They were founded by Dave Prazak, who used his connections to bring in the best women’s talent from across North America into SHIMMER. They were a unique organization as they would hold events about every three months, and they would sell DVDs through Ring of Honor’s online store, whom they have a very close connection with due to Prazak’s work with them. In the first year-plus of SHIMMER action, stars like Sara Del Rey, Allison Danger, Amazing Kong, Ms. Chif and Lacey have began to show that they have skills that could make them major stars in America. They showed people in America what women’s wrestling should be. It shouldn’t be bimbos who win a contest rolling around on the mat, it should be highly trained, highly dangerous women who can hold their own against some of the very best that the business has to offer. May 2007 marks a turning point for SHIMMER. Dave Prazak has turned over control of the promotion he has created since he is in power in so many promotions across America. He wishes to put more focus into helping build ROH into a national powerhouse, as well as making FIP the next Ring of Honor. He has turned SHIMMER over to a new head booker, who has decided that it is time to turn the heat up on the development of SHIMMER Women Athletes. His first action as booker of SHIMMER was the decision that shows will be held more often than they were in the past. They will start as a monthly event, then after he sees how that goes it could change to a bi-monthly event. The next was to change the way that SHIMMER’s events would be named. They would no longer just bare a volume number, they would have names that easily identified them from the other shows. His biggest change though is the decision that SHIMMER needs a champion for the rest of the roster to look up to, and for the fans to see as a clear number one wrestler in the promotion. And seeing as SHIMMER is getting their first ever champion, there is only one good way to decide who this champion will be, a sixteen woman tournament. This is expected to be a two-night event coming up later this month, and the participants will be announced at a later date. This is a huge leap for SHIMMER, will the new booker lead them into national recognition, or will the public shut them out and go back to “divas wrestling”? SHIMMER!!! I just found this promotion. TNA's women wrestling was really impressing me, and i wondered if there was good women's wrestling out there, and i stumbled across them. They are ab-fab. I'll be watching out for this, good luck. but don't forget about the WWE wre-spri tournament! :D

Veronika is a young woman from Canada that has been impressing people with her in-ring ability since she began. One person didn’t look too impressed though, and that was Cheerleader Melissa. Veronika charged at her and hit a few punches, then Melissa unleashed one of her famous forearms to the face of Vice. Melissa was relentless from there out, as she would knock Vice down, then kick her in the chest and back to take the wind out of her. She drilled her with a DDT, then got her right back up and drilled the Kudo Driver to get the dominating first round victory. The two started with a contest of who could punch harder, but that wasn’t working too well for the smaller Ariel, so she went to the technical game that worked for a little bit. Ms. Chif came back in a short time though by pounded Ariel into the mat, then going to work on the back and legs of Ariel, maybe looking for the Double Legged Muta Lock. She went for it once, but Ariel quickly got to the ropes. The two got back up and had a face off, and Ariel tried to hit her move, Dariel, out of nowhere, but Ms. Chif jumped up onto her shoulders and nailed Code Green to get the first round victory. One thing was for sure, these ladies weren’t getting paid by the hour. They went right after each other, and they each tried their finisher within the first three minutes of the match. After a face off they went back at each other, and a technical exchange happened that ended with Sarah Stock putting Daizee Haze in a pretzel-like submission hold. Haze somehow got out of the hold, but Stock continued to push her around the ring. She then took Haze up for a superplex, but Daizee knocked her off with a deadly Heart Punch. Daizee then hopped down and got a head of steam and leveled her with a Yakuza Kick to get the huge victory. She used her superior power over Lacey to level her multiple times, and that left Lacey reeling, and she headed straight to the floor to grab a breather. Fyfe wasn’t having any of it though and she headed out after Lacey, which was a mistake as Lacey was waiting for her. She smashed Fyfe’s head off the guardrail, then whipped her into the ring steps. She followed that up by charging at a sitting Fyfe and scraped her boot across the face of Fyfe. The fight then went back to the ring, and Lacey was dominating the action for the majority, but Fyfe got a second wind and went for the Gordbuster, but was unable to connect, and Lacey quickly turned it into the Implant DDT for the victory. She had to stand around six feet tall, and she went right after Del Rey. Sara tried some of her high powered offense, but it was having almost no effect on the lady clad in black and purple. She took Del Rey down with several clotheslines, then dragged her into the corner and nailed a cannonball into the sitting Del Rey. She then dragged her out and looked like she was going for a powerbomb, but Sara grabbed her arm and snapped it into the ground. Del Rey then started stomping away on the arm, and she got her up and wrapped it around her own head and DDT’d her right onto the arm. She then floated over and locked in a very deadly Fujiwara Armbar, forcing Kraven to submit, and showing that Del Rey can adapt to any style. Malia then tried the monkey flip on Kong, and that proved to be a fatal mistake as it was the last attempted move she would get in on Kong. Kong laughed at her and drilled her with a spinning back fist. She then lifted Hosaka up over her head and dropped her straight to the mat with a press slam. Kong toyed around with Malia for a few more minutes, then put her out of her misery with an Amazing Bomb to get the convincing first round victory. Jazz has big fight experience, and she knows the importance of a good start, and she jumped all over Roxx from the beginning. She was dominating Roxx like many though that she might, and she lifted her up in the Bitch Clamp, but Roxx refused to tap out. Jazz then decided that she would put it away, and she went for the Jazz Stinger, but Roxx got some separation and dropped Jazz with a huge big boot. Roxx then hit a huge lariat, and she looked to set Jazz up for the Barbie Crusher, but Jazz got out of it and went for the Implant DDT, which Roxx rolled out of, then she rolled up Jazz and got the shocking three count. Rain started out with things on her side, trying to prove Danger’s statements at the beginning of the show wrong. She looked like she might, but then Danger’s experience kicked in, and she started slamming Rain around the ring like there was no tomorrow. She looked for a piledriver, but Rain reversed it into a backdrop, and then set Danger up for her finisher, Acid Rain. She got her up, but Danger reversed it into a victory roll, but could only get the two count. Rain then grabbed Danger and looked for the Rain Drop, but Danger knocked her down, and then ran from behind and drilled the Shimmering Warlock to the back of Rain’s head to get the three count.
