Another good show matey. If I'm being harsh, the Orton - Cena confrontations are quite generic and have been done before, but even so you pull it off well so I can't complain. 'Mania's looking good as the card starts to shape up. Best thing about it though has to be Burchill having an A*. What's his overness like? We need to see him main eventing 'cos the guy rules!
I'm hoping to spice things up between them as I go (hopefully! :o). Burchill is around C in most areas, stubbornly taking his time to advance but that A* has made him a marked man! :)

The thrid time was the last time for ECW's rollergirl though as the referee grew tired of her antics and banned her from ringside. The Throwbacks were less than happy at the decision and took the time to complain which gave Burke and Punk the opening they needed. Batista tried to take the Samoan down with a clothesline but Umaga shrugged it off and stood tall, calling for another try by the Animal. From there the match degenerated into a brawl, spilling out to ringside where Umaga took the upper hand as he set to the task of dismantling his former stablemate with whatever came to hand. Shane McMahon ran down to help Batista but was cut off by Armando Estrada who rushed to the entrance to keep Young Simba in check. Chris Masters is next out and the Masterpiece makes his presence felt with a chairshot to the Samoan Bulldozer to allow Batista to take control. Suddenly the crowd roar as the ECW champion, Bobby Lashley runs out to join in, levelling Chris Masters with a Dominator and then spearing Kevin Thorn as he ran out to assist. Umaga rallies and beats Batista back into the ring, lining him up for the Samoan Spike. Just as the move is about to be delivered, Shane McMahon throws Armando Estrada into the Bulldozer's path. Umaga's manager crumples and the Savage stops to look at what he has done. Batista takes advantage by snatching a camera from a crewman and smashing it accross his opponents head. Lashley tries to help but Thorn and Masters manage to drag him back just long enough for the count to be made. Batista def. Umaga by pinfall at 12:09 RATING = B- With Umaga out cold, Lashley is left to face the Corporation alone. The ECW champ grabs a chair and slides into the ring, chasing Batista off. All four corporation memebrs stalk ringside looking for an opening to exploit as The Dominator fends them off with his makeshift weapon. RATING = B Shane McMahon is just about to give the signal to attack when the broadcast transmission fails. Static fills the screen momentariilly to then be replaced by a shaded figure. ??: How does the expression go? You may have won the battle, but you've not won the war? The figure leans forward to reveal... Vince McMahon! Vince: I know what you are all thinking. How can I be on ECW television? Well, truth be told, I can't. But that's ok, because I'm not on ECW television. An entertainment magnate like myself doesn't get far without making industry contacts you know. I called in some favours to utilise this air time to share a very special announcement with you all. I may not be allowed to ever return to ECW but, pretty soon, there won't be an ECW to return to anyway. I said before that if I couldn't control ECW, I'd rather destroy it and thanks to some careful words in the proper network ears, I've done just that. It seems those financial irregularities that plagued the previous incarnation of your show have come back to haunt you Paul and without me to protect you you have fallen foul of the networks once again. You're baby is dead Paul... I killed it. You should never have crossed me. And Shane, no tears for Ceaser? You stepped into the power vacuum like a true McMahon, ready to take charge but you neglected one thing: I wasn't ready to go quietly into the night. The rest of you? Lashley? CM Punk? Umaga? Well what can I say? In every war there is... collateral damage. Its not personal, its just... business. Actually, yeah, it is personal. So anyway, enjoy the next couple of weeks. Treasure them. because at the end of this month, ECW is no more... The image blurs and returns to static before cutting back to ECW where Lashley and the Corporation stand in stunned silence. Styles: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm led to belive that you all watched at home, the same broadcast the we witnessed here. I don't know what else to say except clearly Vince McMahon is a derenged indivi... At times the referee had difficulty keeping up as both sides employed double and even triple team moves in an attempt to overcome their opponents. Rey managed to hit the 619 on Guido but in the confusion the masked marvel had targetted an illegal man and when he went to Drop the Dime, Jamie Noble intervened and flattened him with a powerbomb to pick up the win for his team. They ganged up on your King, two on one, like cowards. They both knew that they stood in the presence of greatness and neither man was a match for me one on one. I will get my due though Lillian, mark my words! My greatness will not be denied! I am Misterrrrrrrrrr.............. Kennedyyyyy................ MVP: Attacked? The lights went out and your fat ass fell over more like! I didn't see anyone else there! Henry squares up to the former US Champ. Henry: Want to say that again? MVP: Why, you deaf as well as stupid? Steph: Hey look, calm down guys. We need to stay on the same page. Your skill, your strength and my brains. Together we're unstoppable. Montel, it was time your sights were set higher anyway. Losing the US Title is a setback but not an unsurmoutable one. You should be looking towards the future: Smackdown Heavyweight Champion. And Mark, whatever happened at the Rumble is water under the bridge, maybe you can bring the US Title back into the fold though by taking it off Christopher Daniels yourself? Henry: Now that sounds good to me! But Steph, about the Rumble, the gong, the lights going out, that can only mean one... MVP: Don't even go there! Henry: Yeah I know but, if it is, well, we all know what I did... Steph: Its ok we'll look out for one another. MVP: Three Musketeers! Nash: He did, his feet were clearly on the ropes. Roni: In the middle of the ring? Nash: Optical illusion, only a pro knows the difference. Truth be told AJ Styles has a bit of a reputation for greasing the right palms, if you know what I mean. Miz: Not really. Nash: Never mind. Now, about your training, how do you think its going? Miz: Well, we haven't really done a whole... Nash: Excellent! Then in that case I'm sure you'll be glad to know that I have a match for you next week. Miz and Roni: KANE?! Nash: Wow there partner! Baby steps. This match will be against someone more your size but more importantly it will give you a chance to try out your new "big man" offense in a competitive match. @lex joins the trio having returned from ringside. Nash: Alex my boy, you did us proud! @lex: Thanks poppa bear but that AJ... its almost inconceivable the way he flouts the rules like that and gets away with it. Nash: Cheats and liars are just a part of this business I'm afraid like when I had to deal with Steamboat back in the day... I had a hard time keeping up with just how many rules he would break in the course of a match! Of course that's when I hit on the idea of the No Hold Barred or "No DQ" match so that I could match his dirty tactics with a clear conscience. Roni: You invented the No DQ match? Nash: Well I don't know about inventing it but I certainly brought it to the mainstream... elevated it to an artform. @lex: Kevin you really are an inspiration to us all. Double C had the strength advantage but Daniels' experience proved the decisive factor. The Fallen Angel confounded his opponent with a variety of innovative moves that kpt Castagnoli on the back footing for the most part. A Brainbuster was countered into a DDT with a cradle into the pin to give Daniels his first successful title defence. Christopher Daniels def. Claudio Castagnoli by pinfall at 14:38 Christopher Daniels retains the WWE United States Title RATING = B- Daniels' celebration is interrupted by MVP's music and the formerUS champ makes his way out for the main event. Daniels' walks up the ramp continuing to celebrate until he comes face to face with MVP. The two men stare down before MVP laughs and indicates that he doesn't care about the belt anymore anyway. Daniels shrugs and walks on a little further before seeing Mark Henry who simply smiles at the Fallen Angel and pats the title belt draped on his shoulder. JBL: When the World's Strongest Man wants something its generally a good idea to give it to him. Cole: I don't think Christopher Daniels is going to take that advice JBL. JBL: Then he's dumber than I thought Cole! Next out is Edge who joins MVP in the ring ahead of their match. The Smackdown Champion calls for a microphone. Edge: So nobody on the roster could win the Rumble and now I'm without a number one contender. MVP, loks the champ up and down. Edge: Well that sound about right since I don't think there is a single person in the lockerroom capoable of defeating the Rated R Superstar. But I'll tell you what. If after you see me defeat these two idiots... even with THIS handicap. Edge points to MVP who looks none too pleased. Edge: If you still fancy your chances, then step up. Kane was dominant in the early going until Mark Henry helped tip the balance in favour of the heels with some judicious interference. The Big Red Machine found himself the "face in peril" as MVP and Edge used quick tags to keep on their larger opponent and prevent him making the tag. MVP hit the Play of the Day and wa about to make the cover when Edge tagged himself in to take the pinfall for himself. The pair argued for a time, giving Kane the breather he needed to get up and clothesline them down. The tag was then made to Jericho who exploded into action against the egotistical duo. Edge found himself in trouble as he couldn't find an answer to Jericho's attacks and the Rated R Superstar sought the tag from MVP who made little effort to help, seemingly enjoying the champion's predicatment. Edge rolled to the outside for respite but was chased back in by Kane and knocked to the floor by a springboard dropkick from Jericho. Y2J locked in the Wals of Jericho and it looked like Edge would tap but the champ made it into the ropes. Just as Jericho broke the hold, Edge grabbed him and rolled him up with his feet on the ropes. With the referee badly positioned he couldn't see the rule infraction and counted the pin! Edge & MVP def. Chris Jericho & Kane by pinfall at 15:52 RATING = B The match over, Edge bails from the ring clutching his title and smirking at having overcome the odds. Even MVP looks angry at the Rated R Superstar's victory. The faces exit the ring as Edge taunts them all from the head of the ramp. MVP and Henry stand in the ring. Suddenly the lights go out and a gong sounds... When they come on again, The World's Strongest Man is lying unconscious behind MVP. Edge stops at the entranceway as Kane, Jericho, MVP and Steph turn to see who, or what, felled the big man. Suddenly the lights go out once more. Another gong and this time when they return the crowd erupt when they see The Undertaker standing behind the Smackdown Champion. Edge realises someone is behind him and turns slowly to come face to face with The Dead Man. The shock sends the champ recoiling back in fright. Undertaker does not move, he raises his hand to point to Edge and the title before dragging a thumb accross his throat. The show closes with The Undertaker's music filling the arena. Another couple of top shows mate. 'Taker's return was good (and an Edge vs Taker match at Mania would be a great idea I think, as Edge should be and is) your franchise player, a great opponent against The Streak. But as always, your best moments are with the undercard. The Nash- Miz- Roni- Shelley segment was as god as ever, and it never fails to entertain. Miz & Shelley vs Regal & Cabana in a feud of the entertaining tag teams would be dynamite!

POLL The Undertaker has returned and the WWE has been put on notice as the Deadman looks set to continue where he left of in dominant fashion. The five time world champion has had a career like no other capped off by an incredible 15-0 unbeaten record at Wrestlemania. Many have tried to topple the biggest dog in the yard, but none have succeeded. With that in mind we are asking you for your favourite Undertaker rivalry.

Okay... I've just finished the two essays that are due tomorrow. But... I've been given another one to do for next week and on top of that it's me and the other half's anniversary, theStart at the Cathouse, my birthday, a long weekend in Edinburgh and then the festive season in short order... Basically, I will endeavor to at least keep this ticking over but I can't make any promises. :o Oh and big thanks to keefmoon, chris caulfield and Oldschool for nominating this in the end of year awards. Cheers guys! :)

Hmmm... I've hit upon what seems a common dilemma for diary writing: Should I continue? Part of me says yes since I am enjoying this particular game but another part says maybe I'd be better starting another diary with a less time intensive promotion so that I can update it more consistently. Anyone care to share any experiences or thoughts on the matter?

If it has become a chore than step away for a bit. See if the fire still burns if yes then come back refueled, if no; then maybe it is time to move on. As I'm sure that keef will attest to, it comes and goes. But ultimately it is your call. Only you can make that decision. PS>I vote to continue, but your vote counts more! :p

Outlaw is right, for me the desire comes and goes. But I find when I step away for a bit it does come back eventually. I think we all get more connected to our own diary than we'd like to admit, so saying you definitely want to end it probably isn't a great idea as you may want to go back at some point. Look back thorugh my diary; there are about 5 times where I say "I've lost the desire for this" only to post a new show a week later. If you don't have the passion for it, maybe leave it for a few weeks or something. Whenever I do that the ideas start flying in and makes me want to go back to it. But if the passion doesn't come back, then you don't ever have to come back to it if you don't want. But at the end of the day it's your call. You have built a great story here and have some big fans of your work, so you know you'll have readers if you keep going. And if you need to drop a brand or something to keep it going that's fine, it's not like we'll stop reading. You have to go with what you want to do.

Anyone care to share any experiences or thoughts on the matter?
Firstly, you should feel no shame or any let down to the viewers if you decide to pull the plug. That decision is yours, and solely yours. Personally, yours is one of the very few diaries I can regularly tune in on, I like it, I'm a Frank Sinatra Style mark fo shore, I really dig the way you were able to bring in the various gimmicks of the "E" in terms of their interactive programming, let alone the actual booking which was very good always. Me, personally, DOWCW ended for me the second I had what was supposed to be my biggest Pay-Per-View, ready to roll, had Steve Austin set to be the masked crusader make a shocking appearance... and you know, I booked in TEW, but I just could not ever put it up. I had it ready, but everytime I clicked "Reply" the words would not come out. It had become a drag. So when my computer sh@t itself, and I lost my copy of TEW05, I knew it was a bit of an omen that this was the end, and whilst it'd been a good run, I wasn't doing this for the right reasons anymore. Supporters of the diary, I love 'em to death. But at the end of the day, I don't know how your life is, but I work 10 hours days plus being on call, plus am married, plus am doing a University Degree online... when it all boiled down it to for me, the death of DOWCW was saying to me hey, setting down and writing out novels of make believe isn't me right now, it's time to kick back and enjoy what you've got, and what it showed me is there is precious little time sometimes to enjoy everything and sometimes you need to make sacrifices. You need to think about what your life is about, where you want to go with it... and you need to understand Frank Sinatra would only do things that were fun to him, he was a playa, he would not get caught into doing something he didn't enjoy mate, and I sense you are the same. Good luck with your decision, if you want to talk it over feel free to PM me. I will always be a supporter of your writing and booking, I really do enjoy it, and I certainly don't think I speak alone with this... so if you do decide to pull the pin, god bless and thanks for a magic run.
