Congrats on the luck of Edge and Double C having great chemistry, you gonna milk that for anything?
My eyes lit up when I saw that. It hadn't been something I was planning originally but I can't rule it out now.
Oh, and just when I thought you couldn't make the @lex/miz skits any better, you throw in Big Sexy Kevin Nash?!? Seriously, I marked out SOOOOOOO hard for that bit.
I had my eye on Big Sexy from the start of the game but wanted to hold off until I had a good way to bring him in. Shelley and Nash are one of the true highlights of TNA in my opinion (and I hate they are kept apart so much now). Plus with Shelley in ring and Nash out, Miz' odds of improving in all aspects look better than ever.
Great job mate, can't wait for Armageddon
Cheers mate and thanks again for reading :)

Of course, the French Phenoms also relied on some liberal rule bending to isolate and work over Booker T in their corner. All it took was one lapse in concentration though and Bookerman was able to make the hot tag to The Bizarre One. A Curtain Call floored Rene Dupree. Grenier went to break the pin but was met with a liplock from Goldust! Grenier fell to the mat and bailed out, selling the smooch like death itself. Booker T had to yell to Goldust to make the pin before he ran up the ramp after him! Booker T & Goldust def. Daffney: Lately both of you have been insulting and taunting the Intercontinental Champion. Ken Shamrock. The World's Most Dangerous Man. Is that really such a wise idea? Especially considering you now have to step into the ring with him tonight? Nitro: What do you mean? Oh you think I'm worried about the "zone"? That Shamrock might snap and go into Incredible Hulk mode?... Melina: Punching himself in the head, "I'M IN THE ZONE!" Nitro: I'm not worried. Ken Shamrock needs to relax, he'll live longer. Shamrock has to fight the flow, I just need to go with it. I am the master of my own reality, of my own destiny. Shamrock is a leaf on the river, powerless to fight against the current. Maybe this time, when he snaps, he won't ever come back because the reality of his situation will be too much for his mind to grasp. The reality will be that I, the Shaman of Sexy, will have taken, from around his waist, the Intercontinental gold which he only won oh so recently. Using measured strikes and takedowns on his c*cky opponent. Nitro, to his credit, manages to hang with the former King of the Ring showing he has more wrestling ability than some give him credit for. Melina wasn't at ringside solely for decoration though, her screeches of encouragement and anger soon gave way to more physical involvement. Twice she helped Nitro reach the ropes to break the Anklelock and finally, Shamrock had had enough managing to grab her by the hair when she wasnt quick enough getting out of the way. The crowd roared as it looked like she would get her comeuppance as the referee's pleas fell on deaf ears, but she did manage to wriggle free and as the referee yelled at her to leave ringside, Shamrock turned straight into a hard shot to the face with the IC belt from Nitro who then threw the belt away and made the cover as the referee turned. 1, 2, 3 and Nitro is the new IC Champ! Johnny Nitro def. Ken Shamrock by pinfall at 15:10 Johnny Nitro wins the WWE Intercontinental Title RATING = A Nitro bails and head up the ramp with Melina and the title. Shamorck wakes ad sees what has happened. he complains to the referee who replies that he saw nothing. Shamrock's faces reddens and he snaps, putting the official down with a belly to belly and snapping on the ankle lock. The hapless referee screams in pain as officals run past a shocked looking Nitro to try and pry Shamrock off. Daniels is no slouch either and both men put on a great match. Both men had several nearfalls as the contest intensified. There was a noticable split in crowd support with MVP having a definite support though they were still the minority. MVP gained the upperhand which actually looked to be his downfall as he switched into showboating mode. This allowed Daniels back into the match and he flattened the US Champ with the Angel's Wings. However, as he climbed up for the BME, Stephanie McMahon lowblowed him in full view of the referee. As the bell sounded for the DQ, Steph called Mark henry into the ring to go to work on the Fallen Angel. Christopher Daniels def. From the bell they went tooth and nail, dispensing with any and all technical finnesse and instead favouring trying to beat one another to a pulp. CorVon had the clear power advantage and dished out the punishment to his veteran opponent. But Flair refused to go quietly, fighting back to roaring support from the crowd with every dirty trick in the book! The fight spilled to the outside and then to the technical area as both men used the guardrails, wiring and anything else that came to hand as a weapon. Flair was looking spent as the match continued whereas The Alpha Male found his second wind and went on the attack once more. Wrapping the chain around Flair's neck he rammed the Nature Boy into the wall over and over again, busting him open. With Flair's face quickly turning into a crimson mask, CorVon wrapped the chain around his fist and began hammering Flairs face and head. The commentators and even the referee were pleading with CorVon to cover for the pin but the Alpha Male wasn't finished, dragging Flair back down to the ring and propping him up for a Pounce in the turnbuckle. He lined it up... and Flair moved! Nature Boy threw rights at his opponent as the crowd went wild. CorVon was rocked and charged only for Flair to counter into an Atomic Drop, a chop block put him down and... Flair stumbled and fell, the punishment had taken its toll. CorVon regained his senses and hauled Flair up drilling him in the face for good measure before Powerbombing him onto the chain and pinning for the win. Marcus CorVon def. Cheers erupt for Flair who can barely stand but CorVon stops in his tracks, as the referee helps Flair to the outside The Alpha Male flattens him with a sick Pounce that sandwiches Flair between CorVon and the Ring. The Nature Boy crumples immediately to the floor and CorVon backs away up the ramp once more. Delilah showed she had a lot to learn as she was outwrestled comprehensively by a vicious Ariel. Thorn and Val fought hard but had little involvement in the match as Ariel demanded that she be tagged in so she could fight Delilah. The ECW Diva slapped Delilah around and whipped her to the corner where Thron held her fast. Ariel hauled off to punch Delilah in the mouth but the Diva Search winner wriggled free and ducked at the last minute. Ariel's punch hit Thorn who fell off the apron in surprise. By now all four men are very familiar with each other and this is evident from the escaped and countered doubleteams throughout the match. Normally The Naturals enjoy the advantage of having Angel Williams at rinside but, this time, she is cancelled out by the presence of Ashley who prevents her counterpart from interfering at every turn. This leaves the fate of the match in the hands of the four competitors with The Hooligans managing to eke out a victory after Paul London hit the London's Calling on Andy Douglas at the same time Brian Kendrick put Chase Stevens away with the Sliced Bread No.2. Edge thinks the better of his strategy and employs more of a hit and run approach, trying to wear down and tire the Big Red Machine. The plan works, up until Kane gets his hand on Edge that is. Kane goes on the attack with hard hitting powermoves, trying to make Edge into a part of the canvas itself! A chokeslam is avoided with a well timed kick south of the border by Edge and Kane stumbles back into the referee knocking him to the outside. Edge sees his chance and grabs his title belt. All that toil and hardwork, finally rewarded with a big time victory for the gold. The fans go wild! Matt Hardy has done it! He's won the big one!... But fairytales aren't real. The reality is that the honeymoon is over. Matt Hardy's win may be a big deal to him but it is nothing next to the legacy that I am carving out for myself. I'm afraid there's no happy ever after for Matt Hardy. Matt Hardy fought harder than Orton anticipated as Version 1.0 sought to cement his place at the top of the card. But the Legend Killer had things to prove as well. He wanted to prove himself the top dog on Raw and winning the Raw title to close out the year would surely do that. The RKO and Twist of Fate were attempted several times but their respective targets were able to avoid them each time. Hardy countered the RKO into a Side Effect after pushing Orton off into the ropes but could only get a two count even with the element of surprise. Orton's support were very vocal as they strived to be heard over the more numerous Hardy fans. At one point both men took each other out and the referee began a ten count but both responded by dragging themselves to their feet and fighting once more. Hardy got an advantage of sorts and went for the Twist of Fate again, Orton wasn't weakened enough though and he managed turn turn Hardy around and nailed him with the RKO before slumping onto him for the pinfall. Randy Orton def. Powermoves are employed from the get go as both men look to end the match quickly before fatigue can be an issue. The two monsters trade clotheslines to no effect until Lashley counters one into a powerslam to get a two count. The hard hitting contest continues with neither man giving any ground but Batista has backup in the shape of the Corporation. The referee is taken out by accident when Lashley misses a shoulderblock on Batista who pulls the official into his path. Immediately the Corporation strike. Masters and Striker run down to attack but Lashley responds with a furious assault on both men. Batista joins in and even Shane McMahon gets involved and the numbers begin to tell. That is until Umaga barrels down to the ring and attacks the Corporation. With the odds improved, Lashley and Umaga fight off the Corporation. Striker takes a Samoan Spike and Masters is flattened with the Dominator before both dispatch Shane McMahon by throwing over the top rope. The Samoan Bulldozer chases them off to leave Batista and Lashley alone once more. Batista attacks Lashley from behind and goes on the offensive. The Animal looks like he may do it after all as he manages to hoist Lashley up for a Batistabomb! But Lashley turns the tables by countering into a massive Facebuster! The crowd goes crazy as Lashley stalks Batista who slowly gets back to his feet. Spear! But Lashley holds on and pulls Batista up into the Dominator! 1, 2, 3! Bobby Lashley def. The Delilah match was a last minute thing, didn't expect the vitriol she received though! Shamrock v Nitro= A? Colour me pleasantly surprised! All in all a good result especially since Jericho, Cena and Kennedy weren't on the card, my main event scene is looking healthy indeed :))

That was the month that was... December. - Armageddon was definitely a success and I'm very pleased with how the "big" matches played out and even more pleased with the IC match. As noted Delilah took a lot of flack for getting in the ring to compete, it seems my fans are more wretling savvy than I anticiapted! - Profits were down nearly 25% on last month but nonetheless $6,660,335. The drop could be attributed to Survivor Series being more of an established attraction than Armageddon as well as shows running in smaller venues throughout the month. Reports indicate an upswing in the public's interest in the industry so hopefully we can ride the crest of that wave. - TV ratings remain steady, no complaints from the networks but again, ECW is still only running in one market making it difficult to give that roster the needed exposure. - Hopefully Jeff Hardy ha learned his lesson and this month he was a model employee. Unfortunately his brother now seems to be adopting his bad habits. Contrary to some reports, Hardy's title loss was not punishment for lateness. This was more of a test to see if Hardy could handle heading the brand as well as providing a means to transition the title from Carlito to Orton. - Some new faces will be showing up as I try to bolster the roster. This does mean that some workers won't enjoy the regular exposure they were getting but it also means that they won't be losing quite so often too as I can spread the win/loss records out a bit more. - Jigsaw is really working out but the agreement we have with Chikara means he will still be compteting in Quackenbush's promotion as well. - In a surprise to nobody, the booking team STILL want the US Title off of MVP. - Batista is complaining about the backstage atmosphere, possibly stemming from his suspension for fighting. He needs to change his attitude as this company will not cater to crybabies. The same applies to the man he fought with, Justin Credible. Michelle McCool is unhappy with losing so often... I had hoped the matches would improve her ability but that doesn't appear to have been the case so she may move into a managerial role soon. Daniel Rodimer is complaining that he is underused, his partner Justice Smith has wisely distanced himself from this statment. Oh and Linda McMahon continues her bellyaching. - HHH is raring to go and hope to make an impact in 2008. Likewise, The Undertaker has also been cleared as ready to compete, expect to see him on Smackdown in the near future. - Jericho, Edge, Batista and Cena are all still majorly over but Randy Orton is the clear star of the company enjoying top overness accross the globe. - Orton and Bobby Lashley top the overness stakes at A*, Orton has really established himself as a valuable commodity in this company. - Negotiations with the names mentioned last month went well. Kevin Nash has now debuted and we feel he will benefit the youngsters he has been teamed with, don't expect to see him compete in ring though as we feel that time is past. Expect others to be revealed shortly as we begin the Wrestlemania run-in. That was the YEAR that was... 2007. Wow, so the year is ended and I'm 7 months and 92 shows into this game! Overall I'm pleased with how things are going, new stars are being made and the roster has certainly moved on from its "reality based" starting point. Still, I hope it comes off as a WWE roster all the same, just a WWE roster with my spin on it. Some experiments have worked (Carlito, Hardy, Miz and Co.) others failed or fizzled (Homicide, Shock & Awe) but then that's the nature of the game right? Its weird to see how the format of my shows has changed from the first to the most recent. I think now I've found the format I'm happy with and hope you all feel the same but feel free to make any suggestions on how to improve it. One thing I am thinking about changing is the match reports. Are they ok the way they are? Could they be shorter? Are results enough? My concern is that the match reports are becoming a bit repetitive and sometimes writeups are delayed because I'm trying to think of what to put in them. What do you think of the diary as a whole? Who deserves a push? Who doesn't? What do you like? What do you dislike? Since the year is up, its award time in TEW so here's how that panned out: Card of the Year = Armageddon (Saved the best to last?) Match of the Year = Edge def. Chris Jericho at Summerslam (A*, I was pleased with that one myself!) Female Wreslter of the Year = Trinity (Glad that worked out, always thought she should have had more of a chance, saying that, booking probably helped and I could have had Mickie James or an other in this slot if I pushed them instead) Veteran Wrestler of the Year = Ric Flair (WOOOOO!) Young Wrestler of the Year = Ken Doane (Overlooked if I'm honest but that should change in 2008) Wrestler of the Year = Randy Orton (Can't argue, the guy has been consistently on his game the whole time and deserved the title win to close out the year.) And here's the Top 10 from the Top 100: 1. Dave Bautista (Batista) 2. Randy Orton 3. Adam Copeland (Edge) 4. Ric Flair 5. Matt Hardy 6. Monty Brown (Marcus CorVon) 7. Bobby Lashley 8. Ken Shamrock 9. Glen Jacobs (Kane) 10. John Hennigan (Johnny Nitro) Some surprising names there but then ability isn't everything and I would say those ten have certainly delivered in the big matches over the months. And I have to say I'm pleased that we shut out the Top 10, with Shinsuke Nakamura of NJPW at number 11. Kudos again to Trinity for reaching number 39 and Lita for making 50 especially since they were the only women on the list. Anyone have differing opinions on the awards? Who was your... Defo keep the backstage segments and the 411 rumors, month recaps etc, always good reading and some segments are hilarous, especially Shelley/Nash/Miz and the much missed Mr McMahon ones!
... great show and great year can't wait for the wrestlemania build up with HHH and Taker.
Yeah, me too! In a way its been good having to book without them but the closer it got to them returning, the faster the cogs started spinning in my noggin! :)
Thought Imight Say some comments about the show and the awards. Well the main events were exellent and they had a good undercard to back it up and the write up was as usual brilliant. In the awards you won all of them and got the top 10 in the rankings not much more needs to be said does it except well done.
Really pleased with the awards, mainly Orton and Trinity as they were damaged goods at the start of the game really but I knew they could go places. The question is how Orton's backstage attitude will affect things should he ever leave centre stage.
I'm sorry but that is just a great poster and I can't wait for the Rumble.
Cheers! I'm liking the end of month recaps as a way of exploring how I'm playing gamewise and the 411s are a good way to report on backstage stuff so I'll keep them. I guess the concern was really just the match write ups themselves. Does anyone read them or just skim down to the result? Sometimes I think they sound a bit repetitive, maybe bullet points would work?
^ I agree that is a great PPV poster! The new champ is bound to have some words to share this week on Raw. Carlito will host the Cabana once again with a returning guest: Marcus CorVon, hot off of a bloody victory over The Nature Boy Ric Flair in a Street Fight at Armageddon. The Alpha Male is bound to be in a good mood. Also this week: Mark Jindrak returns to Raw! And Edge walked out of Armageddon as Smackdown Champion. The only problem being that he didn't defeat The Big Red Machine, instead choosing the cheap way out with an intentional count-out. Will Kane be content to leave it at that? Or will he be looking for another shot at the gold he was cheated out of? Claudio Castagnoli has made an impact in recent weeks, now he faces former Smackdown Champion Rey Mysterio one on one. But will Chavo Guerrero and Chris Jericho be far away when their rivals are in competition? Also, AJ Styles continues to be a fighting champion.
