World champion's house. MJF says it has hurt physically being out of action for so long and it has hurt mentally at being out of action and losing the World Championship to Samoa Joe. MJF says he will come back in two weeks, he hopes his torn labrum is fully healed and will withstand the rigours of the ring and God willing, he will very soon be on the path back to the top of the mountain. 78 v Mercedes Moné v Saraya (with Harley Cameron) The first of two big debuts tonights sees Mercedes Moné show the AEW fans what she has for the first time... and it couldn't have gone any better as she looked very, very good and pretty much dominated a high level opponent in the former Women's World champion. Moné took a debut victory in 10:36 by submission with a Big Business Deal (formerly known as a Bank Statement). 66 Harley Cameron did good work at ringside. Saraya suffered from being in poor form. Backstage and Renee Paquette is talking to CJ Perry. Paquette asks Perry what she is in AEW for... Perry replies she is looking for clients to take to the top... Paquette asks Perry "What about Miro?"... Perry thinks for a moment before replying that this is business, it's not personal. 60 v Jack Perry v Will Ospreay The second massive debut tonight sees the Aerial Assassin take on Perry who made a successful return to action last week. The match was decent, though it's clear Ospreay is a huge talent in the ring and at this stage in Jack Perry's relatively young career, a class above him. Ospreay took the win in 14:26 by pinfall with a Storm Breaker. 68 Ospreay far out performed Perry 73-53 Like last week, everybody thinks this is the end of the show... but in scenes eerily similar to the end of Dynamite last week, from a distance down a corridor we see a figure dressed all in black making an attack... but this time it's not Samoa Joe who is the victim... As the cameraman rushes closer it is Swerve Strickland who is lying on the concrete in agony, yelling "son of a bitch" and again the black clad man is nowhere to be seen as Prince Nana also has rushed to the scene to check on his main man. Who is behind the attacks... and is Adam Page next? 69 Show rating: 69 AEW has increased popularity in 24 regions. Attendance: 3,700 (sell out) TV rating: 1.13 (849,754 viewers and 1,489,918 overall) QUICK RESULTS Will Ospreay beat Jack Perry Mercedes Moné beat Saraya Claudio Castagnoli beat Jay White (league match) Swerve Strickland beat Jon Moxley (league match) The Acclaimed beat Gates of Agony Adam Copeland & Konosuke Takeshita beat Ricky Starks & Darby Allin (league match) Johnny TV & Jay Lethal beat Kip Sabian & The Butcher (league match)

  20. VOTE RESULT Proposal 1 gained 7 votes Proposal 2 gained 0 votes Therefore proposal 1 is carried. Team WooItsNathan remains in the league for season 1 and for as long as WooItsNathan is not participating, I shall randomly select his wrestlers for his matches. Of course, if he resumes participating he resumes the running of his team.
  21. People going missing for a while is a realistic possibility and has obviously happened. This is why I haven't made fixtures for the whole season, I make them game week by game week using a random number generator. While this does have the drawback that a certain team can be facing the same team or two in quick succession and some teams have successive game weeks where they only have one match, it does give me a far greater degree of flexibility if somebody has to take a period of time away from the league for perfectly legitimate real life reasons. And while two teams might face each other two or three times in the first four weeks of the season, over the course of the whole season every team faces every other five times, once in each match set up, so it evens itself out over the season. Anybody who lets me know, I can allow them a period of time where they have no league matches and can catch up on their return, or alternatively I can limit the number of matches they have for a while or randomly select their wrestlers while they are away if that is what they prefer. The difference with WooItsNathan is that he has 'gone missing' for quite a while now and I have no idea why as he's not let me know. Hence the difficult situation I'm in as to whether his team should continue and hence why I put it to a vote. I am really enjoying running the league as an integral part of an AEW dynasty, even intertwining some storylines into the league. It does take a lot of 'admin' to keep track of fixtures, league tables, creating the matches on top of keeping track of all the wrestlers, tag teams and trios win loss records. I wouldn't do it if I wasn't enjoying it, if it was a chore. I hope everybody who is part of the league is enjoying participating and if so I hope that continues for a long time. While it might take you a while to choose your wrestlers both in the initial draft, to make up your squad and for each match, believe me it takes me a lot longer running the league.
  22. I'm logging off for the night now. It's just turned midnight and I'm up at 7:30 as I'm taking my wonderful children to the local soft play centre. I'll be back online tomorrow night once they have gone to bed. I'll catch up on any messages, votes, queries or anything else then and announce the next round of fixtures. It will be quite a quick turnaround for the next few rounds as I'm on annual leave and don't return to work until a week on Thursday. If anybody will struggle with the increased pace for a couple of weeks because of your day to day lives please let me know and I'll either return the pace of the league so far to a normal pace or alternatively won't schedule matches for you for every week to help you out.
  23. LEAGUE STANDINGS After 3 weeks 1. The Peak of Perfection - 6 matches, 18 points (6-0-0) 2. The Golden Lion Club - 5 matches, 15 points (5-0-0) 3. The Bryan Danielson Appreciation Society - 6 matches, 10 points (3-2-1) 4. Black Lotus - 6 matches, 7 points (2-3-1) 5. Team Swerve - 4 matches, 6 points (2-2-0) 5. Timeless Ensemble - 4 matches, 6 points (2-2-0) 7. The Spooky Club - 6 matches, 6 points (2-4-0) 8. TV Network - 5 matches, 3 points (1-4-0) 9. Team WooItsNathan - 6 matches, 0 points (0-6-0) (wins-losses-draws) Table is correct before the league vote that has just been announced.
