I'm a Led Zeppelin fan that couldn't think of a better pun... This diary will follow the in-game career of the my user character in the Cornellverse. He will start with 0% in every stat other than Charisma and Microphone Skills which will both be set at a 'B' grade. Enjoy...

"Oh crap" I thought "I've got real problems!" Nevertheless, I obliged and made my way into the most ugly office I had ever seen. About two weeks prior to my encounter with Greg "Highland Warrior" McPeterson, I had written an article for the small, London-based wrestling fanzine I worked for, which was rather tackily named "Wresolution". Anyway, long-story-short, this article didn't exactly praise Men of Steel Combat - let's just say I showed them in a "less than favourable fashion". Don't get me wrong, I was (hell, I still am) a huge MoSC fan but their product had gotten, well... stale. This whole escapade led to two things:

My having to go up to Scotland, on behalf of the whole company, to issue an apology.
The moment of my life which can only be described as "F**k me, I'm about to get my arse kicked by an aging Braveheart!"
Oddly, quite the opposite occurred (if their is an actual opposite to getting your arse kicked... who knows?).

Come again? McPeterson: Here is a contract. Can you read what it says? Pag: Let me see... "This contract certifies that"... boring. Mr Pag, have you ever heard of the saying "put your money where your mouth is"? Pag: Of course and, please, call me Charlie. McPeterson: Well, Mr Pag, I am giving you the opportunity to do just that. Any questions? Pag: Err... McPeterson: Good. Good? What did he mean good? He didn't give me time to think which one of the million possible questions I wanted to ask first! McPeterson: Oh and, if you fail to deliver there will be... It was his turn to pause. McPeterson: ...consequences.

Was I happy with my new job? Was I nervous? Frankly, I don't know. It all seemed to blend into one nauseating headspin. Did you know that, before passing out, the human body can throw up more than... Wait, that's best left a story for another time. Anyway, it was only upon taking the booking reigns that I realised why the MoSC product had become stale: the "new" 21st Century Wrestling had swallowed even more of the talent pool than I had first realised. However, after recieving the official information from Braveheart, I was not too dissatisfied with the situation.
Based in: Scotland Popularity (UK) Scotland: E (26%) North: E (26%) Midlands: F- (0%) South: F- (0%) Size: Small Prestige: 22 Finances: $120,000 Product Key Features: Hardcore
One of my main goals was to turn MoSC into a profit making company. So, to cut costs, I decided early on that there were some workers who did not deserve their place on the roster; others were cut purely for financial reasons: Lawrence Young Nothing against the guy; he's a good colour commentator but I need to save money and, thus, will be filling in as a commentator myself. Mr. Wright How do I put this tactfully? Oh yeah: he's crap! The Dublin Destroyer See above. So, then, the next job was to fill the potholes left in the already flimsy roster. Barry Griffin A competent Brit who worked here before he went to Japan. Worth signing. Herschel The Hammer Big, steroid-fueled powerhouse. Talented brawler and exponent of hardcore -should fit right in. Beast Bantom The wrestler formerly known as Martyn Staddon. Young, competent and should do nicely. Jack Griffith A very talented American who hasn't yet been signed back to a major promotion due to his previous fall from grace involving the booze. "Shotgun!", as I believe the saying goes. The Landlord A talented hardcore brawler who is over enough to make a good addition to the main event. Here endeth the first lesson.

Jack Griffith ended up signing with TCW. It was a small disappointment but, seeing as I've already got one drunk on the roster in the form of Danny Patterson, another one could have been pouring oil (or alcohol) on the fire. Thank you to all those who attended and to all of you watching online!
Tuesday, week 2, January
Evans: Good evening ladies and gentleman, my name is Bernie Evans and I am very proud to once again welcome you to the Combat Zone. Unfortunately, my regular broadcast colleague, Lawrence Young, has taken a leave of absence. So, tonight, alongside me is a columnist for the London based Wresolution Fanzine, Charlie Pag. Pag: Thank you, Bernie, but, let's face it, Lawrence Young was deadweight. It's about time Men of Steel Combat got an announcer with some real skill. Evans: Excuse me? Pag: Bernie, believe me, if I had the power to excuse you, I would. Evans: I apologise, ladies and gentlemen. Pag: interrupting So do I, on behalf of my colleague's obvious ineptitude. Bernie Evans glares at Pag. The argument is interrupted by Muse's Hysteria.
Evans: Here comes the brash and arrogant Blood & Beers champion, Jeffrey McPeterson. Unfortunately, I assume that we'll have to deal with another of his conceited outbursts. Pag: What are you smoking Bernie? The Streetfighter is a fantastic athlete who is probably the single biggest asset to this company. McPeterson takes a microphone from ringside and enters the ring to a chorus of boos. McPeterson: Shut your mouths! The hundreds of fans watching this on the internet want to hear me speak. Evans: Who does he think he's kidding? Only a simpleton would want to hear this idiot mouth off. Pag: Shut up, Bernie, I'm trying to listen. McPeterson: I am the Men of Steel Combar Blood & Beers Champion! That's not because I got lucky; that's because I am, without question, the toughest man on the roster. Evans: I can't think of a single person in the back who would agree with that. Pag: That's 'cos you're not used to doing much thinking. McPeterson: So, I'm issuing an open challenge. Anyone from any any city; no, any country; better still, any continent, can face me any time they please. Rest assured, though, they won't topple the Blood & Beers Champion because... you can't beat the street! Buff Martinz comesto the ring. Despite recently turning heel, the crowd clearly prefer him to McPeterson and applaud his appearance. Pag: What does this dickhead want? Evans: To take up the challenge probably. Pag Alright, smartarse, alright... Honestly, if there's one sort of people I hate, it's the bloody Spanish. Evans: What? Why? Pag: There all greasy, disgusting little pricks. Evans: Err, yeah... right. I apologise for my partner's comments, Ladies and Gentlemen. Pag: Don't call me your partner. Evans: Believe me, I wish I could say you weren't! Upon stepping into the ring, Martinez doesn't take a microphone he just tells McPeterson to bring it. Referee, Scotty Gregory, enters the ring. Evans Well, I think we have an impromptu match. Pag: No sh*t, Sherlock! Buff Martinez vs. Jeffery McPeterson(c) vs. The vocal crowd give McPeterson a very hard time, while Martinez gives him an even harder time. "The Streetfighter" tries to employ his trademark daredevil arsenal but is mostly kept on the canvas in a wild brawl. However, he lands an eye gouge on the challenger in the third minute and throws him to ringside. He lays the boots in to make sure Martinez is out. Then, he takes a table from under the ring, rests it, unopened, on both the ring apron and the steel guard rail and positions Buff on top. He re-enters the ring as the crowd rise to their feet. Evans: It looks like he's going for a plancha drop through the table! Pag: You really are a fan of pointing out the obvious aren't you? McPeterson rebounds off the ropes, runs and jumps clean over the opposite set, performing a sommersault as he goes. However, Martinez moves and "The Streetfighter" tastes wood, quickly followed by concrete! Evans: Oh, nobody home! The champion is down! Pag: Damn it! Come on Jeff! A "Holy sh*t!" chant starts. Martinez rolls McPeterson back into the ring. He whips the prone champion to the ropes. Barcelona Backbreaker! Evans: Oh, and there's Martinez's trademark Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker! Pag: Sh*t! Come on Jeff; come on, son! Scotty Gregory begins to count. 1...2...3! Match Rating: E Evans: We have a new Blood & Beers Champion! Pag: Well... maybe you do. Evans: What? Pag: That filthy Spaniard didn't deserve it; I refuse to recognise him as champion. Evans: ...and I'm sure that will bring tears to his eyes. A video is shown to promote "The Tower Of London" Danny Patterson
Shane Hannigans vs. Danny Patterson vs. Although a decent brawler, Hannigans is destroyed by the demon that is Patterson. The "Tower Of London" beats on him relentlessly. In only the third minute, the giant whips Shane to the ropes... Big Boot! He then picks up his opponent by the hair and leans towards his forehead. Evans: Bugger me! Is he biting him? Pag: Ouch! Patterson pulls his teeth away which are now covered in his victims blood. Evans: Oh, that is disgusting! Patterson slings Hannigans onto his shoulders like a rag doll. Crucifix Powerbomb! He makes the cover: 1...2...3 Match Rating: D- Evans: Well, that was academic. Pag: Yeah, and there's the proof... this promotion needs more Londoners! The Highland Warrior's music hits. The fans go crazy for their national hero as he makes his way to the ring. Evans: Who needs Sam Strong when there's Scotland's own Highland Warrior? Pag: If there's one sort of people I hate it's the bloody Scottish! Evans: Really, I thought it was the Spanish who were the scum of the Earth... Pag glares at Evans. Warrior: Thank you! The fans quiten down to hear what he has to say. Warrior: It is great to be back in the Caledonian Club in front of my fellow Scotsman! It's only been a month but it already feels like far too long! The fans applaud. Pag: Oh, I think I'm gonna throw up! Evans: indifferently Well, at least leave the announce table. Warrior: The former Blood & Beers Champion, Jeffery McPeterson... The fans boo at the very mention of his name. Warrior: I know, he's a nasty wee bastard, that one. Anyway, tonight, he made an open challenge and ended up getting a right royal thrashing at the hands of Buff Martinez. Well, I am offering a similar opportunity to everyone in the back to challenge for my UK Championship; only, I won't make such a cuddie of myself! The fans, again, cheer. Warrior: Whoever answers this challenge will fall foul of my mighty Highland Fling and... Suddenly, the old Soviet National Anthem plays. The debuting Nikolai Fukov makes his way to the ring. Evans: Woah... would you look at the size of him?!? Pag: Blimey, that's one creepy comrade! Fukov enters the ring. Warrior: Bloody hell... you've got a face like a hen layin' razors! Who the hell are you? Fukov answers with a stiff right hand to the face. Evans: Here we go! Nikolai Fukov vs. The Highland Warrior(c) vs. The crowd are really on the case of Fukov and strongly behind their homegrown hero. Nevertheless, the big Russian brawler causes huge problems for the champion and the match turns into a bloody brawl. Evans: Any opinion on Communists? Pag: Meh, as long as he kicks this uppety Scotsman's arse I'm his number one fan. Evans: Hang on, let me get this straight... You hate the Spanish and the Scots but somehow find communists to be agreeable? Pag: Anything is better than a Scotsman. Evans: What about a Spaniard? Pag: Except that! In the seventh minute, The Warrior goes for the Highland Fling but Fukov holds onto the ringropes so he cannot be lifted. He then hits a lowblow on the champion and the match spills outside. The brawl continues with all manner of weapons being employed. In the sixth minute, Fukov smashes The Warrior's face into the ring post and rolls him back in. He traps him in the corner, hits a few big right hands and tehn backs away. Big Avalanche... No, Warrior moves and Fukov tastes the buckle. The big Russian turns around... Highland Fling! 1...2...3! Match Rating: D Pag: Fukov was robbed! Evans: Exactly how do you figure that? Pag: Er... Evans: interrupting Thanks for joining us on MoSC.com for Rule Britannia! I've been Berie Evans. Pag: And I've been Charlie Pag. Evans: May the best ye've ever seen be the worst ye'll ever see May ye, aye, be just as happy as we wish ye, aye, to be. Goodnight! It set us back £4,237 but you've got to spend money to make money... or, at least, that's what I'm hoping. This is no ordinary hardcore wrestler; this is a 6'11", 365 lbs behemoth that will just as soon break your spine with his Crucifix Powerbomb as look at you. Many thought he would be the next Brit to conquer America but, due to suffering a knee injury, this was never achieved. He left 21CW shortly before Jeff Nova became the new owner and returned to MoSC. He now boasts a 5-0 undefeated streak in the promotion that does not look like ending anytime soon.
