Basic things you used to be able to change aren't possible anymore. </div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Like what? Genuine question, I don't know.</p>
  2. Me: An avatar I like. Everybody else: High numbers in in-ring skills.
  3. Cverse 97. Now that I've grown used to this mod, I couldn't imagine playing default Cverse. Default data doesn't have enough wrestlers to debut in the future - enough for the next 2 years, yes, enough for the next 20, no. I like long games and the default Cverse made me sad when the randomly generated content wasn't as good as the handcrafted stuff.
  4. No, but they weren't stuck in the midcard for 20 years while Sami Zayn main events Wrestlemania either. It could also simulate mega-pushes like Brock Lesnar where he was beating main eventers shortly after his debut. TEW's default AI would take years to build him up to that level. There are many cases in real life when unpopular and stale wrestlers are pushed again and again. An example would be Jeff Jarrett in TNA around 2005. The fans would chant "Triple J" and "please retire" at him but he was still perennial champion. Young fans forget how tiresome Hulk Hogan was in WCW after a while. He always had his mainstream fame but that's different from the power to draw a crowd. Crowds didn't want to see him after the nWo got stale. If his popularity was hurt in game, he'd slide down to "upper midcarder" but that's silly, everybody knows Hulk Hogan must be a main eventer, no matter what, even if he's turning fans away. Using the "never below main eventer" clause helps to simulate situations where the booker and fans clearly disagree. I find it's also entertaining to make Land Mass a main eventer in workrate promotions like BHOTWG. He was tanking those cards in the beginning but after a few years he was pulling in A* matches. Atta boy. If you don't like my ideas, fine. You don't have to play like me. You don't have to agree with me. It remains that this is one less feature in TEW2020 that we had in TEW2016. That might not affect you but it affects me and (probably) many other people.
  5. Because that's what happens irl. Bookers don't wait for the fans to pick stars based on "workrate" or "charisma." They find a golden boy and strap the rocket to them, smashing them over whether the fans like it or not. If Roman Reigns or Randy Orton debuted in TEW as rookies, based on their actual charisma and in-ring skills they had at the time, they'd be stuck in the midcard. They NEED that "never lower than main event" contract clause so the AI pushes them, then AFTER the big push they become over with the fans on the level that justifies their push. It's why every real life mod either has bizarrely high stats for terrible WWE main eventers, or they have realistic stats and the AI keeps the world title on Bryan Danielson for five years.

Thanks guys. Do you like this change?</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> In the contract screen in TEW2016 you could assign clauses such as "never lower than main eventer" which was good to make the AI push workers who weren't popular/talented. It's gone now.</p><p> </p><p> So I don't like this new system in TEW2020.</p>
  7. As others have said - don't buy until you play the demo. You can play the first three months for free (and continue into month four if you buy the game).
  8. Fog of War: On - Makes sense that a worker's skills are only partially known until they've had plenty of matches. Show stats as grades rather than numbers: Off - Numbers are more accurate. Owner Goals are turned on: On - I don't often play as booker but when I do, I want this turned on. Otherwise, why not just play as owner? This changes the gameplay experience. Penalties for small rosters are turned on: Off - Pointless punishment for small companies who aren't rich. Fans don't care about this, they just want to see good shows. Penalties for repetitive booking are turned on: On - Nobody likes seeing the same thing over and over again. Too easy to spam matches with high chemistry and cheese the game without this. Crowd management is turned on: Off - The only company in the world that books like this is WWE. It's a company I despise, I have no desire to emulate them and in real life this rule only makes their shows worse. Gimmick effects are turned on: On - It's annoying when a gimmick fails for no good reason when a worker exceeds the requirements but a legendary gimmick really spices things up. Worker morale effects are turned on: On - I find the management aspect as interesting (if not moreso) than the booking of shows, and this is part of it. Locker room morale effects are turned on: On - See above. "Dirt Sheet" match breakdown is hidden: Off - Lol why would I hide this? Why don't I just hide my finances and roster too? Assuming I'm an owner who actually watches his own company's shows, I'd know everything in the Dirt Sheet. Oh hey, maybe that's what this option is for, owners who don't know anything about wrestling - they don't know when a match is too long, when a finish is poor, when a worker is being lazy because he has low morale. Turn this "on" for a Dixie Carter simulator. Your PPV buy rates are e-mailed to you: Off - Whether a 0.5 or a 1.0 is good or bad depends on my company, my broadcaster, etc. There are too many variables for this to be useful. The two indicators I watch are whether my popularity increased or decreased after a show, and whether the quality of the show surpasses the broadcaster's requirements. All else is spam. Your TV ratings are e-mailed to you: Off - See above. Industry and economy effects are turned on: On - Some things are beyond your control. What makes you a good owner is not whether or not your crowds decline, but what you do when they decline. Pre booking reminders are turned on: On - I never use pre booking but if I did, I probably wouldn't forget what I booked. Turn "off" for Dixie Carter simulator. Booking times are turned on: Off - I'll voluntarily stick to my TV show's time limit for the sake of immersion, but I want my 10 hour Japanese supercard on PPV. Match ratios are turned on: Off - Not every TV show or PPV has to follow the same format, and I don't want to adjust my product after every event to avoid penalties. My crowds will get wrestling and angles, and a reasonable mix of both for their tastes, but I'm not going to time it with a stopwatch to get them to an arbitrary percentage. "Left off show" complaints are turned on: Off - My written contract guys are getting a paid day off if I don't book them, and I never told the PPA freelance guys they'd be getting booked in the first place, why would they complain? Also, it's hilarious how they love me when I give them time off in the bonuses section, yet hate me when I give them time off by not booking them. Just disable this to avoid illogical complaints. Match aim requirements are turned on: Off - TEW2016's most annoying handcuffs - restrictive, nonsensical, and unrealistic. I don't need these tags to designate which of my matches are comedy or car crashes, that's very evident without them. Momentum effects are turned on: On - Booking doesn't make a lot of sense without this, you can't just throw a loser into a main event and expect it to get the same rating as if he'd won his last 10 matches, regardless of overness. When I find this system too harsh I cheese the game by booking some "major success" angles. Sex appeal requirements are turned on: Off - I like sex appeal but I don't require the game to inform me how much is necessary. Worker overuse penalties are turned on: Off - Not a bad idea in theory but too harsh in practice. I like the idea of being able to base a single TV show around a midcarder finally getting a shot. If he sucks that'll be in the rating anyway, he doesn't need another penalty on top of that. It would make more sense if this penalty was based on how often he was used in a month (or even a few months) rather than a single show. Production effects are turned on: On - Outgunning other companies with presentation is a real thing. It's kinda stupid to watch all my opponents overspending on this and then collapsing into bankruptcy three months later, making me suffer all those penalties due to bad AI, but whatever. Lifestyle effects are turned on: On - Heavy drug use would effect in-ring performance so this makes sense. Show main events at the top of lists: On - This is how it's done irl but doesn't effect gameplay either way.
  9. There is still a long way to go with the UI. I hope Ryland doesn't think this issue is fixed now.
  10. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr Strangelove" data-cite="Dr Strangelove" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="49562" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>It’s definitely WAY too good for the AI.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I just don't understand why one is awesome and the other is abysmal. They should be the same.</p>
  11. Autobooker for AI companies is fine. They score high ratings on every show. But when it autobooks a player company's show it poops the bed every time - low ratings, penalties all over.

I discovered it purely by accident.</p>

This stuff worked fine.</p><p> </p><p> Stop making excuses for bad design.</p>
  14. <p>Many screens are still broken. Disabling new style lists doesn't change this.</p><p> </p><p> No mouse wheel, no keyboard, no purchase.</p>
  15. This is my favourite: http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=533579 It's a 1997 mod so you get to use all the 2020 veterans when they were rookies. You get to play all the companies that you'd only see in the "inactive" section in modern games. There are many added workers and companies too. And the best part? It's made by some of the people who made the official Cornellverse, so it's consistent in theme.
  16. E-license doesn't even stop the game being pirated. It's popped up in several places without any DRM. It only hurts legitimate buyers. It's time to bite the bullet and put TEW and WMMA on Steam. It will have the same DRM as everything else there, it will be protected, and users can install it on all of their devices. GDS can charge a bit more but we also expect patches to be released via automatic downloads rather than the clown fiesta of manual updates in the Tech Support section. As with everything else - it's time to move into 2020, GDS. Your backwardsness is inexcusable at this point, it's hurting yourselves and your players.
  17. Are you using actual wrestlers as generic wrestlers? In your album I see Yumi Ohka, Yuki Miyazaki, Traci Brooks, etc. Sorry but that would drive me crazy.
  18. If Adam makes the tools available I'll do it right now.
  19. Josh did what he could but the current layout is still ugly and counterintuitive. The design choice to remove graphics for skills and stats is a step backwards. It's like I'm looking at a Word or Excel document from Windows 98. I have to manually click tiny arrows and scroll to find information that was easily accessible in TEW2016. The font is anemic. The bottom bar is pure redundant space. The windows in the layout are thrown on the screen with no thought given to where they should logically be, e.g. the workers screen has contract details on the left side, skills squashed in the middle, then more contract details on the right side. Information is repeated in multiple places on the same screen but other useful information is hidden behind tabs or scrolls. https://i.imgur.com/1j0T14J.jpg Contract details on the left, skills in the middle, contract details on the right. On the left it tells me that the worker is employed by TCW. On the right it tells me (again) he has a contract with TCW, it also tells me how much his contract with TCW is worth, and when it expires. All of these things should be in the same box. The information is just all over the screen. Also, what on earth is this screen?: https://i.imgur.com/rWP6Hz6.jpg Why is it not alligned properly? Some text will presumably be filled in here when there are incidents that affect her morale but there's no box for that text, and there's still heaps of empty space all over, including a big gap underneath the biography. There's another sub-menu for chemistry, which is bizarrely on this screen. I'll be surprised if anybody even finds this menu because to get to it they have to do the following: https://i.imgur.com/sfmbyT4.jpg Do you see on the left under USPW Status (yellow text)? If you click "has normal morale" you get to the screen above. That isn't even a button! It's a random piece of white text contained in a larger textbox. To make things worse - if you click the white text above it saying "has neutral momentum," THAT piece of white text leads... nowhere. No menu pops up if you click the momentum text. The text the links to a menu looks exactly the same as the text that doesn't link to anything. How are people supposed to find the screen they need? Just click every piece of text and hope something pops up? That's insane. No game should be designed that way.
  20. You don't need mods. You go to the Fight Engine and reduce the effectiveness of wrestling, submissions, kicks etc to zero. Punch effectiveness remains normal, and it's a 75% complete boxing game. However... 1. Fighters will still attempt those non-boxing moves with the same frequency, so the bouts will be full of missed takedowns and kicks. 2. Fight Engine sets the engine for every promotion, so you can't have one boxing company and one MMA company. Every company in the world would be boxing. A possible workaround is to change the active fight engine before and after every one of your shows (i.e. MMA, then change to boxing, then back to MMA) but this is labour intensive, easy to forget, and you can't run a show on the same day as another company or you'd both use the same engine. 3. This doesn't take into account boxing scoring of knockdowns. There are rounds where a fighter will get knocked down, get back up before the ten count, and judges will only score it 10-9 (or even in favour of the fighter who got knocked down). It would be a few days' work maximum for Ryland to simply take out the non-boxing text from fights (fighters attempting kicks, etc) for a punching-only ruleset, or give us a text editor for fights (he's been monopolosing that like Smaug sitting on gold) so we can do it ourselves. This would be the same process he's already done in the stomping rules - enable it and fighters will stomp an opponent when they're down, disable it and they won't. It's an easy change that involves looking through the database and analysing what is and isn't a legal move under those particular rules. However people have been asking for years for a legacy MMA ruleset and Ryland won't even allow them that. It's impossible to simulate a UFC 1 fight because Adam won't allow it - he refused to write that text, he refused to implement those rules. The ONLY thing Ryland allows is the boring Unified Rules garbage that he's personally a fan of. As sandbox games, WMMA and TEW are both very limiting.
  21. Nobody was getting 5 star squash matches on TEW2016 either. This is an extra penalty on top of the limits that were already in place due to jobber popularity/momentum (which were entirely reasonable).
