WCW 1998: A prequel to "Death of WCW"

Your Favourite Wrestler in the Diary: Probably Raven. I do also like what you've done with Jericho. Your Least Favourite Wrestling in the Diary: No one really springs to mind, to be honest. Your views on the nWo/Four Horsemen storyline: I like the direction you've taken. Like the addition of Goldberg to the Horsemen, as it gives him a degree of legitimacy. Your views on the wrestlers brought into the diary (Kurt Angle, Jushin Lyger, Curry Man): I like that the additions have been smart and useful, but not overt. Its easy to go overboard in a diary and sign anyone you might find a bit useful (as I've done in the SWF). But that can be to the detriment of the original roster and you can end up losing the feel of the promotion that way. You haven't and that's key. Who is the wrestler you think will explode through to Starrcade? Benoit or Raven. Your favourite moment? I would probably have to go with Jerich winning the belt. Your view on Chris Jericho as World Heavyweight Champion (personally, I know this was a controversial move but I'm hoping that the standard of main event has improved with him there) I like it. Its the kind of move that WCW should have made at that point but never would have. I think its working, and thats the key. Your favourite feud? Bischoff and Flair has been fun, but probably what's developing between Raven and Jericho. I like where that is going. Your thoughts on Hulk Hogan leaving WCW? Again, something that the WCW should have done but never would have. The right move, in my opinion. Any other comments you want to make? In regards to the "win percentages" on people's predictions, I wouldn't worry too much about that. I see the same thing in my SWF diary, though I have never actually tabulated and scored. I'm sure the majority of regular predictors would be over 75%. To me, its just an indication of having a fairly logical booking style. That's not to say that having an approach to booking that's tough to predict is a bad thing or illogical, just that I really don't think that being "predictable" is a bad thing at all. Not in WCW, where the stories matter almost as much as the results. Overall, just enjoying it. And very glad you are enjoying it as well. Keep up the great work.

Your Favourite Wrestler in the Diary: Ric Flair. Your Least Favourite Wrestling in the Diary: Curryman Your views on the nWo/Four Horsemen storyline: Two Thumbs up. Plus my good leg. If I could Id raise my bad leg as well. Your views on the wrestlers brought into the diary (Kurt Angle, Jushin Lyger, Curry Man): Angle: Was kinda torn when he first came in. But as always you make it work. Lyger: I could see him in WCW. Curryman, he's hot, he's spicy, he makes me hurl. Daniels yes, Curryman :( Who is the wrestler you think will explode through to Starrcade? Benoit. Your favourite moment? When you came back on the boards. Your view on Chris Jericho as World Heavyweight Champion (personally, I know this was a controversial move but I'm hoping that the standard of main event has improved with him there) Thought when you pulled the trigger it was early, but it grew on me and I like it. Your favourite feud? Hart and Sting really has my attention. Your thoughts on Hulk Hogan leaving WCW? Buh buh now. Thanks for flying.

However, I for one am stoked your tuning up the band for more of this dynasty. It'll be good to see an old colleague back on the front page ;). Quote The Raven Nevermore

Boy, getting back into this has been a slow and hard process... I think I'm still on Strawberry Daquiri mode in the Bahamas.... Ahem, but as the great Freddie Mercury once sang, the show must go on... yeah yeah.
Tonight's Celeb-O-Meter pays homage to a truly remarkable city. Someone at Yankee Stadium said to us "They do things bigger and better here", and its true. Bright lights, big city, great people, tonight I salute you, because its up to you New York... New York! So with that in mind, the Chairman of the Board presides, Mr Frank Sinatra.
At the top of the show, we cut straight to the back where Eric Bischoff is in his Executive Office, slamming down his phone in disgust on the oak desk in front of him. He looks frazzled, until his look of crazed anger turns to one of a crazed idea shooting off in his head. His smile is bright, as he slowly nods his head in a conniving fashion. "Man, I'm good! First I beat the man, then I destroy... the man." The two men gelled very well, and combined for some slick double team action against Karagias and Le Roux, who sold the action well. Psicosis ended the bout with a Moonsault, which left Karagias dazed for the loss. Result: Your winners, Jushin Lyger and Psicosis
After the match, the nWo music played throughout the arena, but instead of the pack of heathens heading down in tandem to the ring, Kimberly Page came out alone. 'Mean' Gene Okerlund waited for her at the bottom of the ramp. "At this time, I'd like to bring forward to you, Kimberly Page. Now, Kimberly, you've requested this interview, what is it that is on your mind?" "Sweet... little... but sweet, Gene. My eyes are up here, not down there. But I haven't come to talk to these rednecks about your philandering ways Gene, oh no no no no no. I've come to talk to you about 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, or should I say, Miss Elizabeth. You know Gene, times they are a changing. And this, this is not the Memphis Coliseum, and I am not Elvis Presley. Those times have gone, Gene, they were great times, but now things are better. And much the same as that, Miss Elizabeth, you were once something. You really were, but you now need to step aside..." As she keeps rambling in a poorly incoherent interview, Miss Elizabeth walks down the ramp and stands alongside Kim. Liz's eyes are full of pain, almost pleading with Kim to stop. "Well well well. Look what the cat dragged in." SLAP! Kim slapped the cheek of Liz who fell to the ground, before she could get in some kicks, Doug Dillenger and the fun police ran down to the protection of the adorable, defenceless Miss Elizabeth. Kimberly continued to rain out a number of despicable insults as security hauled her tidy frame to the back. And Giant, YOU'RE NEXT!" For 8 minutes, he valiantly withstood the Outsiders attacks, and began to frustrate them with piercing comebacks. Disco came in for a hot tag and appeared to be following suit, but a ridiculous disco dance routine at a completely inappropriate time let the Outsiders regain complete control, control which they never lost. I just wonder how much of a superstar Disco Inferno could be if he had his mind tuned in. Nevertheless, he didn't, and the Outsiders took advantage, ending the match with the Jackknife on Disco. Result: Your winners, the Outsiders
After the break, Lenny Lane and Lodi, the West Hollywood Blondes stood to the side of the ring admiring their work, as the tartan ring spread for Piper's Den featured pink tassles on the ring edges. 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper feigned satisfaction, but was clearly not happy with the work of the West Hollywood Blondes. The hauty tauty pompous music of 'Lord' Steven Regal began, and out came the former WCW Television Champion to a chorus of boos. He continued down the ramp in his Union Jack robe, and once in the ring laughed at the kilt of the Scotsmen 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper.... "Aha... You laugh, but pal, let me tell you something. You lot thought you had it all. Until you ran into Braveheart. And if you will, I am Braveheart Mark II. You see, as soon as you know the answers Regal, I change the questions. Now, I understand you've come out here to plead for something or rather, and being a Scotsmen with a sense of smell I'm not too happy having someone from your country who doesn't wash for weeks on end in my ring, so hurry it up and get it done!" "Are you done yet? Haven't you retired? Gone and done a few cheap movies? You're an insult to the coat of arms! Blimey man, you sound more Canadian than Scottish. Where's your roots? Where's your heritage? You're a turncoat, that's what you are. You're a blimin' turncoat. I too don't want to be in your presence either you cynical old codger. So I'm going to make this short, and sweet. These Americans have held down the British Empire for too long. The Queen's will will be done. And I have received a telegram from the old girl demanding the Television Championship be returned to the British Empire. So, I'm out here to demand a Television Championship shot at ... Road Wild..." The clicking of hooves and the neighing of wild horses is heard around the arena as 'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson stands underneath the Turner Tron. You know, those sets are awfully dangerous, I'd hate to see a man get injured by a set collapse *cough cough* typically stupid WWE storyline *cough cough*. "You know Steven, like most of your lot you sure know how to whinge, don't you? You see, in my country, Four Horsemen country, we simply command respect by letting our actions do the talking. You see, if the nWo injures one of mine, I put two of theirs in the morgue. Its that simple. We're not nice guys, we don't wear white hats. So I'm going to ask you to act more like a champion Horsemen, rather than a champion pompous pr[BEEP]! And to show my generosity, what I'm going to do is give you two shots. Tonight, Chris Benoit... he's a true Champion, a true Horsemen, and a true legend, and tonight, he wants to face one of the best of the best for the United States Championship. Obviously, Steven, you won't win that, but should you survive that, I'll give you your Television Championship shot at Road Wild... Have we got a deal?" "Well, I guess so ... I mean I..." "No ifs, no buts Steven, have we got a deal." "Well.... yes." "Alright, then its set, tonight, you and Benoit for the United States Championship!" This was true carnage. It was like watching the JFK Airport flight pattern, dudes flying everywhere. The rules of tag team wrestling went out the door, and it almost began a Texas Tornado type match due to referee Billy Silverman losing complete control, and his inability to understand who was legal at anyone time. The result was a high octane match, with many planchas, ended finally when Chavo hit fittingly the Tornado DDT on Hector Garza for the pinfall to retain. Result: Your winners, and STILL WCW Tag Team Champions, Rey Mysterio Jr and Chavo Guerrero Jr
As Rey and Chavo celebrated, the evil face of Eric Bischoff, with his snyde look, appeared on the Turner Tron. Rey and Chavo quickly turned around, as the sinister leader of the nWo talked. "You know, tonight has been a night of match making... it would seem. It seems my 50/50 partner has been making a few matches, well Rey and Chavo, so am I. You see, I want to end your reign as WCW Tag Team Champions. And I know just the way. The way to do it is by pitting you against the best of the best at Road Wild. But who is that team? Is it the Steiners? Is it Harlem Heat? We will find out, because starting this Monday Nitro, I'm commissioning a Tag Team Knock-Out Tournament to find who will destroy you at Road Wild! God, I love this job!"
WCW United States Championship 'Rabid Wolverine' Chris Benoit (c) v 'Lord' Steven Regal A hell of a match. Regal had it seemed taken Anderson's words as the ultimate motivation, firing up for Benoit, reversing many moves, beating many pin fall attempts at the last second, and fighting valiantly through Benoit's arsenal of submission moves, avoiding at all costs the Crippler Crossface. It even seemed an upsets may have been on the cards when Regal himself gained control following a ferocious set of spots on the outside, involving the steel ring posts. Once back in the ring, it seemed Regal wanted to end ti as if he was the real deal, 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair himself, inventing a cruel looking Figure Four leg lock. The pain was etched on Benoit's face, it was clear the title was heading west tonight, he was in the center of the ring and Regal had the move locked on tight. This was the ultimate test of desperation and hunger for Benoit. The referee asked him on several occasions to throw the towel in, but Benoit refused and just gutsed it up. Regal wouldn't move, and would stay there all night if necessary, but finally after nearly two minutes of excruciating pain, Benoit made the decision to risk potentially snapping his hip by attempting to turn Regal. Regal tried to lock it in tighter, but after a painful, blood curdling scream Benoit finally got Regal over, inverting him into a Sharpshooter! The legs were locked perfectly, and it was Regal screaming for mercy. Regal tried to turn it, but it was hopeless, and he tapped! A great great match! Result: Your winner, and STILL WCW United States Champion, Chris Benoit
We cut straight to the back, where it seems 40 security guards and officers are standing between Bill Goldberg and the Giant. Both men are leering for each other, the officers are threatening to use some kind of pepper spray to restrain them, as the two powerhouses move forward through the haze of officers, two of the officers on either side are finally forced to use the spray, causing Goldberg and the Giant to buckle backwards and grasp at their eyes. Across the other side of the arena, we glanced at both Raven and Bret 'The Hitman' Hart approaching from differing corridors for the main event, up next!
Bret 'The Hitman' Hart v Raven These two warriors spent a minute or so circling the ring, before finally hooking up in a collar and elbow tie up. Hart began working over the knee of Raven, who at every turn rolled to the outside to get away and stretch the ligaments out. Bret Hart stayed in the ring, until the fourth minute where he followed him out, foolishly, into Raven's domain. The veteran Hart made a rare error, as Raven schooled him in only the way Raven knows how. Given Raven wrestles in Raven Rulez matches, where basically there are no rules, it became pure chaos as Raven rolled a trolley of brooms and kendo sticks to ringside. Hart finally escaped the clutches of the Bowery legend, before both men returned to a pure fist fight in the centre of the ring, with the veteran Hart being the first man to drop to one knee, leaving Raven only to kick him to the back of the head savagely. The fight continued to go back and forth in a truly spectacular fashion, it was pure grit and hard blows, as Hart tried to slow it down from time to time and Raven tried to increase the temp of the strikes. It seemed to be back to an even keel as Raven whipped Bret Hart across the ring, but as Hart cannoned into the steel cables, Sting had appeared from the crowd and he tripped the Hitman. Hart stumbled around, as Sting rolled under the ring. Raven was unawares, and immediately took advantage locking in a front chancery into a face slam. With Hart staggered, Raven sent him into the ropes again, and when Hart came back, Raven exerted a sleeper. Hart finally fought back and out of the hold, but before too long, the momentum killer that Sting had provided proved too much as Raven hit the Evenflow DDT for a massive upset here on Thunder. Result: Your winner, Raven
After the match, as Raven walked back up the ramp, Hart finally came to and rolled out of the ring. He went under the ring, and hauled out Sting! The two men stood outside the ring going toe to toe. Raven walked back down, and tried to separate the two men, but collectively Hart and Sting clotheslined Raven into the crowd! Hart then whipped Sting into the guardrails, and he followed suit into the crowd! The two men began fighting savagely, in amongst the crowd. Raven came to, and stepped back into the ringside area, but hadn't realised that 'Big Sexy' Kevin Nash had stormed down to ringside. Nash ran and clotheslined Raven again, before bringing him up and down for a huge Jackknife Powerbomb, right on the unforgiving concrete floor at ringside! "This is chaos! This is out of control!" Tony Schiavone pleaded. "Fans, we are outta ... hang on a second, whats this." "What's what?" Bobby Heenan asked. "I'm getting word from the back... hang on... oh my.... OH MY! Fans, Arn Anderson has confirmed at Road Wild, for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, it will be Sting v Bret 'The Hitman' Hart v 'Lionheart' Chris Jericho! WOW! We are truly out of time folks, find out more on wcw.com!"

WCW Cruiserweight Championship: Jushin 'Thunder' Lyger (c) v Ultimo Dragon - Can't see Lyger losing the belt just yet. Dragon could be a contender in the future. Pipeline Feva ('Wipeout' Evan Karagias and 'Cutback' Lash Le Roux) v Extreme Innovators (Perry Saturn and 'The Innovator of Offence' Chris Kanyon) - Pipleline Feva just scream "jobbers" to me. Billy Kidman and 'The Laughing Man' Hugh Morrus v 'The British Bulldog' Davey Boy Smith and Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart - Might be an upset but I mark for Billy Kidman. Buff 'The Stuff' Bagwell v Bill Goldberg - This is an obvious one to me. Goldberg has the better future and Buff Bagwell is overrated at best. He'll do well putting the younger talent over though. WCW Television Championship: Eddie Guerrero (c) v Curry Man - I'd love to see a shock title change here and a big push for Curry Man. Eddie can then go on to bigger and better things. 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair v 'K-Dawg' Konnan - Flair has to win this one, Konnan seems a little out of his league in a match like this. Flair can still go great things for you. Raven v Bret 'The Hitman' Hart - Bit of wishful thinking here, as I think you're most probably going to give Hart the win. However I am a Raven mark and think he can Main Event for you in a serious capacity with big wins.

After the pyros blast out from the bottom of the ramp set, the crowd here in Birmingham, Alabama, as a packed crowd of some 8,000 settle in for another live episode of WCW Monday Nitro. We pan around some of the banners in the crowd, it looks to be fairly solid WCW territory tonight. The three wise men are at the booth tonight, Tony Schiavone, Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan and the 'Living Legend' himself from Larryland, Larry Zbysko. "Welcome to another sold out Monday Nitro, live on TNT, I'm Tony Schiavone, and with me as always, Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan and 'Living Legend' Larry Zbysko. Tonight, what a night we have for you. A rematch from last Thursday Thunder's climatic showdown between Bret 'The Hitman' Hart and Raven, with Bret Hart of course being confirmed in a three way dance extravaganza with Sting and 'Lionheart' Chris Jericho for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at Road Wild. Guys, wait a second, I've got news from the back that we have a feature presentation video package..." We cut to a video that looks at the incident last week between Kimberly Page and Miss Elizabeth

We look at Kimberly's demand that the torch be passed from Elizabeth to Kim
We look at Elizabeth coming down with her innocent look
We look at Kimberly slapping Miss Elizabeth to the ground
And finally we see the fun police stopping Kimberly Page from inflicting more pain on the sweet and innocent Miss Elizabeth

WCW Cruiserweight Championship Jushin 'Thunder' Lyger (c) v Ultimo Dragon A fantastic speedy bout to open up Monday Nitro. I love reminiscing about how Nitro used to start off with these matches, it literally blew the top off every arena they put the cruisers into. This was no exception. A true Japanese show down of two oriental legends. Much like Psicosis has for Lyger, Dragon too has respect for Lyger but his respect also makes his scalp that much more valuable. Tony Schiavone tried to talk up this aspect of the bout but failed miserably. Fortunately, the match did not, and despite many near falls from Ultimo Dragon in this back and forth show down, Lyger was able to hit the Lygerbomb on Dragon for the eventual win. Result: Your winner, and STILL WCW Cruiserweight Champion, Jushin Lyger
After the break, 'Mean' Gene Okerlund stood in the centre of the ring with 'Lionheart' Chris Jericho, the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. The Champion looked out upon his people and thrust his arms up in victory. "Alright, I thank you Chris Jericho for joining me out on Monday Nitro..." "Whoa Whoa Whoa Gene Mene, Junior, you need to get your address right. It's 'Lionheart' Chris Jericho, your paragon of good virtue, the ayatollah of rock... n ROLLA, the king of the world, and your true WCW World Heavyweight Champion. And this show Junior, its Monday Night... Jericho! Got it Gene Mene, if you keep this up Tony Skee-o-varn-ah will need to come and take over from you." "You're entitled to your opinion Chris Jericho, but as you can see, in this ring we have assembled a table with the official contractual document for Road Wild, which you assured me earlier this evening before we went live to air that you would be happy to sign...." "Fine... Junior, hit the bricks, if you can't get this right, I'll take control...." He snatches the microphone off 'Mean' Gene Okerlund, and coils back his fist, so the veteran interviewer extraordinaire leaves the ring, but not of his own volition. "Ladies and gentlemen, tonight I introduce to you the man who I will successfully force to submit at Road Wild... I give you the disgrace of Canada, Bret 'The Hitman' Hart...!" Bret 'The Hitman' Hart appears, shaking his head at Jericho's introduction but proceeds down to ringside. Jericho beckons to the ringside area where one extremely fat man wearing a ripped and stained white t-shirt with the words "Jericho Personal Security" on it steps into the ring to ensure that the Champion is not touched. "And this dirty bottom feeding trash bag hails from Parts Unknown, he starred in Michael Jackson's Thriller, ladies and gentlemen... STING!" The legend himself is in the rafters, and we can see him descend to the ring. Once in the ring he holds the bat out at Jericho and Hart, but then to show his lack of fear drops the bat to the floor. "Boys, why don't you take a seat. Walk right in, sit right down, Lionheart's gonna make a fool out of you... Well well well, look at you two sorry saps. Hell, at Road Wild, I might as well sit in the corner and enjoy you two slap the living bejesus out of each other. Heck, that's if you survive to Road Wild. The funny thing about you two fighting each other is... you're cut from the same cornies box. The only difference is Bret Hart, you don't have your wife's make up splattered all over your face like Sting here does. Of course, that said, Bret, you do look suspiciously like the oldest brother from Hanson... Moving on, now, Sting, I know you're a little slow what with your lack of emotions and all, so tough guy... I'm going to let you make the first John Han[BEEP] on this here contract..." Sting looks emotionlessly at Jericho as he holds out a pen. "It's a pen... peeeennnn. You write with it. Wrrriitttteee..." Sting grabs the pen and signs his name on the document. "That's right...S....T....I..." Sting gives him a filthy look, so Jericho holds his tongue. "Very good, you're developing finally. Who knows, maybe one day you'll find out that you're much more fun when you're a surf bum. Now, Bret... if you wouldn't mind... I'll keep an eye on that pen though Bret if you don't mind..." Hart looks on puzzled, as he moves forward to sign his name. "You see, that pen is worth $14,000 US. It's one of the perks of being the World Heavyweight Champion. And given you lived with 46 sisters and 37 brothers in a shack in Calgary, I've learned not to trust you. That said, this is a stylish pen and you do wear pink so I shouldn't be afraid. Congratulations boys, you've now sealed your fate. Going into war with me, the undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World." Both men stand back in their respective corners, saying nothing, motioning nothing. "Well aren't you two daisy dukes a spur of conversation. Sting, Bret Hart... I'd love to stick around and chat, but for one, I have World Heavyweight Champion-type committments to attend to, and secondly, you're both total douches..." At the top of the ramp we can see some WCW Board of Director Suits directing some of Tuscaloosa's finest to the ring. They march down extremely quickly, and a large formation of police officers gets in between Hart and Sting. "What is the meaning of this?" Tony Schiavone asks. "It seems the Board of Directors are not too happy with some of the fighting thats gone on between Sting and Bret Hart," Zbysko answers. "I say let the hameneggers go at it. You know what I think is causing all this? Bret Hart's jealousy..." "Well of course it is," Schiavone adds. "He's jealous because his leather jacket isn't as long as Sting's. He's jealous because his hair isn't as jagged looking as Sting's. He's jealous because Sting has a better sense of humour..." ....... Backstage, 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair is in the Four Horsemen dressing room, with the only other Horsemen in there Bill Goldberg. Goldberg is sitting on a leather recliner in his wrestling trunks, while Flair styles and profiles in a slick purple sequined robe of choice. "WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Can you hear that Bill? This is Horsemen country!..." Goldberg stands up, looking angrier than normal, if thats possible. I've been angry like that before, but a laxative soon soothed my mind. "What's the matter, pal? You seem tense. You know what you need, you need to party like a Horsemen. Tonight Bill, tonight we're going to ride in my private limousine and tear this town apart... WOOO..." Just before Ric can let out the full oxygen laiden WOOOOOOOOOO, Goldberg halts him. "No! That's not it! That's not what I need. What I need is the Giant. I need him... NEXT!" "Listen pal, I think you think you need to bury the hatchet with the Giant. The Horsemen are a lot of things Bill, but they're not stupid, and they're not going ahead one short unnecessarily. The nWo is our prime concern, brother... Tonight brother, Buff Bagwell is your concern..." "Yeah?" "Yeah, that's right...." Goldberg is almost jawing up to Flair. "Our prime concern is pride Ric. Pride. The Giant thinks he can defeat me. I say, bring it on. I say... Giant... YOU'RE NEXT! And you can WOOOOOOO to that!"
Pipeline Feva ('Wipeout' Evan Karagias and 'Cutback' Lash Le Roux) v The Extreme Innovators (Perry Saturn and 'The Innovator of Offence' Chris Kanyon) Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Will Pipeline Feva ever win? Does Alannis Morisette realise its not entirely ironic to have good advice that you just didn't take? That's bad judgment... Tonight was an exhibition of the moveset of Saturn and Kanyon, who dominated from start to finish, with Saturn slapping the Rings of Saturn on Le Roux for the submission win. The level of jobbing in this match will not be seen in WCW for another 2 years when Big Poppa Chump destroys 4 Cruiserweights in the space of a minute and then proceeds to SMBU on Norman Smiley, before scaring Kim and ripping on WCW and Ric Flair... and be commended for his actions with a mega push. Result: Your winners, the Extreme Innovators
A video plays after the break highlighting the heat on the Television Championship, currently held by Eddie Guerrero

We look at Dean Malenko who was deceived by Eddie Guerrero for the Championship
Their history, a long one at that, is played highlighting the deceptive character of Guerrero and the ice like grill of Malenko
We view Steven Regal and his previous Television Championship tenures and the lengths he will go to win a match
Backstage, Curt Hennig and Vincent are heard laughing... "Yeah, I hear ya, Goldberg's gonna wipe the floor with him..." Hennig says as Vincent continues to laugh. And who oh who should turn the corner? Fe-fi-fo-fum himself, the Giant! Vincent and Hennig gulp, but Hennig and Vincent quickly run away. Turning the corner still holding his neck from his tough loss to Jushin 'Thunder' Lyger earlier in the evening is Ultimo Dragon. The Giant grabs him by the throat and holds him up against the wall, before dropping him straight onto the concrete with the Chokeslam! You can almost see the frustration and anger steaming out of his ears.... At least, I hope that gassy steam is from his ears. Almost as a form of punishment for the poor match they put on, they jobbed hard tonight. The focus was on Billy Kidman who lit up the ring very nicely, Hugh Morrus added the momentum killing power and then stunned Neidhart with the massive No Laughing Matter for the pinfall. Result: Your winners, Billy Kidman and Hugh Morrus
After the break, West Hollywood Blondes are seen at ringside cutting out the final purple tassles for the ring, as we see the Tartan matting for Piper's Den. 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper awaits in the ring, as before we know it, Raven is on his way to the ring. "Aha... Welcome to Pipers Den, Raven. Such a frightening experience it'll remind you of when you wore diapers... or whatever it is you loners from the Bowery wear...." "I don't listen to your rules, Roddy. I respect you, you are a legend. But this is my time. This is my evolution. Your show tonight is nothing but a subserviance to my needs, so without further adieu, I'd like to call out the biggest coward in WCW.... Kevin Nash..." The nWo music hits, and out comes 'Big Sexy' himself. He looks grizzled as per usual, as he strides over the top rope, thrusting his right arm up in the air with the nWo hand party signal at the top of the thrust. "You want some of this?" Nash asks. "You truly want some of this? Well I'll give you something Raven, you have courage. You see, after I Jackknifed you to hell and back last Thursday, I expected you to stay away. Not only do I see you here, but I hear you calling me out. You don't want to go down to the depths of hell I took you to, Raven. I took you way down there, you know where..." Nash stands over the top of Raven, who stoically stands his ground. "You think that your evolution is the true evolution, Kevin? You know, I was glad you came down to the ring on Thunder and did what you did. And you know why? Because I wanted to put a stake into the fraud that is the New World Order. I wanted you to come down and force yourself into the mire. I wanted you to dig your own hole. I wanted to see you write your own inscription on the grave of the nWo. You see, this was meant to be..." "What was meant to be?" As he says that, Sick Boy, Raven's old ally jumps up on the apron, holding the stop sign... "You should never run a Stop signal, Kevin..." BANG! Nash turns around into the Stop sign. Raven continues to stomp a mudhole in Nash, before falling to the ground and smiling... "So it is written, so it shall come to pass. The Evolution has evolved. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust... Quoth the Raven, Nevermore...." Before he can celebrate his success further, Vincent and Hennig race down to ringside with steel chairs. Raven looks to stand in the ring to take them on, but Sick Boy pushes him out of the ring and to safety. Before we cut to the break though, Bret 'The Hitman' Hart's music hits and the 'Hitman' comes out underneath the Turner-tron. "Raven..! It's not Kevin Nash you're after. You have to look for those who cast vengeance on you. You see, at Thunder, you cost me a valuable victory. And the Excellence of Execution seeks excellence in results. So tonight, Raven... if you talk of courage, if you talk of being a solitary warrior or whatever it is you're calling yourself, tonight you need to prove yourself. Against the best there is, the best there was... and the best... there ever will be!" Raven smiles and nods, as we cut to a break. "Do you know who I am?" "Yes, you Mr Wath. You rery nice man." Wrath stands over the top of Curry Man, who leans back and waves away some bad air. "I see you alwedy like da curry...." "Watch it! "Ore Le! Holmes... every night, I bleed and sweat this WCW. I bleed for this Championship. You know, I don't always agree with everyone amigo, I have a lot of enemies here in this WCW. But I look at this Championship belt, and I realise I am defending a legacy. A legacy that features Greg Valentine, the Hammer, holmes, Ricky Steamboat, the Dragon esse, Dirty [BEEP] Slater, the American Dream Dusty Rhodes, yeah... and Arn Anderson. This Championship right here is the pride of this WCW. You know why? Because every night you defend it. You defend it with your life. Every man on the roster wants a piece of it. But you know something, amigos? As I tried to point out to Rey Mysterio Jr and my deceitful nephew Chavo Guerrero Jr holmes, this Championship has never been the pride of the Latino community like it is now! So Dean Malenko, Steven Regal, esse, you holmes challenge for my Championship? This is for Mondo, this is for Chavo Sr, this is for Psicosis, this is El Dandy, this is for Damian 666, this is even for Rey and Chavo Jr!...," Eddie lets a single tear drip down his right cheek. "This is for latino honour, holmes, ... latino honour. Esse, you won't stop us!" Eddie slams the microphone down and holds the Championship up triumphantly. ....... Backstage, great success, 'Mean' Gene Okerlund has with him the Outsider, Scott Hall. Hall flicks the toothpick at the camera, as Okerlund begins. "Scott Hall, recently you have challenged Chris Benoit for the United States Championship..." "You see that, Gene-O-Meano? The United States Championship. The good guy, from Canada, holds the United States Championship. Yet I'm the bad guy? Chico, this Championship is coming back to the nWo. Benoit is a fraud, he is an impos.." Just then, the WCW United States Champion himself walks onto the set and fronts Hall. Who just smiles, wider, and wider... Benoit begins to look anxious... BANG! Diamond Cutter! It was all a set up! 'The Master of the Diamond Cutter' Diamond Dallas Page was waiting to lay one on Benoit, his perennial arch rival! Page and Hall flick each other the nWo signal as we cut to a break. As a matter of fact, its been galling to think of how poor his in ring performances have been of late given how much of a legend he was in Mexico. Perhaps the level of the match was helped by the man he was facing, the master of in ring psychology who sold the story brilliantly. The young lion Konnan trying to displace the veteran Flair, the dirtiest player in the game. After a slow match, Ric Flair managed to gain momentum and take Konnan to screaming school with the Figure Four Leglock. Result: Your winner, Ric Flair
As Flair looked to leave the ring, 'Mean' Gene Okerlund walked up on the apron, and asked Flair for a moment. "Alright guys, I have with me the 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair, and Ric, we've been up the road many many times before, but these are surely some of the most testing times of your professional wrestling career..." "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Mean...BY GOD GENE! Did somebody tell me that the Horsemen would be here to party in BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMAAAAAA!?? Is it true? WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! By god, I believe it is. You talk about hard times Gene, its not just hard times on my career Gene, its hard times on my life. I go home to my family day and night out and I can't get that low down coward Eric Bischoff off my mind! And I'll give you this Eric, you've won so many of the battles. So many of the battles... But you will ... WOOOOOOOOOOOOO... not have your Gettysburg address. That's reserved for the winners of the war. The ultimate war. You know what Eric, you think you can destroy the ethos of the Nature Boy? The dirtiest player in the game. Pal, this robe... custom made. $25,000. My suit out the back... custom made. $20,000. My private jet... custom made. Why? Because I'm a winner. I've battled them all Eric, from Wahoo McDaniel to Ricky Steamboat, but look at me pal, I'm still standing brother. I'm still standing. Each and every time I've won the war. You think... YOU... YOU... you low down coward, you son of a [BEEP], you cheat, you charleton, you liar! You think you're going to finally win the war over... ME? Do you know who you're dealing with? You're dealing with slick Ric! One of a kind... custom made. I'm a limousine riding, jet flyin, wheelin dealin son of a gun! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! And pal, you think you'll beat me? Ha! You know what Eric. I've said it many times before to much better men than you, pal. You can build all the kings armies and the kings men... at the end of the day, you're just from the nWo, and I'm a Horsemen... WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I'm cut from the same cloth as Arn Anderson, brother. And brother, you injure one of our boys, we send two of yours to the morgue. Thats become synonomus with the Horsemen. And I'll tell you why, Eric. Because when we talk, we follow it up. We are who we say we are. Just like my good pal Arn Anderson says, we are not nice guys, we don't wear white hats. You told me to kill the Horsemen. Kill the Horsemen? Are you crazy? The Horsemen will never die! And you know what brother, neither will Ric Flair. Diamonds are forever, and so is 'The Nature Boy' .... Ric Flair! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! And let me tell you another thing brother, when this war is over, and I'm at the top of Space Mountain which still has the longest line in the park, I'm going to show all these lovely ladies a thing or two about success... custom made!" .......... Backstage, 'The Master of the Diamond Cutter' Diamond Dallas Page is intercepted by 'Macho Man' Randy Savage who hauls him by the hair out through the back arena door and into the carlot! A wild brawl ensues! This is completely unscripted, the cameras are jumping up and down in chaotic fashion trying to cover the action. BANG! Savage just sent Page head first into the door of a a Volvo! Ouch. After we come back from a break, the brawling continues, with Page and Savage going toe to toe with vicious punches. Finally, after what must have been 5-10 minutes of brawling, Tuscaloosa's finest and WCW's fun police quickly intercept the two men.
Raven v Bret 'The Hitman' Hart Our main event of the evening, a repeat from last Thursday. A quality, quality match. Raven is becoming more and more the consummate professional, and the crowd is reacting wildly to him. If there was any doubt on his ability to hang and bang at this level, you can drop that right here right now, but there's none better than Bret Hart. He'll tell you so. And Raven is matching him not only in the ebb and flow of this back and forth bout, but he's commanding respect by his ability to run the flow of the match as well as Hart can. This again was a brutal encounter, given it is Ravens Rulez. Again, Bret Hart made the cardinal error of going outside the ring. This time it was caused by multiple Sting's walking down the aisle and standing guard in the middle of the walkway. Hart snapped at the taunt of them holding out their bats and began going at them, one by one the fake Sting's dropped easily. Finally though he hit one who would not drop, but Sting continued just to hold the bat out, as Raven came from behind and dragged Hart by the hair into the steel guardrail at ringside. Sting walked to the back, as Raven continued to dominate on the outside, using all kinds of weapons to inflict all kinds of damage. Once back in the ring, Bret Hart tried to go with Raven with some loose fighting in the centre of the ring. He tried some desperate tactics, but Raven always found a way to come back. Raven even powered out of a sleeper that seemed to be draining him, gaining momentum off the ropes and again into a toe to toe confrontation gained ultimate ascendency over the drained Hart. After various counters backwards and forth Raven finally hit the one that counted... the Evenflow DDT. The question remained, how much was the influence of Sting in turning the outcome of this match, or was it purely because Raven really is now a real superstar of his own? Result: Your winner, Raven
We cut back to the carpark where Page and Savage are being restrained, but what we see next is the Giant in the carpark... OVERTURNING BILL GOLDBERG's CAR! We cut back into the arena where Goldberg, almost for the first time in his career, looks completely and utterly anxious and mortified by what he has just seen live on Nitro... as we fade to black, so many questions remain about just about every nook and cranny to do with WCW...

We are live tonight in the heart of Kentucky, as we come to you from Louisville. We pan around the arena after the thumping music intro to Thunder before fading into see the three commentators for this evening, 'Iron' Mike Tenay, Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan and 'The American Dream' Dusty Rhodes. "Hello everybody and welcome to Thunder, live here on the SuperStation TBS!" Mike Tenay exhorts. "It's great being here in the heart of Kentucky, in the heart of America as we really begin our journey riding our bikes towards Sturgis, North Dakota, for the annual Road Wild Pay-Per-View. And what a Pay-Per-View it promises to be, already confirmed for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship a three way dance between 'Lionheart' Chris Jericho, Bret 'The Hitman' Hart and Sting. And with me tonight to discuss this and more, Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan and 'The American' Dream Dusty Rhodes, and gentlemen, barring perhaps our United States Champion Chris Benoit, is it possible to have a greater technical trio wrestling in one match on the face of this planet?" "These hameneggers should be charged double at Sturgis, Mike," Heenan announces. "Instead, they're going to get that match for free! Can you believe that?" "If you weeeeel baby, we are live and in kuluh here in Kentucky, and Mike, Proafesssssaaaa if you weeeeeeeeel, I agree with you whole hearted leeeee, that at Sturgis brother, good god almighty we are going to be in for a sssssslobber knocka of epic proportions baby!" "The match seems to be based on egos, guys. I mean on one hand you have Bret Hart who has taken exception to a non event with Sting, and the more I see of this feud guys the more I see a side of Bret Hart that I don't like..." "Well brudda, when you come from Stu Harts dungeon baby you like to be thought of as the best...of the best, bar none. And down here in the dubbya ceeeeee dubbya, it's a hard field to plow brudda. And I think Bret Hart is frusssstrated, and I see that as what has caused him to be blinded by the light." "Add in that guys the WCW World Heavyweight Champion himself. The question on everyone's lips, when will he be stopped? He took the Championship from Sting months ago, he's defeated the likes of Lex Luger and the Giant, he is becoming a credible cornerstone of the nWo..." With that, the usual music of the nWo hit the arena airwaves, and coming from underneath the Turner-Tron are 'The Master of the Diamond Cutter' Diamond Dallas Page with his extremely beautiful wife Kimberly Page, and the WCW World Heavyweight Champion himself 'Lionheart' Chris Jericho. Page flashes the Diamond Cutter sign at the bottom of the ramp as the pyros burst out around him. Once in the ring, Jericho and Page act extremely arrogantly, as DDP takes the microphone from David Penzer. The crowd boo tremendously at Page, who just smiles more. "Yo. You love me, you hate me, but one thing's for sure, you'll never forget me. You see tonight, right here in Louisville, Kentucky...." This comment draws a patriotic response from the Kentuckians... ".... In REDNECK CENTRAL!! Right here, tonight, this party is going to get jacked up! This man right next to me is the current and undisputed WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Undisputed. And yet somehow, he finds himself having to take on two men... TWO MEN... at Road Wild. I ask you Chris Jericho, do you have anything more to prove? Of course not, you are the undisputed Champion, and yet Arn Anderson decides to break all protocols and make a history changing match at Road Wild. Well oh well, I guess tonight we'll start to systematically take apart your opponents, shall we? Sting, we hear ya don't back down from nobody. Tonight, you won't know where, you won't know when, but you will... get jacked up... and FEEL THE BANG! Tell 'em more, Champ!" Jericho takes the microphone. "Welcome to... Thursday Night Jericho! I am your paragon of good virtue, the ayatollah of rock n...ROLLLAAAAA... the leader of the Jerichoholics, and your undisputed World Heavyweight Champion, 'Lionheart'... Chris Jericho. So sit up, listen up all you bottom feeding trashbag rednecks and listen good. Sting, earlier this evening our boy Eric Bischoff managed to get a contract signed for this evening. You see, tonight you will wrestle a tag team against myself and Diamond Dallas, with a partner ... of your choice. The only problem I see for you Sting is... no one seems to like you much these days. Let's go through some of your options... Lex Luger? The man turned on you and believed you truly were nWo... Bret Hart? Once a great ally, but I think you've got more of a chance of not needing all that clearasil all over your face than convincing him to wrestle with you... Raven? The man is a loner, he wouldn't wrestle with his other mama. Hogan?" The crowd erupts at the sentimental nostalgic call of Hogan. "That punk can't even get into my building. You know something Sting, I see some very bad things in store for you tonight, pal. You see, I see a very lonely evening for you. And oh how I love that, you know why? Too me, it's toooooo...... SWWEEEEEEEEEEETTTT!! I don't care so much whether I win or not Sting, although it's a given anyway, but I will make sure you don't make it to Road Wild...!" Jericho slams the microphone to the ground and flicks Page the nWo signal, as we cut to a break.
WCW Tag Team Championship Contendors Tournament Latin Passion (Juventud Guerrera and Hector Garza) v The British Connection ('Lord' Steven Regal and 'The Belfast Bruiser' Fit Finley) And onwards to our first match of the evening, the first match of the WCW Tag Team Championship Contendors Tournament. Two teams who are very much a work in progress here in WCW. South of the border both Juventud and Hector Garza have gained incredible success, but despite some great high spots and some planchas to the outside from Juvi that thrilled the crowd, they were no match at the end for the brute power of the boys from the UK, with Steven Regal announcing his talents to Eddie Guerrero and Dean Malenko with a credible performance setting up his Irish-pal Finley for the Piledriver on Garza for the pinfall. Result: Your winners, the British Connection
Backstage, 'Mean' Gene Okerlund is standing by with Bret 'The Hitman' Hart, who stands in his pink sunshades, pink tights and black leather jacket. "Mike Tenay, I thank you. Tonight my special guest is Bret 'The Hitman' Hart. Bret, as you look towards Road Wild where you will feature in a three way special event for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, I ask you, will you be man enough to team with Sting?" Bret smirks, before shaking his head. "Man enough? Gene, its not a matter of being man enough. Its a matter of principals. You see Gene, when I came to the WCW it became very clear to me that the nWo had no morals... no integrity... no honour. So would I take a very clear opportunity to put a very serious wedge into the nWo?" Hart pauses for a second again. "Without a doubt..." "Well there you have it, Bret Ha..." "Whoa whoa whoa, Gene, hear me out. In any normal event, without a doubt. But Gene, when I arrived here in the WCW all I heard about was how great and valiant a warrior Sting was. But ever since I have been here I have failed to see it. I see a traitor. I see a man who hides behind paint. I see a man who fails to see through his own lies. So to answer your question Gene, will I team with Sting? Is it a matter of being man enough? No it's not. I have more to gain to team with him tonight than I have to lose, but the point is, I am a man of honour, and I will not team with a man who lacks all integrity.... Sting, you're on your own, pal..." Hart walks off, leaving Okerlund looking bemused.
'Macho Man' Randy Savage v Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart A slow match built on corner tie ups, irish whips and some roughhouse moves. Not a pretty much, and not one for Neidhart to put in his video cabinet at home as Randy Savage dominated the powerhouse finally ending him off with the Flying Elbow Drop. Result: Your winner, Randy Savage
Post match, 'The Master of the Diamond Cutter' Diamond Dallas Page again moved out from under neath the Turner Tron, and smirked brightly. He started laughing, before walking from side to side of the stage at the top of the ramp. "Well...well... well. Surely that's not it? Surely you have more than that? I may be a lot of things Randy Savage, but I'm not a false enygmatic failure of a hope to these redneck fans... like you are. I see our paths crossing again, somewhere, and all I can see is... Bada-bing...Bada-Bang...Bada-BOOM!" Savage's eyes are filled with steely resolve as we cut to a break.
WCW Tag Team Championship Contendors Tournament 'K-Dawg' Konnan and Curt Hennig v Dancing Fools ('Das Wunderkind' Alex Wright and Disco Inferno) You could just sense the frustration right across the face of Alex Wright. He worked his backside off to build up a heap of momentum, particularly dominating Konnan, only to tag into Disco Inferno and see his gyrating and ego take control as the West Hollywood Blondes came down to ringside and dared Disco to hit the best swings in the landing, however the distraction led to a very easy pinfall for Curt Hennig with the Hennig-plex. Underneath the ego is undoubtedly a very talented superstar, just where the on switch is is the $64,000,000 question. Result: Your winners, Konnan and Curt Hennig
The frustration on Alex Wright's face was evident, as we glared at the West Hollywood Blondes who hugged each other in jubilation, seemingly glad they had knocked out the Dancing Fools from the WCW Tag Team Championship tournament. After the break, the Giant was already standing in the ring. 'Iron' Mike Tenay announced to the fans at home that the Giant was issuing an open challenge, right here, right now, in Louisville, Kentucky. What perhaps he didn't expect was the stormtrooper music of Bill Goldberg, who headbutted his locker room, and flanked by Louisville's finest walked through the back to the gorilla position. Down the ramp he came, as the pyros went all around and seemingly through him, before exploding and him bursting out with uppercut thrusts, left and right. The crowd called out his name mercilessly, as the Giant dared him into the ring. After Goldberg arrived in the ring, the Giant thrust referee Billy Silverman out of the way, and with Goldberg looking at the fans, the Giant took advantage and began laying his massive right hand slaps all over the back of Goldberg, and then sycthing across his chest. With Goldberg down, the Giant went to the top turnbuckle, and undid the padding. He picked Goldberg up above his head and dropped him with a gorilla press slam. Goldberg looked in trouble, as the Giant picked him up, and aimed him for an irish whip into the corner, but before he could do it, Goldberg was able to rake his eyes and quickly roll out of the ring. The Giant eventually broke free from the pain in his eyes and stared daggers at Goldberg, who counted his wounds. Has he met his match? Goldberg though would not be outdone, and got back into the ring. The Giant turned around surprised, but was ready, and the two men started exchanging brutal right hands. 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair and 'The Man of 1000 Holds' Dean Malenko stormed the ring and got in between Goldberg and the Giant, as Louisville's finest and Doug Dillenger's fun police also got in the ring to keep the combatants apart. Why Ric and Dean? This was just getting good! You have La Parka on the chair, jiving for the fans, you have Lizmark Jr a very capable luchadore flying, and then you have the absolutely legendary Jushin Lyger teaming with the heir apparent Psicosis. Brutally good. Great match, ended when Lyger hit the Lyger bomb on Lizmark Jr. Result: Your winners, Jushin Lyger and Psicosis
Backstage, we cut straight away to the women's locker room where Miss Elizabeth was talking to a young Power Plant prodigee. "Well yes... I think being sincere is very important..." "YOU [BEEP]!!!!" Storming into the room was none other than Kimberly Page. "What the hell is this?" "Is what?" Miss Elizabeth innocently asked. "This?!!!!! THIS?!!!!! ANSWER ME!!!!!" She yelled as she produced a copy of WCW Magazine, with Miss Elizabeth again adourning the cover. "I... I... I don't know, its just an article..." "You think you're better than me, don't you? But you're a haggered has been! And I'm going to prove it. On Monday Nitro, you and me... in an evening gown parade... Oh, and here's your magazine..." She started ripping up the cover into little shreds as Miss Elizabeth looked on innocently.
WCW Television Championship Eddie Guerrero (c) v 'The Innovator of Offence' Chris Kanyon A high quality match. At times it appeared Eddie Guerrero may have met his match from the former WCW Tag Team Champion. Kanyon's great ability to create a move out of nowhere had Eddie concerned, and with due cause. This match featured numerous near falls as Kanyon showed to the world he is a future star. Perhaps... dare I say, another diaries Champion? HAHA! But talent is not enough, it needs to be filfulled with performance, and Eddie was able to hold in for long periods before finally gaining momentum, and taking Kanyon to town ending him with the Five Star Frogsplash in another accomplished performance. Result: Your winner, and STILL WCW Television Champion, Eddie Guerrero
Backstage, 'The Enforcer' Arn Anderson is walking the hallowed corridors, before walking into the presence of Raven who sits alone in his own corner. Anderson continues to walk on... "Wait..." A voice flickers. Anderson stops. "Cowardice will not be condoned. If Sting wants a partner... so it is written, so it shall come to pass..." Anderson smiled, as he carried on. He began to take a frightful pounding, before the lighting in the arena dimmed, and a spotlight appeared at the top of the ramp... .. .. [ It was the surprise debut of Jerry Lynn! Another surprise here on WCW programming! Angle looked extremely happy to see Lynn, who tagged in a hot tag from Angle and began to take on both Muta and Chono. After 5 more minutes of back and forth high quality action, Lynn finally got control of Great Muta ending the match with the Cradle Piledriver. What a debut from Jerry Lynn! Result: Your winners, Kurt Angle and Jerry Lynn
We cut backstage, where 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair is as red as a beetroot, you know, the look he has when he is enraged and stressed. "ARE YOU CRAZY? WOOOOOOOOOO!!! Are you out of your mind?" Goldberg sits and snarls. "He could finish you for good, Bill. I know this from experience. That man has destroyed many a good wrestler Bill...." Goldberg gets up and slams a chair across the room before getting in the face of Flair. "Are you saying I'm not a good wrestler, Ric? Do you know how many men have beaten me? Zero. Whose Next, Ric? Let me wrestle him. Let me prove myself... Just like you did all those years ago."
Sting and Raven v WCW World Heavyweight Champion 'Lionheart' Chris Jericho and 'The Master of the Diamond Cutter' Diamond Dallas Page Sting was elated to see Raven's arrival, beating on his chest triumphantly as Page and Jericho cleared the ring for Raven's appearance. Jericho shook his head in disgust at the appearance of Raven, and had a quick tiff with Page whose plan seemed to be undermined. None the less, the match continued on. Raven and Sting tagged well, but then Page deceitfully used underhand tactics to slowly but surely bring Sting undone. Page and Jericho then cut the ring off well, working over Sting, attempted to burn him out before he even had a chance to get to Road Wild, as promised. Sting valiantly kept avoiding near falls, but then Page got arrogant, picking Sting up at the count of two and continuing on the onslaught. The fans tried to rally behind Sting who fell prey to a sleeper hold from Page. More and more the fans chanted, and after it appeared Sting had gone to sleep, he began to power his way out of it. But Page raked his eyes, and without tagging in Jericho the Champion found his way back in. Raven tried to come in for the save, but Mickey Jay stopped him from coming in. The fans were incensed. The carnage continued with Jericho now looking to separate the ligaments in the right shoulder. But Sting kept fighting, trying to kick start some momentum. The fans started to rally, and Sting kicked his way out of the corner. He got tripped by Jericho, as he stumbled towards the corner. He kept clutching... YES! He got the tag. In came Raven. BANG! BANG! BANG! Clotheslines galore. Jericho back in, neckbreaker. Here comes Page, hip toss! Both men rolled to the outside as Raven thrust his arms in the air to the joy of the fans. Sting went back to the corner as Page came back in. Raven continued to pick up the pace. It appeared inevitable, he was planning for the Evenflow, BANG! And there it is! But before Mickey Jay could make the count, Chris Jericho distracted him. With Mickey Jay distracted, Bret Hart ran to ringside and took Sting off the apron, and the two icons went toe to toe. Kevin Nash also ran in as Mickey Jay continued to argue with Jericho, and with Raven not looking was able to clock him with a steel chair, and roll DDP on top. With Page on the mat, Nash merely rolled him over, and Mickey Jay made the scandalous count. Result: Your winners, Chris Jericho and Diamond Dallas Page
With the ring filling with debris, Eric Bischoff came to ringside. Kevin Nash went to the outside and hit the steel chair over the back of the head of Sting, and now Sting and Raven found themselves hopelessly concussed in the centre of the ring. Bischoff produced hand cuffs, and Raven and Sting were hauled to the steel cables. Bret Hart thrust his arms in the air in celebration, and the nWo acknowledged him, although he refused to give them the nWo signal. He shook his head in refusal, which incensed Kevin Nash who hit him with a thundering lariat. He picked up Bret Hart... BANG! JACKKNIFE! Bischoff handed over another set of handcuffs, and Bret Hart suddenly was dragged to the cables. A series of kicks and punches ensued on the trio of the vanquished, before after it seemed an eternity finally Doug Dillenger, along with some of Louisville's finest, came rushing to the ring. With the nWo barely hanging on, 'Macho Man' Randy Savage and 'Rabid Wolverine' Chris Benoit raced down to the ring, and their presence was enough for the nWo to clear the decks.....
