Monday Night Raw Monday, April Week 4, 2008 Live from Florence Civic Center Florence, South Carolina Attendance: 10,000 (SELLOUT!) This week’s Monday Night Raw gets underway with it’s usual intro video, then the fans go crazy as the opening pyro signifies two great hours of Monday Night Raw action. They are jumping around and holding up their signs as JR and King welcome the fans on the USA Network into the Florence Civic Center. All that comes to a halt when the music of WWE Champion Randy Orton plays in the arena. The boos shower Orton down, and he seems to just soak them up as he poses with his championship on the turnbuckle. He then grabs the microphone from ringside. Randy Orton I’d like to welcome you all into my show. Monday Night Raw is in the Age of Orton, and when I want to say something, I will be heard. I’m sure you were all tuned in last week and saw John Cena pin my partner Mr. Kennedy in the six man main event. There was one problem with that. Mr. Kennedy wasn’t the legal man, so that loss should not count on my record. I don’t care what happens to Kennedy, I will not have a blemish on my spotless record. I’ve worked hard to establish my record here on Raw, and I won’t let some pencil necked referee screw me out of what would have surely been a victory. Regal, and demand you get out here and declare me the winner of last week’s match. The music of William Regal plays, and the General Manager of Monday Night Raw makes his way onto the stage, and he pulls out a microphone to give Orton an answer. William Regal Well Randy, I can’t just give you the victory because it’s so far after the fact, and the referee refuses to reverse his decision. What I can do is give you a chance to make up for that loss on your record with a huge win here tonight. I would pit you against Triple H so that you could wear him out before your match at Judgment Day in a few weeks, but Triple H is in Greenwich with his family get things in order before his match with you. So I will give you somebody else who was in that match with you. Tonight’s main event will see Randy Orton go one-on-one with….John Cena! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cody Rhodes vs. Mr. Kennedy Mr. Kennedy passed up his usual introduction in this match and he went straight to work on one-half of the World Tag Team Champions, Cody Rhodes. Rhodes used his youthful energy to get the upper hand early, but his inexperience came back to bite him when he tried to finish it with his DDT too early and Mr. Kennedy dumped him over the top rope. Kennedy followed him out and gave him a beating for eight seconds, then threw him back in at the count of nine. He followed up with some nifty karate kicks, but he swung and missed on one, and Rhodes locked him in for the DDT one more time, but Kennedy reversed it into the Mic Check this time and got the victory. Winner: Mr. Kennedy Match Time: 9:19 Match Rating: B- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DH Smith vs. Paul Burchill Burchill is coming off of a slaughtering of Super Crazy in this match, but he figured to have a tougher contest this week with the talented DH Smith. Smith has all the tools to become a major player on Raw, but Burchill has something that Smith doesn’t have, a killer instinct. Smith had Burchill down a couple of times, but didn’t capitalize on Burchill when he was reeling, which allowed Burchill to pounce with a nasty swinging STO, then follow that up with a Curb Stomp to get his second impressive victory in two weeks. Winner: Paul Burchill Match Time: 7:58 Match Rating: C- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match it was almost a replay of last week’s events. Paul’s sister Katie Lea got into the ring, and she didn’t satisfied with Paul’s victory. She told him to get Smith again. So Paul grabbed DH by the back of the head, then lifted it up and drove it down into the mat with another sickening Curb Stomp, which showed the Raw roster that the Burchill’s are on Raw to do some damage. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The camera goes backstage to the women’s locker room where Maria is warming up before another big match here on Monday Night Raw. She has been on a roll in recent weeks, but tonight she has to go one-on-one with the most dominant diva in recent memory, the current Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Beth Phoenix vs. Maria The announcers predicted that Maria was getting in over her head in this match, and Phoenix proved that they were right as she stretched Maria in ways that the human body is not meant to be stretched in. She then began toying around with Maria, and after she would hit a big move she would give out an evil laugh. She then sat Maria up on the top turnbuckle to get extra impact on her Fisherman’s Suplex, but Maria knee’d her right in the face, then leaped off the top rope and drilled a massive top rope bulldog and got the shocking three count, beating the Women’s Champion in a singles match. Winner: Maria Match Time: 7:54 Match Rating: C- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The camera goes backstage where Chris Jericho is standing by with his Intercontinental Championship draped over his shoulder. He then begins to address the crowd at home about his upcoming match with the Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga. Chris Jericho I’ve had calls from my friends this week wondering what I was thinking about when I challenged Umaga to a singles match last week. It’s pretty simple. I will not be intimidated. I’ve been around the block a time or two, I’ve seen guys like Umaga. They will get in your head and then just take what they want, which in this case is my championship. Well I won’t let that happen. I’ll show him that I mean business, and this Intercontinental Championship isn’t going anywhere. Tonight’s not about the title though, it’s about respect, and I plan to beat some respect into Umaga. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chris Jericho vs. Umaga This non-title match had big implications as Umaga has been stalking Jericho for weeks. Umaga came out fuming due to Jericho costing him a match against Val Venis last week on Raw. The two men met in the middle of the ring, and Jericho showed no fear as he pummeled the big man, catching him off guard. Jericho surprisingly had the offense going for several minutes, and he went for the Codebreaker, but Umaga stood his ground and the move just seemed to tick him off. He then exploded at Jericho and ran him over like a Mack truck. Umaga then turned the offense up to the next level. He smashed and slammed Jericho in just about every corner of the ring, then headed to the second rope and gave Jericho a big leaping headbutt. He followed that up with a big Samoan Drop, then dragged him over into the corner, where he then charged at him and drove his hip into the face of Jericho. He then yelled a little bit, then stood him up for the Samoan Spike, but Jericho took him down with a double leg takedown, then locked in the Walls of Jericho. Umaga quickly got to the ropes, and he headed right to the outside of the ring and grabbed Jericho’s title. He walked right into the ring and Jericho tried to take the title, but Umaga shoved him back and then blasted him with the championship, ending the match right there. Winner by DQ: Chris Jericho Match Time: 17:02 Match Rating: B --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Umaga held the title in Jericho’s face, and he yelled something in Samoan. It seemed like he was trying to get across that he didn’t care about tonight’s match, he wanted Jericho’s title, and he would take it by force whenever he got the opportunity. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lance Cade vs. Shawn Michaels Cade is primarily a tag team competitor, much like HBK was at this point in his career. The much bigger Cade had a serious strength advantage in the match, but Michaels has fought much stronger men before, and he used his endless knowledge of wrestling to turn things in his favor every time that Cade tried to bust out a big offensive maneuver. Cade measured HBK up for a lariat, but the former WWE Champion ducked under it then blasted him with Sweet Chin Music to get the relatively easy victory. Winner: Shawn Michaels Match Time: 7:55 Match Rating: C+ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Right after the match the camera zoomed in on the TitanTron, where the image of Mr. Kennedy was staring right into Shawn Michaels. Mr. Kennedy Shawn, do you have the countdown started yet? The countdown to what you may ask. The countdown until Judgment Day, more namely your own personal judgment day. Once you step into the ring with me, I’m going to take you out Shawn. I’m going to…how did you put it to Ric….take you out back and put you down? That’s it. That’s exactly what I’m going to do to you Michaels. You think you are the only one here that can send people into retirement? Think again buddy boy. Except when I end your career at Judgment Day, there won’t be any tribute videos, there won’t be any last rides into the sunset, there will just be paramedics scraping your worthless carcass off the mat, and the voice of Lilian Garcia declaring me the victor….. MISTER KENNEDY!…..KENNEDY! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carlito makes his way out to the ring for his singles match with one half of the World Tag Team Champions, Hardcore Holly. Of course he has something to say before the match though. Carlito So it’s finally official. Carlito and Santino have received our long deserved shot at the Tag Team Titles. Our shot comes at Judgment Day, and I promise you that we will make the most of this chance, and Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes will be handing over those titles to two men who really deserve them. And then Monday Night Raw can have champions that it can be proud of. That, that’s cool. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carlito vs. Hardcore Holly Hardcore came out extra focused for this match with Carlito as he wanted to prove that last week was a fluke, and that he and Rhodes have nothing to worry about heading into Judgment Day. He chased Carlito around the ring with his signature chops, and Carlito was struggling to get air into his lungs because of it. Holly was in total control of the match, then Carlito snuck it a rake of the eyes. He then paid Holly back with chops of his own, and he hit a huge DDT. After a few near falls on Holly, Carlito went for the Back Stabber, but Holly wouldn’t go down, then after a clubbing blow he got Carlito up and hit him with the Alabama Slam to get the victory. Winner: Hardcore Holly Match Time: 8:13 Match Rating: B --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A video starts playing showing the parallel rises to stardom from the combatants in tonight’s main event, John Cena and Randy Orton. It shows them each winning their first World Championship, but Orton’s video turns dark and slow around this time, and it is highlighted by his injuries and despicable acts. At the same time Cena’s portion of the video shows him with his nearly two year run as WWE Champion. Then all of a sudden it changes with the injury to John Cena, and the roles reverse as Orton was on top of the world as Cena was trying to fight back. It then plays up that tonight could be a turning point in these two superstar’s careers. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- John Cena vs. Randy Orton This pay-per-view like main event had the Raw fans buzzing, and the vast majority wanted to see John Cena beat the tar out of the WWE Champion. They got what they wanted too as Cena slugged it out with Orton, and it was obvious who got the upper hand of that. Cena followed him around the ring throwing big rights, and Orton had to reach into his bag of tricks to get Cena off of his trail. Orton then took some time to regain his energy before putting Cena in his slow, methodical offense, started by wearing him down with a headlock. When Cena looked to be out Orton went to stomping on all his limbs. He followed this with his inverted backbreaker, then started stalking him for the RKO. Orton leaped into the air and grabbed Cena’s head, but Cena threw him straight to the mat. He then began his sequence of signature moves, and it looked to be done with the F-U. He got Orton up on his shoulder, but he spun, and Orton’s legs kicked the referee to the mat. Cena delivered the F-U, then looked around not sure what to do. Then out of nowhere JBL jumped into the ring and delivered a nasty Clothesline to Hell to Cena, then threw Orton on top and woke the referee up. He then slowly counted to three, and gave the match to WWE Champion Randy Orton with a big assist to JBL. Winner: Randy Orton Match Time: 16:17 Match Rating: A* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match JBL got in the ring and shoed Orton out of it, then began to address John Cena, who was slowly coming back to his senses in the middle of the ring. JBL Cena, I’m getting sick and tired of how you think you run this place. I’ve got a news flash for you. I was holding gold here while you were still a zit faced nerd back in Boston. You need a good dose of respect beaten into you, and I’m just the man to do that. But I don’t want to just fight you….no, no, I’ve got a better idea. JBL then got out of the ring and reached under the apron, and he pulled out a huge rope with a giant cowbell attached in the middle of it. He threw the rope into the ring and then hopped right back in. Then he grabbed the rope in his hands and swung it at Cena, who was starting to rise, and he hit him right in the head with the bell, sending Cena crashing to the mat and opening a gash in his forehead. JBL Cena, at Judgment Day, you are going to get a lesson in how to respect your elders, in a TEXAS BULLROPE MATCH! Final Rating: C+ Television Rating: 24.96 (+1.59)

Monday Night saw Randy Orton get revenge for his loss the week before by screwing John Cena out of a main event victory. In the match JBL jumped into the ring and took out Cena, saying that he was going to beat some respect into the former WWE Champion. He then pulled out a bull rope and beat Cena down some more with it. John Cena has been brewing over this all week, and you can bet that he will have some retaliation in store for JBL come Raw. Triple H is also returning to Raw this week after spending a week with his family getting ready for his Judgment Day title match with Randy Orton. What will Triple H have in store for the WWE Champion when Raw comes around Monday Night? News is going around that William Regal will have some historic match making on Raw this week, even though he won't tell anybody what it is. One match he has made official though is a Women's Title match between the champion Beth Phoenix, and the diva that has been on a month long winning streak, Maria. Tune into Raw this week to find out who will walk out champion.

Monday Night Raw Monday, May Week 1, 2008 Live from Continental Airlines Arena East Rutherford, New Jersey Attendance: 11,525 Monday Night Raw starts off with the music of the eleven time WWE Champion, and the current number one contender to the title, Triple H’s music playing through the arena. He made his way out onto the stage as the fans went crazy. He looked around the arena on the thousands of people on their feet in respect to him, and he got a slight smile on his face. He then made his way into the ring and grabbed a microphone from ringside. Triple H I was sitting at home on Monday Night, and I saw Randy Orton run his mouth off some more about how he was going to easily beat me and retain his WWE Championship at Judgment Day. I couldn’t help but laugh at him. Randy, in Evolution I might have taught you everything you know, but I didn’t teach you everything I know. And I plan to reach into that bag of tricks, then I will be walking out of Judgment Day the WWE Champion. I’ve been on my game lately, and the week spent at home getting my head ready for the title match made me even stronger, so Randy, you are in trouble. I….. Just then the music of Raw General Manager William Regal played over the speakers, and the fans booed heavily that the snobby general manager had just interrupted Triple H. William Regal I believe we have heard enough out of you for one night. Earlier this week I promised historic match making for tonight’s Raw, and I’m about to deliver. I will start with the champion. Randy Orton, you will be facing off with Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho in a champion vs. champion match. In another match, JBL will be going one on one with Brian Kendrick. Then Mr. Kennedy will go against Val Venis. But don’t think I forgot about their rivals at the moment. That would be Triple H, John Cena and Shawn Michaels. No, no, no, I’ve got something very good in store for you three. Tonight’s main event will see Triple H face off with John Cena….and Shawn Michaels in a triple threat match! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mr. Kennedy vs. Val Venis Val Venis was coming off one of his biggest wins in quite some time after beating Umaga, but Mr. Kennedy has been on a roll of his own, and he is trying to prove to Shawn Michaels that he will destroy everybody in his path before they meet at Judgment Day. Venis got in a little bit of offense, and he was able to head up top to try the Money Shot, but Kennedy knocked him off, then drilled him with the Mic Check to get another victory. Winner: Mr. Kennedy Match Time: 8:53 Match Rating: B --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Mr. Kennedy rolled Venis out of the ring, then he motioned for his signature microphone. The lights dimmed and the mic fell from the ceiling into the hands of the man who was just victorious in yet another match. Mr. Kennedy Ladies and gentlemen, soak it all in. You are standing in the presence of greatness. Many people have called me the future of sports entertainment. That title will be dropped after Judgment Day. Because after I dominate Shawn Michaels and pin him in the middle of the ring, I will no longer be the future of the WWE, I will be the here and now. I will be what’s happening. But for now, I’m…MISTER KENNEDY! KENNEDY! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The camera goes backstage where Maria is warming up for her Women’s Championship match with Beth Phoenix which is up next. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Women’s Championship Match Beth Phoenix © vs. Maria Maria has been the hottest WWE superstar as of late as she has gotten victories week after week on Monday Night Raw. The problem is that not many have been in one-on-one action, and she has been able to use certain situations to her advantages. She didn’t get many of those chances in this match, and any time Maria tried to open up some offense Phoenix showed her dominance and shut it right away. She shrugged off a clothesline from Maria, then slugged her in the face, and followed that up with the Fisherman’s Suplex to get the successful title defense. Winner: Beth Phoenix Match Time: 4:38 Match Rating: D+ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Beth got her title, then walked right over the stomach of Maria as Raw went to break. When it came back Phoenix was walking into her locker room when she was confronted by Mickie James. Mickie James Was it not enough that you beat Maria, you had to try hurting her after the match too? You are nothing but a big bully Beth, and I plan on stopping it. That’s why I’m challenging you to a Women’s Championship match at Judgment Day, and you will accept it if you have any guts at all. Beth Phoenix Oh I have guts. And you are on Mickie. And just like your little friend Maria, you WILL get hurt. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul Burchill vs. Paul London Paul London got the crowd going early in this match with his high octane offense, and it looked like Burchill didn’t have an answer for it as London was striking him hard early and often. He went up top and tried for a clothesline, but Burchill finally got some offense in and shoulder tackled him out of mid air. The onslaught began from there and Burchill threw London around like a ragdoll. He hit him with his reverse STO, then smashed him into the mat with the Curb Stomp to get the 1-2-3. Winner: Paul Burchill Match Time: 6:55 Match Rating: B- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match things started looking awfully familiar. The last couple of weeks have seen Burchill beat down his opponent after the match, and this week looked like it was going to be the same. As he prepared to Curb Stomp London again the lights went down in the arena, and familiar music hit the arena as JR yelled out in instinct…. JEFF HARDY IS BACK! Hardy rushed out onto the stage and ran down to the ring, where he punched Burchill a few times, then clotheslined him right over the top rope. He then yelled at Burchill from inside the ring to come and get some more, and when he declined Hardy celebrated his return to a WWE arena after an extended hiatus from action. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton This champion versus champion matchup had the fans very worked up. They wanted badly for Jericho to come out in this match and give it to Orton and prove that he is World Championship material still. Jericho made the fans happy as he started out on fire, taking Orton down several times, and making the WWE Champion look like he was out of his element against Jericho. Orton was finally able to get some offense in by stomping on the limbs of Jericho, then locking him in a very long headlock. Jericho got the fans back behind him though and he rallied back, then took Orton down with a bulldog. He started to go for the Lionsault, but then the music of Umaga hit. This stopped Jericho in his tracks and he stared at the ramp, but the music stomped and there was no Umaga. He turned back around and Orton was waiting and drilled the RKO to get the win. Winner: Randy Orton Match Time: 13:39 Match Rating: A* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Orton stood up and started laughing, and it seems like he was behind the Umaga entrance music trick, not Jericho’s rival Umaga. Jericho looked furious as Orton took the title and walked back up the ramp, looking as arrogant as ever. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A video plays hyping the huge three-way main event on tonight’s Raw. It shows how each man is a multiple time World Champion, and how they all have big matches going into Judgment Day. The announcers then hype that all the men will be giving it their all so that they can get some momentum heading into their pay-per-view matches. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cody Rhodes vs. Santino Marella Rhodes and Marella have been battling for weeks in one way or another, and in less than two weeks he will get a shot at the Tag Titles that Rhodes and Holly hold along with his partner Carlito. Rhodes had the advantage early on with his good technical game and some quick dropkicks. Marella started fighting his way back though with a MMA style. He then switched it up and went for a top rope splash, but Rhodes crotched him on the top, then delivered huge DDT that brought Santino off the top rope and got the victory. Winner: Cody Rhodes Match Time: 7:49 Match Rating: B- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brian Kendrick vs. John Bradshaw Layfield Kendrick must have made somebody mad, because in this match he has to face JBL, a man who is more focused than he has been in years. JBL has a Texas Bullrope match with Cena coming up at Judgment Day, and he was looking for a momentum bump going into that huge match. Kendrick got some quick punches into JBL, but they had no effect, and JBL took Kendrick down with a Clothesline from Hell that got him the easy victory. Winner: John Bradshaw Layfield Match Time: 6:38 Match Rating: B --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When Raw came back from commercial after that match the group of JBL, Randy Orton and Mr. Kennedy were seen backstage talking something over. Whatever it was, it couldn’t be good for their three competitors at Judgment Day. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H This match featured the three biggest wrestlers on planet earth right now, and they wasted no time in getting the action going. Cena realized early on that he was at the disadvantage because the two members of Degeneration X were all over him from the start. They used a two on one offense for the vast majority of the match, but when Triple H tried to pin Cena, things broke down and Triple H and Michaels got in a shove fest that turned into blows. The fans were going nuts as all three men squared off at about the ten minute mark, and then an unique three way slugfest began. One man would punch another, which would then cause him to punch the other man. This went back and forth for a bit until Triple H delivered a Spinebuster to both men. He then went for the Pedigree on Michaels, but Cena broke it up, then put on an amazing show of strength as he got both men up on his shoulders for the F-U. Just then though JBL appeared in the ring and he took out Cena’s knees. Kennedy and Orton then got in the ring and started slugging their rivals as well. The referee then had no choice but to throw the match out. Winner: No Contest Match Time: 16:00 Match Rating: A* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match the bad guys continued the assault on the fan favorites, but they posed a little too much and gave Triple H, Cena and Michaels too much time, and they came back and started brawling with their opponents. The brawls spilled out onto the floor and into the crowd, and Monday Night Raw went off the air with all six men going at it, none wanting to wait until Judgment Day.
